== Coach Z's Dream ==
Coach Z's dream is uncannily similar to the cut scene in '''''Zelda: Majora's Mask''''' when you skip time ahead by playing ''the song of double time.'' This is characterized by the spinning background and the objects flying towards the camera. However the most striking similarity is that a rooster crows and the next scene fades in. Again- the spinning background, flying objects, and rooster are very, very, similar. And also, because Majoras Mask was released on Oct. 1, 2000 (5 months before the release of this toon) It is certainly worth noting in the "real world references" section of this toon's page. --Douglas_fir

I don't think it's a reference so much as it's representative of how Homestar and Pom Pom converse. Or, more accurately, how Homestar talks to Pom Pom. As time has passed and the status of their friendship seems ever more distant (and Homestar has become ever more randomly idiotic), Homestar doesn't really have cause to say "Oh man, Pom Pom" anymore...it's a catch phrase that didn't catch on and gracefully expired. Or am I wrong, and there's a third (or fourth) instance of Homestar saying this? Either way, it's a trait and not a reference. [[User:Thesmokingmonkey|The Smoking Monkey]] 12:45, 7 Aug 2005 (UTC)

On the Trivia section it states It would take 100 hours to listen to "job" 285,194 times, but, who said Coach Z did listen to the WHOLE THING? He could of just listend from the amount of time Strong Sad could say job from 8-10 hours (the amount of time Coach z would of slept), It's possible!

:Exactly. The fact says "it ''would'' take him..." it doesn't say "Since it would take about 100 hours to say "job" 285,194 times, Coach Z slept for 100 hours." see what I'm saying? Nowhere does it say that Coach Z slept through the ''whole'' tape, so I think the fact is fine how it is. Ding! A Jorb Well Done is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

Goofs?

The last goof says that Coach Z is looking at the screen instead of the chalkboard in the "chalkboard scene." After reviewing it, I realized something - since Z's noggin is a silhouette, his head could be construed as looking either way. The same optical illusion occurs in MST3K - if you look a Crow T. Robot's head while in silhouette, it might seem as if he's watching the viewer instead of the movie.

So, my point in all of this is that it's not a 'goof' but an optical illusion. Any takers? The Smoking Monkey 13:15, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Nope, it's a goof. Here's how to tell: Take a screenshot of the scene in question and open it in an image editor, like Photoshop. If you don't have Photoshop, go get it; it's good. Next, turn the brightness way up, and what do you see? Coach Z's eyes! He's definitely looking at the camera. Those sly Chaps! They thought we wouldn't notice. — It's dot com 13:42, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Wow - I'll take your word for it. That's really funny that they would do that... The Smoking Monkey 16:04, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
