Figured one out?

This one wasn't on the list. I believe part of the ketchup bottle at the very beginning of Summer Short Shorts is French Script MT. Probably not worth mentioning though; I however like taking screenshots of random things like this and implementing them on desktop backgrounds. I guess it's information though! ;-) -- The Cinnamonny 37!!! 01:01, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
I think the navbar is just Arial. That's what I'm using in the mirror stylesheets. See jumpinjacks2.html for an example. -- Tom 12:45, 7 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I think the Thnikkaman's chorus might be Cooper Black? --71.244.185.34 00:40, 12 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I read the new additions after adding the font Alba to the list...which was on one of the books. Anyway the sample of Alba on the book is much better than the example I'd had, so I've changed the entry accordingly. One down, a...lot to go. -- Xyzzyka 18:06, 22 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I think I've figured out the Stinko Man K 20X6 font. Playing Starcraft, one avid fan should realize that the font is Eurostar Black Extended. Am I right or am I right? -MK and/or BurnBox 00:23, 30 Sep 2005 (UTC)
EDIT: Okay, so I tried whatthefont.com, and I came down to these fonts:
  • Microgramma EF Medium Extended
  • Microgramma Medium Extend
  • Aggie URW T Normal
  • Microgramma D Medium Extended
  • Eurostile T Regular Extended

I think the credits from Japanese Cartoon is Times or Times New Roman--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 14:57, 8 Oct 2005 (UTC)

I am certain the font for the chalk on the computer screen is either called Eraser or DS Eraser but I don't know which one is the official name. -Jenny 05:14, 21 October 2005 (UTC)

I think Bubs's banner was just using the paintbrush tool. -FaceCrap 01:24, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Which Banner? SaltyTalk! 01:42, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
Never mind. I was thinking of the 'Coach Z You Jerk' thing. Not the Happy Thanksgiving banner. Though the font looks familiar from the site... -FaceCrap 13:37, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
I think the font on the Cheat Commandos box is Weltron Urban. Whatever2965

I'm pretty sure (though not positive) that the "idelectrix" part of Videlectrix is Square 721. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 23:48, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey, I was messing around with a flash decomplier and it said that the font for the Block is Nokia 5110 fontset, so I did a search for it to see if this correct, while it was, in the 50K Racewalker triva section they all ready said this, so I'll add it to the list. XDSesshoumaru CianXD

Weclome Back Fonts

Here's some fonts in Weclome Back (there might be some more, but these are only the ones that aren't on my system):

  • Abadi MT Condensed Extra Bold
  • Andy - merch masala sign
  • Arial Narrow (variation in list) - text on tour map
  • AvantGarde Md BT
  • Bauhaus Thin (variation in list) - "Mzp-440" on Marzipan's speaker thing
  • Cooper Black (already in list) - name of toon at start
  • MotterFemD
  • OCRB (already in list)
  • Script MT Bold (already in list) - "Marzipan" on Marzipan's speaker thing
  • TypewriterRough - font on timecard

I'd like to know what the font on the main symbol is, the h and r on either side of the star? --Buz

It looks alot like a modified Bauhaus to me. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 04:59, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
It is actually Bauhaus 93. ~PepperMinty

Links

This isn't linked to from anywhere, but it's useful information that I don't think is found anywhere else on the wiki, or perhaps I'm mistaken. — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 18:51, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

I have linked it a bit. I like fonts, and this makes a great page, and a great 1,000th article. Continue rocking on! - Dr Haggis - Talk

VOY DOT LCD

Does anybody know where I can find this font? I've searched the internet for it for about a month now, but haven't found anything. --Gafaddict 18:59, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

I know, there's no other web site that has it. I once tried to email TBC so they could send me a copy of the font, but no reply.
Please try again! I too am also desprate.
Good news! There's a font uncannily similar to VOY DOT LCD called "Bubbledot Fine Positive." Unfortunately, I keep running into font websites where they require you to pay for fonts to download them.

Thousandth article

This is the HR Wiki's 1,000th article. Just letting everybody know.

Uh, no it's not. We already determined Game Sightings was the 1,000th article. — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 17:32, 17 May 2005 (UTC)
Wait, did a few pages get deleted somewhere? I just checked the Special:Newpages page and it looks like this really is the thousandth article. Wow! I feel strangely honored to have been a part of this. I never imagined we'd reach a thousand articles back when I started the wiki. Good jorb, everyone! — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 18:13, 17 May 2005 (UTC)
No, I don't think it has anything to do with deleted pages. The number on the Main Page doesn't include pages marked as stubs, so as pages are marked and un-marked as stubs, the number changes accordingly. Game Sightings was the first page to be the 1,000th page. Fonts appears to be the 1,000th page right now, but if someone marked an article as a stub in a few minutes, the page created after Fonts (which right now is do over) would appear to be the 1,000th page. -- Tom 19:36, 18 May 2005 (UTC)

Font Examples

Would it be possible to write a little example of each font? I'm not much one for that sort of 'hacking, coding' type thing, so if anyone else wants to tackle it - provided it's possible to do so while still properly validated and whatnot, go right ahead. Thunderbird 18:44, 20 May 2005 (UTC)

