When I noted this on the article, I censored it as a potentially temporary measure until we could discuss it. (Our swears policy was still over a year from being written.) It was recently {{p|l={{FULLURL:{{PAGENAME}}|diff=730175&oldid=730174}} uncensored and then re-censored}}, citing our [[HRW:Swears|swears policy]], but I don't think the policy says it must be censored, and in fact might say that it shouldn't be. It's kind of a gray area because it's sort-of an Easter egg, but nevertheless it's something generated by the Chaps on the official site. — [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 17:26, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

All of the "Helpful hints" are actually things that prevent you from doing certain things (I would, in fact, rename the heading, though to what I don't know). "Look X" is not preventing you from doing anything, and half of the "Look X" commands are hints (some more than others). Thus, I see no reason "Look Kerrek" should be in "Helpful hints". --{{User:Jay/sig}} 21:16, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

[edit] Organization

This page would be much better if it was organized somehow. It's a pain having to hunt through every response to see if something is added or not. I'm thinking alphabetically, with bullets for each response. Any thoughts? Crystallina 04:52, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I'm on it. And please, for the love of Strong Bad, SIGN YOUR POSTS. Thank you. -MK and/or BurnBox 02:36, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Whoops. Sorry about that, forgot the tildes. I'll help out some, since I'm already here... Just a few questions while I'm editing. I notice you have a # - is this the de facto 'Miscellaneous' option or should one be added? Glancing over the list of unsorted facts there are some that would fit into that category... Also, a few of them seem to fit better under the Fun Facts section rather than responses. Crystallina 04:52, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

New question. Do we want the actual responses or will that be too 'spoiler-y'? The facts are inconsistent in this. Crystallina 17:37, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • Thy Dungeonman has the responses, so I'm going to go ahead and add the responses here as well. Or at least start on it. Crystallina 02:42, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] almost done

Ok, I made all the letters organized like the letter A (Bullets and stuff). Now all we need to do is to clear this "Miscellaneous" part. I'm not much of a PQ player, so if any one can get those varified quickly, it would be much aprishiated. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 10:52, 3 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Points Responses

Do we want to list the responses to actions that aquire points (such as "close drawer" when it is open)?SparkPlug 19:38, 24 November 2005 (UTC)

Yes. Which has been done. — talk Bubsty edits 18:58, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

Why is this only the negative responses?

Annony, can you elaborate on what you mean? I R F 16:24, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] wheres the funniest bit of the whole freaking game

the script when the baby goes off 2 live a life of its own and blame rather dashing? --220.233.125.119 07:58, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

It looks to me like these are responses to non-productive actions, i.e., those that don't actually help you make any progress in the game. So, that's why that line isn't there. I think. Heimstern Läufer 08:02, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Well than shouldn't we at least put them somewhere? It makes sense to put them somewhere on the wiki. --68.249.171.209 18:43, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Unless I'm missing something, they aren't on the wiki, which is a major oversight... We should definitely transcribe those and give them a page, perhaps at Peasant's Quest Walkthrough Responses if we don't want to make Peasant's Quest Walkthrough too long. Should we make a separate page, or combine it with this one? Trey56 19:17, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Hmm, both ideas have their merits... I think the Thy Dungeonman responses mix in all of them. They do it by area, but I guess ours is alphabetical here... --DorianGray
I'm going to go ahead and put them in walkthrough order, and put them somewhere, (probably in a new section on Peasant's Quest Walkthrough), and we can move them later if desired. Trey56 06:56, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Sounds like a plan. --DorianGray
Okay, here's my rough draft. Anyone's welcome to proofread, revise, reformat, or move those as they see fit. Trey56 09:20, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
What about the whole spiel by the knight about not smelling and being on fire? --DorianGray
So, I only put down the messages you get by doing things you had to do. But that was just for a start; the one you mentioned, and others, should go in, as soon as I, or somebody else, gets around to it, unnecessary comma. :) Trey56 05:49, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
I would, but I'm lazy. --DorianGray

[edit] Crank rusted in place

Recently I discovered that when you type "look crank" you get the response "It looks rusted in place". I added this to the responses but someone deleted it, believeing it to be not real. So I took a screenshot to prove its realty. --Eric Mushroom Wilson

When does this occur? After the Kerrek Rain would make sense... --DorianGray
I think it happens any time as long as you haven't put the pebbles in the bucket and got the maskus... --Eric Mushroom Wilson

[edit] Table of Contents

Is there a way to add the TOC with just the five major sections at the top? That would include Walkthrough Messages, The Three Keepers' Messages, Constructive Conversations, Useful Documents, and Miscellaneous Messages. This page is ridiculously long, so it would be nice to have links to each of the sections at the top without including the links to each of the letters in the last section. We could do it manually, I guess, but then we'd have to update it if any further sections are added... Trey56 03:04, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Somehow the use of the alpha index spoils it. I wish I could see an immediate fix. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:08, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Well, you could fake it and hard-code something in the page that just looks like the TOC, like Songs used to have... it won't have the show/hide link, and it won't auto-update when you add new sections, but it'll work. --phlip TC 03:23, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Good idea — added. Trey56 03:31, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Extra Misc. Messages

There are at least two other messages in the game that don't relate to the walkthrough, and aren't the result of a specific typed message, and I don't know where to put them. None of the categories seem to fit.

Typing anything — be it an otherwise real response or complete gibberish — while the pot is on your head will give the response:

You need to get out of there before that smelly octogenarian gets back.

If you enter any screen other than the Jhonka's cave whilst disguised as a haystack, the wind will blow away your disguise:

Drat. The winds are heavy on all but a couple of key screens... looks like you're no longer in stealth mode.

As they aren't conversations, notes, or areas, are not necessary to complete the game, and do not appear as a reply to a specific text command, they don't fit any of the other categories on the page, and I dunno where to put 'em. Ideas? --DorianGray

Hm...we could lump these two together with the conversations and notes into something like "Miscellaneous Quest-related Messages"? Or we could think up a new category for the two you brought up. But since the conversations and notes sections were sort of artificially contrived anyway, I lean towards the lumping approach. Trey56 05:28, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
