:Seriously folks, the inconsistency is confusing. Both here and on [[Strong Bad's Laundry Room]]. Does {{p|l=http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=Basement_of_the_Brothers_Strong&diff=568849&oldid=561516 this move}} make sense? I want to know before I start removing the redirects on all pages. I also want to do the same for [[Strong Bad's Laundry Room]]. {{User:Homestar-winner/sig}} 12:44, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

:Yes, it makes sense. I didn't like those inconsistencies from the start and, since Strong Bad isn't the only one living in the house, the basement and laundry room can't belong solely to him (unless he owns the house, but that's speculation). -{{User:Brightstar Shiner/sig}} 13:26, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Ding! Basement of the Brothers Strong is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

[edit] Floorplan

Ok, we can see that the rear wall is at least far enough befind the couch to allow characters to walk behind. And we see in Bug In Mouth Disease that the TV is flush to the wall. So here's a preliminary floorplan:

   -----------
              |
    ****** | <- couch
    *    *    |
            --| <- trogdor
            --|
     **** | <- TV and VCR
    ------

I have not seen it, but I understand the DVD might show more. Is there a door DL as there seems there must? What else do we know? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:07, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] McMurray Music Line?

I go to a place called McMurray Music, and they have the SAME line on thier logo. Look at this picture at http://www.brookmays.com/stores/store_pages/030.htm. The line is under the words. Is it just a coincidence? » c u t e p e t s r u s « T/C 02:50, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

It's similar, but not the same. Kinda looks patterned after a heart monitor either way. I'd call it coincidence, but a fun one. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 09:06, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Personally, I always assumed it was a reference to the stripe on first-gen Famicom cartridges. Kouban 22:27, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The Basement?

It says here that the basement appears in an easter egg in the Nightime Driving Type Game, but the place is actually Strong Bad's Room (from his main page), BUT Strong Bad says "Get outta my basement!!" at the end of the easter egg. Can these 2 rooms be linked somehow? Is there an explanation to this? Darkangel Get offa me! 06:49, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

No, no actual explanation. But the running theories are either that Strong Bad's room is IN the basement, or Strong Bad's room was a preliminary version OF the basement. Either is speculation, however, and his bedroom hasn't been seen since. --DorianGray 01:54, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Washington Color School?

Should we add an outside references section to the Strong Bad's Basement page? If so I think a reference to the Washington Color School would be in order, they were a group of artists responsible for the original idea behind the "three stripes" design on the basement wall.

If what Google's turned up is fairly representative of the movement then I fail to see the similarity other than that there are stripes. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 14:23, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rename?

Should we change the name to "Basement of the Brothers Strong"? If we got "Living room of the..." and "Bathroom of the...", we should change the name of the basement AND ALSO the name of the laundry room. --Charlie Jr. (Really. I have trouble staying logged in on a laptop computer.)

Well, considering the basement's located next to Strong Bad's bedroom (seen in email 185), I suppose it's okay to call it "Strong Bad's Basement." And unless the laundry room is located near his room, we should not refer to it as "Strong Bad's Laundry Room." Mmm, I guess TBC are just getting us to ponder what locations are near the other locations. --Charlie Jr. 17:23, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Page move

Does this move make sense? I want to know before I start removing the redirects on all pages. I also want to do the same for Strong Bad's Laundry Room. Homestar-Winner (talk) 12:44, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it makes sense. I didn't like those inconsistencies from the start and, since Strong Bad isn't the only one living in the house, the basement and laundry room can't belong solely to him (unless he owns the house, but that's speculation). -Brightstar Shiner 13:26, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
