Pom Pom and the Cheat?

Where is it stated that Pom Pom and the Cheat play badminton? Heimstern Läufer 05:46, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

The Cheat is holding a badminton racquet in labor day, and Strong Bad says he was playing badminton with Pom Pom in Where's the Cheat? - though the latter one was part of a prank call, so it's not proof that Pom Pom actually plays it... (The appearances list is there for a reason). --phlip TC 09:45, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
OK, good point about the appearances list. Now that I've checked it, I find the references to Pom Pom and the Cheat questionable. As Phlip points out, the only reference to Pom Pom playing badminton is in a prank call, which doesn't seem to warrant a mention on this page. As for the Cheat: do we know that those are in fact badminton racquets that he's carrying in labor day? I really couldn't tell you if there's a difference between badminton racquets and tennis racquets; somebody let me know if there is. If there isn't, the reference to the Cheat seems also to be shaky. Heimstern Läufer 03:49, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
Badminton racquets are longer and skinnier than tennis racquets, I believe... Tennis racquets are almost tear-shaped. --DorianGray
Badminton raquets have a much thinner frame and are much lighter - easier to swing, but wouldn't withstand a hit by a tennis ball (a shuttlecock is much lighter too). They also have a distinctive circular head which tennis raquets don't have. The Cheat is indeed carrying badminton raquets. --phlip TC 05:32, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
OK, good. The Cheat, check. Pom Pom, not so much. Anyone want to defend the reference to Pom Pom? Heimstern Läufer 23:17, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
I don't. Pom-pom wasn't playing Badminton. — talk Bubsty edits 19:49, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Merge proposal

This article in its current form has been around for well over two years. I don't find many of the things noted on Racquet Games to be notable. I also notice that there's only one mention of Badminton in the current version of the Racquet Games article, despite the three appearances listed here. I think we can keep this article and still delete Racquet Games. -- Tom 19:05, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps we could merge "Raquet Games" with this page instead of the other way around? Either that, or just delete "Raquet Games" altogether says I. kai lyn 19:45, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
I think this should stay as is and "Racquet Games" should go away, The list on that page is also included on the Sports page and/or here. There are running gags included with Badminton that go beyond what the Sports page is being used for, so this has value as is that could not be properly duplicated if merged. - ISTC 21:03, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Ah, yes. Just get rid of "Raquet Games" entirely. kai lyn 00:06, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Please consider why both articles should be kept separate- 1. They are both two different things, and in the email "army", it is only mentioned, opposed to 3 Times Halloween Fun Job, where a racquet is actually seen as a prop. 2. The email "flashback" is in a kids book format, so when Strong Bad and Coach Z play, it isn't completely relevant but is still an instance of Racquet Games. 3. In the email "Dangeresque 3", it is a movie that was put together (supposedly). Taking this fact into consideration, it can also be considered an instance. 4. In Decemberween Short Shorts, it is likely that it occured, however, it was not actually played or done by any of the characters. If any conclusion is to be reached, it should be that two different pages, one consisting of the email "flashback" and the email "Dangeresque 3" grouped together because these were actually played and acted between Strong Bad (Dangeresque), Coach Z and Homestar (Dangeresque too). The other instances, 3 Times Halloween Fun Job, "army" and Decemberween Short Shorts should simply be kept on another page. Thank You for considering these facts.
