Man, I was hoping for something really good. This April Fool's wasn't all that funny, and it simply made an ugly mess of the Main Pages. I just hope that this just means that email 150 is that much better! --Jay stuck at home (Talk) 05:36, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Agreed... It actually gives me a headache. It's very disorienting. --DorianGray
I hope they do more and fix out the kinks when it's April Fool's for different time zones. PurpleKoopa 06:13, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
It appears that all the pages are upside down...which is annoying, but effective given that it took a minute to realize it just turned April 1.--Motorbikematt 06:39, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, it kind of gives me a headache. Still, it's kind of cool. Btw, nice sig Jay. I mean Tom. I mean DOUBLE DEUCE!!!! ŢɦųηɗəřÞìɤɖ 08:14, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
I have no idea what you're talking about. My sig just got a small color change due to the fact that my birthday is in less than a year from yesterday. --Jay stuck at home (Talk) 08:38, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

It's funny, but at the expense of every other joke on the site. 14:46, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

How did they do it?

Does any one know how they did it? I doubt they manually fliped every movie (and 150 sbemails).

149.5 actually. They did it by changing all the embedded swf files to "theyCallHimFlipper.swf?contentURL=name of original swf file.swf", which flips them over. --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif 14:50, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Changed throughout the early morning

I was there at random times up until about 2 am (darn college lifestyle) At some point the main page and the toons menu page were both unrotated. They also had the Weeklies items (QFSR) moved at about the same time.

Anyone else get a chance to see this?

I did. --TheThin 15:17, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Now I'm mad!

Now everything's upside down! TBC have just ruind April Fools' Day! This isn't funny! Chess Cheese

So who agrees with me? Chess Cheese

Not me! --TheThin 16:02, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
Not me, either! I like it! H * R 7 0 0 16:02, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Well, there could have been a cartoon, but no, the site just HAD to be messed up. On purpose! Chess Cheese

It's not like it'll be forever. Even if it was, you could always buy the DVDs. :) —FireBird|Talk 16:07, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Nah, I'de rather steal them. :) Chess Cheese

They COULD have made a cartoon, but that would mean you would have had to wait longer for sbemail 150. —BazookaJoe 16:15, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

That would be definetly worh it, unless it's my email. Chess Cheese

Hm. Well, it wasn't as funny as Under Construction and PAY PLUS! were, but not bad... kinda cliche, though. I've seen that joke many times. -YK 06:12, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

lol look at This. --TheThin 16:36, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Déjà vû…

Man, all those glitches remind me so badly of the subtitles Flash thingy I made back in the day... Exactly like Flipper, it had to load a swf from the Homestar site and display it with various differences (flipper has it upside down, subtitles had it with text overlayed). I had the same problem with weird-proportion toons (took about a page worth of geometry and algebra to fix that one), toons that used _root (it took me days to find _lockroot), and missing text in certain toons (I never fixed this one... I "fixed" it by never subtitling Under Construction...). It doesn't surprise me one bit that TBC hit the same problems. --phlip TC 17:25, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

i have deja vu to. the upside down strong bad email gives me deja vu... Slipknot6477 03:02, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

A Conspiracy?

[Making Fiends] has some of its old cartoons edited for April Fools Day as well. Specifically all the characters have beards. Are any other sites doing things like this? PolarBoy

Quite a few. --phlip TC 17:38, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Well guys it's all over. DBK! 06:13, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Darn. --TheThin 16:05, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
You should feel lucky, then, 'coz Phlip's Homestar All-In-One 2.0 includes a setting that can flip toons upside-down, even though 01-04-06 is long gone. --Y2K (15px-Crystal_Clear_app_xchat.png15px-Crystal_Clear_app_kedit.png15px-Crystal_Clear_app_email.png) 10:09, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

What about us?

Should we make some mention of hrwiki's AFD adventures? Especially considering the fact that our admins joke was much better than even the Brothers Chaps' and should go down in Homestar Runner History. Of course it makes sense for it to be in the history of the wiki, but maybe at least a mention as a fun fact... -privatedrew

It could go on the history section of our site. I think it's called HRWiki:A History or something.

Too much spare time

The fact that you guys had enough time to go through every e-mail and main page to find problems really makes me wonder what some people value in life. — (Talk | contribs) April 2, 2005 (left unsigned)
I agree, I mean I may be a little nitpicky and nerdy, but dayum.
Nicko9y 04:37, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Well, it's not like it was all done by a single person... - Joshua 23:10, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

this looks different

The real one whould be located here. --TheThin 22:45, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

No, it says close and Homestar says something now. Riley

Sweet Cuppin' Cakes

The problem is fixed, well at least it is on my computer. Try actually looking at the main page. - Volbeat A The Cheat 05:36, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Well, it's still bloke on mine. --DorianGray

secret pages?

wouldn't all of the upside-down versions be considered secret pages? Slipknot6477 14:47, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

No, but the Flash file that flips the pages, theyCallHimFlipper.swf, is considered a Site Component. A site component is a part of the site that isn't normally accessed on its own and is usually embedded in another file, like the Very, Very Little Girl Easter egg from Summer Short Shorts. Has Matt? (talk) 15:59, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

so... where is they call him flipper embedded? Slipknot6477 16:08, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Flip Anytime

You know that some some computers can flip their screen? Just press Ctrl + Alt + The Down Arrow. Only some can. To redo your screen Just press Ctrl + Alt + The Up Arrow.

  • From Onestop

How does the flash file work? I tried decompiling it but there was an empty stage and some actionscript. When I clicked on the frame, the align panel said "rotate: 180" btu there was nothing there! Could one of the more experienced flash users help me out on this? --Homfrog 20:22, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Problems with Lappy Screen...

A glitch where when you hold down the mouse button (IE: like you're touching the lappy screen itself) doesn't stay touched. This may be due to incorrect masking. -- 04:33, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it's actually already in Glitches. There's an explanation for why it did that, but I don't understand any of it. Homestar-Winner (talk) 12:16, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Since this toon was never given an official name, I think it should be moved to April Fool 06 to match the newest April Fools' Day article, April Fool 09, which was given that name on Homestar Homestar-Winner (talk) 22:22, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

I don't think so. For starters, this isn't a toon, and the name we have now is technically superior to April Fool 06 given that neither is officially on the site. --Jay stuck at home (Talk) 22:44, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Where is it? Where is it?

It's gone! They Call Him Flipper is gone! I guess TBC are cleaning up the wedsite a bit.

It works for me... That'sBupkis! 15:05, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
For me, it still doesn't work, and it's February 5th. I don't have a problem with updates, usually; I always get them the day they happen, so either you aren't getting the update, or something very strange is going on...
