Marzipan's Greeting

MARZIPAN: Ooo! Oooo! Happy Halloween, don't be too scared.. 'cause it's Halloween. Please leave a message. This is Marzipan. {beep}

Message 5

STRONG SAD: Hey, Marzipan. I was just letting you know that Homsar and I are gonna bust out the Ouija board tonight, and if you're up for it.. could be pretty fun. I'm.. hoping to see if any dead people will be my friends. Alright. See ya.

Message 4

BUBS: Hey, Bubs.. this is Marzipan! Oh, snap! I mean... hey, Marzipan, this is Bubs! Just wanted to let you know that, Coach Z got that kick in the crotch you sent him just fine. He's chillin' out on the couch right now. I-I think he'll be out of commission for a while. Uh, anyways, remember, Friday is tainted candy sellback day at the concession stand, so, be sure to stop on by. Later.

Message 3

HOMSAR: {crazy wailing} AaAah. RaAaAaAah. AaAaAaAaAaah! RaAaAh. Raaerr.

Message 2

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Trick or Treat! {pause} Marzipan?... you got any treats? No? Then you get a trick! {attempting ominous voice} Ohhh, this isn't Homestar after all! My name is Dead Guy Perez... alternately known as the D.G.P... and I'm... a dead guy! I'm coming to your house. {thump, thump, thump, crash} Oh. I knocked over the thing. Um... I'm not coming to your house after all, but... leave me a message, and I'll get right back to you.

Message 1

STRONG BAD: Uh, good day to you Mrs. Pan. This is... Safety Dan, over here at the Safety... Squad. Uh, just calling you with some Halloween safety tips. Always remember, when trick-or-treating, to wear all black and paint your face black and dye your hair black... you know, all- everything black. If need be, wrap yourself in electrical tape and walk in the middle of the street at all times and dart quickly into the street, and across intersections. Also, we have recently come to find that your house has in no way been targeted for multiple eggings and toilet paperings. So you've got nothing to worry about. Probably just go to your stupid boyfriend's party and, um, no one at all will egg the everloving crap out of your house. Okay. Once again, I'm Safety Dan. Happy Halloween.

Easter Eggs

  • After the final message, click on the tape deck to hear Homestar try to sing "Back in Black" by AC/DC.
HOMESTAR RUNNER: {singing} Doot! Doo doo doot! Doo doo doot! Deedoodadeedoo! Boop! Boo doo doot! Boo doo doot! Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong! Well I'm back in black, and I'm hittin' the sack and everybody does something and all, uh, back in the black {stops singing, pauses} ...um... I don't know the words. I just like that guy's little schoolboy outfit.

Fun Facts

  • After singing "Back in Black" on the Easter egg, Homestar says he likes "that guy's little schoolboy outfit." Clearly this is a reference to Angus Young of AC/DC. Homestar showed his love for that outfit by wearing it as his costume in the Pumpkin Carve-nival, released two days prior.
  • Safety Dan is a reference to Dan, a running gag. It is also likely a reference to "The Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats, a major dance hit in 1983.
  • This toon was actually released on the exact same day as "ghosts".
