Am I the only one who thinks it sounds like Homestar, at the end of his Fresh Orientation, says "'''G! G!''' N! U!"? smells like dead what now?

can anyone tell what the last 2 words in the easter egg conversation are? -- Neumannz 06:29, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Danzut? That's the only thing I can think of, but I've never been to Turkey, so I don't know if it smells bad or not.

It sounds like "dead-zuh" to me. Or possibly "deadzert". You know, like "dessert", only dead. --DorianGray 06:38, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
I don't know why, but I heard "tion". like air condi"tion" pronounced shun.--Crudely Drawn Cupcake 13:16, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
I heard "dim sum" which would correlate with Coach Z's "kimchi." ---Ransom (--68.123.102.158 02:25, 25 August 2009 (UTC))
My take was "desert" (vs. "dessert"), but that too doesn't make any sense. But surely there's something better than "zut." I mean, Occam's razor, amiright? AbdiViklas 14:19, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Ppice

How do we know it's a goof? Maybe Bubs ran out of r's. Don't forget the Conces5ion Stand. 121.209.148.49 07:59, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

It's clearly a cloth sign with the letters printed on. You can't "run out" in such an instance.
On the other hand, I do agree. Perhaps move it to Remarks if TBC don't fix it within a couple days. --DorianGray 08:02, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Maybe it was painted on. Maybe TBC deliberately did that and had Bubs "forget" the R's tail--Dollaroo 16:46, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
I thought the PP was connected to P^2. -132.183.140.243 17:25, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
I thought that too. — It's dot com 17:56, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
I, however, think that's kind of a reach. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 18:44, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Not sure where to put this...

Strong Bad says himself, Homestar and Coach Z are all fully grown. SI.com!

Sounds like something that could be mentioned on Characters' Ages. --DorianGray 08:22, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Smoking Crayon

In the first scene, before Coach Z walks up, the crayon Strong Bad smokes (or pretends to smoke) is emitting smoke like a real cigaret. However, as soon as Strong Bad points out it's fake, there is no more smoke to be seen. Should this be noted as a goof, a trivia or just in the script? --Cass from Germany 09:52, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Furthermore, the crayon disappears altogether as the toon progresses even further. --DorianGray 09:54, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Quit likely that he puts it back into hammerspace. Not sure about the smoke though --ftr

The Sausage Race

The thing where the mascots run around the field seems to be a reference to the Miller Park (Milwaukee baseball) race where various hot dogs, sausages, etc. run a lap around the field. I'd put the reference up myself, but I don't have the time to look stuff up.

They have mascot races at just about every baseball park. free 12:06, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Not at mine. At least, not to my knowledge. but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 00:59, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
The only two Major League Baseball stadiums that have mascot races to the best of my knowledge (and I'm a pretty big baseball fan) are the Sausage Race at Miller Park (Milwaukee Brewers), and the President Race at Nationals Park (Washington Nationals), which, given it's a relatively new team and stadium, was clearly based on the much older Sausage Race. Both are already mentioned in the fun facts, as well. -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 01:17, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Nonsense. There's the Dot Race (Texas Rangers), the bottle race (Tampa Bay Rays), the condiments race (no really; Kansas City Royals), the tools race (Atlanta Braves), and maybe more. Even more clubs have races on the video board only (and a lot of the live races originated in video form). I would have linked a third one, but those two Wikipedia pages are the only ones on the subject I found. — It's dot com 16:47, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

the Bumbling Mascot Race Around The Field!

Anyone notice that strong bad doesn't close his face door thingie when they do the bumbling mascot race around the field?--Crudely Drawn Cupcake 13:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

I noticed that. Also that it changes sides whenever Strong Bad turns around so that it's always "upstage" to the viewer. And that the clown frill and tie had to be moved lower down when compared to its original appearence in part-time job so that the door thingie could fit. Don't know if any of these are quite worth mentioning on the page, though. --Belthazar 13:37, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Kid Quote.

