The wiki is not a concordance. As such we tend to document things and concepts that are not mundane, whether being unique to the H*R universe, used as a humorous motif, or particularly novel in its application. After noticing [[crap]] lists uses both comedic and mundane, I got the impression we should do the same for this word.  I got away with adding a few mundane uses, but a recent addition of "[[TGS 12|Sometimes, wizards are so awesome, it hurts]]" got undone.  What should we do? {{User:Bad Bad Guy/sig}} 01:57, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

[edit] First article deleted

The wiki is not a concordance. As such we tend to document things and concepts that are not mundane, whether being unique to the H*R universe, used as a humorous motif, or particularly novel in its application. I don't see the value of listing each occurence of a specific and common word's usage. Propose deletion. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:54, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

I agree. "Awesome" is a common word, and it's not like the word is being used in any strange way (usually). Delete. Homestar-Winner (talk) 22:02, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
I've actually been tempted to create a page called "The", to document all the times the word "The" has been used, in protest of pages like this one. Only, I wouldn't *really* do that, because it'd be pointless, and would ultimately solve nothing. All right, I feel better now that I said that. As for this, delete. -YKHi. Did anyone actually read this article before voting? I thought some of those appearances were unusual enough. Bad Bad Guy 22:15, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
I couldn't find anything much out of the ordinary. If you think that some appearances are unusual and that there is a common theme, then you should change the article description and only list occurrences that fit the description. But as I said, I can't see any interesting pattern in there, so currently I think it should be deletedLoafing 22:45, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
BBG, some usages may be somewhat novel, but it's so commonplace for people to use this word in novel constructions that it's hardly notable that the citizens of Free Country USA do as well. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 22:48, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, I see where this article is going, but it's just too common a word to merit a page, in my opinion. Delete. Trey56 22:57, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

A spoon if ever i saw one. delete — Defender1031*Talk 23:05, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
I tried a few times to remove the plainest instances and ended up realizing about 2/3 had to go (except "one to awesome", "awexome cross", "awesome sauce", "kick-awesome", and "bro-awesome"). If those are not enough for an article than change my vote to delete. Bad Bad Guy 22:48, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
You know what, that's a pretty short list compared to style or type. Just delete this article and finally record our explanations as to why we are not crazy enough to have an Awesome article. Bad Bad Guy 13:22, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Okay, per the above consensus and request by BBG, I've deleted this page. Trey56 23:50, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Too much of an awesome thing

After noticing crap lists uses both comedic and mundane, I got the impression we should do the same for this word. I got away with adding a few mundane uses, but a recent addition of "Sometimes, wizards are so awesome, it hurts" got undone. What should we do? BBG 01:57, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

I already imposed one rule on myself: If a toon or SBCG4AP episode has one jokeish use of this word and several mundane uses, only the jokeish use would go mentioned on this page. (eg, Notice that the article mentions the part of flashback where Strong Bad makes the word "awesome" appear onscreen twice, but not the part where he simply exclaims that it's "awesome!" to win your own The Cheat.)
