Is the loading screen in this toon considered irregular? I'm ready to added it to Irregular Loading Screens but I'm not sure what the standard for that is.  After all the first sentence on that page says "In many toons and games, the loading screen has something on other than the standard "Loading..."" Well this toon does only say loading but many of the examples below do just saying loading or load, it's just that they are only used once. So should I added this toons loading screen to the list? --Happypasta 20:22, 26 December 2014 (UTC)

The fish on his camera is a cuttlefish. TBC are making a joke about its use and extremely common association with old timey photography, which uses its ink for sepia coloring. This is an extremely easy joke to get for anyone who knows anything about photography. It is long like a cuttlefish, and bears the same whiskers. It's place in the joke about old-time photography is unmistakable. It's a cuttlefish. -- Crazedc 20:50, March 31 2016 (UTC)

:Sure, because the Chaps have shown they know so much about photography. This is a reach at best, especially since no, the fish bears no resemblance to a cuttlefish whatsoever. --DorianGray 21:18, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

[edit] YouTube fake thumbnails

This screenshot from the YouTube version has a bunch of fake thumbnails with scenes from non-existent toons on it. --Kaze 11:22, 4 October 2014 (UTC)

[edit] Fisheye, fish eye

The title of the song is "Fish Eye Lens" (open), but the proper term is "fisheye lens" (closed). At first I thought it would be better to spell references to the actual lens open like the title, but when I put the link in to fisheye lens, it became apparent that it would probably be better just to spell it correctly in our articles and fun facts. — It's dot com 19:22, 4 October 2014 (UTC)

[edit] I ___ a fisheye lens

I ___ a fisheye lens / And make a rap video with a couple of friends

I originally transcribed it "I want a fisheye lens". An anonny just changed it to "bought". I can kind of hear it, but not really. Or maybe I can hear "brought" (with an "r"). Also, I'm not convinced it's "And" to start the second line. What say you? — It's dot com 01:23, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

I hear it as "bought". I also hear the "And" in there, too. --phlip TC 03:00, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
I definitely think "bought" is correct, but I don't think "And" is there. I think the line may be "A-make a rap video with a couple of friends", possibly as in "To make a rap video". Homestar-Winner (talk)
I considered "A-make a rap video" when I transcribed it, but it just seemed like a stretch. "To make a rap video" makes the most sense, but I think it's definitely not "to". — It's dot com 00:34, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
Definitely sounds like "BROUGHT a fish-eye lens TO make a rap video..." to me. - Steven
I heard "bought". Heimstern Läufer 05:46, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

[edit] What's a Dixieland?

Maybe it's somethign that's more commonplace in America but I've got no clue what that is? Can someone add it to the explanations? Guybrush20X6 18:12, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

Dixieland is a colloquial used to describe the american south, particularly before the Civil War. MechaKingBubsGonzola 3:33, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

 • It's also a style of jazz music, sometimes referred to as Traditional or "Trad" Jazz.— Bassbone (TALK Strong Mad Has a Posse CONT) 20:29, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

[edit] Videro

As noted in the inside references, Coach Z pronounces "video" as "videro" at least once. I definitely hear it in the second chorus. Probably the first chorus too. Try as I might, I do not hear it in the third chorus. The question is, assuming we can come to a consensus on when he says it, does it need to be noted in the transcript as well (and if so, what's the best format for that)? — It's dot com 04:29, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

I first noticed it when I watched the YouTube video with my headphones in the first verse, and I clearly hear it in all three (from Coach Z, not Strong Bad, of course.) I'm kinda-sorta certain that the third verse is videos/videros for whatever reason, which I notice is in the subtitles (don't ask me, I didn't do it), but the "R" I'm confident on. --Jay (Talk) 05:53, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
Hmm, I can kind of hear "videos" on the third one, too. — It's dot com 16:17, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

[edit] Dixieland Costumes

I think it's time we added the Dixieland costumes from the end of the video to a costumes page. I'd do it myself but i'm not sure which exact page to added it to, how to input pictures and whether or not we also include some rap song images/costumes. --Happypasta 01:17, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

You're looking for the pages listed on Other Costumes. For the images, take a screenshot of the toon and load it into your favorite image editor. Use the other images on the costumes pages as a guideline for how to crop the images. Save your images as PNG files. Use Special:Upload to upload them to the wiki. — It's dot com 02:36, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

[edit] These people draaerrrpped the baermb

Okay, I don't see the controversy I expected over this so... I guess I'll start it. When it gets to "but then the price draeerrrrrrped," this seems like a Real World Reference, perhaps to a particular song. I'm pretty positive that I've heard some early hip-hop song with the line "don't let the beat DROP" at which the beat is interrupted, etc. I leave it to someone with more time and knowledge than me to figure out whether that's Curtis Blow, Sugarhill Gang--or maybe even Beastie Boys? Of course we could also be getting into the territory of "it's just a hip-hop device common to lots of songs, and therefore not a specific reference." Just thought I'd start a conversation on it. Geez, I gotta figure out how to sign posts again—hang on...AbdiViklas 00:16, 9 October 2014 (UTC)

I found what I was thinking of—it was in fact in the Beastie Boys' "Intergalactic." Adult language content warning, I guess...AbdiViklas 15:01, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

[edit] Syncopation

Is it just me, or does the "Several Syncopations toniiiight" that Homestar sings sound similar to "One" from A Chorus Line. Is this maybe a real world sufferance, or is it a common enough tune to not be attributed to anything. ... Then again, he does start doing a kick routine, which is common of that show. - Just a thought. DTS Oct 08, 2014 11:53pm CST
