Large Bean

Maxmushroom: changed word order, annoyed me

[[File:LargeBean.png|200px|thumb|The new face of terror!]]
{{about|[[pseudocharacter]]}} {{for|Skills of an Artist episode|Large Bean (toon)}}

'''Large [[Bean]]''' is the result of [[Strong Bad]]'s attempt to create an "entirely new horror icon" for his haunted house, [[St. Cadaverstump's Morgue-tuary|St. Cadaverstump's totally not just an old furniture warehouse Morgue-tuary]], saying people are getting tired of the same old [[Tragic Clown Dog|evil clowns]], [[Cheerleader|undead cheerleaders]], and [[The Sad Kids|bloody-eyed found footage children]]. Large Bean is a soul-eating humanoid figure with a large, "chubby crescent moon"-shaped greenish bean for a head, hence the name. He wears an white, untucked thrift store dress shirt and black pants, which, according to Strong Bad, were bought at a department store and were even more expensive than the shirt.

Although Strong Bad claims Large Bean is "the new face of terror", no one else seems to find Large Bean scary or even unsettling. [[Homestar Runner]] even gives [[Strong Sad]], [[Bubs]], and [[Coach Z]] a museum-style tour of Large Bean. There is apparently a museum gift shop where Large Bean plush dolls are sold. According to Homestar, other varieties of Large Bean include "small bean", "extra large bean", and his favorite, "teenie weenie beanie". At the end of the toon, a narrator tells a spooky poem about Largest Bean, but even the narrator can't get behind him. It is unknown if Largest Bean is another variety of Large Bean, or simply a nickname.

Nearly two years after his debut, Strong Bad draws Large Bean in the [[Skills of an Artist]] episode [[Large Bean (Toon)|Large Bean]], in which he appears beside "one of those old-timey suitcases with the travel stickers on it". Strong Bad implies that Large Bean will go to [[wikipedia:Des Moines, Iowa|Des Moines]] and the [[wikipedia:Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin|Wisconsin Dells]]. Homestar points out that he looks more like a joyous bean. In [[Fan Costumes 2017]], released less than a month later, in response to two fans dressing as Large Bean, Strong Bad is pleased that Large Bean is finally getting the respect he deserves.

[[File:HijinksLargeBean.png|200px|thumb|Stave it off...]]
Large Bean appeared on ''[[The Homestar Runner Mysfit-steries]]'' as a villain who murdered [[The King of Town|Councilman Zonepermit]]. Upon being chased down and unmasked, it was revealed he was actually the [[Stave It Off Guy]] in disguise. However, later in the cartoon, a monster that resembles Large Bean (and looks different from Stave It Off Guy's costume) appears to sing along with him.
What's with all the it(they)'s ???

I'm not sure. I believe the viruses multiply, but then I think it would just be easier to put "they," right? I dunno. Some reason obviously, though -- [[Homestar Runner]]

:I just moved the page to "The Virus", removed all those "(es)" and "(they)" things, and changed all the links to reflect this. I never really understood the whole "The Virus(es)" thing. And the page was pretty hard to read like that.[[User:Tom|<nowiki></nowiki>]] -- [[User:Tom|Tom]] 12:21, 5 Feb 2005 (MST)

Should this page '''really''' be going on about things like "it made the floppy disk only ''appear'' to disappear, in reality it took it"? That strikes me as pretty dang cheesy. If we won't tolerate that on the [[virus]] page, why here? --[[User:Shadow Hog|Shadow Hog]] 21:47, 7 Mar 2005 (MST)

*I really didn't like this page for the same reason Shadow Hog mentioned. Stuff like "in reality it took the floppy disk container" and speaking of a computer virus as if it were sentient do not make much sense to me. I rewrote the whole thing, but I'm not convinced it should exist at all, since it's basically just reproducing the [[virus]] and [[Main Page 22]] pages. Maybe the section on "Harmful Effects of the Virus" could be removed and replaced with links to those two pages?
**I like your idea, but when I tried to carry it out it got reverted twice.

== Necessary? ==

ThiS page strikes me as really unnecessary. Why do we need an additional list of the effects of "The Virus" when those effects can be seen and read about on the individual pages for the email Virus and the Main Page?

When I tried to edit this as written above, the reason given as to why it was reverted was that I killed the purpose. If this article seriously has no other purpose other than to repeat [[virus]] and [[Main Page 22]], please teach me how to get administrators to delete the article. {{unsigned|75.86.142.90|00:14, 24 February 2007}}

:I'm assuming that you mean [http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=The_Virus&diff=prev&oldid=421034 these changes]. On the one hand, it seems like a good idea, as the information from these two long lists is already covered in the respective articles. On the other hand, you have to actually completely read those articles to get the information. If you only want to know what the effects of the virus are, then this is the only place to easily access this information.{{User:Loafing/sig}} 00:25, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
By your logic, this whole wiki is redundant, seeing as we can just watch the cartoons. It's good to have things written out here without having to dig through transcripts. {{User:Dr._Clash/sig}} 00:31, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
:I hope you people are aware that I was not the first to complain that the page might be useless. I believe every post here includes such a rant. I propose we put it to a vote. 20:02, 24 February 2007 (CTC)
::Articles aren't deleted based on votes, they're based on consensus. Note also that if you're interested in becoming invloved in discussions for consensus, you may want to [[Special:Userlogin|create an account]], as the opinions of anonymous editors tend not to be given as much weight as those of logged-in users. {{User:Heimstern Läufer/sig}} 02:41, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
:::Almost every page on this wiki other than the toons is entirely redundant &ndash; they're just collations of information that's already on the toon pages organised in some way to make it easier to look for stuff. There's nothing on the page for, say, [[Senor Cardgage]] that you wouldn't already know if you watched all the toons with him in them... just like there's nothing here that you wouldn't know if you watched both the things with the virus in them. Now, I'm not saying we shouldn't delete this page... I'm ambivalent about it myself... I'm just saying that "it's redundant" alone isn't really a reasonable argument for deletion on this wiki, because almost everything here is. {{User:Phlip/sig}} 02:48, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Real world viruses have a name, IE: MyDoom.B@MM or something along that
== [[Making out]] ==

