Strong Bad Email #20

Caitlyn, steve, Mike, Chad, and Sue have some questions for Strong Bad. He'd rather not answer them.

Cast (in order of appearance): Strong Bad
__FORCETOC__
Transcript
STRONG BAD: Hello, everybody! This week it's time for some spring cleaning. Ready? Go!

<pre>Dear Strong Bad,
Why do you hate Homestar so much? He seems
like a nice guy to me.
Caitlyn</pre>

STRONG BAD: Oh, what a good question! Let me think about how I should answer that...

DELETED!!

STRONG BAD: Ha ha ha, that felt great. What's next?

<pre>Do you have a secret crush with marzipan?
steve
sterling, VA</pre>

{Strong Bad prounounces VA as "Vah"}

STRONG BAD: Ah, this question is definitely worth my time and consideration.

DELETED!!

STRONG BAD: Uh ho ho, this is getting good!

<pre>Dear Strong Bad,
How do you type with boxing gloves on?
Mike,
Bend Oregon</pre>

STRONG BAD: Oh, that's a new one. No way do I get this freaking question all the time. I suppose I'll probably answer it right now.

DELETED!!

STRONG BAD: {laughing} Whoa, who's next man?

<pre>Dear Strong Bad,

Are you made of crap? Did you invent the word crap?
Where did the word crap come from?

Crapfully crapfully,
Chad</pre>

STRONG BAD: Oh, I'll totally answer this one because apparently the only thing I'm concerned with is the word crap-

DELETED!!

STRONG BAD: Oh, I'm on a roll!

<pre>Strong Bad,
Your last email was pathetic. I was disappointed.
Come on, you can do better than that! This is like
the highlight of my week.
Surprised at your lack of humor,
Sue</pre>

{Instead of saying "Sue", he says and types "deleted".}

DELETED!!

STRONG BAD: Aaaah! I feel so cleansed. So fresh and so clean, clean. Okay, so until next time, ain't nobody dope as me.

{The Paper comes out and it says "Click here to e-mail strong bad", click on the text to email him.}

Fun Facts
*This is not the first time we have seen Strong Bad delete something. He deletes an email during homestar hair. However, this is the first occasion where the screen flashes DELETED!

*The last few lines are from a song by Outkast called 'So Fresh, So Clean'; that's why he said 'Clean' twice. The song's chorus goes Ain't nobody dope as me, I'm just so fresh and clean (so fresh and so clean, clean).

*Susan, who notes that last week's email was "pathetic", was referring to tape-leg.

*When he answers Susan's email, he types "DELETED" then presses enter. All the other times he deleted emails here, though, he never typed it.
StrongBadEmail #100

The long-anticipated 100th Email has arrived! Jon from NH asks Strong Bad how long he has known Homestar Runner. It ends up as a big spoof on the original Homestar children's book, in WIDESCREEEEEEEEEEEEN!

Transcript
STRONG BAD: ONE TWO THREE FOUR {starts singing hard rock with instruments in the background} EMAIL IS AWESOME, EMAIL IS WEIRD, EMAIL IS AWESOME AND EMAIL IS WEIRD! And I'll never forget the way it was, GRRRL!

{Starts reading. However, the text is in the style of Tandy, and it is in fact the very first e-mail he's ever done.}

<pre>Dear Strong Bad,

Do you take your wrestling mask and boxing
gloves off before you go to bed?

Sincerely,
Abdi LaRue
San Diego, CA</pre>

STRONG BAD: {Stops reading about halfway through} dajede...wait a minute! {hits Compy, the text fixes itself to be a new email} There we go!

{reading}

<pre>Hey there, Strong Bad!
I was wondering. How long have you
known Homestar? Is there some sort of
flashback that could describe how
and when you guys met?
Your Fan,
Jon, NH</pre>

{Instead of "New Hampshire," Strong Bad says "No Hamsters"}

{typing} Oh, I got flashbacks alright, Jon. I'm like, Discount Flashback Warehouse over here. But this particular flashback has way too much historical significance to be shown in anything but WIDESCREEEEEEEEEEEEN. Left side: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAH! {As he says this with a resonating noise, the left side of the screen expands out. His next one he doesn't type.} Right side: WOOOOOAHH--{the right side of the screen expands out to show Homestar standing there} wha-uh, what are you doin' over there?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, I'm pretty much here every week. It's just that usually I'm behind the black.

STRONG BAD: I guess I should start... lookin' to the right more often.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: In fact, I think I might live here.

STRONG BAD: I don't think so. If you lived here, you'd have less non-broken bones. And more crushed spirits.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {looking dejected} Yes sir.

