[edit] Deletion

That word is not that notable. It's not even outdated according to Webster ([1]). Loafing 21:33, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

It's no longer in common use, meaning it's archaic. Therefore, it's notable.
Also, Wikipedia says it's "a historical term" for a pharmacist. Retromaniac 21:49, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Hmmm, "archaic" might be a bit too much here. Anyway, according to Wikipedia, an Apothecary's job description was a bit different from that of a pharmacist. So I guess it's a historic thing that would be out of place in the modern world, and therefore maybe notable. Not so in the old-timey toons, though. I'm still not quite convinced that this is notable. Loafing 21:52, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

I think it's a borderline case. But TBC seem to use the word as a running gag of sorts, so I've taken the deletion notice off. Sorry for the trouble ;-) Loafing 22:37, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

A reasoned, mature discussion is never trouble. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 02:07, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] He's No Apothecary

I'd like to know the name of the toon with "He's no apothecary" as it's title. Retromaniac 21:36, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

It's actually the Toons Menu description for Mr. Shmallow. --Jaybor Day (Talk) 21:38, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
It's been fixed, thank you.

[edit] A Private Eye, A Crooked Cop...

...a secret agent, and a celebrity pharmacist, Dangeresque? -- 68.37.43.131 23:15, 6 January 2019 (UTC)

This article is a word running gag, so it's necessary for the word "apothecary" to occur for it to fit the gag. A synonym doesn't work in this case. Heimstern Läufer 05:01, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
