Adding in this possible goof

• During old timey short, the rat pile moves and gets lighter after homestar says "the most sanitary time of year"

Coach Z's Butt

Coach Z's butt is abnormally big, but does that mean it should be listed on Big Butt? That article is strictly talking about mentions of the phrase "big butt". I feel it should be listed somewhere, since it involves both Coach Z and a butt (an apparent fixation of his). I pretty sure the Decemberween Short Shorts is suppose to be parodying you can't do that on television. The style and everything is really similar...

I'll add: 1) I'm a little older than TBC, and I clearly remember the show. 2) TBC have definitely seen the program, I'll bet... this pen! 3) I agree that this isn't likely to be an intentional reference. On YCDTOT there was this one bit that they had, that they basically stole from Laugh-in (which I am convinced was referenced in Resolutions), where the cast's faces would pop out of lockers one at a time, speaking to another cast member in another locker for short two-person jokes. This seems to be the basis of the ornaments short.

Venusy is probly right, the ornament short was suppose to be a parody of the joke wall from laugh in.

Homestar's Helmet

Is it just me, or is that a cricket helmet Homestar was was wearing when he came into the locker room? Having seen them a few times, that's what it looks like to me. If it is, then it should be a Real World Reference. Plus, Coach Z's sports are huge mash-ups anyway, why not add an international sport (as long as its not soccer).

Homestar's Wiggly Dancing

I don't recall seeing Homestar do this wiggly dancing before outside of the nobot easter egg in the sbemail "What I Want." Is this an inside reference?

Doesn't look like it. In all the other instances of Homestar dancing I remember, including in "bottom 10," he picks his feet up and steps rhythmically like he's playing Dance Dance Revolution.

In Hoosiers, as I recall the Picket Fence wasn't used to win the championship game. It was used to win an earlier, regular season game.

Tube socks and Cosby Show

The first time I saw the tube socks as a gift, I thought of the final episode of the Cosby Show in which Theo gets tube socks as a gift from Kenny for his graduation. Not sure if this could be considered a reference, but I can't think of any other pop-culture references to someone getting tube socks as a gift. I just thought I'd mention it.

Local gentry

"The local gentry" has to be a reference to the song "Love and Marriage." I don't know who wrote the song, but it is most associated with Frank Sinatra. It was also used as the theme to "Married With Children." "Ask the local gentry, and they will say it's elementry."

Handwriting

Why'd she do it?

Why did Old-Timey Marzipan have Rumble Red meet his untimely demise? I'm sure that's not a Decemberween tradition. I'm sure the other Rumble Colors will probbably try and harm Old-Timey Marzipan. But still, WHY'D SHE DO IT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Doesn't he represent some unliked alien from the Flinstones (as well as the later years of the Soviet Union, when it was getting weak)? If so, the old-timeys are right to hate him. If the Flinstones guy is who I think he is, then he was the jump the shark moment for the serries, and I think it ended shortly after him. It could be that, or just a representation of wesern hatred of communism during those times (although I think we liked them during the depression). In conclusion, I'm probobly overthinking this. The Flintstones guy was The Great Gazoo, and from what I read, yes, he was a shark-jumper and the series ended shortly after his arrival. (I can see why...Remember when they had Marshmallow Pebbles? Gazoo did the commercial, and he was annoying.) Traditionally in old cartoons, aliens represented communists or whatever, I think you're right about that. There's no such thing as overthinking!! The specials I was referring to were "Charlie Brown Christmas Tales," which ABC shows after "A Charlie Brown Christmas" to fill the rest of the hour, and "Simpsons Christmas Stories," which I saw in 2005. I was trying to say that Homestar was trying to copy what appeared to be a fad of Christmas specials composed of shorts, like best thing copying the fad of cartoons in space. First off, this is a spin-off of the original Summer Short Shorts, not a reference to a TV show. And I doubt it's a reference to The Simpsons (considering that episode had 7 minute shorts, and this TOON is less than 7 minutes long).
