The Black Poopsmith

Monty Python is a British 70's comedy troupe best remembered for their TV show Monty Python's Flying Circus and for movies such as Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Life of Brian. The Brothers Chaps pay tribute to these legends by referencing them in the Homestar Runner body of work.

Appearances

  • Parsnips A-Plenty — The "scene missing" gag is used in an episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus.
  • Stinkoman 20X6 — "Prawn Salad" is a skit-name from "Monty Python's Flying Circus".
  • The House That Gave Sucky Treats — Homestar saying Strong Bad's costume is the "Spanish Inquisition" is a reference to a Monty Python sketch of the same name.
  • The Heavy Lourde — A similar gag appears Monty Python's Flying Circus, which had a similar running gag with a weight that said "16 TONS" on it.
  • Peasant's Quest Movie Trailer — The Blue Knight's face guard slamming down over his face after he says his last line is reminiscent of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, in which Sir Bedevere's face guard slams down after he says many of his lines.
  • Sketchbook — on 2/16/06, the sketch is a drawing of The Poopsmith in an intimidating pose saying "None shall pass." This is a quote by The Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
  • Thy Dungeonman 3 — Just before you begin answering the hag's questions, she says "If ye answers questions three..." This is a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, in which the old man at the Bridge of Death proclaims "Who would cross the Bridge of Death must answer me these questions three, 'ere the other side he see."
  • Peasant's Quest Outtakes — Matt sounds very similar to Michael Palin from Monty Python when he has his wig forward.