I find myself perfectly baffled by the pipe in the "Making out" link. I've tried typing <code><nowiki>[[Making out]]</nowiki></code> into pages like [[User:SRMX12|my userpage]] and [[HRWiki:Sandbox|the Sandbox]] and clicking "Show preview", and the link always directs to the [[Making Out]] running gag page (see the title of this post for a great example). Yet, when I try to type the ''exact'' same link in [[The Virus|this page]] and some other pages and showing preview, it directs to the [[making out|sbemail page]]. What is going on here? Can somebody explain this? I'm reasonably sure I'm not crazy. {{User:SRMX12/sig}} 03:52, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
:It seems that the link is case sensitive, as <nowiki>[[making out]]</nowiki> is for the email, and <nowiki>[[Making Out]]</nowiki> is for the running gag. [[User:Maxmushroom|Maxmushroom]] 14:27, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
::That wasn't the question. What about the in-between case where just "Making" is capitalized? {{User:The Knights Who Say Ni/sig}} 14:43, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
:::Yeah... it's weird. It seems to change what it links to depending on what page I'm on. For a good specific example of what I'm talking about, look at my edit summary for making this talk post (either in the Recent Changes or the page history). There, it links to [[making out]]. Then look at the post title on this page&mdash; it links to [[Making Out]]. Is there ''any'' rhyme or reason behind this? {{User:SRMX12/sig}} 16:21, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
::::This is true if either of the words are capitalized. <nowiki>[[making Out]]</nowiki> and <nowiki>[[Making out]]</nowiki> still link to the [[Making Out|gag page]]. <nowiki>[[making out]]</nowiki> will only link to [[making out|the email]].
:::Yeah... it's weird. It seems to change what it links to depending on what page I'm on.

== Necessary? ==

ThiS page strikes me as really unnecessary. Why do we need an additional list of the effects of "The Virus" when those effects can be seen and read about on the individual pages for the email Virus and the Main Page?

:I'm assuming that you mean [http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=The_Virus&diff=prev&oldid=421034 these changes]. On the one hand, it seems like a good idea, as the information from these two long lists is already covered in the respective articles. On the other hand, you have to actually completely read those articles to get the information. If you only want to know what the effects of the virus are, then this is the only place to easily access this information.{{User:Loafing/sig}} 00:25, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

== Macromedia is no more ==
Guys, Macromedia was bought by Adobe Systems.

So, it should be called Adobe Flash, or something.

:Not really. Flash Pro is still called [http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/flashpro/ Macromedia Flash] on the Adobe website, while the Flash player is now called [http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BIOW Adobe Flash]. I think it's safe to continue calling it Macromedia Flash. &mdash; [[User:Loafing|Loafing]] 09:35, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

== Opera 9 ==

Opera 9, the latest release, does '''not''' have Flash pre-installed. It's interesting that when you access H*R with Opera 9 without Flash installed, there's no little "download Flash Player" or anything, they ought to do that. But just for future reference - Opera 9 users will need to download the Flash player separately. {{User:Qermaq/sig}} 00:15, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

== Move? ==

Propose '''move''' to [[Flash]]. The program is now owned and supported by Adobe, but "Adobe Flash" is not the name of the program, as far as I can see. It's "Flash" by the company Adobe. {{User:Qermaq/sig}} 23:06, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

:I agree with Qermaq. The software is no longer Macromedia Flash and is no longer proprieted by Macromedia. The flash player is Adobe Flash, but the edit software is just Flash. {{User:Ten Ten/sig}} 20:58, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

::I agree. "Flash" is an accurate name, and by using it, we will avoid the whole Macromedia/Adobe discussion. We'll also be safe if Google buys them out ;-){{User:Loafing/sig}} 21:03, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
== {{pl|l=http://www.hrwiki.org/w/index.php?title=Flash&diff=726058&oldid=725777 Regarding revision 726058}} ==

In this edit, a sentence was worded a little differently. My ''initial'' interpretation of that sentence was that The Brothers Chaps had moved away from Flash 5. Now my first impression has left me intrigued. Who or what says they haven't moved away from Flash 5? I quote from [[Georgia Tech - 26 Apr 2007]] ({{pl|l=http://www.hrwiki.org/w/index.php?title=Georgia_Tech_-_26_Apr_2007&oldid=719695 revision 719695 at time of writing}}):
<blockquote>
'''MIKE:''' [...] Um, we use Flash 5, which, I think, they're on Flash 8 now, so the version of Flash we use is about four, four years outdated. Um, for various lazy reasons, mostly, just not wanting to, uh, you know, get used to the minor changes and interface and things like that.
<br>
'''MATT:''' Well, we definitely work faster. There's, uh, several things that we can do way faster in Flash 5 than we can in 8. Uh, we, we publish everything in Flash 8 because it compresses everything so much more. Like, we'll make a cartoon in Flash 5, and it'll be, like, one and a half megs, and then you put it in Flash 8, and it's 700k or something, so it, it really makes a difference, so, uh, to keep bandwidth under control, we do that sort of thing. [...]
</blockquote>
Since they use a later version of Flash to compress the SWF more effectively, and also to embed video, it's more difficult to prove that they've stopped using Flash 5. My question in short is this: Have they moved away from Flash 5, and if so, how can it be proven? Again, just wondering. As always, I'm sorry if some of what I said didn't make any sense. {{User:Soiled Bargains/sig}} 02:42, 27 October 2011 (UTC)

All swf's versions after April Fool 2014 are way higher, 22 I believe. Could this mean the Chap's have upgraded? This is also seen in "Flash is Dead!", when pieces of Flash fall: they are black. The color of Animate CC. Tell me what you think. *In the "Everybody, Everybody" wallpaper, [[The Poopsmith]]'s lower arms are orange, while his upper arms are stained.
*Viewing the Flash file of the wallpaper pop-up ([[HR:hsicons/wallpaper.swf|http://www.homestarrunner.com/hsicons/wallpaper.swf]]) instead of going through the Downloads page causes the links to not work. They come up as [[HR:hsicons/wallpapers/armywallpaper2.jpg|http://www.homestarrunner.com/'''hsicons/'''wallpapers/armywallpaper2.jpg]] instead of [[HR:wallpapers/armywallpaper2.jpg|http://www.homestarrunner.com/wallpapers/armywallpaper2.jpg]] (for example).

=== Inside References ===
*Strong Bad's message "Every time that I look at myself, I can't believe how awesome I am!!!" is a quote from [[Strong Bad Sings]].
*One of the wallpapers is a parody of the [[Waffle House]] logo.