After listening closely with my Skullcandy's on, I think the kid says "mommy, I can't see" 168.179.160.72 14:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

"Chase" Music

Just so there isn't a big debate over this... the song sung while the mascots run around the field ISN'T "Yakety Sax", the theme from Benny Hill. This is a piece of music called "Bond Street" (I believe?) composed by Burt Bacharach for the 1967 version of 'Casino Royale'. As I noted in my edit, this is the same music used for Stewie's "sexy parties". -Steve

Not even close. "Bond Street" does not sound like that; it has a slower tempo and sounds like an ersatz Bond theme (which, it is). The song in the short is clearly "Yakety Sax" (or attempt to recreate it there of). wbwolf (t | ed) 15:34, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
"Yakety Sax"
Sexy party clip Definitely not "Bond Street" wbwolf (t | ed) 15:46, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
The melody of the two is pretty close. But different enough to count. And "Bond Street" is not the song known for "silly" chases. It's clearly "Yakety Sax". --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 16:02, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
I don't really see the resemblance to Yakety Sax. I think I've heard something that went along with this toon somewhere in the Homstar Runner Universe, actually, but it's vague, and maybe it's not Homestar Runner-related at all. Soiled Bargains (talk|ctrb) 21:15, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
I really don't see how there is an arguement over this. It is clearly meant to at least sound like Yakety Sax, seeing as how it is played when a bunch of characters are running around. Monkeytender 21:49, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
I definitely hear reference to "Yakety Sax" (i didn't know it was called that until today), especially in the second half of the first line and the first half of the second line. outside of that is a bit more vague, but since that is a random chase song, i think it was the intention. what really had me confused was why tbc were talking after the toon and after the easter egg. The Knights Who Say Ni 21:54, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
I've heard this song before, it's a -version- of Yakkety Sax that's actually noticeably different from the usual version, that tends to be used more in this setting. Compare the version heard in "Close-up animals with a wide-angle lens" from South Park. Really most of the notes are different, but it progresses so similarly.

Pickle?

Should we change the wording for the explanation of kimchi? I think the term "pickle" may confuse others into thinking that kimchi is a Korean cucumber even though it's actually pickled vegetables.--Dollaroo 16:30, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

To most people, a "pickle" means "pickled vegetables", e.g. branston pickle, picallili (spelling?) etc. I think it's clear enough as it is. -Ftr
That's not true. Pretty much everyone i know, myself included uses "pickles" to mean the cucumbered variety. — Defender1031*Talk 06:27, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
"Pickle" meaning cucumber style is mostly North American usage (even though there are things like pickled okra etc.). Pickle meaning any pickled veg is more usual in Europe and Australia. The clarification is fine now. wbwolf (t | ed) 13:49, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Child's Voice

Anyone maybe got any info on where the child's voice came from? It sounds surprisingly like a real child, which would imply that the source is one of the "Little Girls," but I think it's also possible that it could have been Matt sped up. If the voice *is* someone other than Matt, that would be interesting, and would merit mentioning in the article. 66.32.126.171 14:36, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

It could possibly be Matt and missy's son
It could possibly be any kid in the greater atlanta area. Or it could possibly be matt sped up. Or mike. Or a sound clip taken from somewhere else. There's really no way to know. — Defender1031*Talk 19:52, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
They usually reveal these kinds of things in DVD commentaries. free 23:35, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
For the record: Matt's not married to Missy, Mike is; and Matt and Mike both have one daughter; neither of them has a son. The Knights Who Say Ni 23:46, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Does it bother anyone else that we keep this close track of people's lives that we're bound to never meet?
The same way everyone keeps track of anyone famous. Those are what paparazzi, tabloids, and celebrity news shows like TMZ are for! It just a part of life to know exactly what everyone else is doing!....... Yeah, it does kinda bother me.--Dollaroo 14:54, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Smoker

  • Although Strong Bad denies being a smoker, he's been seen to smoke a cigar in Store Thank You Message.

Is this necessary? My dad has smoked a cigar before, but he's not a smoker!--Crudely Drawn Cupcake 22:45, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

The Cheat, ANOTHER ezpensive light, please. --Jellote wuz here 23:14, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
My experiences on the topic are: just b/c you see someone smoking once doesn't mean they're a smoker. If you see them smoking on two different occasions, then you can infer that the person is a smoker. Since we've only actually seen strong bad smoking once, my vote is remove. The Knights Who Say Ni 23:17, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
The store messages aren't the same kind of canon as toons, in my opinion. I also tend to agree with cupcake; I know lots of people (both real and fictional characters) who enjoy a cigar once in a blue moon but don't habitually smoke cigarettes. Still, I'm not sure it's not remarkable. — It's dot com 23:21, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
I think it should stay. While what has been said is true, the fact as reads is also true. We're not inferring that SB is or isn't a smoker, we're just noting that he doesn't identify one while also noting that he has indeed been seen smoking at least once. -128.103.10.135 02:35, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
He doesn't say he was a frequent smoker, just that he does. Not nessisarily meaning often. --Jellote wuz here 15:30, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Given that we have two conflicting ideas of what he says and the fact that i hear nothing out of the ordinary, it seems clear that the first sound is just a bit hard to hear.
