Revision as of 09:15, 5 May 2023

Just as people in the real world need to eat, so do the characters in the Homestar Runner universe. These food items are varied, from strange ethnic foods to common junk food. Some foods are just plainly ridiculous in their name, shape, or size, while others look normal. Some characters even have their own brand of food named after themselves (or as a pun on their name) or shaped like the character.

Contents

General Minor Foods

Image Description Appearances
He brought some ambrosia salad. Ambrosia salad is a fruit salad variation that normally contains sour cream, whipped cream, mandarin oranges, pineapple, and coconut. Some variations also contain bananas, strawberries, or miniature marshmallows. Ripberger takes some to Blue Laser's Thanksgiving Party in Let us give TANKS!, and it was light blue with white and yellow chunks in it, served in a large yellow bowl. Let us give TANKS!
"Thanks for the chippies, Strong Bad!" Andy Capp's Hot Fries are given to Coach Z by Strong Bad with the seeming intention of harming him. This graphic was later reused for the Cheat-Toes in Kick-A-Ball. Email your friends

"I brought him a hot covered dish to brighten his dismal life." Corn Krunch Corn Krunch is a corn flake cereal. Homestar Runner hot-glues the flakes to his face to make himself ugly for the "jazz ensemble" in death metal. It claims to come with a free full-size alto saxophone. In specially marked, it is one of the Iowa-grown cereals Strong Bad says to avoid since it is only likely to include fitness products as free toys. Email death metal, Email specially marked
"Homestar, can you pass the soy crisps?" Crisps, A-Soy! is a soy-based snack food. Naturally, Marzipan enjoys them, and perhaps The Cheat does as well. It is unclear from the packaging whether they are made by the "Health!!" company or just that they're supposedly healthy.

The name is a reference to Chips Ahoy! cookies and to the many soy products whose names contain puns on the word "soy" (e.g. "Soy Good" soy milk).

Email do over
Actual bowls of crispy puffed rice cereal Crispy puffed rice is a type of cereal that has appeared a few times in the Homestar Runner universe. "Okay. If you say so. Would you care for some dry meal?" Dry Meal is a sack of a powdery substance, offered to Stinkoman by The Homestar Runner. It presumably contains some sort of ground flour, although the specific cereal grain or starch from which it is derived is not known. Its appearance is accompanied by a gasping noise. 20X6 vs. 1936
"Favorite foods, spiced buns, and all that, and all that." 1-Up's favorite food comes in a blue box that features nonsensical characters that resemble Japanese kanji and hiragana. 1-Up simply calls the box "favorite food", although it is unknown whether that is its true name. "We really just made it!" Buying Last Minit Peanut Brittle is evidently the real reason to go on business trips. According to Strong Bad, it could also likely swim better than The Spirit of St. Louis. Email business trip
"No Halloween Night could resist these orange and black flavored loose tooth remover candies." Orange-and-Black-Flavored Loose Tooth Remover Candies are what Homestar used to lure Halloween night into a cardboard box. After The Cheat eats them in Haunted Photo Booth, his gold tooth falls out and gets caught on everyone else's Halloween costumes, causing a ghost-like glare in their Photo Boooth photos. Strong Sad describes them as "nasty", but they are enjoyed by The Cheat and The King of Town. Happy Hallow-Day, Doomy Tales of the Macabre, Haunted Photo Booth
"I still hate you and later on, you're gonna get cut!" In Peasant's Quest, a meatball sub is an optional item which may be used to appease the first Keeper of Trogdor. Firebert's choice
Nutmeg appears as Firebert's secret escape plan, as he'll be able to eat anything it's sprinkled on, allowing him to eat his Christmas light restaints. A real whole nutmeg and grater come packaged with Limited Edition Holiday Firebert action figures. Dangeresque Puppet Squad: The Hot Jones Hijack
"That way, I would always...have a bucket. You know, for like, dumping oatmeal on stuff..." Strong Bad insisted that he would want to replace one of his hands with a bucket, that he could fill with oatmeal and pour on things. Email new hands
"IT TASTES SO GOOD!" Pasta salad was put into Strong Mad's underwear drawer starting the "Who Put Pasta Salad in Strong Mad's Underdrawer Drawer Scare of '04". Strong Mad doesn't seem to mind, saying it tastes so good. Email old comics (Easter egg)
"Hey there, Bubs in the store. Paunchberry's was a new ice cream!" Paunch Berry Icéd Cream is a "new" brand of ice cream.
