HRWiki:Featured article for 2009, week 6 (Feb 2-8)

I think the next should be Tis True, Pom Pom, Tis True.

NinjaPmPom 21:36, 10 December 2008

Yes! I agree. Marzie500

I guess we could do it. We don't usually feature non-website material very often. MHarrington 02:09, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, most people don't know alot about it because they don't have the dvd, I wish, but I don't have ANY!--Ninja pom pom 02:43, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Maybe these articles would raise awareness of the DVDs. I have two of them. And one DVD-only thing (Real-Live E-mails) has already been featured. MHarrington 06:11, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Right! Ninja pom pom 22:19, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
I don't think this really would make a good FA, since it's an incomplete toon. I am, however, in full support of any other DVD-related stuff... I would think Why Come Only One Girl? would be a bit more easy to do, if it's not done already. That Game Dude 386 01:22, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
It has not been done before and I guess it can be done. At least it's more "complete". MHarrington 01:48, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
First off, in reply to the first two posts in this thread: Someone makes a comment, and then his grandma shows up immediately to support him? Boy, that doesn't look suspicious. Second, in reply to That game dude, unfortunately, Why Come Only One Girl is currently fully protected from editing due to circumstances beyond our control; and I don't feel it should be featured until such a time, if any, that this issue is resolved. As for 'Tis True, Pom Pom: The fact that it's unfinished could be viewed as an asset, not a liability, since I personally think it would be interesting to see a featured article about a work they never finished (and never will, presumably). I wouldn't oppose featuring Schubert's 8th Symphony, so I won't oppose here. Heimstern Läufer 02:01, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
So are you saying that you are in favor of "Tis True"? MHarrington 18:16, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
I sat a valtines toon, like Date Night. Raiku 22:25, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Valentine's Day is next week. MHarrington 00:04, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
I think "'Tis True" is a reasonable choice. I wish we could feature Why Come Only Girl, but I think putting it on the main page would only raise awareness of the problem, which we don't want. Heimstern Läufer 01:56, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Geez, 2 years now, and it still hasn't been fixed? What kind of a problem is that? Anydangway, I think 'Tis True, Pom Pom will work, upon further inspection. That Game Dude 386 02:15, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Also, Heimstern, this edit shows that Ninja Pom Pom and his "grandma" both edited the same time. JCM 22:09, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Both added by NPP. Elementio 10:47, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I'm quite aware. Both added separately to a talk page, though. At any rate, since this is a discussion rather than a vote, it's irrelevant. Just let it stand. Heimstern Läufer 10:52, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2009, week 7 (Feb 9-15)

As this is the week of Valentine's Day, I was thinking we could do either Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 6.0 or maybe the big toon Date Nite. MHarrington 18:56, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

We haven't done a full toon (no pun intended) in a while! Let's do Date Nite! That Game Dude 386 02:48, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Hello, my name is waiter, I will be your Heimstern this evening! Would you like a cup of Date Nite? Or perhaps never not featuring it again with capers? Heimstern Läufer 01:38, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
It's-a me! The Chef! Which one of you ordered the It's-a-Neva-Been-Featured-Before...a?! That Game Dude 386 20:17, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh. Double negatives? Uuhh... s-snails? Yeah, I didn't really this that one ou-That Game Dude 386 04:27, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2009, week 8 (Feb 16-22)

This week, we should the oft-neglected word gag Dennis, since we've already done Ye Flask. Ye hasn't seen Dennis in a fortnight, afterall! That Game Dude 386 19:11, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

That would be interesting, wouldn't it? MHarrington 07:14, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes. We could also do the other Thy Dungeonman name gag Dan, too. But I kinda like Dennis better. That Game Dude 386 15:08, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Dan doesn't really have the needed prose introduction at this point. Dennis is possible, though it's a bit frustrating how little text there is beyond the prose intro. Heimstern Läufer 01:30, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, let's not do Dan. Support Dennis. That Game Dude 386 02:18, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2009, week 9 (Feb 23-Mar 1)