STRONG BAD: Frame shift left! WOOOOOAAHHH! {the screen starts shifting left to get Homestar out of the shot}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: See ya after the flashback!

{We go to a picture of Strong Bad on the moon with a tennis racket. The drawing is in the style of the original children's book and we see that it's just a parody of that style. Although, the characters are still somewhat animated. Strong Bad doesn't read every little piece of text, so the text that's there that he doesn't read will be included in a parenthetical when it occurs}

STRONG BAD: Strong Bad meets the Homestar Runner.

{turns the page to a picture of just Strong Bad}

Everyone loves Strong Bad. He is an okay guy.

(turns the page to a picture of Strong Bad and Coach Z playing tennis on the moon}

One day Strong Bad was finishing up a game of tennis on the moon with his pal, the Coach Z. He won 1,000,000 to 3. "You see, 3 is clearly a smaller number than a million," said Strong Bad. "Ooooooh. Now I understand."

{turn the page to them flying down a rainbow from the moon to earth}

They flew on a sweet, sweet rainbow bridge back down to Free Country USA.

{turn the page to Coach Z holding a towel and talking to Strong Bad}

"I'ma go shower up!" said the Coach Z. "Gross!" said Strong Bad. "Shut up!"

{turn the page to see Strong Bad walking toward a giant pink egg with yellow spots}

Walking home, Strong Bad came upon a big ol' egg. "Waaaaaaaaagh!"

{turn the page to a closer view of Strong Bad and the egg}

"I wonder what's inside," thought tiny-handed Strong Bad.

{turn the page to see Homestar behind the egg wearing a yellow shirt with a duck on it}

"Hello! How do you like my egg, Mr. Strong Bad?" said a voice from behind. "Who the crap are you, Duckshirt?" asked No-shirt. "I'm The Homestar Runner!" said the duckshirt. "Some folk say I'm a terrific athlete."

{turn the page to a closer view of the scene}

"Well I folk say you're a terrific liar!" {said Strong Bad.} "This is plainly my egg. {in a King of Town voice} "What's all the commotion about?"

{turn the page to zoom out to see the Prince of Town looking at Strong Bad and Homestar}

...said the svelt, young Prince of Town. "And who's this weirdo in the duckie shirt?" "I'm The Homestar Runner! Some folk say I'm a terrific {athelete!" said Duckshirt.} "Prancibald over here says this egg belongs to him, when I found it first."

{turn the page to a closeup of the Prince of Town}

"We'll settle this with a ten-step footrace."

{turn the page to see a bunch of the gang, including some characters from the original children's book, watching Strong Bad and Homestar at the start line of a race}

And so they all gathered for a ten-step footrace. The slim and trim young Prince of Town explained the rules. {a piece of paper shows up reading: "Ten-step Footrace Official Rules. Rule One. Whoever goes the most distance in ten steps, will be the winner! Rule Two. No biting."} "Whoever goes the most distance in ten steps, will be the winner!"

{turn the page to see Strong Bad and Homestar at the line and Marzipan giving the startoff.}

"Ready-and-set-and-go-now." {they start running, with Homestar counting} "One, two, three, four, five, six..." {Strong Bad has tiny steps and is way behind} "Keep up the pace. Gotta break 4:40"

{turn the page to see silhouettes of everyone, and Homestar has reached the end}

"Ten!" "And the Duckie-man is the winner. Loser gets the egg."

{turn the page to see Homestar up front and Strong Bad in the distance with the egg}

"WHAAAAT??!!?&,:;%${}" "Hooray a-for me!!"

{turn the page to see Strong Mad holding the egg over his head while Strong Bad watches}

And so Strong Mad helped to break open the egg. {Strong Mad tosses the egg}

{turn the page to see the egg broke and a bunch of fishsticks pour out}

And out poured a lifetime supply of fishsticks. And a The Cheat!!!!

{The Cheat springs out of the egg, turn the page to give him his very own page. Turn the page again to see Strong Bad and the Cheat with the egg in the background.}

"Awesome! My very own a The Cheat!"

{turn the page to see everyone hanging out by a boombox}

And so, The Cheat mashed play on an extremely expensive jambox with high-speed dubbing and everybody put their weight on it! {The Cheat plays music which happens to be a remix of the original intro music for H*R.com, and everyone dances)

{cut back to Strong Bad sitting at the stool, talking to Homestar, who's sitting on the ground listening to the tale}

So that's pretty much how it all went down, huh?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh yes. Read me another one! Another one!

STRONG BAD: Ohhhhh, very well. This one's called The Homestar Runner Gets Something Stuck In His Craw {Strong Bad pulls out a children's book of the same name. Compy beeps and turns blue with the caption "Congratulations! You have answered 100 emails." and ascii fireworks.} What the--whoah! Would ya look at that! 100 emails. I had no idea! I lost count around 51. Well, I suppose I should do something to celebrate...ooh! I'll say email 100 times!

