HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 1 (Dec 31-Jan 6)

Note: Whatever MediaWiki decides to call December 31 (week 53?), it will be redirected here. —BazookaJoe 19:15, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Note again: It decided that it was Week 1, 2007. It displayed Cold Ones on the main page for a while until forced to display Week 1, 2008. —BazookaJoe 00:09, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

To start of the year, how about a Peasant's Quest thing. Like Rather Dashing, Peasantry, The Three Keepers of Trogdor or The Trog-Cave? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 19:23, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

How about one of the secondary characters? Both Nebulon and The Stick would be worthy for a featured article. wbwolf (t | ed) 19:47, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
I hate you, The Stick. I mean, yeah, let's do The Stick. Homestar-Winner (talk) 22:12, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
The Stick's prose intro is rather short for a weeklong FA, though. Does anyone think they could expand it? Heimstern Läufer 22:13, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Nebulon is a more thorough article, at any rate. I think it would make a better FA. Heimstern Läufer 16:54, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
We've done Nebulon and The Stick, already. Why not History According to Strong Bad? It seems like a good article to me.
No, we haven't featured those already. Heimstern Läufer 01:56, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
YOU should check again. anyways, WHY not try a sbemail, say, unnatural?
Already did check, thanks, and those articles haven't been featured. Heimstern Läufer 18:42, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Any last-minute opinions before I decide? Heimstern Läufer 07:13, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Ol' Nebby looks good. —BazookaJoe 23:48, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 2 (Jan 7-13)

A Short Perhaps? Good shorts: One Two, One Two, Drive-Thru, Looking at a Thing In A Bag? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 19:23, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

I'll throw in Strongest Man In The World as another good short for this week. Though Looking at a Thing In A Bag would be an excellent idea. wbwolf (t | ed) 19:48, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm going with the thing in a bag. Slipknot6477 13:45, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

How about dragon because January 13 was when dragon was first released. Though hardly a man is still alive that remembers that fateful day and year. Homestar-Winner (talk) 20:40, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
I'd go with Looking at a Thing In A Bag or dragon. --Trogga 03:21, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Let's give Troggie a happy 5th Trogday feature: dragon. Heimstern Läufer 03:45, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Shouldnt we do happy trogday since it is trogday, and to dragon next week? Slipknot6477 16:00, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
One Trogdor birthday feature should be enough for one year, and dragon, as the email that started it all, seems like the better choice. Heimstern Läufer 08:04, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
I Agree, but I like Drive-Thru. Maybe for next week 'cuz dragon IS a good pick Dynamite ;)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 3 (Jan 14-20)

I'm thinking we should do a good article nobody knows about. 'd, maybe? Slipknot6477 02:31, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

I think 'd is a well-known article actually... — Defender1031*Talk 02:32, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
We haven't done something real world in a while. TMBG Concert - 25 Sep 2004? --Trogga 02:04, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Wait, the late night jengajam interview! great interview! Slipknot6477 02:32, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Um, I suppose I could have it finished by then....wbwolf (t | ed) 03:07, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
I think the TBMG concert would probably be fine, and we could let Wbwolf take his time shanking our jengaship and feature it later. Heimstern Läufer 05:08, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm gonna say mascot. An important email with a good background reference.
I don't think we need to feature any more sbemails than we already are. Heimstern Läufer 01:59, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Will someone get to making this? I myself would not know what to say in it, but will someone else make it? Homestar-Winner (talk) 20:44, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Things are kind of busy for me right now, and I may not be on call every Sunday to make sure the FA gets changed. I may need some other people to step up a bit and help out with this. Sorry, but real life calls. Heimstern Läufer 21:01, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 4 (Jan 21-27)

How about a daily featured article week with Compy 386 emails. Just some classics: comic, japanese cartoon, dragon, crazy cartoon, personal favorites, monument, video games, your friends, invisibility, time capsule, monster truck. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 20:35, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

I think most Compy emails are big enough to be featured for a whole week. Plus, I don't really like having daily articles. Homestar-Winner (talk) 12:13, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
I think this is a good idea to do at some point (I don't think more than a few compy emails are worth a whole week), but I think it's still too soon after our most recent set of dailies. Heimstern Läufer 16:51, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
We featured Cheerleader last year and have never gotten around to featuring any other TGS characters. How about So and So? Heimstern Läufer 16:56, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
So and So would make a great FA. wbwolf (t | ed) 06:12, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Agreed. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 18:43, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
I think so, too. Dynamite ^o.o^
Have a look at HRWiki:Featured articles to see what we've featured and what we haven't. You'll notice these aren't there. Heimstern Läufer 00:39, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 5 (Jan 28-Feb 3)

Another grammar thing! I'd personally like to see Nondescript Nouns, but it's prose is too short. Perhaps we could expand it? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 18:43, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