For this week, we should feature someone who is long overdue for a featured article: Marshie. MHarrington 22:33, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Marshie has already been featured. Homestar-Winner (talk) 03:28, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
This is the week where winter turns to spring... and I suggest we celebrate that by featuring The Luau, a very spring-ish toon that I've always held high respect for. —Guard Duck talk 05:25, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Oh, right. I forgot. Never mind. Anyway, how about doing instead Strong Bad smiling? That one has a sufficient amount of text. MHarrington 18:23, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
The Luau is long long overdue to being featured. In many ways, it marked the beginning of the modern H*R era, so it's very significant. wbwolf (t | ed) 03:11, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
What if we did that one before this spring is up? We would've just already done a big toon for Valentine's Day, if we go that route. How about doing something like, say, Strong Badman, instead? He, too, is long overdue. MHarrington 06:37, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, good point. I realized that after I posted my support. The Luau does need to be done soon (maybe later in March, week 12 or so?), so we could do Badman, since it's been a while since we've done a variation. wbwolf (t | ed) 06:57, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
I think Strong Badman would be a good idea, and then do the Luau sometime in March. Heimstern Läufer 10:39, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
I actually think it'd be a good idea to do Strong Bad Smiling, as that is a bit more prominant in the H*R universe. That Game Dude 386 00:30, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I think we should finish the cleanup thing before featuring Strong Bad Smiling. When did it stop being out of character for Strong Bad? BBG 20:50, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I can't see the part that needs cleanup. Some folks say there needs to be less screenshots, but I folks say that really isn't in need of cleanup. If it gets to be an FA, there will be less debate, so if we go with this, it won't need cleanup any more. That Game Dude 386 00:43, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
There's some amount of controversy as to whether the article should even exist, you see, since Strong Bad smiling has become much more common than in the past. I still think Strong Badman is a better way to go. Heimstern Läufer 03:46, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Strong Badman would be nice. BBG 06:02, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
But Strong Badman has only 2 non-easter egg website appearences. I don't think that Strong Bad Smiling is too prominent- if it's less than 50% of the time, it's not frequent. A few instances in a row isn't enough to delete it, and if it gets to be an FA, then that would be the end to the controversy. That Game Dude 386 15:22, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
But if there's so much controversy, it might not deserve to be a Featured Article. It would be like if "Awesome" was still around, and people still failed to find the notability, so I featured that just to shut everyone up. It just doesn't seem logical or fair (I can't find the right word now) to me. BBG 15:50, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
I still feel that Smiling is more significant, but we're running out of room here. Let's go with Strong Badman. That Game Dude 386 16:41, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2009, week 10 (Mar 2-8)

This week, let's do either Arrow'd Guy or The Ugly One. Take your pick. That Game Dude 386 16:38, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

We could do Arrow'd Guy and do The Ugly One later in the year, like around Week 20 or so. MHarrington 19:45, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Grood. That Game Dude 386 20:19, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Why Arrow'd Guy first when we haven't finished featuring all the girls (the actual central characters) first? Mind you, I do think we should feature both this year, but I'd support The Ugly One first. Heimstern Läufer 01:19, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
I think it's a little early yet to do a TGS character for the moment, so why don't we do a Cheat Commandos character instead? I'm thinking Fightgar. MHarrington 18:47, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm thinking it's not early, it's been months since we'd done anything TGS-related, so why not? That Game Dude 386 22:16, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
It'll have been over three months since we did anything TGS-related, so it's not too early. Then again, it will have been longer since we did CC, so I think we could go either way. Maybe some others (i.e., not me, MHarrington or That game dude) could weigh in to help us form a consensus? Heimstern Läufer 01:38, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm liking The Ugly One for this week. She has style. —Guard Duck talk 06:34, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
The Duck has Spoke Anne! We do Teh Ugly One! That Game Dude 386 21:58, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Sounds cool to me. Arrow'd Guy would be most appropriate for our next TGS character we feature, though. We may also want to consider featuring a TGS episode between now and then. Heimstern Läufer 11:36, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2009, week 11 (Mar 9-15)

I think for this week, we should do something like the Storybook World from whence the whole thing got started. MHarrington 20:20, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