{proceeds to say email 100 times, The Paper comes down}

Oo. I'm pa-I'm parched. {wheezes} I need a glass of water. {the screen creates a glass of water onscreen}

Fun Facts
*The DVD commentary for this episode reveals several interesting facts - originally, it would have been animated in the normal style, and would have told a different story, until the Brothers Chaps decided to re-write it halfway through. Originally, story elements included Strong Bad wearing a star shirt, and Marzipan attempting to do something about Homestar's awful fashion sense (his duckie shirt, and also in this version, a pair of sandals). She gets him a star shirt, and Strong Bad rips his own shirt off in protest, which is why nowadays, Strong Bad never wears a shirt.
*Present in the flashback are Mr. Bland and Señor, who haven't been seen since Marshmallow's Last Stand.
*The TV from the Discount Flashback Warehouse egg is from an old H*R.com main menu.
*The guitar the guy is holding in the Limozeen egg is the same guitar that Homestar Runner steals in Puppet Time!, a Gibson Explorer. The bass the other guy is holding is a Fender Jazz-Bass.
*While the Limozeen video is up, the links beneath it are still clickable.
*It is debatable whether the story in the book really "happened", since Strong Bad could be making it up. Homestar verifies the tale, but this may just be typical, dense Homestar behavior.
*This is the first time a character has mentioned Free Country, USA.
*The two e-mails in the Discount Flashback Warehouse egg are different town and band names.
*When Senor Cardgage/Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad says "Many combolations, Elizagerth", it's a reference to the credits in japanese cartoon.
*At the very beginning of the toon, the e-mail that Strong Bad starts to read (with the old Tandy 400-style text) before hitting the screen is the e-mail from some kinda robot, the first-ever Strong Bad Email.
*When he reads the Tandy e-mail, his accent is more like it is in the old cartoons (most notably, he pronounces "you" as "joo" a few times).
*The Strong Bad has a sign in his telegram room that states Loafing Not Permitted, a reference to the No Loafing sign. This also appears in #50, 50 emails.
*When Strong Bad gasps at the end of the e-mail, it is the same sound effect of the Dry Meal in 20X6 vs. 1936.
*The email was assigned the URL of "http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemailahundred.html," breaking the convention of the previous ninety-nine. This was done because of Not the 100th Email!!!.
*Strongbad first uses "grrl" (seen here as grrrl) in i she be. The word is also used in the Teen Girl Squad Mainpage and The House that Gave Sucky Treats.
*More proof that Strong Bad's boxing gloves are his hands; the small boxing gloves are referred to as his tiny hands.
*Old style Marzipan, Strong Sad and Strong Mad refer to the concept sketches.
*Old style Coach Z and Bubs refer to "Where My Hat is At?"
*Homestar says "I'm The Homestar Runner." This is a reference to the fact that, as pointed out in the original book, his original name was The Homestar Runner.
*Presumably the line "even stuff I just made up" is a reference to personal favorites, in which several made-up memories are included.
*Strong Bad couldn't have lost count at email 51 because in email 91 the intro is "Coming in at number 91, its, EMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIL". However it's possible that he could have said number 91 by coincidence.
*When the Compy said Strong Bad had answered 100 e-mails, that's not entirely true. He answered 2 in 50 emails, 2 more in 2 emails, and you could say he answered more than one in huttah! (although he didn't answer any in anything or mile). Depending on your definition of "answering" an email, he read extras in spring cleaning (although they were promptly deleted). So really, at the time of the hundredth e-mail, Strong Bad actually has answered more than 100 e-mails. That's also not counting the emails the Tandy 400 answered.
*The melty candy bar Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad holds up near the end appears to be a Clark Bar, judging by its wrapper. Or perhaps a "ZAGNUT" due to the visible "G" in the center.
*The Strong Bad appearing with half a mustache was inspired by a waiter The Brothers Chaps once encountered who sported the same odd facial hair style.
*To date this has the most easter eggs in a toon at a huge eight.
*Strong Bad is heard saying "Man, so cool" in the Senor Cardgage easter egg. He said the same thing in the email "kind of cool".
*The Cheat mashing play on a jambox also happened in "Everybody Knows It".
*When The Cheat jumps out of the egg Strong Bad says "Awesome! My very own a the Cheat!" but the text says "My very own the cheat!"
*Strong Bad actually says the word "E-mail" exactly 100 times.
**The Paper comes down during “e-mails” #38 through #40
**For #49 he distinctly says “e-MAIL-a”
**For #67 he quickly says “e-mail-mail-nahduhluh”
**For #72 he says “e-meh-meh-meh-meh-mail”
**"E-mails" #91 and #92 blend together so much that it sounds like “email--mail,” but if it was just one “e-mail” then there would only be 99, so it’s been accepted to be 2 separate “e-mails”
*The widescreen is a perfect 1.85:1 Academy aspect ratio.