=== Real-World References===
*The Homestarmy poster is an obvious play on the poster featuring [[Wikipedia:Uncle Sam|Uncle Sam]] with the words "I want '''you''' for U.S. Army".
**The Homestarmy poster and those flanking it are all based on war propaganda posters disseminated by the U.S. government during World War II.
*The Municipality poster is a throw-back to [[Wikipedia:George Orwell|George Orwell]]'s classic dystopia novel ''[[Wikipedia:Nineteen Eighty-Four|Nineteen Eighty-Four]]''.
'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{singing}'' Oh, I'm an email gambler... that means I play cards with emails. ''{He pulls up the email.}'' Full house.

<blockquote class="email">Dear Strongbad,<br />
<br />
What would happen if you poked<br />
Pom-Pom with a pin? Is that why I<br />
haven't seen him around in a while?<br />
<br />
Kevin<br />
OH</blockquote>

''{He pronounces "OH" as the word "oh!"}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{typing}'' Oh! Kevin. You scared me! I dunno. I guess he would pop or explode depending on whether he's filled with helium or hydrogen. And also depending on if he's on fire at time of poke. This is sounding pretty good. ''{clears screen}'' Poking Pom Pom with a pin while he's on fire! Let's see, how can we raise the stakes a little bit? Ooh! I'll be blindfolded! Truly this will be my greatest feat! ''{He puts on a blindfold with a rayed sun motif.}'' All right. I'm ready to go. ''{Types as "aligrt u.ln reay tui gi"}''

''{He leaves the computer. Cut to a field where Coach Z and Homestar Runner are standing.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER''': Um, I think it was dot-egg or dot-muffin or something.

'''COACH Z''': You sure it wasn't dot-com? ''{pronounced "cam" due to his accent}'' Or dot-org?

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER''': No, I'm pretty sure it was dot-egg.

'''STRONG BAD''': ''{offscreen}'' All right, Hindenburg.

''{He enters, still wearing the blindfold and brandishing a pin and the BMW lighter.}''

'''STRONG BAD''': Where you at?

'''COACH Z''': ''{He jumps out of the way.}'' Whoa! Hey there! Careful with those!

'''STRONG BAD''': Pom Pom? Is that you?

''{He begins to poke Homestar in the chin with the pin, which makes a little high-pitched "poink" noise each time.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER''': Yeah, it's me.

'''STRONG BAD''': ''{still poking}'' Homestar?!

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER''': Yeah, it's me. ''{Light pink dots begin to appear on Homestar's face}''

'''STRONG BAD''': Look, I'm trying to find Pom Pom. You know where he is?

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER''': I think he's over at Bubs's, filming his documentary.

'''STRONG BAD''': All right, thanks.

''{He stops poking and walks off.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER''': ''{assuming a teenager's breaking voice and slightly swaying}'' Hey, Coach! Check me out! I've got bad zits!

''{Cut to Bubs' Concession Stand, where The Poopsmith is wearing headphones and holding a boom mic over Bubs's head and Pom Pom is filming Bubs at his place behind the counter.}''

'''BUBS''': And that's how I almost died the fifteenth time.

''{Bubs, Pom Pom and The Poopsmith turn to look at Strong Bad as he enters.}''

'''STRONG BAD''': All right, Led Zeppelin! Let's get this settled once and for all!

''{Strong Bad jumps in the direction of the concession stand, but smashes his face against the wall.}''

'''BUBS''': That'll be five dollars! ''{He puts up a sign reading "Face Mashings $5."}''

'''STRONG BAD''': Ugh! ''{He shakes his head.}'' That's cool. I'm cool. Here I go again! Urah!

''{He jumps up and runs toward Pom Pom, who leaps into the air. He runs underneath Pom Pom and skids to a halt next to where he was standing. Pom Pom lands gracefully behind him with an angry expression.}''

'''STRONG BAD''': Pom Pom, is that yo&mdash;

''{Pom Pom kicks him into the air and 'juggles' him through several strikes, much like a fighting game, making combo signs appear after his fourth, fifth and sixth strikes with the ''Super Mario Bros.'' "coin" noise. He then finishes him off with a kick, sending him flying. A "1up" sign appears, along with the ''Super Mario Bros.'' "1-up" noise.}''

'''BUBS''': That'll be ten dollars! ''{He puts up a sign reading "Severe Pummelings $10."}''

''{Cut to the Compy room, where Strong Bad's reply is still on the screen. Strong Bad plummets through the roof, landing on his stool. He removes the blindfold.}''

'''STRONG BAD''': Ugh! ''{typing}'' So, since I was blindfolded, I didn't really get a clear view of what happened. But I'm pretty sure I didn't get the everloving snot beat out of me and that Pom Pom exploded in a big fiery ball that was visible from space. Poor guy... I feel kind of sorry for him. I might even miss him a little bit. Well, it had to be done in the name of science. Or, more accurately, because some kid e-mailed me and told me to. ''{said in a childishly angered manner}'' I hope you're happy, Kevin!
it<!--sic--> is with a heavy heart that i<!--sic--> inform you that your<br>
son recently exploded in a big, fiery ball that was visible<br>
from space. i<!--sic--> would also like to add that in no way did<br>

== Fun Facts ==
===Explanation===
*A [[Wikipedia:Full house (poker)|"full house"]], as Strong Bad says in the opening song, is a poker hand of three cards of one value and two cards of another (e.g., 3 Kings and 2 Tens would constitute a full house).
*This is actually one of the few times the opening song is [[related to the email]] or Easter egg.

===Remarks===
[[Image:Black-thing.png|thumb|The knot in its original black]]
*In the Flash file, between the two Easter eggs, from frames 2085-2105, a black version of the knot on the back of Strong Bad's blindfold appears in front of a plain white background. This black version is actually the belt from Pom Pom's karate outfit in [[Theme Song Video]]. ''{See also Inside References.}''
*In the letter to Pom Pom's parents, [[The Brothers Chaps]] did not modify the letter "q" (as they normally do) from how it actually appears in AhnbergHand, the [[font]] they usually use for Strong Bad's handwriting.
*After Strong Bad faceplants himself against the wall, the lighter goes out and is not re-lit.
*Strong Bad exposes himself as a less-than-expert typist in this email. After "raising the stakes" and donning a blindfold, he cannot type. An expert touch-typist would have no problem typing in this situation.
**However, in the email [[impression]], he is able to type with a picnic plate over his eyes.
*Supposing the denizens of the Isle of Pom use the same linguistic conventions as Germany, Strong Bad's use of ''Fräulein'' to refer to Pom Pom's mother is technically incorrect: instead he should be using ''Frau''. In German the word ''Frau'' ("woman") is used when addressing or referring to married women, like ''Mrs.'' in English, while ''Fräulein'' ("young woman") is used for younger, unmarried women, like ''Miss'' in English. As it is, the letter sounds like it is actually addressed to Pom Pom's father and sister, rather than to both of his parents.
**Additionally, using ''Fräulein'' is considered politically incorrect in Germany these days, and today both married and unmarried women are all addressed as ''Frau''.
*The sizing between Strong Bad and Homestar seems to be distorted in this email. Strong Bad's head is much larger when seen poking Homestar, contrasted to [[long pants]].
*When Strong Bad puts on the blind fold, he starts to misspell words on the keyboard. Despite this, he never needs to look down at the keyboard while typing, so it doesn't make sense as to why he'd start making so many errors.
*There is actually such a thing as [[Wikipedia: .EGG|dot egg]], but it is a file format and is unused in web URLs.

