Filmographies

I believe the Strong Bad E-mails are now all updated with filmographies. If someone would like to double check, that'd be cool. - Grumblebaker [9 Oct '04 00:27 CDT]

I have made the Category: Strong Bad Email a sub-cat of the Strong Bad Filmography. This is much more logical and reduces clutter in the Category:Strong Bad Filmography. This means all emails should be categorized as email only and not directly in the filmography. Drhaggis 09:44, 10 Oct 2004 (MST)
I have gone through all the Strong Bad Emails and removed the Category: Strong Bad Filmography from each. - Drhaggis 11:05, 10 Oct 2004 (MST)
Does this mean that everything's done with respect to emails & filmographies, and thus can be removed from the project list? - Grumblebaker 11 Oct '04 19:26 CDT
Well, I just double checked it, so I am removing the email portion from the project list with regard to filmographies. - Grumblebaker 16 Oct '04 10:25 CDT
The Answering Machines and TGSs are done as well. - Grumblebaker 16 Oct '04 21:20 CDT, edit 23 Oct '04 14:24 CDT

Hey, so thejesterx brought up a good point elsewhere in that there are Strong Bad Emails without Strong Bad and thus should not contribute to his filmography. Should I undo the previous doings? - Grumblebaker 23 Oct '04 14:24 CDT

Yes, I think that this should be undone for that very reason. — InterruptorJones[[]]

-There is one SBemail without SB. If that is more confusing than having 100+ items in the Category:Strong Bad Email AND those same 100+ items duplicated in the Category: Strong Bad Filmography than so be it. I disagree with this, but the community has spoken. I will work towards adding the SB Filmography category to all appropriate emails.-Drhaggis 09:45, 26 Oct 2004 (MST)

I just fixed cast lists in all the main pages. Should these be put in filmography categories? I can't find any other places where the cast lists / filmographies are not finished. Aurora Szalinski 15:08, 2 Mar 2005 (MST)

Went ahead and did this. Do we need filmographies for all minor characters? I noticed a few for characters which only appear in one or two places (Blue Laser Babies, Yello Dello) but I am not sure if this is standard.
Good question, and thanks for asking. We generally do not use cat filographies for minor characters. For example, articles like General Tso's Chicken or The Grape Fairie just have a listing in the article of appearances. -- Tom 09:20, 3 Mar 2005 (MST)
Cool, thanks. Aurora Szalinski 09:23, 3 Mar 2005 (MST)

Thumbnailing Pictures

Should this be a Wiki Project? It seems like everyone is doing it anyway. fahooglewitz1077

It is listed under the "Standardizing Pages" header. — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 09:05, 26 Oct 2004 (MST)

I can't seem to be able to do it! No Toppings

Organizing Projects

We need someone (I might do it later today) to go through our projects and figure out which ones are done and precisely where work still requires completion. It would be great to have little charts under each project so people know right where to go.

As an example, for a project involving Strong Bad Emails:

 • Complete: 1-95, 103, 116
 • Incomplete: 96-102, 104-115

This gets a little harder for most of our projects because they aren't limited to any one category of pages on our wiki. We should come up with a unified, standardized way of notating which pages on the wiki have been done. Ideas? — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 09:24, 26 Oct 2004 (MST)

Places

At the bottom of each "Place" page, there should be a section to show which toons the place appears in. The toons are mostly mentioned in the paragraph, anyway, but not always.

How does one flag?

Hello! I'm relatively new to the Wiki, so even though I've found a page with an external image that can't be thumbnailed (Teen Girl Squad Issue 4}, what's the proper way for me to flag it as such? --FortyTwo 19:37, 28 Dec 2004 (MST)

Heh heh, well you certainly flagged it just now, didn't you? Though, I think Drhaggis might have meant something else. -- Tom 19:42, 28 Dec 2004 (MST)
And fixed. -- Tom 19:45, 28 Dec 2004 (MST)
Awexome! --FortyTwo 19:47, 28 Dec 2004 (MST)

Remind Tom

Since that has already happenned, can we get rid of the remind tom thing? →evin290 05:08, 1 Feb 2005 (MST)

Well, no one ever reminded me. Also, it didn't really matter, since someone recreated the Kobe page before I could undelete it after waiting for a while. I've fixed the note though. -- Tom 23:11, 1 Feb 2005 (MST)

 ? replacing non-regular characters

I've noticed since the change to the new server that many/all of the special characters in articles have been lost. They appear to me as a question mark (?) instead of the correct character. Is this true for everyone? If so, we should make a project for fixing them. -- Tom 08:25, 7 Mar 2005 (MST)

Can you give a sample example page so I can check? Thanks. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 17:37, 7 Mar 2005 (MST)
Happens to me. →FireBird

Date

Does anyone else think that 'Date' should be changed to 'Release Date'? I think 'Date' leaves something to be desired, especially with 'Running Time' not simply called 'Time'. Anyone agree with me, and volunteer to start fixing them all? (If I can get a positive vote or two, I'll start doing it tomorrow probably). ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 20:40, 7 Mar 2005 (MST)

Sounds good. -- Tom 08:27, 8 Mar 2005 (MST)

Interwiki

Are there any other shortcuts? Because the links to Wikipedia are shown as interwiki links. Will there be any more (like to the forum, fanstuff, Videlectrix, etc)? EDSMILDE

Right now you can link to fanstuff using the HRFWiki: shortcut. I'm not sure of any others. Kilroy/talk[[]] 18:11, 24 Mar 2005 (MST)

Split this page up? My proposal: The Stick

How about we keep this page for more technical wiki projects, and have, say, HRWiki:The Stick for wiki discussion that doesn't really fit the notion of a "project". Like the questions and comments that often get dumped on, say, Talk:Main Page. I mean, how much discussion on Talk:Main Page has anything to do with the main page, anyway? :) - furrykef (Talk at me) 12:04, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Already in the works at Talk:Main Page#Refactoring the Main Page. "The Stick" was even the name that we came up with. -- Tom 20:43, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Wow. Great minds think alike? - furrykef (Talk at me)

Merger

I'm trying to merge the food thing. I might need some help. Also, some of you might find "Army Style Mayo" on the Awwww Gratin potatoes page. This is temporary as I guarrantee to fix it. Amy Whifflepoof

A Project within a project

I found it difficult/annoying to use this page as a good resource to see what needs to be done. It seemed that most things in here were already done. For that reason, I reorded it so that those searching for a project can find one easier. I R F 14:06, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Past tense in plot descriptions

Many entries use past tense when retelling a fact, for example:

In for kids, Homsar's letter of the day was "G". (G)

That's wrong (for example, see [the literary present]). Do you think it's worth a project to correct these mistakes by either hammering was and were in the search bar or editing them when stumbled upon?

Second, if we start this project, should we consider comparing past tense on the h*r-timeline as wrong?

At 1:30, Homsar shuffled from left to right, but later, he's on the left side again (in-toon)
or
In The Luau, Homestar's star is slightly off, although it was centered in past toons. (comparing toons)

Strictly speaking, that's wrong.

What do you think? --PoweredByHomsar 01:46, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