I don't know where the "hacking, coding" comes in, but why not take a screenshot of each of the fonts as used on the site? — InterruptorJones 18:56, 20 May 2005 (UTC)
Ah right, that could work. I just meant hacking and coding as in 'you can't just change the font on the wiki with a little dropdown bar', at least I don't think you can... I just think it would look cleaner than screenshots. But if it's not possible, I'll get on the screenshots. Thunderbird 07:56, 21 May 2005 (UTC)
It's not possible. If you change the font of a bit of text on a web page, it only shows up in that font if the visitor has that font installed. Anyway, if you want it to look "cleaner", I just suggest that you make each screenshot the same dimensions. — InterruptorJones 20:51, 23 May 2005 (UTC)
I've now added previews. However they're not the same size, and they could be presented better. But, at least we have previews for now. «Rob» 11:59, 28 May 2005 (UTC)
And now I've put it all in a table. «Rob» 02:31, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

I think the examples should look more like this:

Image:500px-Times New Roman sample.svg.png

--TROGGA! 19:33, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

Ugh! The old font samples were way superior. First, they didn't take up as much space. Second, they provided a better context for the fonts. If someone wants to see all the characters of a font, they should go to Wikipedia or MyFonts.com. Reverting... — It's dot com 07:01, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)
And on a side note, does it not ruin the entire point of the Quick Brown Fox if you Capitalize Every Single Word? --Jay (Talk) 07:05, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Which, as I can see, is not what happened in the last edit. My bad. I'm actually kinda siding with the big Quick Brown Fox blocks... --Jay (Talk) 07:07, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)
We don't need to see every character, which only serves to stretch out the table so it doesn't fit on one or one and a half screens. What is better is to see how each font is used on the site in a representative screenshot. — It's dot com 07:13, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I do see where you're coming from, and I don't care enough to argue the point. But I also see where Trogga and The Paper are coming from. --Jay (Talk) 07:16, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I think the "Quick brown fox" examples are too big. Having screenshots of the fonts in use on H*R.com is better because you can see where its used (even if they are all different sizes). «Rob» 07:55, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)

External Links

Shouldn't there be a link to a spot to download the font? EDSMILDE

That would be ideal. However, before doing so make sure that the font is free. This will take some research because a lot of fonts that aren't meant to be free are available illegally on some free font sites, and linking to those is out of the question. In other words, just because a font is on some free font site doesn't mean that it's legal, so be very very careful. — InterruptorJones 21:03, 23 May 2005 (UTC)

Additional fonts used on main pages?

I've found a few fonts that aren't on this page, but are used somewhere on the Homsar Main Page. I downloaded the .fla of the main page from one of the fansites, but when I open it in Flash, it tells me that I do not have the following fonts installed:
Bauhaus-Thin: The menu page buttons (i.e. Toons, Games, Characters, Downloads, Store, and Email).
Comix Heavy: The little bit in the top right corner of this. (The "LAST UPDATED ON" font.)
Potrzebie: Already on the font page.
Stencil BT: The font on the Heavy Lourde.
Anyone have any idea where these are used on that main page? --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif, 12:34, 29 May 2005 (BST)

Menu Font

On Tangerine Dreams, the menu font is not quite the same the one on my Mac OS 9, it's slightly different from this one. Should I add that? --—Darklinkskywalker|Talk_|i did this stuff_ 18:08, 16 Jul 2005 (UTC)

The picture included in the website you linked to appears to be broken. Do you have another example? -- Tom 18:30, 16 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Notice that the article page has been corrected to read "versions 7 and before." Apple switched from Chicago to a font called Charcoal for Mac OS versions 8 and 9. — It's dot com 23:52, 16 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Yes, Charcoal is one of my favortie fonts. --—Darklinkskywalker|Talk_|i did this stuff_ 16:03, 18 Jul 2005 (UTC)

You can also go to this page to see what it looks like. Or you can choose to download it from there aswell. --—Darklinkskywalker|Talk_|i did this stuff_ 16:16, 18 Jul 2005 (UTC)

My signature is now officially in CHARCOAL!!! I aslo have Chicago. You can link the links to download the two fonts and comapre them if you don't already have them. --—Darklinkskywalker|Talk_|i did this stuff_ 23:39, 19 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Pom Pilot Font (From the bird)

Which font is this? Is it already covered as one of the fonts, and if so, which one? Thunderbird 00:33, 20 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Wow, been a while since i been here, but yes, the font is called Trebuchet MS --TheDoggy
I think he's talking about the font on the screen, and that is definitely not Trebuchet. The font on the screen is pixelated. — It's dot com 00:42, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Stub

Why is this page a stub? It looks complete to me. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 15:50, 20 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Because there are a lot of fonts on the site that we haven't yet added to the table. Just off the top of my head, I can think of the "electricity"-style font used on Awexome Cross, fonts in old toons, and stuff on things like fliers. — It's dot com 18:10, 20 Aug 2005 (UTC)

And don't forget about the Door on Marshmallow's Last Stand, or the NavBar, and Strong Bad's Message Bored, or the ones on the buttons from Main Page 22, and the TV Time Toons Menu, and the "TeeBee" logo on the Homestar's TV, or the subtitles in The Isle of Pom, and maybe even the Stinkoman K 20X6 logo, and "Thnikkaman's offscreen chorus, ooh, and don't forget the Highlights FAQ... (man I could go on for days thinking about the numbers of fonts on the site) — —Darklinkskywalker|Talk_|i did this stuff_ 01:16, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)

I have made the preceding thread into a to-do list at the top of this page.

