(In the case of the message I sent your brother, it was because of the fact that edit summaries can't be changed, and so we have to be careful what we put in them.) I do try, however, never to be insulting, and as I said way back when, I do apologize if he took it that way. Also, I have nothing against young users, and I will happily give assistance to anyone who needs it (just have a look around this talk page). It should be noted that several of our exceptional users, including a sysop, are quite young, relatively speaking. Even though actual age doesn't matter, I don't see anything wrong with expecting a certain level of maturity from our users, once they've had a chance to get the hang of things. The wiki, after all, is not a toy. We need as many people—sysops and users alike—who will do that.     Around here, we consider several factors when choosing whom to make sysops, and the most important consideration is trustworthiness. A close second is participation in the project. Rounding out the top six are the ability to deal with other users (especially in mediating disputes or deciding when to step in), technical know-how, the necessity for another position (that is, whether or not the wiki needs more sysops at any given time), and finally seniority. ([[bottom 10|Number seven]] on the top-six list is [[Senor Cardgage|senority]], which is the ability to make bad H*R-related jokes.)     With those things in mind, at this time I would not be comfortable with making you a sysop. Not long ago, you vandalized this wiki and less than a day ago you were blocked from the fanstuff wiki for persistent trolling. I think it will take a while for people to trust you again after that. Additionally, you currently don't meet the [[User_talk:It%27s_dot_com/Let%27s_Get_Started_on_Doing_All_Those_Awesome_Things_I_Suggested#How_to_become_a_sysop|participation requirements]]. That is, you really don't have that many edits in the main or talk namespace nor have you done a big project. I haven't seen how you handle stress or abuse from problematic users and I don't know the status of your technical know-how (again, because I don't have a large sample of edits from which to judge). Last (and this one matters the least to me but is nevertheless important) there's the question of seniority: In other words, even if all else were equal, quite a few deserving people have been here a lot longer than you, and would thus be ahead of you in line whenever we promote the next user(s).     Please don't think I'm trying to be overly discouraging, but your persistence in asking has made me want to be as unambiguous as possible. (By the way, asking for a position of power—no matter where you are (except maybe Wikipedia)—is a sure way to guarantee that the position will ''not'' be handed to you. Just so you know.) I encourage you to read the link above about the requirements and follow its advice. Over time, perhaps a long time, if you make good contributions and keep your nose clean, then you might be more seriously considered. Just so you know, the reason I restored that image for "[[It's like it was meant to be]]" is just because Homestar Coder and Abdi both expressed their support for it and I felt that the person who removed it was acting rather unilaterally. :Most programs allow you to save in PNG format. Do you have microsoft paint? It's a simple program, but that's the one I find myself usually using. Once you have the image you want in the paint program, press file, save, then when you get to the box where you type in the file name you want it saved as, you'll notice right below that you have a box labled "Save as type", with the default option usually being 24-bit bitmap. Open that drop down box, and one of the options, (probably the very last one) will be "PNG". Save as that, and it all comes out looking PNGful. :The lockdown means that anonymous users temporarily can no longer edit the Wiki. Also, no new users can register unless a sysop sets up an account for them. This happened because a vandal bot replaced several pages with the text "N---- STOLE MY COW!" at an extremely fast rate. We couldn't revert its edits and the sysops couldn't block the many usernames it was registering fast enough, so a lockdown was the only way we could stop it. :Most programs allow you to save in PNG format. Do you have microsoft paint? It's a simple program, but that's the one I find myself usually using. Once you have the image you want in the paint program, press file, save, then when you get to the box where you type in the file name you want it saved as, you'll notice right below that you have a box labled "Save as type", with the default option usually being 24-bit bitmap. Open that drop down box, and one of the options, (probably the very last one) will be "PNG". Save as that, and it all comes out looking PNGful. Is there any sort of definition between "Appearances" and "Filmography" on a page? I noticed mostly it's [[Items|items]] that have "Appearances", whereas [[Characters|characters]] have "Filmography", which makes sense to me. Why I ask is if there's a difference, because I noticed a lot of [[Places|places]] have "Filmography". If you ask me, they should have "Appearances" because they're inanimate. "Filmography" sounds more like an acting thing, whereas "Appearances" sounds like an... appearing thing. If there is a user whose name appears red on rc, but has a talk page, it's likely that they've been welcomed. If you go to the talk page and click the history tab, you can check to see if they've already been welcomed, or if they haven't and just created a talk page a while back. But if you're not sure at all, just check that user's contributions and see how far they've been here. :The lockdown means that anonymous users temporarily can no longer edit the Wiki. Also, no new users can register unless a sysop sets up an account for them. This happened because a vandal bot replaced several pages with the text "N---- STOLE MY COW!" at an extremely fast rate. We couldn't revert its edits and the sysops couldn't block the many usernames it was registering fast enough, so a lockdown was the only way we could stop it. Um... Is it just me, or did the text for page diffs just get really small? Usually, when you go to the recent changes and click the "diff" button, the text above (y'know, that appears in green or yellow boxes, and sometimes is red where you added stuff) isn't much smaller than the text on the rest of the page. Now, though, it's ''very'' small. I can hardly read it... I have a screenshot of this new version too (although THAT is also small, due to the nature of Photobucket), just to show the differences. Hold down Ctrl and move the mouse wheel up, then down. The size of the text should change. Adjust it until it's back to normal, and you're done.
