[edit] Merge discussion

I have five words for this page: Minor Teen Girl Squad Characters. --Jay (Talk) 03:14, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

I have two words for Jay: I concur. Heimstern Läufer 03:17, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
I have one word for all y'alls: Agree'd. --DorianGray

Hi! I see what you mean and agree with you for the most part. I wasn't aware that there was a Minor Teen Girl Squad Characters page, but it certainly makes sense. Here's the thing though: I came to HRwiki and typed "Brainkrieg," expecting to find a page, but the Minor Teen Girl Squad Characters page wasn't the most apparent place to look... so how about this? I propose a redirect to Brainkrieg. Sorry for causing someone trouble. Do whatever you think is best. :) maadio 03:24, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

To me, that seems very reZONable. In fact, I'm a bit surprised there wasn't already a redirect. Heimstern Läufer 03:28, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Yeah; I actually just came back from dinner; the redirect option didn't hit me until I was on my way out. Blasted blindingly obvious stuff... --Jay (Talk) 04:57, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Yep, a redirect is defininatly the way to go. Thanks for being so cool about it, Maadio. That's something we don't see all the time when pages are pending deletion/redirection. I'm sure you'll be able to create an awesome page in the future. Keep on tranglin'! Has Matt? (talk) 12:15, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
I do agree with the fact that it belongs on Minor Teen Girl Squad Characters, but there's just something about this article that gives it keepage-status. I don't know, just my feelings about it. teeeffoh! 18:27, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
*sigh* I've redirected the page to the minor characters section (left the anchor for the day when hopefully they start working in redirects)... the only sad issue is that, as Maadio mentioned below, this band will not be listed in the Bands category. It is too bad redirect pages can't have their categories separate from the articles it redirects to. --Stux 01:07, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Oh one more thing...

I was also looking for all the fictional bands in the HR website, and though Cool Tapes was in there, Brainkrieg wasn't. I just thought that was an oversight that could be easily corrected. That's all... maadio 03:30, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

Cool Tapes consists of major characters, though. Qermaq (Talk | contribs) 27:50, 13 February 2006 (UTC) (left unsigned)

[edit] Revisiting

Now here's a reversal... YK actually lobbying *for* a page... heh. Anydangway, Omnisweater recreated this page recently, and DeFender quickly reverted it back to a redirect, citing consensus. However, that was one which was reached two years ago, and while it was the right move at the time, given Brainkrieg was seemingly a one-shot joke, it was also long before Hooked on Decemberween came out and gave them a much larger role. Moreover, its entry on the Minor Teen Girl Squad Characters page is considerably larger than any other characters listed there (many of which only have one line descriptions), *and* contains a very clunky-looking band info box. What we have here is a legitimate band, we have too much info on them for a simple table, and if Lazor, which has only ever been *mentioned* (and then only in passing, all things considered) gets a page, I feel Brainkrieg deserves the same treatment. Anyone? -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 05:01, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Agree -128.103.10.17 06:17, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing earlier. That starring role in Hooked really makes a separate page worth it. --Jay (Talk) 11:37, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes, and the way the page is now, it's looking SOOOOOOO GOOD! Heimstern Läufer 11:34, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
I'll support keeping this. Jigga-jigga-wugga. wbwolf (t | ed) 17:37, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Minor no more. Keep it. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 19:48, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
So...it looks like we've reached a consensus. Can we get rid of the deleted tag? Omnisweater 23:53, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Sure. Heimstern Läufer 02:18, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The Logo

Is it worth noting that Brainkrieg's logo somewhat resembles that of the Dead Kennedys? --Homestarmy Commando1 22:03, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The actual genre of Brainkrieg

I don't understand the classification of Brainkrieg as a death metal band. They strike me more as Crossover Thrash Metal than Death Metal. — 65.28.99.199 (Talk | contribs) 19:09, 9 October 2022 (UTC) (left unsigned)

First off, they're identified as death metal because they were introduced in the email death metal as an example of that genre. But these things do change over time (Limozeen sounds nothing like how they did in band names, for instance), and indeed the article acknowledges that "If I Don't Get Video Games..." sounds notably less like death metal. In general I think it's tricky to really classify many of the fictional bands from H*R, considering that they're mostly very loosely-defined pastiches that can go across multiple subgenres; Brainkrieg only has three songs, less than four minutes in total, which makes it hard to specifically judge. In addition, musical sub-sub-genres can lead to overly specific classifications where a band is described with a genre that a layman might not be familiar with, which sort of goes against the idea of explaining. Anyways - in this case I would say keep Death Metal but add a secondary genre (see the Taranchula infobox) that better fits their later output. -- Bleu Ninja 18:12, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
