HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50
JoeyDay suggested it earlier, and I think it's a good choice. Howsabout Sweet Cuppin' Cakes? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 06:17, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
- Not enough data. Maybe after one more toon in that theme. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 07:05, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
- Well, then what about Leomard Sportsinterviews? — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 06:18, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
- How about Limozeen? Rogue Leader / (my talk) 14:33, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
- I'm willing to go with Limozeen. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 21:04, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 51
This year, this week would end with Decemberween, on Sunday the 25th. So why not feature Decemberween? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 06:17, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, let's go with time of the year ones if they're dead obvious, like Decemberween is. Definitely D'ween. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 05:18, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, On a side note, this year the begining of Hanukah and Christmas being on the same day. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 20:50, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
- Let's change the screenshot to something more... Holiday-ish, eh? The current picture may be part of a Decemberween play, but new people to Homestar Runner won't know that. —FireBird|Talk 22:44, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
- There, how's that. — It's dot com 23:04, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 52
The last feature of the year? I'm open to suggestions. (Well I'm open to suggestions on each week, just this time I'm not even posting my own for now). ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 06:17, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
- How about rock opera? Nice end with all the characters standing there in the picture. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 07:06, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
- That's not a bad idea, but by the same token it might be a nice '150th email' feature. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 19:10, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
- Eh, I really wouldn't like having an email on the last week. Something bigger. —FireBird|Talk 02:11, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
- Well, the only one that seems to be nice on the nomination page is Holiday Toons. That has a good picture. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 02:16, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

- I agree. Holiday Toons gets my vote. —FireBird|Talk 22:16, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
- Alright, I'm making a base for Holiday Toons. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 23:21, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 1
- Perhaps Homestar Runner (the character, not the flash cartoon) for the first week of 2006. Then every month or so, throw another main character in there, working our way down? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 20:22, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- Whoa, 12 months, 12 main characters. It's like it was meant to be.
Username-talk 20:23, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- Totally seconded. Now the only thing to work out is the order. --DorianGray
- Although, after further inspection, it seems as though the featured article for "Week 1" will only be on Sunday the first. A one day feature. Perhaps we should move H*R to the next week, and stick... Cold Ones here! Fitting for "New Years Day"? Either that, or we could just copy 2005, week 52, so it'll just carry on into Sunday. That was JoeyDay's suggestion. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 20:28, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- Well it's getting too close, so I went ahead and used Cold Ones. Any objections? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 01:08, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

- Whoa, 12 months, 12 main characters. It's like it was meant to be.
As it turns out, the week does not reset concurrently with the year, meaning that Sunday, January 1, appears as "2006, week 52" and week 1 will start on Monday, January 2. I have therefore moved the Homestar Runner article back to this week (although the coding for Cold Ones is still in the history, if we need it later). — It's dot com 00:45, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 2
What about moving H*R here, so he gets a full week feature? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 20:29, 12 December 2005 (UTC) H-star-R. All the way. The new edition on his relationship with Marzi is great. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 07:09, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- This week is now empty again and needs a suggestion. — It's dot com 00:45, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
- Then what about the Tandy 400? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 02:11, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
- I was think about an interview or public appearance. It will seem small compared to the jumbo FA the week previous, but I think we can make a good write-up for something like the Bobby Blackwolf Interview. —BazookaJoe 02:19, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think you can describe an interview very well. Well, I guess you could, but it doesn't really seem like "featured article" material. I'd be more inclined to go with the Tandy. -- Super Sam 03:53, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, well I'd like to get ahead on these, so I'm putting Tandy 400 up, and suggesting an interiew for Week 6. That'll give us lots of time to discuss the pros and cons. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 02:06, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

I wouldn't mind seeing Litigation Jackson somewhere. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 20:31, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- Jackson is good, but Leomard Sportsinterviews is better. (It could use a gallery though) — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 07:11, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