How 'bout... THE 2009 WEEK OF ALL OF THE ROOMS IN THE HOUSE OF STRONG EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!!!!! Or at least the first 7. He can't say job. Don't say jorb 101 Seriously, he can't say job!
How do we do that? Let's do Storybook World or email thunder. Raiku 06:17, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, we should definitely do email thunder sometime this year, but not yet. MHarrington 18:45, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
A response to Raiku: they only do this a few times per year, but sometimes, instead of a weekly featured article, they have a daily featured article, where every day there's a new one. They usually are related, hence the "THE 2009 WEEK OF ALL OF THE ROOMS IN THE HOUSE OF STRONG EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!!!!!" He can't say job. Don't say jorb 101 Seriously, he can't say job!
That's not what- nevermind. I'd rather do Storybook. That Game Dude 386 22:38, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
And on top of that, Raiku, we've done the Computer Room already, if I remember correctly. MHarrington 06:14, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Eh well, Storybook's a bit short, but it's significant, so why not. Heimstern Läufer 06:21, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Seems a bit TOO short for an FA in my opinion. — Defender1031*Talk 06:23, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
What if instead of the rather short Storybook World, we do The Homestar Runner Enters the Strongest Man in the World Contest? —Guard Duck talk 06:32, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm afraid that one's already been featured. Heimstern Läufer 06:43, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
oops, you're right... I looked for it under the wrong name. In that case I'll go with Storybook World. —Guard Duck talk 07:22, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2009, week 12 (Mar 16-22)

This week, let's deau a game. I'm thinkin' of doing Population: Tire. Any other ideas? That Game Dude 386 00:18, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, I guess, except how much description here could be used? MHarrington 01:11, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Pop tire doesn't really have a very good description for it. I think that Eh! Steve! deserves recognition this week. —Guard Duck talk 05:07, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh, yes! We've never done a Sweet Cuppin' Cakes character before! The only thing about SSC that we've done for an article was the area itself. And that was only last year! So yeah, it's time that this often-overlooked area of Homestar got more due. MHarrington 06:29, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
OK, let's do Eh, Steve! That Game Dude 386 22:32, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
The prose introduction for Eh, Steve! as it stands is really too short for an FA. Anyone think we could expand that? I agree it's a very worthy topic, but it's not really ready for featuring right now. We still have nearly two months until this week; can someone remedy that? Heimstern Läufer 08:59, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, then, why not a Cheat Commandos character? It's been a while since we've done one. I'm thinking maybe either Fightgar or Silent Rip. MHarrington 00:05, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Fightgar works well. I'm all for it. DrPepper42 02:07, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2009, week 13 (Mar 23-29)

I think for this week, we should do The King of Town DVD, one of the earliest big toons on the entire site! MHarrington 17:48, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Yes... an early big toon... *ahem* -still, it is important, in it's own way. No objections. That Game Dude 386 20:58, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
KOT's DVD sounds pretty good. —Guard Duck talk 00:25, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Strong Bad's commentary on that one is still a classic bit of Strong Bad comedy. We could mention that in the writeup, probably. Heimstern Läufer 10:52, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2009, week 14 (Mar 30-Apr 5)

I think for this week, we should have Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 14.2, in which one of the messages, from Strong Sad, is on April Fools' Day pranks. MHarrington 18:59, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, since this is April Fool's week, and, um, we should... crap. What was that one article? I was gonna mention that one article on something... about... something... Aw, nevermind. If I think of it, I won't call you back. That Game Dude 386 21:04, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
That is still one of the most bizarre messages Marzy's ever gotten. I'm all about Main Paging it. Heimstern Läufer 10:51, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2009, week 15 (Apr 6-13)

I think it's finally time to feature email thunder. With full-length hremails about, I think we should feature their origin. That Game Dude 386 16:45, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, while I do agree that email thunder needs to be featured soon, I think that, this week, with it supposedly being Spring Break for many people, we should do The Luau, something that a lot of people have been clamoring for. Maybe we can do email thunder next week. MHarrington 01:13, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes, this week seems quite a bit better for The Luau than the one I proposed. I'm all for it. —Guard Duck talk 06:31, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