I've always thought Nondescript Nouns's scope was a bit ambiguous, and I don't really think it's our finest work. Perhaps another running gag, such as Crapfully Yours? Heimstern Läufer 03:55, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
No, we have not done Crapfully Yours already. Heimstern Läufer 01:57, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Aside from the "SBEmail extravaganza" suggested above, I haven't seen some of the classic SBEmails suggested in the talk page being featured recently. Might I suggest army? --Stux 09:33, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
I tend to think we already feature emails often enough. Heimstern Läufer 06:49, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps but:
  1. A sizeable portion of the H*R content are emails, making them an important type of article to feature.
  2. In the last 26-week stretch, I counted 9 sbemails being featured. However, 7 of those were part of a daily feature of week 29. Only two have been feature since then: what I want and alternate universe, although #150 is a milestone, both emails are pretty recent compared to some of the older "classics" that have yet to be featured.
  3. mascot has also been turned down, but I would like to take another step to complete HRWiki_talk:Featured_Article_Selection#Milestone_emails.ElCool's list. I feel like that 1-week spat gave a false sense of email over-featuring. (Granted we definitely don't need another weekly email feature for some time.)
What say ye? --Stux 21:13, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
I still tend to think what I said before, but that's not why I'm posting. Rather, I'm asking for further input so we can decide on something soon. Heimstern Läufer 19:02, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
I vote for Whats Her Face as featured article of the week. Cyberdemon 20:09, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 6 (Feb 4-10)

It's time Minor Characters got their time to shine. Any minor characters you can think of? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 18:43, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

How minor is Rumble Red? --Trogga 03:19, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
I don't think we need to feature a minor character. We're talking about featuring one in early January, along with a TGS character a bit later in the month. I'm thinking we might try featuring an item, since we do that somewhat rarely. Perhaps the No Loafing Sign? Heimstern Läufer 03:43, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
We haven't featured the No Loafing Sign yet? Yeah, let's do that. Homestar-Winner (talk) 16:34, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
It's hard to believe we haven't done that one yet. I vote yes! o.0

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 7 (Feb 11-17)

Who Said What. 60.230.37.94 06:49, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

We really shouldn't be featuring that. Homestar-Winner (talk) 21:31, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
At some point, we ought to feature something from the Lappynapping saga. Ideally, I'd love to feature the entire saga for a week, but we don't exactly have a summary article for the whole thing, and I'm not sure we should. One possibility could be just featuring cliffhangers one week and retirement the next (pros, it allows us to cover the saga; cons, it takes up two weeks). Heimstern Läufer 21:42, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
I like the idea, but I also agree with the problems. The closest we have to a summary article is on the Lappy's page. --DorianGray 21:51, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
How bout a Valentines/Valentimes day toon. TGS 12. Justin Master of Nature 21:19, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Since Valentimes is so rarely done in H*R, featuring Teen Girl Squad 12 would be a good thing for this week. Hopefully, TBC will add more "holiday specials" in the future. wbwolf (t | ed) 23:36, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Totally! Great Idea, I think TGS is important to Vanentines day with Cheerleader's boy obsession. Dynamite =)
Sure, we can wait on the Lappynapping saga. Heimstern Läufer 19:08, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Which is a good idea anyway, until we figure out how to feature something that doesn't have a direct page (yet?). Also support TGS12. --DorianGray 05:06, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 8 (Feb 18-24)

How bout Where's An Egg?. Aaron Master of Life 20:35, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

I dunno, I was thinking retirement. Religious Corn   20:13, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Umm...No. Well, maybe ...{drum roll} Listerine. I'm a man on the prowl and I stick up for myself! The city is at night and I'm dancin' dancin'! Homsar solo!Master of Nature 21:19, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
retirement might be good, but Listerine is way to short and let's not forget that it is a HRW:OA. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 22:31, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
I think that nightlife may be good. It features a lot of important remarks and such in it. Besides, Listerine is too short, anyways. Dynamite 0.o
Nightlife is probably too new for an FA. Heimstern Läufer 19:08, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
By the time this article is featured, it wont be. DYNAMITE :{
Double Deuce?!?!?!!?!!?!?!!?!?!?!Justin Master of Nature 16:00, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, My choices are as follows and I quote:
"Where's an Egg,
Double Deuce,
The Simpsons"
I'm a man on the prowl and I stick up for myself! The city is at night and I'm dancin' dancin'! Homsar solo!Master of Nature 16:06, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm all for Where's an Egg, personally. Great game, thorough article. Heimstern Läufer 19:04, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 9 (Feb 25-Mar 2)

Who Said What. That game is very popular now, and should be featured, especially since it is so far the only old game not featured.

In case this is not clear to anyone: We will not be featuring Who Said What Now? until such a time that we can unprotect this article. In the meantime, please don't suggest featuring it, since such suggestions cannot be honored. Heimstern Läufer 01:52, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm still thinking of doing a running gag. What was the Answering machine where Homestar and Strong Bad try to get their "girlfriends" a Valentines gift? I like that one.