DVD Version
*The Limozeen video is now in fullscreen and much higher quality. It also features a different background than the one on the site.
**As well, you can use your DVD player's Angle Button while watching the Limozeen clip to change the clip's background image. There are three seperate backgrounds in all.
* Due to it being widescreen, the characters in this email look a little stretched out from top to bottom, unless you are watching it on a widescreen TV. Computer monitors seem to have this problem as well.
*The DVD version features hidden creator's commentary. To access it, switch your DVD player's audio language selection while watching.

StrongBadEmail #100

The long-anticipated 100th Email has arrived! Jon from NH asks Strong Bad how long he has known Homestar Runner. It ends up as a big spoof on the original Homestar children's book, in WIDESCREEEEEEEEEEEEN!

Cast (In order of appearance): Strong Bad, Homestar Runner, Coach Z, Prince of Town, Strong Mad, Pom Pom, Bubs, Strong Sad, Marzipan, Mr. Bland, Señor, The Cheat, Limozeen (easter egg), Senor Cardgage/Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad (easter egg), The Strong Bad (easter egg)

{Starts reading. However, the text is in the style of Tandy, and it is in fact the very first e-mail he's ever done.}

{reading}

<pre>Hey there, Strong Bad!
I was wondering. How long have you
known Homestar? Is there some sort of
flashback that could describe how
and when you guys met?
Your Fan,
Jon, NH</pre>

{Instead of "New Hampshire," Strong Bad says "No Hamsters"}

STRONG BAD: Frame shift left! WOOOOOAAHHH! {the screen starts shifting left to get Homestar out of the shot}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: See ya after the flashback!

{We go to a picture of Strong Bad on the moon with a tennis racket. The drawing is in the style of the original children's book and we see that it's just a parody of that style. Although, the characters are still somewhat animated. Strong Bad doesn't read every little piece of text, so the text that's there that he doesn't read will be included in a parenthetical when it occurs}

STRONG BAD: Strong Bad meets the Homestar Runner.

{turns the page to a picture of just Strong Bad}

Everyone loves Strong Bad. He is an okay guy.

(turns the page to a picture of Strong Bad and Coach Z playing tennis on the moon}

One day Strong Bad was finishing up a game of tennis on the moon with his pal, the Coach Z. He won 1,000,000 to 3. "You see, 3 is clearly a smaller number than a million," said Strong Bad. "Ooooooh. Now I understand."

{turn the page to them flying down a rainbow from the moon to earth}

They flew on a sweet, sweet rainbow bridge back down to Free Country USA.

{turn the page to Coach Z holding a towel and talking to Strong Bad}

"I'ma go shower up!" said the Coach Z. "Gross!" said Strong Bad. "Shut up!"

{turn the page to see Strong Bad walking toward a giant pink egg with yellow spots}

Walking home, Strong Bad came upon a big ol' egg. "Waaaaaaaaagh!"

{turn the page to a closer view of Strong Bad and the egg}

"I wonder what's inside," thought tiny-handed Strong Bad.

{turn the page to see Homestar behind the egg wearing a yellow shirt with a duck on it}

"Hello! How do you like my egg, Mr. Strong Bad?" said a voice from behind. "Who the crap are you, Duckshirt?" asked No-shirt. "I'm The Homestar Runner!" said the duckshirt. "Some folk say I'm a terrific athlete."

{turn the page to a closer view of the scene}

"Well I folk say you're a terrific liar!" {said Strong Bad.} "This is plainly my egg. {in a King of Town voice} "What's all the commotion about?"

{turn the page to zoom out to see the Prince of Town looking at Strong Bad and Homestar}

...said the svelt, young Prince of Town. "And who's this weirdo in the duckie shirt?" "I'm The Homestar Runner! Some folk say I'm a terrific {athelete!" said Duckshirt.} "Prancibald over here says this egg belongs to him, when I found it first."

{turn the page to a closeup of the Prince of Town}

"We'll settle this with a ten-step footrace."

{turn the page to see a bunch of the gang, including some characters from the original children's book, watching Strong Bad and Homestar at the start line of a race}

{turn the page to see Strong Bad and Homestar at the line and Marzipan giving the startoff.}

"Ready-and-set-and-go-now." {they start running, with Homestar counting} "One, two, three, four, five, six..." {Strong Bad has tiny steps and is way behind} "Keep up the pace. Gotta break 4:40"

{turn the page to see silhouettes of everyone, and Homestar has reached the end}

"Ten!" "And the Duckie-man is the winner. Loser gets the egg."

