Awexome Cross is a game of speed and skill. Playing as The Cheat, you must ride the Tire through an obstacle course in Strongbadia.

  • Collect the buxx.
  • Collect turbos to speed up the tire.
  • Collect power...downs? (little back arrows) if you're going too fast.

The obstacles are General Tso's Chicken, cinder blocks, syrup bottles, and boxes. If you hit an obstacle, you lose a life. At the end of each level, you launch off the stop sign propped up against the cinder block, and then add up your points with Strong Mad. You also get a trophy and an extra life at the end of each level.

Easter Egg

Not quite a Congraturation
  • If you collect every single dollar, and never die a single time up to the point where you've obtained exactly 25,000 points, you will be rewarded with a secret screen. It shows two scantily clad women (like in a NASCAR race) holding up the Cheat, and the Cheat appears to have a pizza trophy of some sort. There is also the message "Yeah, you won."

Fun Facts

Remarks

  • This game was originally an Easter egg in monster truck, but it is now featured on the Games menu. The original version only had one level.
  • The title reads "Awexome Cross 98," but to the right in smaller print it reads "1987."
  • A version of this game was created for the Game Boy Advance, available here

Glitches

  • Sometimes, on the old version, when you jump and get hit at the same time, the music stops, you stay in one place, and when you jump, you don't go anywhere.
  • If you look closely enough, you can see there is a speed difference between the top row (the pickups) and the bottom row. (the obstacles) The pickups don't move to the left as quickly as the obstacles.

Real-World References

  • The title screen resembles the game "Indianapolis 500."
  • The sound effects for jumping, crashing and collecting buxx are taken from the game "Super Mario Brothers" for the NES.
  • The sound effect for Strong Mad slapping the Tire between levels comes from the arcade game "Qix".

Fast Forward

  • Strong Bad refers to the pizza trophy as a possible reward for The Cheat's cartoon in crazy cartoon.