Guys I need somehelp.

What is the font size and color for the main, toons, games nav bar?

Colour = #666666. I'm not sure about the size though. --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif 23:39, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
P.S. (Out of curiousity, is this for the StrongBad Emails:Prev & Next extension?)
Yes it is. Someone emailed me the font size

Block lettering? (oh that was bad. :D)

OK, I've gone through other days looking for what font was used on SB's Block screen, and I've come up empty. I thought it might be Charybdis, which is very close, but not quite it. So I consulted WhatTheFont and got an even closer result, but the loop of the "P" is two "pixels" instead of three. So it's not that either. Any ideas?

Oh, btw, along the way I also added every other font used in that email so that's all taken care of. Octan 01:21, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Tangerine Dreams Font

What kind of font does The Cheat's computer, tangerine dreams use? I can't tell, 'cos it wasn't in any of the examples.--Gir007 02:16, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Fonts: Menu - Chicago; Email client - Courier New.

WHy A Stub?

ISn't there enough info and pics on here to stop calling it a stub? Or am i wrong... what are the specifications to be a stub? IntelligentCorpse hr.png 04:54, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

A stub is a page that's incomplete. As there are probably still fonts we've not yet identified on the site, and more to come, this is a stub. And will remain so for a while. Like Sound Effects. --DorianGray

Table Separation

We either need to put all the seperate tables back into one big table (which I think would be best) or get the same column width for each table. Right now it looks messy and just plain couth. - Super Sam 11:32, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

I think the separation is good, but a standard format and width for each table would make the page look better. — It's dot com 06:22, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Stop Sign Font?

What is the name of the font on the Stop Sign that says "STRONG BADIA"? Is is the font "Creepy" like in "The INSTRUC-TOR!"? Please let me know. --Homfrog 16:01, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Actually, it's called "Drips". Jimmy91 17:42, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Stub conflict resolution

Couldn't we have a template similar to Wikipedia:Template:Dynamic list? This would clear up any confusions about the meaning of the word "stub", at the very least. --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif 22:52, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Someone always has a good idea, and it usually comes from Wikipedia to boot. --DorianGray
That would definatly help, anyone want to make that template?--H*Bad 23:02, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
No, that template wouldn't work here at all. The list of fonts used on the H*R website is finite and countable, and it would be possible for us to have every font listed here. Yes, every time they add a new toon, we'd have to see whether they use any new fonts, but once those are added then the list would be complete again. This article is incomplete because there are still fonts currently on the H*R website that are not listed here. Until that changes, this article is still a stub. — It's dot com 23:15, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Blippo

I was looking at my flash archived fonts and my adobe reader fonts and i dont find anyting by the name of blippo? con someone please explain where i can get this. Instead of Blippo I found Bauhaus 93. Is that whay you guys are looking for or am I wrong? Please help. -Jmoney 15:56, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Yea..whats up? What happened to Bahaus 93? Strong Devon 03:52, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

It used to say Bauhaus 93 here. I don't know when or why they changed it because it looks just like Bauhaus 93. Maybe they're the same font, or they changed the name of the font or something. SaltyTalk! 14:20, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

ACupOfCoffee changed it back in November. Apparently, Blippo was the previous name of Bauhaus 93 and our policy is to use the earliest name of the font. I personally think that an exception should be made here. Bauhaus 93 is clearly the more well known name, even outside of the Homestarniverse and its fans. —Zelinda 15:05, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
I have several versions of both Bauhaus and Blippo on this machine, and they're very similar but slightly different from each other. — It's dot com 22:59, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Hm, okay then. Which one is the font used on the site? —Zelinda 23:05, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Whenever I decompile a Flash file with Bauhaus, I always see Bauhaus 93 and never Blippo. (As in, it actually states the font is Bauhaus 93.) - Super Sam 04:13, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Messy Widths

Can someone standardize the width of each three sections throughout the page? It looks messy with each letter having differently sized boxes. - Joshua 19:26, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Done. --Stux 17:23, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Missing Font?

With regards to this edit, the image in question was missing or never existed, and the reference is rather vague. Anybody know what happened to the image or if the entry was even valid in the first place? --Stux 16:25, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Gaslight

I would like to draw attention to the gaslight sample image which actually has two fonts and it is not clear which is which. My guess is that the top font is broadway and that the bottom sample is gaslight. If correct the description should reflect this information accordingly. --Stux 18:15, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