{turn the page to see Homestar up front and Strong Bad in the distance with the egg}

"WHAAAAT??!!?&,:;%${}" "Hooray a-for me!!"

{turn the page to see Strong Mad holding the egg over his head while Strong Bad watches}

And so Strong Mad helped to break open the egg. {Strong Mad tosses the egg}

{turn the page to see the egg broke and a bunch of fishsticks pour out}

And out poured a lifetime supply of fishsticks. And a The Cheat!!!!

{The Cheat springs out of the egg, turn the page to give him his very own page. Turn the page again to see Strong Bad and the Cheat with the egg in the background.}

"Awesome! My very own a The Cheat!"

{turn the page to see everyone hanging out by a boombox}

And so, The Cheat mashed play on an extremely expensive jambox with high-speed dubbing and everybody put their weight on it! {The Cheat plays music which happens to be a remix of the original intro music for H*R.com, and everyone dances)

{cut back to Strong Bad sitting at the stool, talking to Homestar, who's sitting on the ground listening to the tale}

{proceeds to say email 100 times, The Paper comes down}

Oo. I'm pa-I'm parched. {wheezes} I need a glass of water. {the screen creates a glass of water onscreen}

DVD Version
*The Limozeen video is now in fullscreen and much higher quality. It also features a different background than the one on the site.
**As well, you can use your DVD player's Angle Button while watching the Limozeen clip to change the clip's background image. There are three seperate backgrounds in all.
Mark Lemke

HypocrisyofCake: Formatting

Lemke is a word that appears in Homestar Runner cartoons now and again.

Origin
Taken from an interview with The Brothers Chaps

...there was an old local grocery store commercial, and we live in Atlanta, and it advertised the Atlanta Braves. It was like, “the Atlanta Braves hit home runs, and you can hit a home run with savings here!” And so there was this player named Mark Lemke, and they said something like “All star second baseman for the Braves.” And our friend knows nothing about sports, and so he would always do his old timey radio impression of this guy, and not knowing any positions in baseball or whatever, he’d just be like, “Homestar Runner for the Braves.” And we were just like, “Homestar Runner? That’s the best thing we’ve ever heard!”

Mark Lemke was a regular for the Braves from 1990 through 1997 and no longer plays in the majors. According to MLB's website, he was never an all-star.

Appearances
* When you go to Main Page 14 and let the shower get all fogged up, the word "LEMKE" will appear.
* Also, in the Homestar Runner Theme Song you see Pom Pom and Homestar crack open a couple of cold ones in a nondescript room that has a pennant on the wall reading "LEMKE".
* In "Everybody to the Limit", when the words "come on" flash on the Visor Robot, just before the scene changes, "come on" changes to "lemke".
*In stunt double, the newspaper has a picture of Mark Lemke.

STRONG BAD: {singing} And The Stick would be this big old tree that'd try to eat everyone except The Cheat and me --

THE KING OF TOWN: I hate peas!
MODESTLY HOT HOMSAR: DaAaAa, I'm forever your girl!
STRONG BAD: Thank you! Thank you! Alright! This next one is the fourteenth song on my forty-second album. It's called--
{Cut to Strong Sad standing to the right of the computer desk dressed in a light blue tunic wearing horns and a tail}

STRONG SAD: Hey Strong Bad--

STRONG BAD: {off screen} WHOA! Can it be true?
{Cut to group shot with Strong Bad and Strong Sad standing to the right of the computer. Strong Bad is still standing on his stool.}

STRONG BAD: Did Homestar Runner call it quits? The King of Town, pea-buried alive?! The Poopsmith speaketh?

STRONG SAD: No... Calm down, spazz. I'm going to the Clash of the Titans Con, dressed up as Calibos, remember? I was just gonna ask if you still wanted that bust of Bubo?

STRONG BAD: Oh, um. Right. Of course. {coughs} {speaking quietly} yeah I still want that bust of Bubo.

STRONG SAD: Ok, bye weirdo. What are you standing on that stool for anyway?

STRONG BAD: For your information, I was {pause} checking on the lights, Strong Sad. We got that recessed lighting, y'know. Yup, everything looks great.

{cut back to the computer where Strong Bad continues his reply}

STRONG BAD: Yeah, things would be different alright. Though I'm a little disappointed in what I came up with for Homsar. Modestly hot my eye! I think my imagination's broke. {stops typing} Lemme try and think up the {types again} Best Thing Ever. Umm... Beef... stew... Yup it's busted alright. I'm gonna go... place. {gets up from stool}
StrongBadEmail #81

Somebody asks Strong Bad what a date with Homestar and Marzipan is like. The chilling result gives everyone the jibblies.

