The Quote of the Week is a sound bite from the Homestar Runner body of work. These are found by clicking on the Q at the top of the Main Pages, and are generally updated each week on Thursday. Here is a list of all Quotes of the Week collected since this feature started on January 10, 2002, under the name "Quote of the day". Since early 2004, the Quote of the Week was updated with more regularity. For some time before then, the quote of the week was a "what's new?" oval button. The dates of some quotes are estimated on the basis of the file-modified date.
- For the July 29–November 11, 2004 quotes, the quote was only available as a .zip file. As of the November 22 quote, however, the download option appears to only be as a straight MP3, and The Brothers Chaps appear to be deleting each quote of the week as soon as the next one is released.
- Quotes after November 11, 2004, are transcribed on the website. Directly saving and opening the Flash file produces some odd results; the standard Homestar image will appear along with a default message, as shown on the right.
- On July 27, 2006, a "loading" box was added for while the quote was loading, probably due to the unusual length of that day's quote. The following week, on August 3, 2006, the loading box was removed.

- The September 27, 2007 quote mentions polychaete worms, a class of worms that are known for their bristles and marine environments.
- The March 5, 2009 quote mentions xanthan gum, a common ingredient in gluten-free baking, and bulgar (or bulgur), which is prepared from gluten-containing wheat.
Trivia
- The remix in the June 25, 2009 quote was originally called "Power Crunch" and is available unedited.
- In Bubs's quote from June 30th, 2005, "Check it out" was said 16 times.
- On December 21, 2006, only the Quote of the Week was updated; the Weekly Fanstuff and Sketchbook were not.
- On October 22, 2014, the Quote of the Week was updated for the first time in exactly five years (October 22, 2009). This was the longest hiatus between pop-up updates on record.
- The fan version of the CGNU fight song is in a different key than in mascot -- B flat instead of F.
Remarks
- Occasionally, some quotes are used twice.
- Homsar's "I'm the human wedgie" quote was used twice on February 17, 2005, and June 7, 2005. Although the two sound bites were identical, the text used in both cases was slightly different. (The first time it was "I'm" whereas the second was "AAAaaaAAh'm").
- Homestar's "The good times are over!" quote was also used twice on June 16, 2005, and October 20, 2005, with spelling differences (lower-case letters instead of caps.) However, this probably was an accident or a placeholder, as it was changed the following day.
- Although it wasn't identical, Bubs's quote for March 25, 2005 ("Everybody knows me. My name Cornbread."), is very similar to his quote for February 16 2006 ("I got it-I got everything you wan know. Everybody know me, my name Cornbread.").
- The Homestar Runner's "Well, folks, you know what that means..." quote had only one difference; there was a colon on March 31, 2005, while ellipses were used on November 30, 2006.
- The quotes released on October 25, 2007, and September 22, 2005 were originally identical. However, the 2007 quote was changed within hours of being released. The quote it was changed to was suggested in the edit summary of the edit adding Sickly Sam's quote to this page.
- Strong Bad's quote from June 10th, 2005, was never featured on the site. Instead, it was said in "Where the Crap Are We?", which is an Easter egg in Macromedia Central.
- When using a character head that hasn't been added yet, Homestar's head is used until the appropriate character's head is uploaded. This has happened several times.

- February 9, 2006's quote calls the feature "Quote of the Day" rather than its typical name "Quote of the Week".
- The May 4, 2006 quote spelled the name of Strong Bad's imaginary girlfriend as "Delelilia". However, in senior prom, her name was spelled "Delilelia".
- The November 17, 2006 quote is titled as an "outtake" in the ID3 tag. The quote may have originally been an outtake, then added to the toon as an Easter Egg.
- In the January 31, 2008 quote, "carrageenan" is misspelled "carageenan".
- In the March 13, 2008 quote, the "The" in The Cheat's name is not capitalized, and there is no comma after "blows". "Blowhole" is also misspelled as two words.
- The July 10, 2008 quote reads "taken out if" instead of "of it".
- In the October 16, 2008 quote's text, the word "hundred" appears after "200".

- If there is a problem finding the weeklies XML file, the text (which has no sound) is Homestar saying:

Real-World References
- Strong Sad's quote about tai chi may be a nod to The Simpsons episode "HOMЯ", which had a similar tai chi/chai tea gag.
- In the June 29, 2006 quote, "Circle gets the square" is a reference to the game show Hollywood Squares, which is based on tic-tac-toe; the accompanying phrase is "X gets the square." Shadoe Stevens was the announcer for two incarnations of the show (the John Davidson and Tom Bergeron-hosted versions), and occupied a square on the Davidson version.
- The December 14, 2006 quote mentions "Montelbon", probably a reference to Ricardo Montalbán.
- In the August 9, 2007 quote, Bubs spells Nestles, a Swiss maker of candy and other food products. It's a reference to Nestle's long standing jingle, "N-E-S-T-L-E-S, Nestle's makes the very best", especially its Alpine White version from the '80s, "Sweet dreams you can't resist. N-E-S-T-L-E-S."
- The September 13, 2007 quote references Frosties and McFlurries, ice cream treats served at Wendy's and McDonald's, respectively.
- In the March 26, 2009 quote, Homestar mentions Darryl Strawberry, a former Major League Baseball player.
- In the 04 June 2009 quote, D&D Greg mentions the "Talenta Halflings" and "riding dinosaurs". This refers to the Eberron Campaign Setting of Dungeons and Dragons, where the Talenta Plains are the homelands of the halflings, who do indeed ride on large raptor-like dinosaurs and herd various breeds of herbivorous dinosaurs.
- In the 15 Oct 2009 quote, Coach Z mentions "Paughkeegan", which might be referring to Waukegan, a suburb of Chicago. Coach Z's accent is distinctly Upper Midwestern, which makes it very plausible that he'd know a person from Waukegan (or "Paughkeegan").
- In the October 30, 2014 quote, Marzipan delivers the trailer version of a line spoken by Anton Chigurh, the antagonist in the 2007 film No Country For Old Men who was portrayed by Javier Bardem. The line is actually a combination of two lines from the same scene. As Chigurh visits a filling station, he says to the proprietor, "What business is it of yours where I'm from, friendo?" Later in the scene, he allows the proprietor to choose his fate by a coin toss but only tells him to call it and doesn't say "friendo" again. The Halloween Safety teaser and the Sketchbook released the same day as the quote revealed that The Brothers Chaps were considering making Marzipan dress as Chigurh for I Killed Pom Pom.
