I moved this page (from the old wiki) because there was a link pointing to it. I was unaware at the time that there was already in existance a page nearly identical to this one (the only difference is [[The House That Gave Sucky Treats| it]] has the word "that" capitalized). Please delete this page. I have already corrected the small amount of other pages that were linking here erroneously (Where those pages should have linked to: [[The House That Gave Sucky Treats]])

I added my interpretation of this (i.e., reference to Christian "hell houses") in the Real-world References section. (It's not attributed there, so now you know who wrote it.) == Linux Problems? ==

To say that there are problems in Linux says little, as there are so many possible sound/browser configurations. It could be a bug in the flash player (what version?), a problem with the sound library (OSS? ALSA?), hardware, browser, kernel, etc... or it could be a problem with the flash file itself. Unfortunatly, I don't have a linux box, so I could not help, but could versions be mentioned somewhere? If it is a major problem, could there be a page about it?

Interesting though. I would expect it to be a problem with the porting of flash player.

According to the disputed fun facts section it says don't refer to obvious things like poke'mon then on here it says The "I choose YOU, <insert character name here>chu" is an obvious reference to the show "Pokémon," where one character, Ash, has a similar famous line, "I choose YOU, Pikachu!"

Even in the fn fact itself it say's it's obvious, I rest my case-Anynonmous.

Naturally I chose them, and after they were eaten (I don't remember who I gave them to) the person's arm shot out and grew a la Tetsuo in the Akira movie. Has anyone else ever seen this? :::A screenshot (if that's what you mean) is usually taken in a PNG format (somehow I got my old PowerBook G4 to take TIFF screenshots, unfortunately I don't know how I did it), so I don't exactly get the "JPEG to PNG" part of it. But, here are your instructions:
:::1. Open up Preview (Found in /Applications/, or just access "Applications" in the Finder's sidebar.
:::2. File > Open and then choose your image. It may be a time saver to have the folder open with the image in it, so you can just drag it into the file selector. It may also be a good idea just to Preview into the Dock, so that you can just drag the file on the program's icon for it to open.
:::3. Go to File > Save As... and choose the file format you wish to save it in.
:::4. Ta Da!

:It's not so much that we've ''disabled'' SVGs, more that we haven't bothered to ''enable'' them. Mostly because the large majority of the images we upload are screenshots of H*R cartoons... so, while an SVG would be good (the Flash toons are vector art too, after all), it takes considerably more effort, and is much more likely to be inaccurate, than just taking a screenshot and uploading it as a PNG. Making it an SVG would involve either tracing a screenshot in an SVG tool (lot of effort, likely to not quite match the original) or exporting an SVG from Flash (also a lot of effort, would require a decompiler and a working version of Flash, and I'm not even sure if Flash ''does'' have an export to SVG option). {{User:Phlip/sig}} 01:45, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

I do not find this song offending. It shouldn't be offending to anybody. I do think that Strong Bad says that "he was probably born" because that is what I heard and because it follows the orignial song closer. I do think he says that guy is great because that was the lyric used in the last line.
Let's break it down.
Strong Bad says that they didn't know if he was really stupid. Let's just assume this is referring to Jesus. People did think He was stupid. And they still do. He stirred up a lot of controversy. There you go. And furthermore, SB ends his song by admitting and proclaiming that "that guy was great."

*"He said, uh, that he was great, and ev'body believed him." Is a reference to all of the people who believed that he was Jesus.
*If you look at [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O_Holy_Night#Lyrics the lyrics of the song], and listen to the toon at the same time, you'll notice that when Strong Bad says "That guy was {voice cracks} CHRIII—" is said on the line that says "O night divine, the night when Christ was Born". This is another possibility that who he's talking about is Jesus.
*To end the Born/Bored discussion, I hear a D in it, but after the N, so it's Born.

It's mock-Spanish, the "qu" is never pronounced like in English unless there is a diaerisis ("two dots") over the "u" and even though someone identified it as "Castilian" it's not. Pronoucing "s" as "th" is only heard is some parts of Andalusia, as opposed to the more common "soft c" and "z" "th" pronunciations.

:As a point of interest, one of the demos was the exclusive Strong Bad E-mail that will accompany strongbad_email.exe Disc Five, which the Brothers Chaps think will be out in the next month or so. The sound quality on the e-mail is not as good as it was for the Brothers Chaps themselves, since the Chaps were wearing microphones that fed directly into the camera. Who put the whole Titanic thing in there? I see no similarity. :This is probably the most salient example, but I think it would be difficult to hold that it is the first time. There are snippets of character development here and there, if we allow that the entire world of www.homestarrunner.com is one holistic narrative. For example, we know that the relationship between Strong Sad and Strong Bad wasn't always as it is now ([[The Secrets That I Keep]]). We also see a desperate attempt by the KOT to become a cool character (seeking help from Marzipan on her answering machine and creating KOTVOQPCS, which by it's name implies that the KOT is "popular"). Numerous characters have had epiphanies of self-awareness (SS "I'm a waste of space", CZ "I've hit rack bartom!"). And throughout the entire narrative we see fluctuating relational dynamics between all of the characters; their attitudes and behavior towards one another does not remain static (at times SB hates HR, and at other times they are found playing Cheat Commandos or drinking 'old ones together). Because HR.com is episodic in nature it is difficult to see much character development in any given instance, but as a broader story arc it should be easier to see development. I think the current interpretation of the phrase "normal bias" found on the tape in the easter egg might be the wrong one.
Public radio is commonly perceived as having a left leaning ''political bias''. The addition of the word "normal" might refer to the perception that this political bias is normal for public radio.
Further, "Normal bias" is in the label location, where the person who records something onto the tape indicates what the recording is or is about (such as "David Bowie" or "2007 mix tape"). If "normal bias" was actually referring to the technical design of the tape we might expect to find it stamped on the tape in a different location and in a different manner. If you follow the link on the word "bias" it will take you to a wikipedia article about tape bias, a technical development in sound reproduction for cassette tapes.
