I tried translating all the songs and feedback from "Audition With Marzipan" into Dutch and back to English again. Enjoy!

Umm... Try perhaps again we improve.
Umm... And what "I think again your ervaring?"
was you largest drummer is who I ever."
Umm have heard... I will call u."volgende weak"
Bravo!"
"you are ontzagwekkend."
"I have also a dancing which I made omhoog with that to go."
Umm... I my manager has you a question give.
Umm... Uh, which not very goed."was

Yes, you're right, Dutch Marzipan. That "which not ver goed was!" The moral: Free Translators are complete crap.

I've said it once and I'll say it again: Duth is a funny-lookin' language. For more translational hilarity, examine this website, exploiting the services of free translators for the purposes of silliness. —AbdiViklas 21:46, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
Hah! That site is great! "The Homestar Runner Wiki is a great place!" becomes "The corridor Wiki de Homestar is a great station of the work!". - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)
I can help you get a leg up on the pile = I can help to get you a bone on on the hope! Don't you just love foreign language? Has Matt? 00:15, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
I'm reminded of a time when they were experimenting with early translation engines, and at one point they translated the phrase "Out of sight, out of mind" to I think German and back, and it came out as "Invisible idiot". :) — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 00:22, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
*ahem* Quality Is the First Occupation. Quote from that page: "You'd think that the testers would favor more straightforward test data such as "We will bomb Washington D.C. at 6:00 PM on Thursday" over pithy English sayings that one rarely encounters in Russian scientific articles, but that doesn't make for amusing anecdotes." — It's dot com
Yeah! Duth is a funny language indeed Abdi! Now, again I ask, why does the Sandbox not have a discussion page filled with stuff? I mean it's not like we need it or anything, but still... it's the principle of the matter! --Stux 01:07, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
What, you want a Sandbox Archive pages? "The Sandbox's Greatest Hits"? --DorianGray
Actually, I wasn't even thinking of that when I wrote it, I just wanted a Sandbox talk page! ;) But now that you mention it, I did talk about something like that before once in someone's talk page (I tried to remember where but I can't, does anybody remember?) Someone made some weird edit (I think I called the section "trolls write the darndest things"), which was reverted, but we went on to talk about how we could keep an archive of stuff like this much like the Big wiki does. You know, this is what I get for making silly comments and then getting serious discussions out of them! I should stop shouldn't I? --Stux 01:24, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Is that more or less preferable to having a serious discussion and it just dissolves into silly comments? --DorianGray
Lol! I don't know. That question is far deeper and more philosophical than what I'd like to take on right now :) --Stux 01:33, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Having "The Sandbox's Greatest Hits" is a good idea, strangely similar to Wikipedia's "Best of Bad Jokes and Other Deleted Nonsense". - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)
That was my talk page! And yeah, I think the "Best of The Sandbox" is a great idea! It could make a nice coffee table book; or maybe it's like one of those CDs you get from NPR with a $100 donation (dang NPR). I think I might just start culling those moments of fleeting hilarity myself wherever I find them and putting them in a user subpage. This thread would certainly be one. —AbdiViklas 02:51, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Oh, and about the Dutch thing: As far as I'm concerned, Dutch looks like German spelled by a two-year-old. I can usually read it fairly well because of the similarities in vocabulary and grammar, but the spelling is quite different. Heimstern Läufer 03:13, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