Cast (in order of appearance): Strong Bad, Homestar Runner, Marzipan, Strong Mad, Strong Sad, The Cheat

Transcript
STRONG BAD: {mimicking typing noises} Dub dub dub dub dub dub dub dub dub dub dub dub DIB! Ticka.

{reading}

<pre>Dear Strong Bad,

Here's a question for ya. What do you
think happens when Homestar and
Marzipan go on a date?

Dynomite
Boston, MA</pre>

{Strong Bad doesn't say MA, he says "And the state Boston's in."}

STRONG BAD: {typing} You know I've done a lotta thinking on the subject. And yes, Boston, you guessed it, it gimme the jibblies. So in order to watch from a proper, safe distance I made up the {begins running a program and says} Homestar Runner and Marzipan Extra Real Dating Sim XR! {the game loads up} Using the most state-of-the-art polygoniest technologies, we can see what an actual date with Marzipan and Homestar Runner would be like without the risk of personal injury. Or vomiting. I think it would go a little something... a-like-a-dis-a.

{We're in the game. 3D, polygon-heavy images of Marzipan and Homestar are there, each with different options for things they can say. Strong Bad clicks on various words.}

MARZIPAN: DUH!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: FUH! DUH! DUH!

MARZIPAN: BUH! DUH! FUH! Strong Bad is on point!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: FUH!

STRONG BAD: {back to typing} So that gives you a pretty good idea of the lurking horrors. But to really experience it firsthand we'd need to like, get the Cheat to hide some kinda hidden camera, you know, in maybe that marshmallow place they always go to. So, we did. Let's check it out!

{cut to a TV labeled "Strong Bad's New Secret Security Camera Monitor." It turns on, and we see a low-quality black-and-white feed of Homestar and Marzipan on a date.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Okay, okay, okay! Let's play again! What do you think I'll say next? Sid Hoffman, or Sid Frenchman?

MARZIPAN: This is the dumbest game I've ever played.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Aw, c'mon! You're just being sore because you're losin'.

MARZIPAN: Okay, I'll go with Sid Hoffman.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Sid Hoffffff-Frenchman! Sorry! You lose again. I said Sid Frenchman.

MARZIPAN: Homestar, you said Sid Hoffrenchman. That was not even a choice.

STRONG BAD: Oh, geez. I don't think I can handle much more of this. Let's see what else we got on the tube.

{Strong Bad changes the channel to CAM 2, where we see the camera being smashed repeatedly in Strong Sad's face by Strong Mad. It turns out to be a hidden camera in Strong Mad's ring.}

STRONG SAD: Ow! Please! Quit! Punching! Me in the face! Since when did you start wearing a class ring?

STRONG BAD: Oh, beautiful!

STRONG SAD: With a camera in it?

STRONG BAD: Nice work, big bro! {changes to CAM 3, a view of Strongbadia.} Everything seems to be in order in Strongbadia. {The Cheat walks into the sight of the camera.} Oh! Perfect timing. Check out my security counter-measures. {The Cheat touches the tire and is instantly electrocuted. A cardboard cut-out of a bear holding a shark springs up and the Cheat screams and runs away.} Bwahaha! Look at the little guy run! The Cheat totally freaks out whenever he sees a bear holding a shark. {Strong Bad switches back to CAM 1. Homestar is now kicking Marzipan in the shins.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {kicking Marzipan under the table} Hey Marzipan, can you feel that?

MARZIPAN: Yeah.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: What IS that?

MARZIPAN: Well, you're kicking me in the shins.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, I think I'd remember something like that.

STRONG BAD: Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you guys. We also switched Homestar Runner's gourmet coffee with super mud! {Homestar takes a sip of his "coffee" and spits it all into Marzipan's face. He then continues to kick her.} Whoa-ho-ho! That's great! {resumes typing} Marzipan's gotta face fulla super mud and I'm feelin' fine. The paper, would you bring this fine email to a close?

{The Paper comes down.}

STRONG BAD: I gotta go reset that bear-shark. You guys can play that game if you want.

{Strong Bad types "a> run hsamerdsxr.eve" and leaves.}
Summary
Strong Bad Email #95

Strong Bad loses a bet with Homestar Runner, and he has to eat dinner with The King of Town.

Cast (in order of appearance): Strong Bad, Homestar Runner, The King of Town, Marzipan (easter egg)

Transcript
STRONG BAD: Come on, big money! Big money! And.....email!

{Reading email}

<pre>Dear Strong Bad,
Do you ever go over to The King of
Town's place for dinner? If so,
what's it like?

