Eh Steve might be a reference to the former host of Blues Clues, Steve, who left to show for some reasons. Eh Greg! Might be a reference to the new host that replaced him, even though his name isn't greg.--{{User:Finest1/sig}} 00:47, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Revision as of 00:47, 8 May 2008

This has been moved back and forth from Eh! Steve to Eh! Steve! now. I'm inclined to move it back to Eh! Steve! because that's how it's written in HomestarRunner.com PAY PLUS!: "Meet Eh! Steve!'s lawyer!" Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 21:12, 20 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Ah, but in the icons downloadable from crazy cartoon, it's Eh! Steve, no second exclamation point. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 21:19, 20 Jul 2005 (UTC)
And let's not forget the Easter egg in kids' book. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 21:20, 20 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I was just waiting for someone to come up with counterexamples ;) I guess two against one is convincing enough for me... Although Pay Plus! is more recent, so if we see something else with the ending exclamation point, we might want to consider moving it back. Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 21:21, 20 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I don't know whether this means anything, but the caption under Eh, Steven in different town has a period after the name and inside the quotation marks. — It's dot com 22:01, 20 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Also, in what I want, his ornament's an "Eh! Steve!" soiled gold ornament. I'm all for 2 exclammy points. - Th' Duck

Seeing as the ! after "Eh" is undisputed, let's see about Steve...

Eh! Steve -

 1. Buddy Icons
 2. kid's book easter egg

Eh! Steve! -

 1. Decemberween Sweet Cuppin' Cakes - when his mouth exploded the universe, the text is shown, although this may just be how he speaks it.
 2. different town - Eh, Steven. (there's a period after Steven, implying punctuation after Steve.
 3. Pay Plus - It's Eh! Steve!'s lawyer
 4. Weclome Back - It's "Eh, Steve!" but it's still "Steve!"
 5. what I want - Eh! Steve! ornament

It's one versus 5. I'ma move to Eh! Steve! - Dr. Clash 01:28, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Haircut Appearance?

Before I throw it in his filmography, I throw it here. In haircut, when Strong Bad makes his "Prime Time" version of Strong Mad's hair, he draws a tiny Eh! Steve. Now, realizing it's not actually Eh!Steve, and that even Strong Bad says "Eh!Greg", is there any way this qualifies? The Smoking Monkey 11:09, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)

I think it counts. Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 13:19, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Works for me! The Smoking Monkey 13:49, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I think it counts. I would count different town as an appearance, too, if you asked me. Evan

Eh!Steve/Eh Steve!/Eh!Steve!

How many different I dentites for Eh!Steve are there? I remember these ones-

Eh!Steve

Eh Steve!

Eh!Steve!

Eh!Steven

Eh! Steve reference to happy days?

Does anyone think Eh steve saying "Eh steve!" is a reference to Fonzi's catchphrase "Ehhhh!"

Quite certain it's SOLID

In the listing of the solid gold ornament, somehwone keeps changing solid back to soiled after I edit it. It is SOLID, Right?

No, it's actually soiled. Check what it says in the sidebar on the toon. Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 16:39, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Seinfeld?

Eh! Steve! might be a joke in reference to the Seinfeld episode where Kramer staples people's pictures to the wall in the lobby. Jerry says hi to someone while looking for his picture and that person's name was Steve. Jerry ended up saying, "Hey...Steve!" --Super!SantanaDuper! 14:21, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Eh! Steve! could reference lots of things. So TTATOT. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 14:23, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Eh! Steve will get what he deserves

Should kids' book be counted in Eh! Steve's filmography or would that be breaking that rule about not counting pictures of people as actual appearances? Bad Bad Guy 15:57, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Italian accent?

Eh! Steve! only says one thing, if at all. And I'm pretty sure it's said in an Italian accent. I guess it could be Greek, due to the patterns on his quadrangle... those seem like Greek motifs to me. Didn't Strong Bad talk about his shape once? Or was it just "Eh! Steve! isn't really a person?" ---Ransom (--69.105.84.54 04:59, 17 September 2007 (UTC))

Definitely Italian, like Arthur Fonzarelli ("Ayyy, Richie!"), but that is a Greek pattern. However, remember the ancient Romans annexed Greece and occasionally borrowed their culture (i.e. Greek deities). ¡ɯooz + 05:57, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Wedding Planner

I'm almost 100% positive that Eh! Steve is a quote from the movie the Wedding Planner, with J-Lo and Matthew McCaughnehey (sp?). There is a character that comes from Italy wanting to be J-Lo's fiance, and he greets McCaughnehey's character (named Steve) like this. The tonation, accent, and voice quality is pretty exact. The scene is later in the movie when they are in Sonoma. --augusthead (15:09 18-OCT-2007)

Interesting — do you (and does anybody else) have the DVD to check? Also, welcome to the wiki! Also also, you can sign and timestamp your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~), like this: Trey56 19:12, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the help. I re-watched the movie to see if I could find the quote, and it wasn't in the Sonoma part, but instead toward the end at City Hall. My DVD player had it at 1hr 35min into the movie. Steve gets out of a taxi and Massimo (the guy who wanted to be J-Lo's fiance) says his name a few times to call him over. It's not as exact as I thought, but there is a verrry strong resemblance in the way Massimo says "Steve" to the "Eh Steve" in HR. He actually says "Hey Steve" but it's really really close. If anyone on here gets the movie, watch and see what you think. -- Augusthead 17:04, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Cool, thanks for checking. Not having the DVD, it sounds like it's a coincidence, but maybe somebody else can check and see what they think... Trey56 17:39, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