What about the Original Book? Or perhaps there'll be a better oppourtunity to feature it? This one isn't really themed at all. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 20:38, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- {excitedly} Ooh, ooh, ooh, I like that. Original Book. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ @ 07:29, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 6 (Feb 6-12)
Since it'll hopefully be finished by now, what about Stinkoman 20X6? Perhaps change the synopsis a bit, to reflect that this page has Walkthroughs, enemy lists, ect. Give it a nice "game guide" feel? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 20:42, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- If if's and but's... — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 07:13, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- Better yet, why not an interview here? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 02:07, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
- Bobby Blackwolf Interview - 5 Sep 2005 is on my list to complete. I will make a write-up suitable for FA. —BazookaJoe 21:57, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

For the first feature begining in Febuary, what about moving onto the next obvious character in line, Strong Bad? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 20:36, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- He have the longest biography, but could use another section. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 07:18, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 8 (Feb 20-26)
Perhaps also get the computers done throughout the year. Starting with Lappy 486, Tandy 400, maybe Compy 386, perhaps even Tangerine Dreams. I think any of those would be a nice choice sometime. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 20:43, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- Tandy 400. Good page, the real computer section is great. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 07:08, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- Since we decided to feature the Tandy earlier, we'll need something else. How about Strong Bad Email: english paper or perhaps Crap. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 05:31, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
- Do you really want the first email to be english paper? what about a longer page like virus or a page with sub-pages like rock opera? Crap is too new. wait for it to grow a bit, get a format. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 05:42, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
- Though we won't be going through every single Strong Bad Email anytime soon, I would like the first one to be some kinda robot, then go through the hilights (in no particular order) every know and then hence-forth. virus, dragon, obvious ones like that. For this week, why not...
Homeschool Winner? Though a small article, I think it could make a decent feature. That was one of the pages JoeyDay originally had set to feature. After following that link, it seems as though they're Old Characters. Definently featureable. Any objections? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 06:13, 11 January 2006 (UTC)- Uh! My page! Sweet. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 23:33, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
- As Thunderbird L17 won't (or shouldn't) be on for a while, I'll be bold and go ahead and create this one and the one after it. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 18:00, 25 January 2006 (UTC) EDIT: As this one will take some writing, I'll do it in an hour or so, after I get back from class. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 18:00, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- Page has been moved to Rejected Characters with Old Characters as a redirect. Should we still do this one, or pick something else? And if (and I have a feeling we will) do feature this one anyway, should we undo the page move, or just feature it as Rejected Characters? — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 19:09, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

The Museum could also be a nice feature sometime. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 20:40, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
I'd like to see Trogdor somewhere, ever since it was de-stubbed. Has Trogdor already been featured? — Has Matt? (talk) 01:37, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- No he hasn't, and I agree, he'd be an excellent feature. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 02:33, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- Before it's featured, some more information could be added from the new DVD PQ outcasts. I don't have the DVD, so I can't add it myself. The Opening should should could use some more info. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 10:31, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- I suggest that we do They Might Be Giants this week. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 04:28, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps the Store or something? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 20:45, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- The old one or the new one? I think it would be cooler to feature a page that isn't there anymore, but was there recent enough for people to reminisce about it. — Lapper (talk) 16:46, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
- Some other ideas I'm just throwing out here: The Show, Homestar's Pants, Homestarmy, The Virus, TV Shows, Strong Bad's Basement, Hanging Objects, The Office, The Athletic Field, Dullard (comic), Dangeresque (film series), The Field, Senor Cardgage, Whatsit, Castlefunnies, Lack of Visible Arms. — Has Matt? (talk) 02:48, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
- Those are all great ideas. If they aren't already on the nominations page, feel free to add them. That's where I usually browse to get ideas for features. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 02:25, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
- Store has been bugging me for a while. I don't want to use it until we do something with it (as in, it's not a pile of clutter). I think Flash Store would be cool to use, though. —FireBird|Talk 02:25, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
- Store is a nice idea, but I would like to see TROGDOR! sometime down the road. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 21:51, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm... I would rather feature the current store than the old store, but I also would like to wait until it's cleaned up a bit more. I've gotta swing a vote for either Trogdor or TROGDOR!. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 01:25, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- Looks like Flash Store won. I'll go ahead and create it. --Sam Goldfish 02:28, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2006, week 11 (Mar 13-19)
- Okay, next character would probably fit in well here. But the question is, which character's next in line? I'm thinking either Marzipan or The Cheat, leaning towards Marzie. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 04:43, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- Let's let many of these sit red for a while. I don't want to work too far ahead. Let's put FAS to rest for a coupla weeks. —BazookaJoe 12:19, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's why I didn't start by suggesting something for each week. I think keeping the links red until about a month or so before is good, getting too far ahead is no good. But I don't see any problem if users want to throw out ideas or anything before then, just as long as all the links stay red until mid-Febuary. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 00:25, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
- It's about mid-February right now, so I think we better start deciding again. Something I really want to see get featured soon is The Geddup Noise. I added 2 paragraphs to it, and it really deserves to be featured. — Has Matt? (talk) 15:42, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- I was on the school librery today browsing this page and several other and said to my self "The Geddy page is long, nice... It should be feaured!" Alot of work was put into that page (as seen from the long tables on the talk page) and it's also little known. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 17:41, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

