What's the source for the fun fact at the bottom? --Upsilon 21:11, 2 Nov 2004 (MST)

Just what the fact says - mouse over the H*R logo in the upper left corner of the main page to go to the museum and poke around in there. --Southpaw018 16:00, 2 Nov 2004 (MST)
You misunderstand; I was referring to the part that says "The Brothers Chaps have said that this was an idea they had early in the site's development but threw it out, so it is not really a "fact" anymore." --Upsilon 17:04, 6 Nov 2004 (MST)

Unnamed Girl

If Unnamed Girl is a main character on H*R, why aren't the girls in Teen Girl Squad also main characters? Should the reference to her in "...the only female main character on the site (excepting the Unnamed Girl and Marzipan's 20x6 and 1936 counterparts)" be taken out? --oddtodd 16:31, 16 Nov 2004 (MST)

I beleive the reason for that is that the girls in Teen Girl Squad live in their own universe apart for the H*R world (except for the glitch in virus). On the other hand the Unnamed Girl interacts with Homestar and Strong Bad in her appearances as if she was part of their world.
Moreover, I think it should be important to mention that the fact that Marzipan is the only girl, is likely a parody on the Smurfs. --Stux 18:13, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Marzipan's Hair Color

Answering machine 12.2 (newest one) has Marzipan leaving herself a prank call telling herself that her hair is not her natural color. I can't tell if this is 'true' or not... did anybody interpret that as being something that could be added to Marzipan's fact page? --Meepers 01:16, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • I don't think so - she was just poorly imitating other people (most notably Strong Bad) who have a tendancy to leave her fake messages. --Jay (Talk) 01:17, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, you're probly Right. Marzipan is just a poor, poor fool. The King of Town does a better Strong Bad than her.And that's a bad, bad Strong bad KOT does.--Gir007 00:03, 13 February 2006 (UTC)Gir007A.K.A Zaak

Velma Dinkley

What? Where the crap did this come from? --Gafaddict 00:43, 24 May 2005 (UTC)

It's 100% legit. As my note says there is (or at least was) a secret page that showcased the 2001 Halloween costumes - only some of them (Marzipan as Velma, Coach Z as a Noid, and Pom Pom as The Skipper) were later changed. I have a screenshot on my computer. Want me to load it? --Jay (Talk) 00:48, 24 May 2005 (UTC)
Very yes. --TROGGA! 00:49, 24 May 2005 (UTC)
Very loaded. --Jay (Talk) 00:53, 24 May 2005 (UTC)
Your wish = my command
I'll go with that. --Gafaddict 01:14, 24 May 2005 (UTC)
Awesome find! Is this going on the Halloween Costumes page? (I love Coach Z as the Noid!) Aurora the Homestar Coder 02:25, 24 May 2005 (UTC)
I knew about it a LONG time ago, even before I knew about the Wiki (I was CERTAIN it was on the Secret Pages page but I can't find it there, even in the History.) If you want to break apart the three alternate costumes and include them on Halloween Costumes, be my guest. --Jay (Talk) 03:00, 24 May 2005 (UTC)
After some hunting around, I think this might be the page but it's not loading fully (as secret pages tend not to for some reason. Do the linked pages actually get more bandwidth than the unlinked ones?) --Jay (Talk) 03:33, 24 May 2005 (UTC)
To answer your question: No, probably not. The blank square means that shockwave is trying to access an .SWF that does not exist. You'll get a 404 if you link to it directly. I tried looking at the known mirrors, but they don't have it either. Good Luck! --Stux 18:34, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Legs?

Does she have legs or not? Its very hard to tell.. and she said she does and doesnt but which one??

Marzipan does not have legs. She even told TBC in the commentary of date. She said she just pretends she has legs.
Homestramy20 1:39 7 july, 2005

She doesn't have legs. But in "Ballad of The Sneak" on Shorts she has Pigtails. It's funny..she gets chased by The Sneak. Check it out sometime.--Gir007 00:05, 13 February 2006 (UTC)Gir007 A.K.A Zaak Back again. She has legs in Character Develpoment in some area of Homestar Runner.com.They look more like feet. And she had arms.WAY too human-like for Marzi, dont you agree?--Gir007 00:07, 13 February 2006 (UTC)Gir007(Zaak)

Her Name

Where do you think TBC got the idea to name her Marzipan? It's a very unusual name, and I have never heard it ever before in my life. Was it just made up or did they name her after somebody?

Marzipan -- tomstiff 19:04, 18 Aug 2005 (UTC)
  • I saw some of those when I was in Mexico several weeks ago. I didn't know they were real either. I was with someone who wanted to buy them as candies saying they were "little marzipans." They really were in the general shape of her body, so I asked her if she watched H*R and she asked me what that was. It was equally shocking to me that there existed such a thing with the name "Marzipan." NFITC1 18:19, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Smurfs

There is a minor mistake in the fun facts selection. It says that the only female smurf was Smurfette. Sassette was also a female smurf and was a pretty common character.

Since this comment from a month ago hasn't been addressed, I'll go ahead and make a tentative change noting that Smurfette was not the only female Smurf. Smurfette and Sassette were created by magic (the former by Gargamel, the latter by the younger Smurfs), but my memory can't recall if Nanny Smurf has an origin story or if it was just left unexplained. I'll also make it a bit more ambiguous as to whether Marzipan is the only female in the Homestar universe, while noting she's the only main character who is female. Feel free to clean up or revert my edit, as I'm still a wiki neophyte. Wiggy 16:22, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Whatcha tickin' bot; you did a great job of it. But... Why is this fact there at all? Did TBC ever say anything in an interview or commentary or the like linking her to the Smurfs? (That seems to lurk at the back of my mind.) 'Cause otherwise this is an acute case of TTATOT; it's as relevent as observing that Venus de Milo was the only female Turtle. —AbdiViklas 17:03, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
Feel free to delete; I didn't want to delete something that's been around since October without any discussion. My neutral rational for keeping is available on my talk page (shoulda read this reply first, but I'm at work and read things out of order ;). Perhaps this fact should be scrapped, let's just hear some opinions on it -Wiggy 19:48, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

A Crush on Strong Bad?

I think that Marzipan has a seceret crush on Strong Bad. I know in the email marzipan, she said she doesen't, but she's probobly too shy to tell Strong Bad she likes him. What do you think? Cheddarlebbon

I think that this topic is better suited for the forum :) Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 21:06, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Vegetarian or vegan?

Does anyone know whether Marzipan is only vegetarian, or is she a vegan? Vegan seems more in line with her animal rights activism, but I've only seen references to her being a vegetarian. I started wondering about this after watching Strong Bad is in Jail - I wondered if her baklava was vegan or not (since honey is not vegan, but not all baklava is made with honey). --H-ko 14:59, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
