HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 7 (Feb 11-17)

Who Said What. 60.230.37.94 06:49, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

We really shouldn't be featuring that. Homestar-Winner (talk) 21:31, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
At some point, we ought to feature something from the Lappynapping saga. Ideally, I'd love to feature the entire saga for a week, but we don't exactly have a summary article for the whole thing, and I'm not sure we should. One possibility could be just featuring cliffhangers one week and retirement the next (pros, it allows us to cover the saga; cons, it takes up two weeks). Heimstern Läufer 21:42, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
I like the idea, but I also agree with the problems. The closest we have to a summary article is on the Lappy's page. --DorianGray 21:51, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
How bout a Valentines/Valentimes day toon. TGS 12. Justin Master of Nature 21:19, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Since Valentimes is so rarely done in H*R, featuring Teen Girl Squad 12 would be a good thing for this week. Hopefully, TBC will add more "holiday specials" in the future. wbwolf (t | ed) 23:36, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Totally! Great Idea, I think TGS is important to Vanentines day with Cheerleader's boy obsession. Dynamite =)
Sure, we can wait on the Lappynapping saga. Heimstern Läufer 19:08, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Which is a good idea anyway, until we figure out how to feature something that doesn't have a direct page (yet?). Also support TGS12. --DorianGray 05:06, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
How about Date Nite? That'd make sense for Valentine's, don't you think? MHarrington 08:02, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
It would, but I reckon TGS 12 will work well, too, and since there's already broad support for it, I think we'll do that. Heimstern Läufer 00:39, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
One word. TGS 12. Ok, 2. Sbemailnum314159

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 8 (Feb 18-24)

How bout Where's An Egg?. Aaron Master of Life 20:35, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

I dunno, I was thinking retirement. Religious Corn   20:13, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Umm...No. Well, maybe ...{drum roll} Listerine. I'm a man on the prowl and I stick up for myself! The city is at night and I'm dancin' dancin'! Homsar solo!Master of Nature 21:19, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
retirement might be good, but Listerine is way to short and let's not forget that it is a HRW:OA. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 22:31, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
I think that nightlife may be good. It features a lot of important remarks and such in it. Besides, Listerine is too short, anyways. Dynamite 0.o
Nightlife is probably too new for an FA. Heimstern Läufer 19:08, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
By the time this article is featured, it wont be. DYNAMITE :{
Double Deuce?!?!?!!?!!?!?!!?!?!?!Justin Master of Nature 16:00, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, My choices are as follows and I quote:
"Where's an Egg,
Double Deuce,
The Simpsons"
I'm a man on the prowl and I stick up for myself! The city is at night and I'm dancin' dancin'! Homsar solo!Master of Nature 16:06, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm all for Where's an Egg, personally. Great game, thorough article. Heimstern Läufer 19:04, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, finally a sysop accepting my choices! I suggested it in the first place!:DJustin Master of Nature 21:28, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Really, Justin? It looks to me like Aaron Master of Life suggested it first, not you. How is it that you were the one to suggest it in the first place? Heimstern Läufer 20:09, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
How about Strong Bad Smiling? MHarrington 08:04, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

:| no. Where's an Egg? --Justin Master of Nature 21:43, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

I like Where's An Egg? too. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:22, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Heimstern, I put it on the nominations page before Aaron put it here. (My real name is Aaron, AMOL's real name is Spencer) [[Usser talk:Justin Master of Nature|Justin [[User:Justin Master of Nature|Master of Nature]]]] 19:32, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

It all seems rather petty, doesn't it? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 07:30, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 9 (Feb 25-Mar 2)

Who Said What. That game is very popular now, and should be featured, especially since it is so far the only old game not featured.

In case this is not clear to anyone: We will not be featuring Who Said What Now? until such a time that we can unprotect this article. In the meantime, please don't suggest featuring it, since such suggestions cannot be honored. Heimstern Läufer 01:52, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm still thinking of doing a running gag. What was the Answering machine where Homestar and Strong Bad try to get their "girlfriends" a Valentines gift? I like that one.
I'm not sure, but I think this week we should feature Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 1.0 since we've never featured a MAM before. Homestar-Winner (talk) 12:23, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
I like that idea as well. MAM 1. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:24, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Sounds fine to me. We should consider featuring other MAMs soon, too. Heimstern Läufer 06:45, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Wow! What a Coincidence! New MAM! sbemailnum314159 15:57, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, isn't that great when stuff like that happens? Homestar-Winner (talk) 21:28, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Yup. Though it does make the images on the main page look kind of redundant... Heimstern Läufer 01:56, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 10 (Mar 3-9)