===Goofs===
*In the scene where Strong Bad attempts to pop Pom Pom near [[Bubs' Concession Stand]], he is holding the [[BMW Lighter]], but the BMW logo is backwards on it.
*Somewhere between Strong Bad's first and second attempts to poke Pom Pom, the Poopsmith disappears without a trace, for no apparent reason.
*In the letter to Pom Pom's parents, Strong Bad does not properly spell ''Fräulein'' as he omits the [[Wikipedia:Umlaut|umlaut]] over the "a." In the case of "au" diphthongs in German, the absence or presence of an umlaut over the "a" determines its pronunciation between "ow" and "oy" (as spoken by Strong Bad) respectively.
*When Strong Bad is falling back into the Computer Room, there is no reflection of any part of his body on the Compy's screen until he lands. Also note that there are no laces on the back of his head.
*When Pom Pom hits Strong Bad the first time, his BMW lighter flies away but his pin disappears.
*When Strong Bad pokes Homestar Runner on the chin 11 times, he ends up with 5 pink marks, but when the camera zooms out he has 8 marks. The marks are much more spread out than Strong Bad's pokes.

===Inside References===
*In the poker game, Strong Bad has two [[Abdi LaRue|Abdis]] and a [[Swedish Flag|Viklas]] card which are references to emails [[some kinda robot]] and [[little questions]].
*Bubs's "MonkeyDude" card has a picture of [[Monkey D]]. Monkeydude himself came from [[crazy cartoon]].
*The blindfold Strong Bad wears has the same design as Pom Pom's headband in the [[Theme Song Video]]. The tie is a recolored version of Pom Pom's belt, in the same cartoon. ''{Also see Real-World References.}''
*The music that accompanies Strong Bad's letter of consolation is from [[2 years]] and [[A Decemberween Pageant]].
*Pom Pom directing a documentary may be a reference to [[The House That Gave Sucky Treats]], where he dressed as controversial documentarian Michael Moore.
*This is an instance of [[Strong Bad getting beaten up]].
*This is an instance of Strong Bad [[falling through the ceiling]].
*Homestar's confusion over websites echoes his confusion in [[First Time Here?]]

===Real-World References===
[[Image:Beating.gif|thumb|"That'll be ten dollars!"]]
*Pom Pom's fighting style is similar to [[Wikipedia:Kirby (character)|Kirby's]] fighting style in the [[Wikipedia:Super Smash Bros. (series)|Super Smash Bros. series]], with combo and Smash attacks.
*When Pom Pom beats up Strong Bad, you can hear sound effects from the [[Wikipedia:Super Mario Bros.|''Super Mario Bros.'']] [[Nintendo|NES]] game, as is his scoring a [[Wikipedia:1-up|1-up]] after hitting Strong Bad several times (however, it usually takes 8 hits, not 7). The [[Wikipedia:Combo (fighting)|"Combo"]] sign is also a reference to the many fighting games that feature them.
*The rayed sun on Strong Bad's blindfold is from the military (especially pre-WWII) version of the [[Wikipedia:Flag of Japan#Military|Japanese flag]]. Its use here may be inspired by the 1984 film [[imdb:tt0087538|The Karate Kid]], in which Ralph Macchio's character wore a Japanese bandana known as a [[Wikipedia:Hachimaki| hachimaki]], which is traditionally worn during a difficult or important task. (Or maybe it was just the closest thing to a blindfold [[Mike Chapman|Mike]] had lying around among his props. See Inside References.)
*The email song is a reference to the [[Wikipedia:Kenny Rogers|Kenny Rogers]] song (and movie) [[Wikipedia:The Gambler (music)|The Gambler]].
*[[Wikipedia:Led Zeppelin|Led Zeppelin]] was a '70s British band noted for their innovative, influential approach to heavy blues-rock.
*[[Wikipedia:Hindenburg disaster|The ''Hindenburg'']] was a German Zeppelin that exploded and burned on May 6, 1937.
**A famous picture of the Hindenburg disaster was used as the cover to Led Zeppelin's [[Wikipedia:Led Zeppelin (album)|first album]].

===Fast Forward===
* Strong Bad falls through the roof again in [[keep cool]].
* Pom Pom again shows his martial arts prowess in [[Summer Short Shorts]].
* Homestar references a .[[egg]] domain in [[Sbemail 169 Deleted Scene]], and one is present on the Bookazon site in the DVD version of [[studying]].
* In [[Strong Badia the Free]], attempting to use the katana on Pom Pom results in Strong Bad recalling the events of this email. Trying to use the lighter on Pom Pom also refers to this email ("I'm not sure what Pom Pom's filled with...").
*Strong Bad plays poker again in [[Poker Night at the Inventory]]
*Pom Pom would eventually be popped in [[Doomy Tales of the Macabre]] and [[I Killed Pom Pom]].

('''Commentary by:''' [[Matt Chapman]], [[Ryan Sterritt]], [[Jonathan Howe]])

'''MATT:''' All right. No introductions this time, guys. We're just gonna do it.

'''JON:''' Let's go!

'''MATT:''' All right.

'''RYAN:''' On the spot.

'''JON:''' What&mdash;what email are we doing here?

'''MATT:''' Uh, this is pom pom.

'''JON:''' All right.

'''MATT:''' And he just sang his little song about being the email gambler.

'''RYAN:''' Ohh, is&mdash;

'''JON:''' Is that, uh&mdash;

'''MATT:''' Like ''{simultaneously with Ryan}'' Kenny Rogers Roasters.

'''JON:''' I used to have the, um, Kenny Rogers' record of the Gambler soundtrack.

'''MATT:''' Ooh, nice.

'''JON:''' And I thought, as a child, that if you put it on the record, you'd be able to watch the movie?

