Ding! Bad Graphics Ghost is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

Should BGG be categorized as a Character or a Computer. I'm leaning towards Character. It should not be categoried as both IMO. - Drhaggis

I think character, since it isn't the Tandy 400, it was only on it. --[[User:Upsilon|Upsilon]]

Ghost Name?

I added a note on the page about the name of the 'Bad Graphics Ghost', but do you think we should rename the page/character altogether? I mean, which is it? Bad Graphics, Or Pixel? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 00:37, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

People seem to think that this looks like the ghosts from Pac Man, but I kinda think it doesn't/ The only real connection is that they're both pixelated ghosts, in similar "sheet-with-eyeholes" style. -LuigiHann

Killing the ghost

I added a section about killing the ghost at the end of the email "ghosts". If you didn't already know about this easter egg, check it out.

Combine

How about we combine this article with Bad Graphics Homestar. To make like a page called Bad Graphics. Then we could also add in the easter egg from the Peasants Quest game preview.--H*Bad 19:25, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

Pac-Man ghosts

I agree with the removal of the following paragraph, but some people might not, so here's a place for discussion if anyone comes along and disagrees. Trey56 17:53, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

The Bad Graphics Ghost bears a resemblance to the ghost monsters depicted in the classic arcade game Pac-Man, developed by Namco in 1980.
It doesn't really resemble them that closely, though, and Pac-Man is not remotely the only game ever to have ghosts in it. --Jay (Talk) 17:55, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I entirely agree. Trey56 18:06, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
...although it WAS the first video game with ghosts, Pac-Man might not be the first appearance of "bad graphics ghosts"; witness the use of computers before 1980. (citation needed)

Creepy...

Do ya think TBC created this character to creep us out? 'Cause I'm as creeped out by it as by Sandbag from Super Smash Brothers Melee. When it lands on its back and gets back up on its own... (shudders) but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!!

I think that this would be better on the forum. And that Sandbag is actually a Goomba or Koopa in a sandbag. With sand. DEI DAT VMdatvm center\super contra 13:23, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

8 bit is enough(spoiler)

When strong bad's house is full of 8-bit ghosts, trying to use the lappy will make strong bad state:no way am i using the lappy while the house is full of ghosts.I could get sucked into the screen or something.Homestar then says:I hear that's how the bad graphics ghost started out!Should it be noted on this page? Also,i only have the demo.--Mariofan1000 22:29, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Added. Thanks for the noticing. --DorianGray 22:35, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Lappy

Does anyone think we can put something on the Lappy-vampire-ghost thing here? Strongkinghomsarsmith 19:38, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

I'll add it. That seems similar enough. But first: is the image of it still around? It used to be used, but was replaced and may have been deleted. If anyone can find it for me I'll type it up. Nope, it's gone. I'll type it anyways, but could someone get a new image up? My new seek bar can't do what my old one could. --Jellote wuz here 20:07, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I got one. Strongkinghomsarsmith 20:11, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks SKHS (if I can call you that). I'll be right on it... TA-DONE! --Jellote wuz here 20:28, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I don't think it belongs on this page, as that spectral image is not a "bad graphics" anything. — Defender1031*Talk 20:39, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Ah, but it is the same type of ghost as the Bad Graphics Ghost and the Compy Skeleton. Plus, the graphics are definitely not as good as they should be on the Lappy-screen version of the ghost.--Jellote wuz here 20:43, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure it is the same kind of thing. Both of those appeared on the screen of the ghosts of the computers. This image appeared in the flames of the explosion. Also, it's not blocky or pixelly in any way, making it not bad graphics. — Defender1031*Talk 20:46, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
But it is pixelly. It's made of pixels. -132.183.140.130 20:49, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Aw crudcrap. You beat me to the punch. Anyway, I was going to say:
Actually, I found that it is blocky while waiting for a response. Look a little closer. Large square pixels. Secondly, my edit summary was a joke in response to your edit summary joke and not a jab at you. I know where that was from. I had wathed it minutes before, actually. --Jellote wuz here 20:55, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Weird, but I watched just watched that a couple minutes ago, too... free 20:57, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I take back what I said. It IS blocky. The only question is which image to use. File:Spectral Lappy.png is the original, but i feel like the gray is too light to be distinguishable, so I also made File:Spectral Lappy Darkened.png in which i darkened the color somewhat. Tell me what you guys think. — Defender1031*Talk 21:11, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I prefer the darker one because it holds more memory, though you have to fold it up to fit it in these new computers it is more clear and less saturated. Thanks Defender.--Jellote wuz here 21:14, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I too prefer the darkened version, for the reasons mentioned above. Strongkinghomsarsmith 21:16, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I don't know why your original upload was so light. I redid it and it came out darker. I think it looks fine enough. I'd prefer to have an image that's not manipulated over one that is, if the one that's not manipulated will do. — It's dot com 21:19, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I also dunno what happened... Yours looks fine... in fact, it looks better than my darkened version. I also like that depending what angle I look at my screen from, it's either perfectly visible, or disappears completely, which i think is part of what made the spectral image so cool in the toon itself. — Defender1031*Talk 21:21, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Typed Versions

Why did someone remove the typed versions section?

As I said in my edit summary, it was not really accurate to the original (you were using ░ for blocks that were supposed to be completely empty) and didn't really add anything to the page that wasn't already visible in the images. I hope that explains it. By the way, welcome to the wiki! — Defender1031*Talk 20:13, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
