:::Oh, it does. That's odd. Anyway, if you use MSPaint, then you should have no problem. When you save the image, there's a drop-down list at the bottom (called "Save as type") where you can choose between *.bmp and *.png.{{User:Loafing/sig}} 23:50, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Screenshots

Could this page be expanded to also include how to take screenshots to upload? --DorianGray

I'm thinking that should probably go on Special:Upload instead. — Lapper (talk) 20:47, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
Speaking of that how do you take screenshots from cartoons. — Austio talk 03:10, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Depends on your Operating System:
  • On Windows, I the "Print Screen" button will copy an image of your screen to the clipboard, which you can paste into image editing software to crop. (There is some way to take a shot of just the current window and not the whole screen, CTRL+Print Screen maybe? I cannot test this, my Windows computer is in the office).
  • On a Mac, use <apple> + <shift> + 3, to save an image of the screen to your desktop. Use 4 to select an area of the screen to capture. Add <ctrl> to either of those to copy to the clipboard instead of saving a file. These are the default keybindings and can be changed in the keyboard preferences.BryanCTC 03:26, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Sorry what I meant to say was how do you take screen shots while the movie is playing. — Austio talk 05:16, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
If you're asking how to freeze the video (an entirely different question) then you need to install a seekbar. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 05:36, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

I also find viewing the SWF, right-clicking, and hitting "Pause" works well too. --DorianGray
Thanx Loafing for helping me figure this out (and I already knew about the other two things said).- Austio talk 06:25, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

.bmp

uh, i want to upload a image on the fanstuff wiki, but it is in .bmp form what do i do? Im a bell 18:57, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

You should really ask questions regarding the fanstuff wiki over there. This is the knowledge base. But anyway, you need to use a program like MS Paint or The Gimp to open the image and then save it as a .png image. Loafing 20:32, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

It makes sense that all the wiki-related help stuff be redirected over here. That way work is not duplicated, since the fanstuff has to deal with similar editing problems as we do.