'''MATT:''' ''{high-pitched}'' What?

'''JON:''' Like, I just didn't know that the soundtrack was not the movie and&mdash;

'''MATT:''' Wow.

'''JON:''' I was&mdash;

'''MATT:''' How did you think&mdash;Where did you think the movie was gonna appear?

'''JON:''' ''{embarrassed}'' I don't know. I was just a visionary waiting for laserdisc.

'''MATT:''' Yeah, I guess so.

'''JON:''' Anyway.

'''RYAN:''' I met Kenny Rogers at a sushi place once.

'''MATT:''' Did you? Where at?

'''JON:''' He wasn't eating at his own chicken venue?

'''RYAN:''' No. He and his whole family were there so we got him some sake and he came over and met us.

'''MATT:''' Nice! Well, speaking of sake, Strong Bad is wearing a Japanese... headband, with the rising sun.

'''RYAN:''' Would you say Karma?

''{Jon and Matt laugh}''

'''JON:''' What?

'''MATT:''' I think I was karma.

'''JON:''' ''{laughs}'' Karma D?

'''MATT:''' Um&mdash;

'''JON:''' Oh, that's very&mdash;

'''MATT:''' What do you think those guys were talking about just then? Dot com or dot egg? Dot Muffin?

'''JON:''' My favorite, um&mdash;

'''RYAN:''' The movement.

'''JON:''' My favorite moment, you know, where you're always picking up the characters in some like, nonsensical&mdash;

'''MATT:''' Right.

'''RYAN:''' &mdash;conversation is when, when he goes, "And [[crying|you ''stay'' over there.]]"

'''MATT:''' That's right.

'''JON:''' That's...

'''MATT:''' I think we were discussing on this commentary for that one who&mdash;who exactly he's talking to.

'''JON:''' ''{unintelligible}''

'''RYAN:''' I like Poopsmith holding the&mdash;

'''MATT:''' I would like... we should make that documentary someday.

'''JON:''' Yeah.

'''MATT:''' Or, just like show that whole documentary about Bubs, I guess?

'''JON:''' ''{laughs}''

''{pause until Strong Bad says "I'm cool"}''

'''JON:''' He's cool.

'''MATT:''' I did some, uh, extra special animation on the little backstraps of his headband there. I don't remember&mdash;

'''JON:''' Yeah, Mike probably&mdash;

'''MATT:''' This part was really fun to animate.

'''RYAN:''' I like the noises.

'''MATT:''' Yeah.

'''JON:''' Angry Pom Pom face rules, too.

'''MATT:''' Ooh. He came right through the ceiling.

'''JON:''' That&mdash;That made the hole that, um, that three-foot hole or whatever?

'''MATT:''' Oh, well that was in the ceiling, though.

'''JON:''' Now I'm confused&mdash;

'''MATT:''' He came through the ceiling.

'''JON:''' Oh yeah.

'''MATT:''' He didn't shoot up through the floor.

'''JON:''' See, there's a lot of holes&mdash;

'''MATT:''' There's a lot of holes in Strong Bad's&mdash;

'''JON:''' ''{simultaneously}'' Serious falling hazard. Yeah.

'''MATT:''' It's an old, rotted-up house. Just with nice, nice carpet on top of it.

'''JON:''' So, um, Pom Pom fighting game coming soon?

'''MATT:''' Yeah, no, exactly. It makes me wanna play a side-scrolling Pom Pom street fighter&mdash;

'''JON:''' Pom Fighter. Double&mdash;

Maxmushroom: /**/Homestar's Foot

== Trouper. Not trooper. ==

People keep changing the transcript. Strong Bad says that Lil' Brudder is "such a trouper." People keep changing it to "trooper."
A "trouper" is a reliable, uncomplaining, hardworking person, like Lil' Brudder. It can also refer to a member of an acting troupe, but not here.

A "trooper" originally meant a member of the calvary. From that it came to mean a mounted police officer, and then later a state police officer who operates from his or her car. (Since cars are mounts like horses.)

Lil' Brudder is a "trouper," not a "trooper."

:I'll put a note in the transcript. --[[User:Upsilon|Upsilon]]

== Trooper. Not trouper. ==
Yea. It *is* "trooper". See for yourself.
-MCSkwayrd

Besides, "trooper" is cited as an alternative spelling for "trouper 2: a person who deals with and persists through difficulty or hardship without complaint" in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary. --[[User:Henebry|Henebry]] 14:54, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

==Rudy Reference?==
Li'l Brudder wants to be a quarterback when he grows up. The movie "Rudy" is a tearjerker about a boy who wants to play football for Notre Dame, even though "his grades were a little low, his athletic skills were poor, and he was only half the size of the other players." IMDb says "But he had the drive and the spirit of 5 people"! Awww. ~[[User:AC|AC]]

== 2,000 yards ==

The reference to 2,000 yards being only 125 yards a game seems a bit of a stretch, as LB doesn't say he would do it in one season, but just that he would throw that far, which would suggest to me that he meant he would throw it that far in one go. :I believe you're correct. Additionally, the verb in the sentence should be singular because both elements of the compound subject are singular, and the verb should also agree with the word closest to it[http://englishplus.com/grammar/00000026.htm], so the sentence should read "Neither I, nor anyone else <i>has</i> ever heard of DJ Smoldyface." I'm going to go ahead and add this. '''Page Title:''' Oh man! We're so doomed!!

==Transcript==
''{The Flash Plugin Error appears reading "This plugin is vulnerable and should be updated" and the text below it reading "Activate Flash". Homestar Runner soon after pops up from below}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Wo-ho! Check it out! I'm vulnerable and should be updated. ''{The scene pans out to show the error screen is a sign being held up by two planks, as Homestar Runner is in the field with it}'' Hey, that sounds like my dating profile!

''{Strong Bad runs to Homestar Runner, hyperventilating, with a filthy sack behind his back.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{dropping his sack}'' Homestar! What are you doing, man? This is horse giblets!

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{bending forward towards the sack}'' Oh, hello, horse giblets! ''{Strong Bad turns around at the sack}'' I thought you were just a filthy sack!

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{Strong Bad turns around to Homestar as Homestar stands back upright}'' No, I'm not referring to the filthy sack, whose name incidentally is F-Sack. I'm talking about the situation, man!

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' What situation? I'm trying to update my dating profile.

'''STRONG BAD:''' Haven't you heard? Flash is dying!

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Oh, well, good! I'm a way better runner than that guy anyways.

