Homestar Runner Power Alley Dale Murphy Dale Murphy was a Major League Baseball outfielder who played from 1976 until 1993. Murphy played for the Atlanta Braves until 1990 and wore jersey number 3, which the team retired in his honor. Homestar's costume is specifically modeled after Nike's Power Alley poster of Murphy that featured the baseball player holding a glowing yellow bat.
