[edit] Discussion

This page needs to make explicit why cold cuts are important to HR... or else be tbd'ed. -132.183.151.81 01:07, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm not really seeing how this article is needed, since "cold cuts" is not exactly an unusual term nor is it is used unusually. Probably could be just added Minor Foods and do a redirect. wbwolf (t | ed) 04:25, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
They played a reasonably significant role in episnowed, and at least one other instance is fairly unusual (being mistaken for by towelettes). I haven't seen the sbcg4ap instances firsthand, but I think with the appearance descriptions, this is a valid article. The intro might should be expanded a little bit, though. -132.183.138.68 16:54, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
(Edit conflicted) Wow, and i was just about to post the exact opposite, that there's nothing particularly unusual and nothing connecting the instances... go figure... — Defender1031*Talk 16:57, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Well, it's not the first time you and I have had the opposite opinion. -132.183.138.68 17:00, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
After doing a lot of editing on this page, I think it is ready to stand on its own. In all of the references listed, only once was cold cuts used as a throwaway joke, in impression. In all the other references, the characters talk about it like an actual item in the HR universe. Thus, I say Keep. Sbmaniac 17:06, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
There is at least one peculiar thing about cold cuts - We never seen them. We don't know how their cold cuts look (And why would anyone confuse them with moist towelettes). With four appearances, I think it should be kept. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 20:36, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
According to the Inclusion guidelines, a very generic item "needs at least five to ten appearances and must be of at least moderate importance to the toon (i.e. not just in the background and never mentioned) in half of its appearances." On one hand, we only have four appearances (which isn't too much of a problem as we are allowed to bend the guidelines a little) and, as E.L. Cool says, cold cuts aren't actually shown in any of the cartoons. On the other, the fact that Crack Stuntman's Girlfriend is obsessed with them, Coach Z mistook napkins for them, and that they apparently might crush the Cheat Commandos means that they do have some significance to the Homestar Runner universe. I'm leaning towards a keep here, but only just, mind you. – The Chort 19:23, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Just for the record - When I mentioned that we never once saw them, I meant it as a positive thing for why this article should be kept. For example, when Blue Laser Commander thought that pizza is the ultimate weapon against the CC, they dressed as giant pizza. When mildew was it, we see a minion scrubbing mildew. Cold cuts are never seen and that's what makes them spacial. How can Coach Z confuse them with moist towelettes? That what's fascinating. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 05:51, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
I agree with Elcool. It is their lack of appearance despite mention that makes them special and unique. I have modified the introduction accordingly to reflect this. --Stux 15:47, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Keep. I think Cold Cuts are used in many odd places. Also, a sandwich made form moist towelettes? Ewww... --Jellote 21:14, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Delete. It's a spoon thing, I think. Thy Not Dennis (t/c) 21:42, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
I disagree. A "spoon" is a "terribly common and mundane" item. With only four mentions, I wouldn't call cold cuts common. It's not like they've turned up every few weeks since the website began. Furthermore, according to that very article you mention, "Articles should be written about particularly interesting or unique items, or items which are utilized often in a novel way." As E.L. Cool pointed out, what's unusual about cold cuts is that we never see them. That's probably why I'm not against keeping this article. – The Chort 20:07, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Besides, it's not like you hear "cold cuts" every day. At least I don't, here in WV. I hear spoons every day, though. free 20:14, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Keep and move to title case (Cold Cuts rather than Cold cuts). And I don't argue that it's worthy of a page "especially because we never see them" or whatever... because if TBC decide to show some cold cuts in an upcoming toon, I don't wan't people saying, "Oh, wait.. now we have seen them.. gotta delete now!" All other reasons for "keep" are enough for a keep, IMHO. OptimisticFool 00:52, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
