Esq. and GQ

Would it be useful to point out that both Esquire and GQ are men's magazines? Might not be common info. -- Wordmama 19:59, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

I think it's a good idea. It may be explaining the joke a bit, but both names appear as acronyms and I sure didn't recognize this reference. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 04:01, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

After the last lappy cut to...

The sbemailiarized logo screen during the SWF can be set to play to re-watch the last cut to the lappy. Where would this go? ColdReactive

Termianal D6?

How do we know the name of the greenish computer? --Jellote 20:08, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Nevermind. Just the title. --Jellote 20:09, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Is This Concept Familiar?

Aren't there real TV shows who try to pass off old episodes with new introductions as new episodes? The only one I can think of is I Love Lucy. BBG 22:54, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

You mean like they do in "Golden Girls", when they have the four ladies eat cheesecake together and talk about their "memories" (i.e. repeating scenes from previous episodes, just with the line "Do you remember the time we..." said by one of the characters before running the "flashback")? --Cass from Germany 23:14, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Sounds like you're describing a "clip show", Cass, which isn't quite the same thing, but it is similar. --Jay (Talk) 23:19, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Saved By The Bell did this to recycle the "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" episodes; Zack did an intro to each one to set it up as some crazy thing that happened to them in middle school. -- M
It's a terribly common and boring thing. There's no reason to reference it to any particular show, as most have done it and the rest will. This is kinda a "clip show" but not notable. Sorry. Thanks for playing. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 00:34, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Well, I finally remembered what more relevant instance I was trying to think of earlier. The Twilight Zone episode "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" was produced by simply taking a French short and adding a new introduction and a new closing narration by Rod Serling. BBG 19:20, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

In animation circles, especially during the Golden Age, they were known as "cheaters."

More SBEMAILS to come?

I think this is a promo for 2009's batch of SBEMAILS. And yes, I think we will be seeing more HREMAILS too. User:MICGAGUH

This is a forum discussion.--Thy Not Dennis (t/c) 17:44, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Maybe so. But I totally predicted a couple months ago that April Fools' 2009 would have something to do with SBEmails. I just wish I had posted my predictions somewhere. Now where, WHERE, could I have posted such a thing?? --Lukeonia1 07:22, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Why come not your user page? but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 01:59, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
See, I told you there would be more HREMAILS!User:MICGAGUH

Contrast knobs

Not sure where this should go (or if it's notable enough), but not only do the contrast knobs on the Tandy work, but they still work during the cut to the hamburger scene. Brucker 04:20, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Sbemailiarization of other toons

I am actually trying my best to create Sbemails out of old toons like The Reddest Raddish. -User:FalconPuncher

Post your ideas on the forum. Specifically, here. BBG 01:13, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Logo

I don't think it's any coincidence that the logo for this looks like the old Sierra Entertainment logo. Should be mentioned somewhere. --HappyDog 12:41, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Other than the fact that it's round, vaguely blue, and horizontally liney, it doesn't really resemble it all that much... It's possible it's a reference to the logos in redesign (which were also round, coloured, and had horizontal lines as part of the "dipped in Plexiglas" look), but it's probably that they're both just parodies of that style of logo in general. --phlip TC 13:38, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
It's a broken link. Is there another link you could use? Bleu Ninja 17:59, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Here's the same image on the original page. --phlip TC 21:44, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
"...but it's probably that they're both just parodies of that style of logo in general" - I'm not so sure about that. The Chaps are big Sierra fans (as evidenced by the no. of Sierra titles on the disk box, plus Peasant's Quest, which is an amazingly detailed spoof of the King's Quest series), so I would be surprised if it wasn't a knowing reference to that familiar logo. --HappyDog 01:57, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
PS - I don't have any problem with the above link, and it doesn't appear broken to me! Perhaps a temporary glitch? --HappyDog 01:58, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Ha ha ha. Very funny Strong Bad.

In senior prom, it was released as a joke, i.e. it was announced as a KOT toon but was a SBEmail. Here it was announced as a SBEmail but was a toon. Sould we note the prankiness of this in the remarks? --Jellote 00:12, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Technically, it was set up as a KOT toon which was almost immediately pre-empted by the email it was... so NO!!! but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 01:58, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

"'See, Shandy?' is likely a reference to sea shanties." WTC?

That's a STREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETCH if I ever saw one. but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 19:47, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

They do have a very similar sound, though. --DorianGray 20:54, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Similarities in sound don't constitute references, do they? Once again, STREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETCH! but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 23:28, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

So... Wha happened?

A long time ago I mentioned that they had introduced a brand new CPU in this toon (fact) along with some speculation which I know better and shouldn't have written. However, now there is NO mention anywhere of the new Computer. We can't deny its existence, and its never been seen seen before, so why was it removed (I think I placed it in remarks). We have a page on a Computer thats only available on the DVD and all the Cheat's Computers (all of which have made minimal appearances). I don't mind, I just wanna know why. Stinkoblade 8:30 EST (because I forgots to log in)

It's in the transcript, and it has a page. 98.222.134.36 13:36, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Snarky waggle head.

I remember seeing this shapened oval balloon-monster thing called a Snarkgrabber somewhere. It was on that weird La La La video with Strong Bad making a cameo in. Regardless, his head and the Snark match in shape. Does this count as both a justification and a real-world reference? --Jellote 22:59, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

...snarky wagglehead AND or AT an old computer?

When you use the word 'and,' it sounds like the "wagglehead" is used for one end and an old computer for the other. A classic cartoon is bookended with TWO "waggleheads," which both appear on the computer screen. So is it a conjunction or a preposition? I only want to be sure about this. --Charlie Jr. 21:48, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Strange...

Anyone else find it weird that you can clearly hear a clicking noise when Homestar says "Toons" on the main page but you don't actually click to make those buttons work normally?

groan... Stuff like this goes on the forum... Flicky1991 06:17, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