- Pushing back Trogdor and TROGDOR!? I can't find any new information to be added on those pages (Mainly because I did most of the work on Trogdor... Teehee) — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 17:47, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, Trogdor (either the game or the character, I don't really care) was my second choice for featured article. If anyone has the DVD and sees anything that can be added to Trogdor, speak now or forever hold your peace. Whatever that means. — Has Matt? (talk) 18:10, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'd like to see Trogdor featured soon, but I'd also like to see one of the main characters featured sometime in the month of March. Perhaps move the Trogodor feature to week 13 or 14? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 00:26, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- Waitaminute! Didn't we all agree to to have a main cherecter every this-an'-that amount oe weeks? — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 05:06, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yup, 12 characters for 12 (Gregorian) months was my plan. Which means March is still in need of the character next in line, probably The Cheat or Marzipan. Any opinion between the two? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 05:11, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

- Well the problem with that idea is that we've already skipped over Pom Pom then. According to the cast list here, he should have been second. In any case, I wouldn't mind seeing The Cheat come next. I would suggest us going by how the Characters page is ordered. Since it's ordered in general order of "when they were made/how integral to the plot they are", If we deviate from it, then we may as well change that order to match the order we put them in here. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 05:31, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- So, no matter what, Homsar will be the last one, right? --DorianGray
- I would think the last three would obviously be The King of Town, The Poopsmith, and Homsar, yes. The middle 7 characters are the iffy ones. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 05:39, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- I consider Homestar, Strong Bad, Pom Pom, and The Cheat to have debuted simultaneously, since it was the same work [of literature] for all of them. so we haven't skipped anybody. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 07:14, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
- Alright, I'm gonna go with Pom Pom, then The Cheat next, unless anybody disagrees. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 05:53, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

- Another character would probably fit somewhere around here. Should we go by who was created first, or who's used more? 'Cause I'm thinking either Bubs or Strong Mad next, leaning towards Graw Mad. (Or maybe Strong Sad) ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 04:47, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

General Discussion
Daily Featured Blocks (On Occasion)
I've been thinking (Dangerous, I know), and was wondering if Article of the week could easily be changed to article of the day on occasion, to run through a large block of featured articles, mainly in the case of some time in the future going through all SBEmails day by day for about 150 days or so, or something along those lines. Obviously 150 weeks would be far more tedious and annoying. It could also be used for things like each cheat commando character, all the TGS's, things like that. I'm not saying right away or anything either, if it ever happened it would probably be in the far future, once FA is a bit more settled in. I'm just wondering if it's feasable, and if anybody else likes the idea. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 01:54, 1 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I think that's a good idea if we did that occasionally. — It's dot com 19:35, 2 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Great, good to hear somebody else likes my idea. Just a few more allies, and we might even be able to get some kinda plan set up! Anybody else into our idea? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 23:00, 2 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I'm all for it. Sounds like there's a lot of promise in this idea as far as featuring the things that may not be large enough for a week long run but are still good pages. As soon as we get the stuff currently in the pipeline out we should go for it!

