Is there an update to homestarrunner.com?
If so, please add it to the updates page. If you're not sure how to do that, then just post a note on this page, and we'll take care of the rest. Thanks!

Lack of updates
For anybody wondering why there have been no updates for a while: The bottom line is, we don't know. There is a thread on the forums where people are calmly and rationally discussing the possibilities. Here is the link. Any further discussion on Wiki Talk pages may be removed. Thank you for your patience. —BazookaJoe 17:02, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Wiki title
I think we should move this page to Homestar Runner Wiki (click the link to see what it could look like). That way, it will show the actual title of the wiki instead of boring ol' "Main Page" (which of course would be left as a redirect). The MediaWiki front page is an excellent example of how it could be. — It's dot com 01:24, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- I really like the idea. It shows exactly who we are upon entering. If I was in charge, I'd've done it from th' start. --DorianGray
- I also support the idea, maybe we should make Main Page a dis. page, though, for Main Pages and Homestar Runner Wiki. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 01:30, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Rogue Leader: Main Page and Talk:Main Page would have to redirect to the respective Homestar Runner Wiki pages, due to the amount of links to them, both internal and external. — It's dot com 01:34, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Complete Support: The Main Page talks about The Homestar Runner Wiki not Main Page --Dacheatbot · Communicate 01:44, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- It's dot com: That can be accomplished simply by changing the text of MediaWiki:Mainpage from "Main Page" to "Homestar Runner Wiki". — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 01:56, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Heh. Yes, I know. :) I wanted people to be able to see a preview without being too drastic. — It's dot com 02:06, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- I like your idea, Dot com. I'm surprised nobody ever thought of this before. — Seriously (Talk) 02:08, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- I support leaving it Main Page. Most to all MediaWiki wikis (257,000,000 at this moment) leave the title as the default. This page is the sole exception to the "articles are in the main namespace" rule, and giving it a different title would make it seem as if this was an article about the Homestar Runner Wiki (remember, we already have an article for that at HRWiki:A History). This is the main page of the wiki, it's our cover page and our table of contents. It's not the Homestar Runner Wiki. The entire wiki is the Homestar Runner Wiki. (I also never liked it when our main page was called HomestarRunnerWiki way back when.) -- Tom 02:14, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Most to all wikis use Main Page because they either don't know they can change it or don't have the access. I myself didn't know until I saw MediaWiki. If we're going to have one exception in the main namespace, shouldn't it be such that the title of the wiki can be on the front page? — It's dot com 02:23, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, isn't there some sort of weird developer stuff (I know, I'm vague) that you could do to change the description at the top from "Article" to "Main Page"? I think that would solve the whole problem. — Seriously (Talk) 02:39, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with seriously. Although I like Its dot comes Idea.--H*Bad 03:25, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Following with what Tom said, I completely disagree that Main Page should be changed to Homestar Runner Wiki. The front page is not the whole wiki, it's just the main page. It has links to the other pages that make up the Homestar Runner Wiki. The pratical use of a "Homestar Runner Wiki" page would be to talk about HRWiki, which would go under the HRWiki: namespace, therefore calling itself HRWiki:About, which we already have. — Lapper (talk) 03:27, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Although it would be rater inconvenient. It may just be me, but that seems like to long of a title for the Main Page.--H*Bad 03:31, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Lapper: I think you're splitting hairs here. The reason for the change isn't so that we have an article about the wiki itself, it's so that the words "Homestar Runner Wiki" will appear, as a title like in that link, at the top of the page all professional-like. I suppose one could make a case that a page called "Homestar Runner Wiki" is just fine for a table of contents of the wiki, and certainly "Talk:Homestar Runner Wiki" would be a good change, since the page is devoted to general discussion about wiki matters and isn't really used much to talk about the contents or format of the front page. — It's dot com 03:43, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- It looks much better as Main Page. That might confuse some users.(Not too sure about that, but maybe.) Plus it already says Homestar Runner Wiki on it.--H*Bad 03:50, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm happy with leaving it as Main Page. Sort of a "If it ain't broke..." type mentality, but at the same time I think it looks better and is more common and descriptive as it is. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 07:08, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