Chris
Ann Arbor, Michigan</pre>

STRONG BAD: (typing) Well Chris Ann, I hate to admit it but uh yeah, there was this one time when I went over to The King of Town's castle. Seems I placed a bet with one Homestar Runner some Tuesday night.

{cuts to Strong Bad and Homestar Runner in the field at night}

STRONG BAD: So hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on. Let me get this uh-straight: You're betting me that you're cool.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yep, I'm cool.

STRONG BAD: And if you're not cool, you have to change your name to Kevin DuBrow. But if you are cool, I gotta spend the night over at The King of Town's?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: That's the deal, man. The total deal.

STRONG BAD: You're goin' down, son.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: No ways.

STRONG BAD: Alright! Let's see you be's cool.

{Homestar pulls out a pair of sunglasses and slowly puts them on. He pauses a moment for the effect to sink in.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: 'Sup?

{Strong Bad takes this in}

STRONG BAD: Oh, crap!!

{Cuts to The King of Town's castle. Strong Bad rings the doorbell.}

THE KING OF TOWN: Come on in.

STRONG BAD: {peeks out from behind the door} Is the coast clear?

THE KING OF TOWN: The coast is toast!

STRONG BAD: {comes out from behind the door. He is wearing a big fake beard that seems to be made out of a piece of bark} Alright, let's get this over with! {takes off beard and enters}

{The two walk over to the The King of Town's pantry.}

THE KING OF TOWN: So here's all my food stuffs. You want some Pork Snagglins? Or a can of Butter-da or anything?

STRONG BAD: King, I think that stuff's for automotive use only.

THE KING OF TOWN: It's possible. Ooh! And check it out! This is my 200 pound bag of Awwww Gratin potatoes! It's an '83!

STRONG BAD: Yeah, that sucks. Look, do you have any video games or like, R-rated movies?

THE KING OF TOWN: I have a video game. It's the stand-up kind even! Like from an arcade!

STRONG BAD: No way! Really? Why didn't you say so, you creepy old man? Let's play it!!

{The game turns out to be "Typing Tutor".}

STRONG BAD: Uh... never mind.

THE KING OF TOWN: How many WPMs can you get up to? That's words per minute, you know.

STRONG BAD: You're about to get 175 fists per stomach if I'm not eating ice cream inside of one minute!

THE KING OF TOWN: Ooh!

STRONG BAD {narrating as they scarf up ice cream. Flavors we see are choco-gravy and maybe mint?}: So in the end it didn't turn out half bad. I got to eat a crap load of ice cream.

THE KING OF TOWN: Want another scoop of casserole flavored?

STRONG BAD: Yeah! Yeah! Spoon it up! {narrating} And I left an open can of mayonnaise in his ventilation ducts. {We see a shot from the interior of a duct as Strong Bad puts in a can of "army-style" mayonnaise.} Oh, and Typing Tutor isn't actually that bad a game if you play it the right way. {Cuts to outside the castle, where Strong Bad is hoisting Typing Tutor over The King of Town's head.} Get ready for fun!

THE KING OF TOWN: {blindfolded} I'm ready!

{cuts back to Compy}

STRONG BAD: Just goes to show you Chris Ann, big losers are what you make of them. For instance, I'm gonna go make an indentured servant out of Strong Sad. And now, the get up noise. {We hear the chair move as Strong Bad gets up and leaves. The Paper comes down.}

:THE KING OF TOWN: {voiceover} They tell me not to, but I still drinks it! {the second clause appears at the top in capitals as he says it.}
:DISCLAIMER MAN: {mumbles unintelligbly; the words "BUTTER-DA IS NOH HUSH A BUSH PUSH LEOPOLD" appear at the bottom of the screen}
*Click "them" to see more of Homestar.
:{Homestar (still in shades) and Marzipan are standing in the field at night.}
:HOMESTAR RUNNER: 'Sup?
:MARZIPAN: Homestar, quit saying that.
:HOMESTAR RUNNER: My name's not Homestar. It's Kevin DuBrow.
:MARZIPAN: I thought that was if you lost the bet.
:HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, right. Never mind! 'Sup?
:MARZIPAN: Homestar, that is not cool.
:HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yes it is. Strong Bad said so.
:MARZIPAN: Well, if Strong Bad told you to jump off a bridge--
:HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yes!

Fun Facts
*"Come on, big money! Big money!" at the opening is a reference to the classic game show Press Your Luck. Contestants often said "Big money! Big money! No whammies!" before hitting the buzzer.
**"Big money!" is also often heard on the game show Wheel of Fortune.

