Which user are you supposed to be?

I made it! I was the Where's an Egg man! And Movie Magic Man was one of the "terrible Homestar"s. Strong Vader 05:58, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

And Monkeytender was The Umpire! Monkeytender 06:23, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Hey guys, congrats. Per precedent from last year, and also just per our careful standards of documentation, we need you to demonstrate some evidence that you are indeed the people in this toon before it can be in the article. For that reason, I've removed the following for the time being:

If you could provide some documentation that these are true, we can put 'em back real quick-like. You may notice I have not removed Monkeytender's. This is because he made this post at the forum in advance of this toon's release, which seems to corroborate his claim. Heimstern Läufer 11:01, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Well, as for Movie magic man's, I'm pretty sure that picture of him in the same costume as the one from the toon has been up on his wiki page for nearly a week now. The Wheelchair 14:53, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Go to the Telltale Games Forums. On there I am called The Highway, there's even a link to my User page on the wiki from my user name on the ttg forum. I started a thread called the official Halloween costumes thread, for people to post their costumes. I hope this I evident enough that I am on the costumes toon. EDIT: how about I post a message on the ttg drums stating that the picture is of I, open source Greg, and I will include a link to the thread. http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13129 that is the thread. Check the last post, then please restore my name to the artcle. OpenSourceGreg 15:28, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

So, what do I have to do? Show you a screenshot of my email client with part of the image? What about a screenshot of the full screen of my email client with the image? What about the original image? And the fact that I had my picture of myself on my userpage, to which those could be compared. Is that enough? And the fact that the II in my Where's an Egg II background was cut off in order to fit on Strong Bad's projector screen? Strong Vader 16:55, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Yes, that's enough. For the record (i.e. for others who want to make a claim), screenshots of emails aren't that convincing, especially if you upload them after the fact, because they could easily be faked. More convincing is the file where you show the whole image that you sent. Alternate takes or angles or images where you show yourself putting the costume together would also be good. Ultimately the most convincing image for me is the picture you uploaded of yourself months ago. Can't really fake that. — It's dot com 18:09, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

The only way I can convince you that my costume is the garden boy costume is:

  1. I changed the link that says Strong Sad to Garden Boy, which leads to AWMPSCE
  2. I can upload the picture and put it on here, but I've never uploaded a picture before

Nihaho13 20:44, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

See Help:Image and Special:Upload. We need something more than just your word for it. — It's dot com 20:57, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
How's this? File:Garden Boy Costume.JPG. IS THAT ENOUGH?!?! Also, sorry for putting the first paragraph on your talk page. Nihaho13 00:36, 11 November 2009 (UTC) oh, and NO LINK FOR YOU!!

May I say that I made it into the fan costume thing too? I'm the second last guy. I don't really know how to prove it, but here's a link to a post I made a while back with a pic of my costume(The same one I sent 'em).

Stave

Can we stop calling the "stave it off" guy Davey now? I'd do it, but I actually have a job that pays cash-type money. There's got to be some industrious 13-year-old that can do it during 4th period study hall.--Periodic Table Greg 14:06, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

This is being discussed at Talk:Davey. Heimstern Läufer 14:09, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Text smoothing

As of Flash 8, you can set text smoothing to use a more detailed method intended for non-moving text (I believe it's called "antialias for readability", but I don't have Flash installed at the moment so I can't check). The captions at the end use the second type; this is the first time I've seen it or any other Flash 8 effect other than blurring. Does, or should, anybody give a crap? Seeing how we've mentioned in the past when a cartoon has a higher sound quality than usual... Octan 17:21, 9 November 2009 (UTC) ]

If you're sure it was used, I say add the info. It certainly can't hurt. SnappySoda 00:39, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Can I just add it?

Ben Again can corrorborrate my story that I am the secod last terrible homestar, and I provided the facts above. Can I just add it? OpenSourceGreg 13:39, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Possibly a Fan Costume of a Fan Character?

You may notice that the 13th terrible Homestar costume has a different color scheme than the real Homestar Runner. The girl is wearing black pants, a black star, and the brim of her hat is black. This is actually the color scheme of a, not unpopular, fan made character called AntiHomestar. Reference picture [1]. I have no way to prove this, but the resemblance is too close not to notice. One of the creators of the fan character is looking for[2] the costumed person. Even if this person is not dressed as said fan character, perhaps the difference in the color scheme should be noted? SnappySoda

This was confirmed (see above link), so I'm adding it. SnappySoda 20:14, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Alright, so, I realize you took my edit down, but could we possibly discuss this a little more? I do think it's useful to note. If you don't like the link, that can be left out. No problem with that. Saying that this variation shouldn't be mentioned is a different story. The other variations, like Dangeresque Too, are mentioned at the top of the page in the "Costumes depicted" list. This fan character is not. It's also the first I've ever seen of a fan character costume being featured on the site. I don't see why this shouldn't be mentioned at all. SnappySoda 20:31, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

I would not be against some note being made. -132.183.151.213 20:34, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
I want to see a direct link to this antihomestar thing. Also, someone saying that it's him elsewhere does not constitute proof. — Defender1031*Talk 20:50, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
That same someone also posted a link http://themuffinator3.deviantart.com/art/smiles-awkwardly-143201159 to another picture of her with that costume, and that is enough proof. I think it should be noted - Not in the cast, but in the Fun Facts. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 21:02, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Oh, i didn't see the comments, just the first "which one of you dressed up as" post. — Defender1031*Talk 21:10, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Prof. Experimento

I thought this was interesting: The shot used of Professor Experimento is the exact one used on the Professor Experimento page on the Wiki. Since he was never made in Flash, they'd likely have to go to the game to get a shot of him... or just use the one someone else already made. :) Here is the Wiki's image. --TimMierz 22:31, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Nice catch. They are the same. Looks like the Bros Chos got a little lazy. Or else they recognize us as a great source. The latter being more likely. 'Cause they did it before. You know what, go with the second one. --Jellote wuz here 22:42, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Coupons

I believe if your costume was showcased you were emailed a 10% discount voucher code by tbc. What did the winners recieve? OpenSourceGreg 08:45, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Speaking from experience grumble, you got that even if your costume/pumpkin was not showcased. The message advertising the contest stated that the reward would be a $20 discount from the store; maybe they two stack? Or something? --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 08:50, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Aw, Jay, are you upset? And thanks for clearing that up. I'm really happy about my discount! Should this go on the page, though? OpenSourceGreg 09:34, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm... If so, if you buy more then 200$ worth of stuff, you save more money then the winners. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 21:04, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