Haven't featured a character in a while. How about Frank Bennedetto? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:25, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Ooh, featuring a pseudocharacter. Sounds like a good idea to me. Heimstern Läufer 17:21, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I like Frank Bennedetto. Or maybe The Battle of Strong Badia. Sbemailnum314159 01:54, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
I would rather not. A pseudocharacter we should save for later. Although I do like The Battle of Strong Badia. Let's feature that. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 19:49, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Why would you rather not? If an article already enjoys solid support, you really shouldn't come in at the last minute and oppose it without a solid reason. Heimstern Läufer 19:54, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Pseudocharacters shouldn't really be featured over things like The Battle of Strong Badia, since this was important part of an email, and Frank Bennedetto isn't really an important part of an email. Right? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 20:05, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
No, I don't agree. Frank has reappeared in multiple toons, whereas the Battle of Strong Badia is really just a summary of most of the events in the email army. That makes Frank of greater importance than the Battle, in my opinion. Heimstern Läufer 20:12, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
I think Bennedetto is a pretty cool guy. eh gets featured and doesn't afraid of anything. —BazookaJoe 20:47, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Your right. We'll save The Battle of Strong Badia for next January or some other time. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 21:12, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 11 (Mar 10-16)

Per the discussion page, how about Lappynapped!? wbwolf (t | ed) 03:45, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

All right, sounds like a fine idea. Note that this won't prevent us from also featuring retirement and/or cliffhangers someday should we choose to. Heimstern Läufer 17:20, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Let me put in a different idea Bad Graphics Ghost why have we not done this one. The-homsarrunner Mar 2 2008

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 12 (Mar 17-23)

Astro-Lite 2600. 124.181.65.132 09:12, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

For an entire week? I don't think it's nearly significant enough for that. Heimstern Läufer 17:16, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
How about Where's The Cheat? It was the longest running toon for 5 years. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 17:19, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Wait, this is Easter week (Easter is on the 23). So why not Eggs (toon)? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 23:53, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't really think Eggs (toon) has sufficient content for an FA. Heimstern Läufer 06:23, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
How about Tiny-Handed Strong Bad? MHarrington 02:12, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Tiny-Handed Strong Bad is awesome! Let's feature him! Homestar-Winner (talk) 01:50, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 13 (Mar 24-30)

After looking at the FA history for this year and the nominations, it looks like we haven't yet featured a Strong Bad email. I'd like to suggest comic, the origin of TGS? --Stux 17:35, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Like I said earlier ijn the year, how about a daily featured article week with Compy 386 emails. Just some classics: comic, japanese cartoon, dragon, crazy cartoon, personal favorites, monument, video games, your friends, invisibility, time capsule, monster truck. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 17:43, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
dragon's already been featured, so it wouldn't include that. Some of those other ones may be significant enough to have a full week also (japanese cartoon, possibly). Heimstern Läufer 17:45, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
I counted eleven emails in that list, unfortunately the week only has seven! :S. However some of these (like japanese cartoon) have already been featured. Same goes with dragon and... I guess that's it. However, we may have featured more than I know: HRWiki talk:Featured Article Selection#Milestone emails. is a talk section I'm still going by and I think a better week-long selection might be garnered from that list (perhaps not, perhaps a common theme like Compy 386 might be better? not sure.) Anywho, at least with japanese cartoon, HRWiki:Featured article nominations isn't up to date (I remember updating the Milestone emails list) since I'm guessing lately we haven't been using that list for the nominations. So I suspect there may be other emails we have featured that haven't been marked as "featured". --Stux 17:55, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
I take back what I said. I can't find japanese cartoon in the FA history. Why the heck did I mark it!? --Stux 17:58, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
If that is the case, I would say japanese cartoon is long overdue as a featured article. wbwolf (t | ed) 05:20, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, we should just feature japanese cartoon this week. Homestar-Winner (talk) 19:59, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 14 (Mar 31-Apr 6)

Does April Fools' 2007 have enough information to be a featured article? Homestar-Winner (talk) 20:01, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

There was no April Fool's 2007. MHarrington 06:42, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Oops. I mean April Fools' 2006. Homestar-Winner (talk) 01:35, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
That article doesn't really have enough of a prose intro to be on the main page as it stands, and I'm not sure the topic really lends itself to a lengthier intro (someone may feel free to crush my doubts, though). Heimstern Läufer 06:59, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
How about one of the other April Fools' gags, such as Under Construction or HomestarRunner.com PAY PLUS!? wbwolf (t | ed) 16:20, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 15 (Apr 7-13)

Trog-Cave? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 00:28, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

That article is far too short for featured status. May I suggest Biscuit Dough Hands Man instead? wbwolf (t | ed) 00:47, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 16 (Apr 14-20)

How 'bout History according to Strong Bad? MHarrington 19:21, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Already been featured, albeit under a different title. Heimstern Läufer 19:33, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
DNA Evidence (running gag) week. We feature strong badathlon, unnatural, the movies, your funeral, from work, rough copy, then we top it off with DNA Evidence (toon). If that doesn't work out, we just feature DNA Evidence (running gag). It's a DNA Evidence all you can eat salad bar! User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 21:12, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 17 (Apr 21-27)

Perhaps another pseudocharacter. How about Drive-Thru Whale or Wagon Fulla Pancakes? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 19:49, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

I think it might be too soon for a pseudocharacter. We have Frank Benedetto and possibly Biscuit Dough Hands Man in about a month's span. How about another category of article, such as TV Shows. wbwolf (t | ed) 01:02, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
To do that one, we'd need to expand its prose intro by at least a few sentences. Anyone want to do that? Heimstern Läufer 06:55, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