'''STRONG BAD:''' No, I'm talking about Flash. Like, what we breathe. The thing what creates us all.

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Strong Bad! If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were getting a little ''{Homestar's cap hovers a bit}'' religioso on me.

''{''hsbody'' layer and ''draw'' icons fall from the sky and embed themselves slightly into the ground}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Ahh! See? That's a chunk of Flash Authoring Interface right there! It's falling apart! We gotta head for the hills!

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Are those hills? I always thought they was bushes.

'''STRONG BAD:''' Figurative.

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' But actually, I never walked a couple of feet to find out for sure.

'''STRONG BAD:''' I meant it figuratively.

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Hey, let's do it right now!

'''STRONG BAD:''' I'm being figurative.

''{Homestar runs towards the bushes in the background, eventually running into them and falling back.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Blah! Bush. Definitely bush.

'''STRONG BAD:''' Now listen. I've got enough classic motion tweens and deprecated actions in ol' F-Sack here to last us at least six months until we can learn HTML5.

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Ooh, I know what that stands for! Hyper-Text Markup Lotion! ''{Homestar holds up a lotion with the HTML logo, minus the L, which is used at the bottom with the word "LOSCHE!".}'' Let me poop a little bit out for you. ''{Homestar squeezes the bottle and makes a small flatulent sound with his mouth three times}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Nope, nope, nope, the land of ten-thousand nopes. Homestar, the death of Flash is equivalent to a giant meteor heading straight for the Earth!

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Oohhh, I got you. Sounds like somebody's asking for another heaping helping of... ''{Homestar holds up a DVD cover of ''Deep Impact''}'' ''Deep Impact''!

''{Strong Bad groans}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{putting the DVD in front of his face and then impersonating a commander}'' Strong Bad, this is Morgan Shawshank, I need you to hit that meteor with every Duvall you've got.

'''STRONG BAD:''' Never mind. I'll be in Bubs' fallout shelter if anybody needs me. ''{Picking up his sack and walking away}'' Good luck with yourself, Homestar.

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' I don't want to miss a thing!

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{in the distance}'' Wrong movie.

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Wait, those were two different movies?

''{The Flash Plugin Error screen fills the scene with the text "Oh, man", and below it, "We gotta figure something out, fast!".}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' But they both came out, like, the same summer even.
:'''BUBS:''' Well, you know what they say, Strong Bad. Today's Pork and Beans is tomorrow's toilet.
:'''COACH Z:''' And in some rare cases, today's.
:'''STRONG BAD:''' Ugh! Bubs, I thought you said this fallout shelter was Coach Z-free.
:'''BUBS:''' Well, somebody's gotta carry on the human race.
==Fun Facts==
===Explanations===
*[[wikipedia:HTML|HTML]] stands for "HyperText Markup Language".
*The entire short alludes to [[wikipedia:Adobe Flash Player|Adobe Flash Player]], which is the software platform used to play all the Homestar Runner cartoons in web browsers. There have been periodic concerns about security issues with Flash Player. Many people have called for Flash to be abandoned entirely, in favor of the more modern and secure [[wikipedia:HTML5|HTML5]]. This movement gained significant momentum when the browsers [[Wikipedia:Firefox|''Mozilla Firefox'']] and [[Wikipedia:Google Chrome|''Google Chrome'']] officially deprecated Flash, tagging them as permanently non-secure plugins "in need of an update" regardless of their actual version; this situation, and the resulting error screens, led directly to the creation of the cartoon (the opening is the Firefox error message for an out-of-date plugin). Interestingly, Adobe Flash Professional can now export directly to HTML5 canvas, which should ease the transition.

===Trivia===
*This is the first short since [[The Animated Adventures of Puppet Homestar]] in September of 2009, nearly six years earlier. This closes what was then the biggest gap ever in between a type of toon; it has since been surpassed by the over-seven-year gap between [[Marzipan's Answering Machine]] Versions [[Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 16.2|16.2]] and [[Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 17.2|17.2]].

===Remarks===
*This is the sixth toon in a row not to include a [[toons without back buttons|back button]].
*On the [[TV Time Toons Menu]], the description reads "It's all over! Head for the hills!" in the [[New Stuff]] menu while the [[Shorts]] section simply reads "It's all over!".

===Fixed Goofs===
* Originally, the tall grass around objects embedded into the ground was a different shade of green from the rest of the grass. It was fixed within a few minutes, with only the grass around the Flash authoring interface pieces remaining the alternate shade of green.

===Glitches===
*All three Easter eggs have a clickable field around them before Homestar finishes talking, but cannot be activated until then.

===Inside References===
*Homestar Runner's dating profile is a reference to [[Homestar Runner's Website]].
**The profile contains the phrase "[[beans]] [[b/w]] rice".
**Homestar describes his relationship status as [[Marzipan]][['d]].
*Strong Bad previously called Homestar a "no-armed whitey" in [[The Interview]].
*Homestar previously gave Strong Bad a ''[[Deep Impact]]'' DVD in [[The Best Decemberween Ever]] and [[Real-Live E-Mails]].
*Bubs mentions [[pork]] and beans, which were previously mentioned in [[helium]], [[Arcade Game]], and [[business trip]].

