Title

If this is indeed notable, then I'm not sure this is the best title. The title and the description don't match in my mind. Denial is not what this is really about in my opinion. It's more of just a type of lies. I dunno. Maybe there's really a larger category about lying that we can add this to, if not can we rename it Blatant Lies? - ISTC 03:24, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't feel this is notable at all. We could just as well put up an article referring to every time a character says another character's name, or turns to their left, etc.
Yeah, Blatant Lies works for it. Then we could add in alot of stuff. Gonna see what others' opinions are, though. Dr. Clash 02:58, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about "Blatant Lies" that I don't particularly like. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 04:34, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

I don't know about the name, but I like the article's concept. Most of it is Strong Bad claiming he's awesome/popular with the ladies. Maybe a new subheader just for that? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 08:03, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

That sounds like a good idea to me. There's a couple of pages for Strong Bad making stuff up already, though. Shwoo 08:15, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

I did get most of these from Strong Bad's Ladies. There are a few not on the ladies, though most of these are by Strong Bad. I'll try going through the Answering Machine and writing what's there, and divide the page into Answering Machines, SBemails, and toons. That might help. Dr. Clash 11:09, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Holy crapola! This has a lot of appearances. Even though it could go into other articles, I think this page is fine by itself. But there's something about this title that drives me nuts. It sounds stupid when I say it, but that could just be my accent...Anyway, we could call it Obvious Pranks or something like that if that sounds better. -Brightstar Shiner 21:03, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

I know what ya mean, Shiner, but I think the title covers it. Blatant, which essentially means obvious, is good, seeing as the lies are fairly obvious to the viewers, and Lies covers the fact that the characters are lying. I don't think "Pranks" would cover SB pretending not to cry over a one legged dog. Any other ideas? Dr. Clash 21:18, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

How 'bout Strong Bad Being An Idiot? No, just kidding. Maybe we can keep the title as is. It sounds wierd, but that's okay as long as it describes the subject matter well. -Brightstar Shiner 21:24, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Pranks

Following up on Brightstar's comment about pranks: I don't think that pranks should be included in this article. Pranks are lies of a different kind than the other ones listed. It's also not very informative to basically have all MAM pranks listed as blatant lies. In my opinion this would be a really cool page without all MAMs listed. Loafing 23:36, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, aren't the Answering Machine type lies already mostly covered on Obviously Phony Aliases anyway? --DorianGray
<goes and looks> Uh..yeah. They are all covered there. We should remove the pranks and see how many are still just Strong Bad being wierd, then we'll talk about what to do with this page. -Brightstar Shiner 00:01, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I removed the pranks. Looks good to me, so now what? Dr. Clash 01:06, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Mmm, looks fine to me. Good job with this page, Clash. I think it really turned out well. -Brightstar Shiner 01:52, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Strong Bad Skydiving

I added that in Weclome Back Strong Bad was blatantly trying to fool everyone into thinking that he had really done a midair e-mail check, and it was removed. I think it's at least debatable. Can you STUFF things in articles such as this? Hrjogger 19:06, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Really? Coz it sure looked to me like he actually did it. He was genuinely annoyed that he mixed the stop and record buttons. He WAS in an airplane. And the camera sort of sunk to the ground as if it'd been falling. I think he really did do it. It's all a matter of perspective. --DorianGray 19:09, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
I have never been able to decide on this one. I can see it both ways. Note, though, that the title of the page is "Blatant Lies", and if it's debated whether or not it's a lie, that's a clue it's likely not blatant. Heimstern Läufer 19:24, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Delete

This doesn't seem to be a running gag even if the page WERE consistant and everything listed was a blatent lie. People lie to each other. Unfortunately that's how our world works today. It has no special meaning in the H*R universe. DeFender1031 12:07, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Maybe not, but I'm pretty sure that the page is constant, and all the lies are more or less blatant. (The page title's right there.) I believe that the page serves a purpose, and, while it my be reaching for a topic, is still very valid. That's why I vote No Delete. --TotalSpaceshipGirl3 13:53, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
This is definitely a running gag. I don't need to tell you how many times the Homestar characters do this. <sarcasm>You might as well delete Strong Bad, because that's how our world works: people make up characters for cartoons.</sarcasm> NO DELETE Dr. Clash 14:32, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Strong bad

Strong bad is the biggest lier in the show. There should be a wiki for strong bads lies. He also lies about his age.

A Folky Tale

Does anyone else think that when Bubs says "Ah, that was just Homestar" in the easter egg, that it's a total lie?

No, that's the joke, you're expecting that it's coach z and it's not. — Defender1031*Talk 19:24, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Lappynapped!

But what about the KoT saying he is "Furious Fingers from LA" in Lappynapped!? I think that should be added.

Denial

I personally don't think Denial should redirect to this page. I can think of many different instances of denial, such as in the paper and the chair that are clearly not blatant lies. -141.133.145.30 04:04, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

It redirects here because this page used to be called Denial. The community then decided to rename it to its current name. Heimstern Läufer 04:07, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

"College" Cheerleader?

From Teen Girl Squad 5: Should Cheerleader's insistence to the Olda Boys that she is 5 years older (than So And So) and in college be listed as an instance? Nyperold 00:35, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Yes. Teenagers aren't in collage. That Game Dude 386 21:05, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
First of all, yes, it's clearly a lie, secondly, 18 and 19 year olds are in college already. — Defender1031*Talk 21:07, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
But Cheerleader is a teen, not an adult. Both parts are clearly lies, sorry. That Game Dude 386 21:12, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm not saying she is, but 18 and 19 are still TEENS. You said Teenagers aren't in college. That is incorrect. — Defender1031*Talk 21:20, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
{edit conflict} Isn't Cheerleader the same age as So and So? And doesn't she go to highschool? If the answer to these two questions is "Yes" then it's a blatant lie. – The Chort 21:21, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
18 is the age of maturity in most parts of the world. Teen goes from 13-17, generally. That Game Dude 386 21:26, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
No... "Teen" is anywhere between thirTEEN and nineTEEN, as Strong Bad says in TGS 3. — Defender1031*Talk 21:27, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
BUT- In Teen Girl Squad Issue 9, only What's-her-face had a driver's lisence (obtainable at age 16), and only for a year, making her, presumably, 17 and the oldest. Technically, you're right, but that's kinda irrelevent. That Game Dude 386 21:37, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Ladies choice?

Does this really qualify as a blatant lie? He seems so sure they're gonna be there and then acts sincerely disappointed they didn't show. I think this belongs in the Ladies section.
