URL Pretty Text finishes before Homestar?

This may be nothing, but when watching this for my comment on the "Cut" vs. "Uhh" question, I noticed that when Homestar says "Homestarrunner.net", the text finishes appearing on the screen before he finishes says "dot net". This also happens later when Homestar says "USS Homestarrunner.com" - the text appears almost before he says it. Is this a glitch or am I just high? --TheEggman 23:02, 8 Feb 2005 (MST)

How is it a glitch? --Jay 23:09, 8 Feb 2005 (MST)
Maybe it's not, but I found it odd that with Homestar screwing up his lines, the graphics are wrong with him BEFORE he even says them. Like I said, I could be totally off my rocker thinking this is something when it's nothing. --TheEggman 00:04, 9 Feb 2005 (MST)
If it IS before, it's not by enough to really matter. They're supposed to appear at roughly the same time that Homestar says them - which they do. After all, it's just like real commercials where words get added to the screen at the same time a person says them - they're added later on so the timing may not be PERFECT (now, don't ask me why Cherry Greg would add the words on-screen to all of Homestar's outtakes.) --Jay 01:31, 9 Feb 2005 (MST)

Not a "Cut"?

The transcript for the section where Homestar is wearing a different outfit has the director saying, "Cut! No." I have always heard it is "Uhh...no." I think there's a 'g' or a 'k' sound before the 'uh', but there's no 't' at the end, hence my hearing it as "Uhh" rather than "Cut". Does anyone else hear it this way? -- TheEggman

I agree. — InterruptorJones[[]] 21:52, 8 Feb 2005 (MST)
I don't. I think it might be two people speaking. One saying "cut" and the other saying "no." Similarly, the guy who announces "Homestarrunner.com welcome speech take {whatever}" isn't the director. --Jay 23:11, 8 Feb 2005 (MST)
I'm not talking about the clapboard guy - I'm talking about the guy who says "Cut" (elsewhere in the toon) - I know that the "Take {whatever}" guy and the director are two different voices, but "Uhh... no." (or "Cut! No.") is distinctly said by the same person (easy to tell, since apart from Homestar, there are only two other voices, and neither "Uhh/Cut" or "No" is said by the clapboard guy).
Which I do not agree with at all. I'm hearing the "cut" and I don't think they ARE "distinctly" the same voice on "Cut! No." I've never thought that and can't hear it even when I try now. The director says "Cut!" and the clapboard guy says "No." in disgust. --Jay 01:20, 9 Feb 2005 (MST)
The clapboard guy's voice is more nasal-sounding, while the director has a little more bass to it. Both "Uhh" and "No" have the bass to it and lack the nasal sound. Also, why would the clapboard guy say "No"? The clapboard guy's job is to say the take number and hit the clapboard. All the clapboard guy ever says is "Homestar Runner Dot Com Welcome Speech Take {whatever}" - in fact he says "Take {whatever} *clap*" right before the director says "Uhh...No." It's most definitely not the clapboard guy who says "No". --TheEggman 09:17, 9 Feb 2005 (MST)
Also, I just listened to it, and the 'g/k' sound I heard is just a random mouth noise (like smacking your lips, or the sound made when your mouth and your tongue clicks, something like that). --TheEggman 23:57, 8 Feb 2005 (MST)

Screenshot

I uploaded the image from the old 'Tavi page and used it to replace this one. I did this because with this type of image .png is better than .jpg, and the image size is correct, without all that extra white space below the actual image. -- Tom 13:08, 15 Sep 2004 (MST)

Spanish

I did a babelfish translation of "Bienvenidos a Homestarrunner.com. ¿Conoces a Miguel? ¡Sí! Somos buenos amigos—" and it came up with "Welcome to Homestarrunner.com. You know Miguel? Yes! We are good friends—". Can someone put that on the page somewhere?

It's the first fact under Trivia. Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 21:03, 21 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Glitch?

I use the flash seekbar and if i skip past a studio marker and then back to it, the second time it always reads "Scene 1 Act 1 Take 1" no matter what it read before. Glitch? or not? Smileyface11945 18:59, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)

No. Flash glitches don't count, especially if you use a seek bar to get them. - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)

More Than Just Something

There is actually more than just the word "Something" on something.com, there is a secret photo album from the 2003 Dragon Con, I'm just afraid to write it because it probably sound like vandelism.--~~Ampi~~meowarchives

As an Easter Egg? I couldn't find it. --אוקאלייליי (Ookelaylay) PS- You spelled "vandalism" wrong.
Me either. How do you get to it? --B 21:06, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
Check the Fun Facts on this page. And why would it be vandalism? - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)
But how do you get to it? The Fun Fact makes no mention of it. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 03:28, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
It could be because I'm blind in one eye, (this is true folks), but I don't see any photo album. — talk Bubsty edits 03:31, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

http://www.something.com/images/dc2003/ Jimminy Cricket. It's exactly as the toon described it. My first thought was "Those are some scary orcs!" But then the overall effect got to me, and I came to the conclusion that it was just... scary. —AbdiViklas 21:33, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Video vs Film

The thing about reels of film and being shot on video... it could be that we are watching the video assist for a real film camera. Just a thought.

I'mabigmoronwhocan'tremeberhislines

Should we ad that Imabigmoronwhocantrememberhislines.com has some porn links right there? Hardly any of it is homestar related anyway. — talk Bubsty edits 03:35, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
I'd prefer that you didn't. - Has Matt>
We have a lot of little kids here. I've left a warning. I will try to make the link unclickable as well. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 00:12, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Strong Bad

Probably a stupid idea, but could we include something about how "You don't know it yet," Has to do with the fact the sbmail has the most updated and certainly the most numerous toons on the site. --Adun12 00:03, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Not sure if that quite fits with "You don't know it yet", probably the "I'm the reason you're here" bit is more in line with Strong Bad and his emails being far more popular... Thunderbird

Flash Kit reference?

The FAQ mentions FlashKit.com. The site also has a link at the top that says "First time here?". It's unlikely that this toon was named after the link, but what does everyone else think? Before anyone can say it, I Wayback'd it and the link on FlashKit was there before the toon. —Zelinda 20:13, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Objectionable material

It is no longer necessary to warn people about the objectional material. It also was not necessary to have it listed twice. Retromaniac 02:58, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Um, why is it no longer necessary to warn people? --DorianGray
You wanna click on the "Bareback Gay" link and tell me it's not possibly inappropriate for the typical 13-year-old? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:08, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Si?

Hello.... Regarding this edit [[1]]: Isn't Homestar saying "Yes?!" as in "Do you?!", as in "Do you know him?! That's great!" ? I always thought he had a sort of interrogative tone to his voice. (Sorry — Just splittin' hairs I guess!) kai lyn 01:22, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Never mind! I just listened again... Dot Com was right! kai lyn 01:25, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