===Real-World References===
*Homestar mistakes Flash for the comic book hero of the same name, [[Wikipedia:Flash (comics)|The Flash]].
*Strong Bad references the [[Wikipedia:List of U.S. state nicknames|state nickname]] of [[wikipedia:Minnesota|Minnesota]], "The Land of 10,000 Lakes".
*[[Wikipedia:Michael Stipe|Michael Stipe]] is a musician best known as the lead singer of the band [[Wikipedia:R.E.M.|R.E.M.]] He was the first inspiration for [[Strong Sad]]'s voice.
[[File:flashisdeadfakethumbnails.png|thumb|220px|"The death of Flash is equivalent to a giant meteor heading straight for the Earth!"]]
*The YouTube version has two exclamation marks in its name.
*As with most of the YouTube versions of recent toons, a [[YouTube Related Video Thumbnails|group of nine thumbnails]] appears at the end of the main cartoon, parodying YouTube's related video thumbnails. However, unlike the previous two toons with these fake thumbnails, all of the thumbnails present in this version are new. The thumbnails are as follows:
{| {{standardtable}}
|-
| [[Homsar]] and F-Sack and in The Field as there's an explosion in the background. This is a reference to the "meteor" Strong Bad compared Flash's death to. || A thumbnail drawn by [[The Cheat]] reading "Pow'd by The Cheat", a reference to [[Powered By The Cheat]]. || [[Pom Pom]] is seen on blue gradient without a head and his eyes moved onto his body. There is white text above him reading "The New Style!".
|-
| A cross-eyed dancing Bubs is on a gray floor against a purple polka-dotted background with the text above him reading "Still Dang Dancin'!", a reference to [[Dancin' Bubs]]. || A real-life plushie Strong Bad is seen in a room with a poster in the background. This plushie is first seen in [[Dangeresque: Puppet Squad]] and is first shown clearly in a tweet by [[@StrongBadActual]]. || [[Puppet Homestar]] is with [[Mike Chapman]] again in "Coffee Town with Homestar + Mike" Episode 12. However, the name of the show is in black text in a white box and is over Mike's face.
|-
| There are four Strong Bads with one of their arms extended against a blue gradient. || A [[peasant]] from [[Peasant's Quest Proposed Sequels|Peasant's Quest Online?]] hovering over the [[Compé]]'s keyboard on Strong Bad's desk. The peasant is leaving a bouncy, dashed white line behind him, à la [[Where U Goin' 2?]] || Multiple light brown, blue and white diagonal stripes. Text above reads "Cool Stripes w/ [[The Poopsmith]]".
|}
*After the thumbnails, the Easter eggs are played in the order of Bubs' Fallout Shelter, the monologue by F-Sack, and then Homestar Runner's dating website.
<blockquote style="background:#000000;color:#FFFFFF;padding:10px;margin-left:50px;border:none;text-transform:uppercase;font-weight:bold;">
Telltale Games Presents
</blockquote>

''{"Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People" logo on a red background flashes on the screen, with a wailing electric guitar heard in the background.}''

''{cut to Strong Bad standing in front of several computer monitors with the same logo displayed on them}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Hey, everybody. My name is Strong Bad from Telltale Games, and I'm the lead designer and girlfriend have-er for ''{cut to side shot of Strong Bad in black & white}'' Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. Now the clip ''{cut back to forward color shot}'' you are about to see is just after I upgraded my shark gun to shoot live sharks rather than ''{black & white}'' just floppy dead formaldehyde sharks. ''{color}'' No, these are real snappin' hungry live sharks. Let's all watch.

''{SBCG4AP logo flashes on the screen}''

''{cut to a scene in The Old Club from [[Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective]]. Dangeresque and Renaldo are standing next to Perducci's table.

'''DANGERESQUE:''' ''{walking towards the camera}'' Bust out your breaking and entering shoes, Renaldo. We've got a paycheck to rescue! ''{Dangeresque runs into the camera, and then it falls over}''

''{Cut back to Strong Bad in the studio, looking off to the side}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Uh... ''{chuckles}'' That was, uh, clearly the wrong clip. ''{close up; Strong Bad shakes his head}'' Oh, those developer guys. They probably slipped it in there like a practicals joke. Anyway, ''{black & white}'' let's move on to the good stuff. The next bit of game play footage is when ''{color}'' my jet pack craps out on me in mid-air and I have to avoid the orchestra ''{black & white}'' of squids and land safely ''{color}'' on Pom Pom's belly. Let's watch.

''{SBCG4AP logo flashes on the screen}''

''{Cut to a scene from The Field, where he lifts a cardboard box.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Nothing.

''{Cut back to Strong Bad in the studio}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{annoyed}'' What the crap!? All right, nevermind. ''{closeup}'' I'm moving onto the big guns. This is a clip from the finale. ''{black & white}'' I only got two words for you: ''{color; Strong Bad makes quote marks with his hands}'' Robot pants.

''{SBCG4AP logo flashes on the screen}''

''{Cut to a scene at the Race Track from [[Homestar Ruiner]]. Strong Bad tries to grab the [[Heavy Lourde]] while on the pogo stick, but he's then pulled down}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Oof!

''{Cut to the scene in [[Baddest Of The Bands]], when Strong Sad shocks Strong Bad with the taser.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' WAAGH!

''{Cut to a scene from [[Strong Badia The Free]], when The Poopsmith, dressed as a Poopertrooper, leaps through Strong Bad's window and clobbers him.}''

''{Cut back to Strong Bad in the studio}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' RAAAH! That's it!

<blockquote style="background:#000000;color:#FFFFFF;padding:10px;margin-left:50px;border:none;font-weight:bold;">
'''STRONG BAD:''' Show's over.

<blockquote style="background:#000000;color:#FFFFFF;padding:10px;margin-left:50px;border:none;font-weight:bold;">
The Last Straw
</span>
</blockquote>

'''STRONG BAD:''' Stupid game play footage... See what Videlectrix has to say about this. ''{Sound of a phone being dialed}''

''{Cut to a behind shot of Strong Bad sitting at his desk. The phone continues to ring.}''

'''VIDELECTRIX GUY:''' ''{a crash is heard; yelling}'' I'll deal with you later!

'''STRONG BAD:''' Uh, hello?

'''VIDELECTRIX GUY:''' Hello, Vide-ma-lectrix.

'''STRONG BAD:''' What's the deal? ''{Strong Bad leaps out of his chair, and the camera follows him walking among cubicles}'' I thought everything was taken care of.

'''VIDELECTRIX GUY:''' Yeah, why don't we fax you over the gameplay we were able to salvage.

'''STRONG BAD:''' You're going to fax me some gameplay footage?

'''VIDELECTRIX GUY:''' Sure, we do it all the time!

''{Strong Bad arrives at a fax machine.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' All right, fine, fax it over. Maybe I can use that to show some good gameplay footage.

''{Close up of the incoming fax; a roughly drawn picture of Strong Bad on a grid with question marks above his head, titled "Untitled Strong Bad Project".}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' What is this crap? ''{cut back to wider shot}''

Telltale Games Presents
</blockquote>

That's it!

<blockquote style="background:#000000;color:#FFFFFF;padding:10px;margin-left:50px;border:none;font-weight:bold;">
The making of Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People
</span>
</blockquote>

'''STRONG BAD:''' Show's over.

<blockquote style="background:#000000;color:#FFFFFF;padding:10px;margin-left:50px;border:none;font-weight:bold;">
The Last Straw
</span>
</blockquote>

==Transcript==
''{The following title screen appears}''

<blockquote style="background:#000000;color:#FFFFFF;padding:10px;margin-left:50px;border:none;text-transform:uppercase;font-weight:bold;">
Telltale Games Presents
</blockquote>

That's it!

