(Ummm... nice, but irrelevant)
(Wait a sec, Jay. She's saying that she thinks that this song is a reference to another song. Someone should look into that before removing this comment.)

I don't think I count as a user here anymore (or at least I don't feel like signing in), but I just stopped by to see how the hrwiki was doing in this strange period of inactivity. And then I wondered if you guys caught the reference to the song "Back in the Day" by Ahmad. I guess not. Well, I know TBC has a thing for 80's rap, so I'm assuming that's what they were referencing. But hey, what do I know? Nothing. - I once was [[User:Alice|Alice]].

List?

Should we make a list of all of the toons (in order) that these loading screens come from? OpenSourceGreg 01:50, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Well, several loading screens are used for more than one toon, but we need to do SOMETHiNG about this. free 01:53, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm working on it now. OpenSourceGreg 01:59, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Would this be a "visuals" article? 24.63.145.232 02:00, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, maybe. OpenSourceGreg 02:14, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Alright, I am maybe a quarter of the way done. I would like to post it here, because I honestly cannot be bothered doing much more of this on my own, it takes ages and I think I broke my wrist have an assignment I need to do. So, can someone advise me on how to post it, and where? OpenSourceGreg 02:49, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

picture

I think that the picture "fully loaded" would work better. Agree? OpenSourceGreg 03:35, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

  • No, not really, because the picture of the basic loading screen signifies that it is all loading screens. -Crudely Drawn Cupcake

Missing a few?

I noticed something. There's at least one loading screen missing! Hremail 7's loading screen is MIA! There's actually probably more than one...

Yeah, going through them for Loading Screens Visuals I found a bunch that weren't included... I think there's too many to include in a Fun Fact, though. If it was only a handful, then sure... --phlip TC 11:57, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Maybe a page should be made, or a list of which ones were missing somewhere. anyone? -Crudely Drawn Cupcake

Here are the ones I could find that had a loading screen that wasn't included: 4 Gregs, Hremail 7 (although a lot like "old Homestar, tap that foot"), from work (Corpy loading screen), One Two, One Two (and the Mix-Masta), KOT's VOQPCS, The Li'l Brudder Show, Lookin' at a Thing in a Bag, First Time Here? (a lot like Fluffy Puff Commercial though), Happy Trogday, Trogday '08, Decemberween Kids' Book, Decemberween Sweet Cuppin' Cakes, all Puppet Stuff, all Character Videos, Super NES, Lappynapped!, Broken Compy Menu

I know the last two aren't on the site anymore, but neither is Eggs, and Non-Sequitur Champion never was. --TimMierz 21:49, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

What about the loading screen in games? Should we just include the missing loading screens from cartoons? -Philip8o 21:55, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
I think that they intentionally only did cartoons and such (although the Yearbook character page is on there...) --TimMierz 22:37, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

There is a Teen Girl Squad loading screen included in the toon. Should that count for all of the issues, or should the ones with different backgrounds (e.g. Teen Girl Squad Issue 7) be listed in the "not included" section? The letters and pattern and everything is the same, but the background paper is different. --DorianGray 04:47, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

I think that TGS7 should be included in the "not included" list. I'll go do that now. --TimMierz 15:28, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Fast Forward

So... are we going to have to put a fast forward on every single page that has a loading screen featured in this short? -Philip8o 21:53, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

I don't think that would be necessary... we don't include "The word ______ from this email is re-used in rock opera" on every email before then, do we? — Defender1031*Talk 22:07, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
I actually disagree, DeFender. There's a difference between the same word appearing twice and the same loading screen appearing. I see it as being sort of like the sound effects page. Monkeytender 22:47, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
It's not just the same word, it's the same clip. A better example might have been 160 Seconds. — Defender1031*Talk 23:13, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Putting a fast forward would be rather time-consuming, so, as discussed above, making a list may be much less extensive. (but still, in my book, very time consuming unless you have a photographic memory of every loading screen)--Dollaroo 05:22, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Inside Reference

I tried editing the page, but I couldn't get any of the capchas. Any of them. So, something about Coach Z rapping? Yah?

Yeah. Isn't this, like, the first time Coach Z successfully free-styled it? --Dollaroo 05:01, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
didn't he successfully free-style in an easter egg in being mean though? not sure if that's notable, or this if that one doesn't count since i don't think he finished that one The Knights Who Say Ni 00:25, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Now that I think of it, I'm not sure if either counts as freestyle, since you have to make it up on the spot. In being mean, knowing that the whole play was obviously rehearsed, he may have written the lines before. The same goes here. On the other hand, since the song in being mean doesn't have a lot of different words, it could be freestyle. I'll need input from others to make up my mind.(I hope I'm not breaking any rules by speculating)--Dollaroo 05:12, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Coach Z's voice sounds different to me... maybe he's just talking (rapping) faster, but I almost wonder if the other Chapman did it or something... anyone? -Jdhannan

kindofasortofanidea!

this might be a stupid idea, but... Maybe there's a reason why this toon has better sound quality? Why??? I'll tell you why! The Loading screens song could be put up for download? User:Terminal D6

Yeah... OR it could just be a well recorded song. Does everything need to mean something else? I think it is just a kawinkyink, and I never noticed it until the wiki pointed it out? {unnesicary question mark} If it is ever put up for downloads, though, you can make me tell you that you-were-right-and-I was-wrong as many times as you'd like. Strong Sad?

Am I crazy, or did I hear Strong Sad during the part that began with the email loading screens? --68.99.241.181 22:46, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that's just Coach Z singing with his usual speech impediment. But you're partly right: it does sound kind of high-pitched and soft.--Jellote wuz here 22:51, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

An observation

"So much more of Coach Z that remains to be seen". Anyone think there could be some significance to that line? Maybe Coach Z will be more prominent in an upcoming toon or something?--Nick??? 04:43, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Sounds like a good topic for the forum. --DorianGray 04:50, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Total Load

One of the inside references here lists that Strong Bad is singing about Total Load the product. I think this is more likely just a use of the word total - he's refering to the loading screens, not the powder. SnappySoda 02:19, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

It's a dual reference. Like it says there, Yes, your meaning is true, but Total Load is also a H*R running joke. — Defender1031*Talk 02:23, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