- Good, I'm glad to see it's all sounding pretty positive. But before we consider moving ahead with this at all, I'd like to hear either JoeyDay's or Tom's opinion on it, since they're the ones that came up with the whole system in the first place. But provided it's feasable and endorsed by the head honchos, I think we just might be able to see this happen shortly... ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 08:17, 3 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- The only reason we did weekly features is because I didn't want to select an article for every day of the year. If you guys are up for maintaining it I think it would be great to do an article of the day. I like the idea of switching back and forth between weekly and daily articles. It's a nice compromise between the laid-back weeklies and the hard to maintain dailies. Good idea, Thunderbird. —

- Great! So how exactly do we change the formatting? Is it pretty much just make a page like this:

HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 1
Or something along those lines? If somebody could provide some basis of how the scheduling works, then we can get to work on scheduling some weekly blocks, such as all the Characters, Teen Girl Squads, or Strong Bad Emails later this year. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 17:33, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I think the best way to do it would to link to HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, CURRENTDAY CURRENTMONTH, then create all the articles a few weeks in advance. This way the main page doesn't need editing until the daily featured article cycle has finished. --

- Thunderbird's example link would work fine. Also, the page HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50 would need to redirect to the day 1 page, at least until a sysop changes the main page link to the following:
. Likewise, switching back to a weeklong featured article will need a similar temporary redirect. — It's dot com 17:50, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Okay. So we just...
2) Change the main page link to:

1) Create pages like:
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 1
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 2
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 3
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 4
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 5
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 6
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 7
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 51, day 1
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 51, day 2
Is that format right? And why 'CURRENTDOW' instead of 'CURRENTDAY'? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 17:56, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- CURRENTDOW is the current day of the week. CURRENTDAY is the current day of the month. --

- Gotcha. Then it'd be simplist to just add a day of the week sub section then. Okay, great! Now we just need some suggestions of what blocks to feature, and when. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 18:07, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Just to reiterate, you would also create a redirect like so:
- HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50 → HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 1
- so that when the week rolls over, there is something for it to roll over to until a sysop can change the main page to the daily link. You would also need a similar style redirect to move back from the daily features to the weekly features. — It's dot com 18:29, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Also, wouldn't the order of your steps up there be the other way around? — It's dot com
- Just to reiterate, you would also create a redirect like so:
Sorry, I created final order below. One question though, can you switch back mid-week? Can you have seperate articles for week 50, day 4, and for just week 50? Then for day five, just redirect to week 50, and voila, switch back? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 19:09, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Final Order Of Steps:
1) Create pages like:
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 1
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 2
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 3
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 4
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 5
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 6
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 7
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 51, day 1
HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 51, day 2
2) Create a redirect to begin with, such as HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50 redirecting to HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 50, day 1
once it's switched over...
3) Change the main page text 'This Week's Featured Article' to 'Today's Featured Article'.
4) Change the main page link to:

once it's ready to be finished...
5) Create a redirect to end with, such as HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 51, day 3 redirecting to HRWiki:Featured article for 2005, week 51
6) Change the main page link back to:

That's it, right? Six easy steps. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 19:09, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- That's right. We could switch back in the middle of a week if we wanted to. Whatever we switch to would either get just the remaining days in the week or the remaining days plus all the days of the next week, depending on how we want to set it up on a case-by-case basis. — It's dot com 19:16, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Excellent, thanks guys! Feel free to suggest blocks of daily features at the usual Featured Article Discussion Section (at the bottom). I really want to run through all the SBEmails in a row, perhaps I'll bring it up for January 1st. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 19:49, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
