[edit] The name of the game

Sooo... Is this article about the Easter egg or the comics produced using the Easter egg? It seems that the name of the Easter egg would be "Make-O Your Own Stinko", while the comics are called "Stinkoman Sunday Fun Talk". This article reads as if it's about the Easter egg, so I suggest we move it to Make-O Your Own Stinko. Loafing 05:44, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

I think both names are fine and either one applies. You can't have the comic without the tool, and the tool is pointless without the web comic result. I see them as two sides of the same coin. I'm not sure I believe that "Make-O Your Own Stinko" is the name of the comic generator — what if it's just the page title? That's what it sounds like to me, at least — one of the little page titles TBC put on their toons/games that doesn't quite correspond to the toon/game name. So, I lean toward keeping the article at the the name of the comic strip as well. Trey56 04:31, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

I lean in Trey's direction. Neither title is really definitive: one is a page title and thus would generally be given less weight than a title "within the frame", so to speak, while the other seems to apply to the finished product rather than the entire process. Make-O Your Own Stinko!

I think Qermaq's idea of having an example comic that's taken from elements of the wiki is a good idea, but I wondered to myself if there was a way it could be done from the article space rather than the talk space. I think the result I came up with is neutral, informative, and representative of the game's various features. — It's dot com 04:01, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

If we're going to have a fan-made comic in the article, this is my favorite one so far: I like that it uses the four panels to inform about the features of the comic generator, which is the purpose of this page, anyhow. If TBC post any fan-made strips through Weekly Fanstuff or the like, I think we should consider updating the image, though. But who knows if that'll ever happen. Nice work! I agree that this should be mentioned as a reference to the Malinko line. If something as vague as "..." can be listed as a reference to under construction, I think this qualifies. People seem to be feeling pretty strongly about this; I have a feeling it's going to make it to STUFF. I say it's not a reference. I agree with DeFender1031; it's just a rhyme of some words ending in o. Coincidence. OptimisticFool 20:22, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

It's not just that Stinko and Malinko both end in o, the similarity is in the fact that both were made into phrases with the same structure. Both are imperative sentences which start with a verb, to which an o has been added to mirror the final o, and both go {verb} {adj./adv.} {noun}. They're almost completely parallel. Also, thanks for compiling this all into one category. And on a completely unrelated note, I notice that the "..." reference has now been removed. It seems it's actually a reference to "Make-a Your Own Pumpakin", which has been the page title of the Punkin Stencils page since 2004 (according to the Wayback Machine). Do we add the reference? OptimisticFool 06:26, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

On or around October 15, this page underwent some additions. A few extra enemies (ones from Level 9) were added, along with the Stinkowing. As well, it looks like stars were added to the Level 5 background (making it more like the scrolling shooter games menu screen). Also added were the ability to MS Paint your way to a non-punchline (a new button, which adds poor MS Paint to the panel. Five different scribbles in all, including one of Trogdor). Another addition was the "Name" button, which lets you alter the byline from "Stonk Bad" to anything you want to type in. Upon viewing the comic, two other changes can be noticed: an addition of "Totally Not" in front of the copyright date, and the byline is altered and randomised, with phrases like "ripped off", "poorly concieved", and "baby got stole". Finally, a title screen was added, cementing the name as (at least) Make-o Your Own Stinko(man) Sprite Comic Generator. I thought that was a reference to "load bearing" bosses that destroy the fort/castle/dungeon when you kill them.

Off topic, but for crying out loud, could the image code be any more indecipherable?

[edit] Flipping an image

Being a math major, I just noticed something about this game: when it gives you the option to flip the image, "X" flips it about the Y axis (i.e. faces the other way), and "Y" flips it about the X axis (i.e. turns it upside down). In my field, this is counter-intuitive. Is this a notable remark? The Knights Who Say Ni 05:02, 9 August 2012 (UTC) (edited 19:13, 9 August 2012 (UTC))

Pressing X, for instance, flips it about the Y axis, but it flips it along the X axis, which is just as good a way of describing the transform (in fact, it's more relevant when you start talking about actually building the transform, computer-graphics side, or if you start talking about 3D stuff)... I for one find pressing X to do a horizontal flip to be entirely intuitive. --phlip ^T_C 12:55, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
