The Brothers Chaps often make reference to the act of giving a high five. In addition to the characters within the Homestar Runner Universe giving and talking about high fives, TBC often use the phrase in public appearances.
Spoken
- In the TMBG Concert - 25 Sep 2004, Homestar Runner said, "Oh, I'm always givin' high fives."
- In Strong Bad's character video, he says, "Dudes, form a line to my right for high fives!" Later, Homestar says, "Well, I was gonna get a high five, but, I see that I'm already here. And with a snake on my head!"
- Crack Stuntman sang, "Throw your hands in the air for some high-fives" in An Important Rap Song
- In the Inkhole_Interview Matt Chapman said, "The Cheat made a cartoon recently and there's a part where Strong Bad and The Cheat give each other high fives in space." referring to new boots.
- In technology Strong Bad says to Pom Pom, "...and he just got into Sundance! High-five, brother!"
- Strong Bad says in autobiography, "I was trying to high-five everyone in sight."
- In the DVD Commentary of Decemberween Sweet Cuppin' Cakes Mike Chapman says, "Hey, high five."

- In response to an emailed birthday card to Matt Chapman in 2005, he replied, "...High fives all the times, Matt"
- To help celebrate Burning Horizon Forum's anniversary, Matt wrote, "...High fives to everybody..."
- In the old game Fortune Cookies, one fortune says, "From now on, give only high-fives."
- On the main page message on Wednesday, August 31, 2005, it said, "Stop by for discounted merchandise and FREE high fives!"
- In the game Hallrunner the Franciscan Monk replies "It was a Franciscan monk. Wimpiest monk ever. High five. *+2 points*" when fight is typed.
- Jhonka is decribed as being of low intelligence in an easter egg in impression where it says, "Gimme five. Up high. Down low. Too slow."

- In A Jumping Jack Contest The Cheat and Strong Mad high five.
- While at The Stick in labor day, Strong Bad says "No. You're fat. High-five, The Stick!" He later appologises by saying, "Sorry about that high-five thing."
- In Everybody Knows It the puppet Homestar gives high fives to They Might Be Giants.
- In New Boots Strong Bad says, "High five, The Cheat!" while reaching into outer space where they give each other a high five.
- In keep cool Strong Bad high fives the audience.
