The Decatur address is for a store tucked next to a bowling alley inside a strip mall. All the glass is frosted, and it has two doors, one marked "BUSINESS" and the other "PLEASURE". Nobody was there when I went by, but I could see the box for the "G.I. Joe Mobile Commando" something or other pressed against the glass. I could also faintly make out outlines of brightly colored toys. The Adjacent Stairwell has a directory that lists "Harmless Junk" Between a Dentists' Office and a Watch Repair place.

On the back of the Strong Bad Sings vinyl, there's small copyright text reading: "HomestarRunner® Property of Harmless Junk, Inc. © 2020. All Rights Reserved". This is interesting as I don't recall ever seeing camelcase before - either "homestarrunner.com" or "Homestar Runner".

You can see this in the (low-res) [https://img.discogs.com/YdA1NF1jo3nsJsg2qq3HSFg7gaM=/fit-in/600x598/filters:strip_icc():format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(90)/discogs-images/R-17708911-1617839560-9361.jpeg.jpg image from Discogs]. Interestingly there is also a stylized "homestar runner.com" ''with'' a space printed on the back!

Anyways - not sure if this is notable (or if this is the right page to mention it - I chose here because of its context as a copyright b/w HJI) but I thought I oughta share. --{{User:Bleu Ninja/sig}} 16:35, 4 June 2021 (UTC)

[edit] Trademark Information

After a quick search (with "Harmless Junk, Inc" in the "Search Term:" field and "Owner Name and Address" in the "Field:" field) of the United States Patent and Trademark Office website, I was able to find the following:

Serial Number Reg. Number Word Mark Check Status Live/Dead
1 78382974 CHEAP AS FREE TARR LIVE
2 76502436 TARR LIVE
3 76481419 2859529 HOMESTAR RUNNER TARR LIVE
4 76481416 2859528 TARR LIVE
5 76502438 THE CHEAT TARR LIVE
6 76502437 MARZIPAN TARR DEAD
7 76481418 TARR LIVE
8 76566454 HR TARR LIVE
9 76502440 TARR LIVE
10 76481417 STRONG BAD TARR LIVE

I'm no lawyer, but I don't see the date of September 24, 2004 when I go into the individual page for The Cheat. The filing date for The Cheat was March 31, 2003 and the Published for Opposition date was May 25, 2004. I've removed the trademark claim from the page, pending further research. -- Tom 17:03, 18 Oct 2004 (MST)

Upon further review, I've found that one of the unmarked Serial Numbers above (76502436) was for a drawing of The Cheat and was published for opposition on September 28, 2004. Of couse, I still don't know what that means. I'm thinking it would be great to have all of these listed on the page though, if someone who knows what they are doing would like to take a stab at it, that'd be great. -- Tom 17:30, 18 Oct 2004 (MST)

When a trademark is applied for, part of the process is to have the text or graphics printed in a journal for companies and individuals to review. This ensures that if another company is using a trademark previous to another companies filing, the first company will get preferred status. This is known as "Published for Opposition." Unlike a patent, which cannot be revealed publicly before filing, a trademark must be in use before an application can be completed. - Dr Haggis - Talk 18:38, 10 Jan 2005 (MST)

Ah ha. Very interesting indeed. -- Tom 19:29, 11 Jan 2005 (MST)

[edit] Google Local

I went on Google Local and typed in the address for Harmless Junk, Inc. It turns out that there is a normal, suburban house at that address. House of The Brothers Chaps, prehaps? (Rhyming not intended) Has Matt? (talk) 01:37, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Possibly. Here's a satelite picture. -AtionSong 14:53, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Further research on Local finds that typing in the address will yield a link to the Homestarrunner.com homepage. However, this contradicts their statement in the Flashforward interview saying they live in Decatur, Georgia. This is getting confusing. Has Matt? (talk) 03:07, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

Compare the date for beginning to sell t-shirts here with the one here. I'm more included to belive the store started in 2001 as well. Can anybody back up the 2000 date? Thunderbird 16:09, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Correct Address

Which is the correct address? The "5675 Durrett Ct" address appears more frequently, and is on the US trademark pages. However, a Google search for "Harmless Junk" "888421" brings up only here and a couple fansites. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 16:58, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