<blockquote style="background:#000000;color:#FFFFFF;padding:10px;margin-left:50px;border:none;font-weight:bold;">
The making of Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People
</span>
</blockquote>

'''STRONG BAD:''' Show's over.

<blockquote style="background:#000000;color:#FFFFFF;padding:10px;margin-left:50px;border:none;font-weight:bold;">
The Last Straw
</span>
</blockquote>

'''VIDELECTRIX GUY:''' Well, I'm sorry Strong Bad, but I can't help ya'.

''{Close up of the fax again. Another sheet is coming in showing Strong Bad, head down, standing next to Strong Sad wearing a princess hat and hearts above his head}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Remember those disks I sent you? Do you have any idea what I went through to get those?

''{Cut back to a wider shot.}''

'''VIDELECTRIX GUY:''' Well, there wasn't a whole lot of gameplay on those disks.

'''STRONG BAD:''' What do you mean? I sent you like, 25 of those things.

''{A crash and a woman's scream are heard over the phone.}''

'''VIDELECTRIX GUY:''' YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH&mdash; ''{phone call disconnects; a reorder tone can be heard}''

''{Strong Bad puts the phone away and looks towards the camera}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Oh, it looks like I'm gonna have to tear Telltale a new one. Verbally, of course.

''{Cut to an exterior shot of the Telltale offices. Camera pans slightly and zooms in on a window.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{muffled, yelling}'' Cool game! Strong Bad's cool game! Not&mdash;

''{Cut to a conference room, with many Telltale employees standing or sitting nearby.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' "box-look-under" game! Or ''{employee moves out of the way to reveal Strong Bad standing on the conference table}'' "green bushes" game! What is that mess!?

''{Cut to more direct shot of Strong Bad on the table}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{Walking to one developer}'' You told me you could do a blade! A blade! ''{walks away}'' I thought a dialog tree was the name of some cool alien sentient plant thing! ''{walks over to another developer}'' And you! Ugly glasses Telltale! ''{close up of Kevin Bruner}'' You said "point and click" meant pointing a gun ''{wider shot}'' and clicking the trigger! ''{walks away}'' And thank goodness we didn't decide to name it "Strong Bad's Cool Game ''Developed By'' Attractive People". You guys are the ugliest scrubs I've ever seen! ''{Strong Bad screams incoherently and flails his arms}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{shakes his head, calmer}'' Okay. Calm down. Keep it together. Here's what you do to save this game from certain doom. ''{low shot of Strong Bad on the table}'' Fade in. Interior. ''{screen behind Strong Bad now reads "Quality Game"}'' Awesome video game. Day. In a world where reality and videogames have ''merged'' in a pixelated cataclysm. Can beefy, robot panted Strong Bad restore order to the galaxy, save the princess, and SLAY THE DRAGON?!

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{calmer again}'' That's, uh, all I got. I gonna find the sandwich cart guy.

''{Strong Bad leaps off the table and walks off. The piece of paper Strong Bad is holding falls to the table, revealing to be the [[Ultimate Strong Bad|"ultimate"]] form from [[SBCG4AP Advertisement]]. A developer picks it up. Reverse shot of the developer as nods and smiles in approval.}''

'''DAN CONNORS:''' Oh yeah.

''{Cut to a montage of scenes from [[8-Bit Is Enough]]: Strong Bad looking through the Trog-Sword, the Trogdor arcade cabinet punching Strong Bad, Strong Bad shooting the light musket in the Computer Room}''

''{After Strong Bad shoots the musket, crossfade to Strong Bad in silhouette against a blue striped background. The montage continues as the announcer talks over: Strong Bad swinging from the vine at the Race Track, The Poopsmith as Mista Fixit holding up a sign "Let's Build Something", Marzy-Kong and Bubs on the top of Bubs' Concession Stand as she stomps the scaffolding}''

'''ANNOUNCER:''' In a world where reality and videogames have merged in a pixelated cataclysm.

''{Rotating shot of Strong Bad in the Videlectrix Mainframe}''

'''ANNOUNCER:''' Can beefy, robot panted Strong Bad ''{words in pixelated font appear on the screen over a blue striped background}'' restore freedom to the galaxy?

''{Cut to a shot of Stinkoman, laughing}''

'''ANNOUNCER:''' ''{words appear on the screen again}'' Save the princess?

''{Cut to a closeup of Strong Sad in Peasantry}''

'''STRONG SAD:''' I'm a wizard, not a princess!

'''STRONG BAD:''' Princess!

'''STRONG SAD:''' Wizard!

'''ANNOUNCER:''' ''{Words on the screen again}'' Slay the dragon?

''{Cut the Trogdor video game coming alive, then to Trogdor roaring in silhouette against a flame background. Cut back to the Trogdor game in the Basement punching Strong Bad and chasing after Strong Sad.}''

''{Cut back to the striped background}''

'''ANNOUNCER:''' Find out in 8-Bit Is Enough.

''{Cut to a black screen. Thunder is heard. Title card reads: "See how it ends. Play Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People. All five episodes avaialble for WiiWare and PC." Card changes to "Become cool and attractive. Telltalegames.com"}''
The discount brick scene, seems a reference to [[Wikipedia:Krazy_Kat|Krazy Kat]], especially after Homestar talks about "a classic line".
Of course, this might be a meaningless coincidence.
===Another convoluted band reference thing (DECLINED)===
Strong Bad may be poking fun at rock group [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerson%2C_Lake_%26_Palmer Emerson, Lake & Palmer]; his first extension of Em's name is Emerson and the group in question released an album in 1971 entitled [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarkus Tarkus], hence Em''tark''anderundersgunderson (while this may be stretching things, the letter "u" replaces "a" in the repetition of "ander," the letter "s" following).
:*According to this --> [[Names ending in -erson]] you are correct, <strike>it still could be a double gag though. However, I'm not accepting it yet anyway. As I said, he needs to give more proof. </strike>--[[User:AnarchyBalsac|AnarchyBalsac]]
== Some girl named Beth ==
Am I the only one in the dark about "some girl named Beth?" Aside from the storybook Beth who looks like a dude, does Strong Bad ever mention a Beth?
I believe that Strong Bad just did this for the purpose of the rhyme. You could just say that Beth was a wild card.

== Goof? ==

Shouldn't the "Strong Bad misspells "occasionally" as "occassionally," mere seconds after having mentioned making fun of his fans' spelling errors." Be more in something like the remarks section rather than the goofs section? Didn't TBC mean that as a joke rather than a messup? [[User:Bassium!|Bassium!]]