*The King of Town has a lot of food from previous episodes. There is...
**Schenectady Crispies (from labor day)
**"Potate" Chips (from morning routine and cheatday)
**Fluffy Puff Mayo (from A Decemberween Pageant)
**Cocoa Butter (from suntan)
**Animal Phat (from suntan)

*Although the King of Town found a lifetime supply of fishsticks in flashback, he didn't have any in his pantry.

*"The coast is toast" is the tagline for the movie Volcano.

*Kevin DuBrow is a member of the metal band Quiet Riot. Although Homestar and Strong Bad pronounce his last name as if it rhymes with "plow," it actually rhymes with "snow."

*"Typing Tutor" was a computer game whose purpose was, unsurprisingly, to teach people how to type. The "arcade Typing Tutor" in the email doesn't even have a keyboard; it looks more like a Space Invaders clone but with letters instead of aliens.

*The Typing Tutor Turbo game plays the same sound that plays when you start Revenge of the King. This sound is based on The King of Town DVD music.

*At the loading page of this email, the letters of the word "loading" do not blink.

*A shooting star goes over Homestar's head as he says "My name's not Homestar" in the "them" easter egg.

*An indentured servant is like a slave, but he/she only has to work for his/her master for 2 to 7 years.

DVD Version
{The Compy appears to be dusty with a little cobweb on the top left corner}

STRONG BAD: Whoa. Guess it's been a while. Sorry about that, compy. Need to get some... Endust.

{Strong Bad reads}

<pre>Dear Strong Bad,
I was curious as to whether or not
Strong Badia had an official army.
Your Homeboy,
Hank Toler</pre>

STRONG BAD: {typing} Does Strongbadia have an army? Strongbadia needs no army, Hankatola. Me and that one big guy and that one little guy... we're a one man army. Er, a three man one-y. Three-to-one-marny? What I mean to say is, what do we need an army for when the three of us pretty much do as we please? I mean, it's not like there's anyone around to oppose us.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {suddenly appears wearing a bowl on his head and carrying a large spoon} Alright, maggot! Fall it out. Colonel {he pronounces it as written} Homestar Runner is recruiting the most elite team of crack commandos to invade Strongbadia. Do you has what it takes to join the Homestarmy? Will you bring a sack lunch and some orange slices for me and serve your country?
Will you, stupid?!

STRONG BAD: Um... no. I don't really have any interest in invading my own--

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Ten-hut! Draft dodger, eh? We'll see if those trees you're always hugging save you when Gordon Lightfoot's creeping round your back stair. Company... Halt! Backwards... March!

{Homestar marches backwards off screen}

STRONG BAD: What in the-

{Homestar sticks his head back in}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, and if you change your mind, and you wanna trade in that skirt you're wearing for a nice pair of camos, we're having a pep rally up at the stick in 0-15 minutes.

STRONG BAD: Wow. I thought I knew what ridiculous was, until this day. This definitely merits some further reconnaissance. The Cheat!

THE CHEAT: Emeh! {sounds like "I'm here"}

STRONG BAD: The Cheat, I need you to find out--

THE CHEAT: {sounding a little upset} Omee mah meh. {sounds like "I'm not listening.."}

STRONG BAD: Ohhh. Don't make me call you that. It's not a good commando name.

THE CHEAT: {forcefully} Memamo meh! {sounds like "Commando name!"}

STRONG BAD: Ugh, all riiight. {reluctantly} Firebert. I need you to find out what the crap Homestar Runner is up to at the stick in 0-15 minutes.

THE CHEAT: Meh, meer! {sounds like "Yes, Sir!"}

{scene changes to The Stick}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Are you sick and tired of playing second-fiddle to a two bit wrestle man and his yellow dog?

CROWD: YEAH!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Are you ready to fight alongside your Colonel {pronounced as written} and give your five bucks to the Homestarmy if it comes to that?

CROWD: YEAH!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Do you wanna paint that fence some other cool color and put a fake beard on that tire?

{Silence}

{Switches to view of Homestar's audience, showing it consists of the Painting of a guy with a big knife, Strong Sad holding a tapedeck, Homsar, and a popcorn popper.}

STRONG SAD: Oh, sorry. Forgot to rewind.

{Strong Sad rewinds tape deck and presses play}

CROWD: YEAH!

HOMSAR: DaAaAaAa! You gotta get yours. I gotta get mine.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: All right then, maggots! Lets get out there and invade us some serious Strongbadia! Company... GO!

{The Homestarmy marches off and The Cheat appears from behind The Stick. The view now shifts to Strongbadia where Strong Bad and Strong Mad are wondering about badminton}

STRONG BAD: Yeah, I don't know. Maybe there is a goodminton.

{The Homestarmy marches up. Homsar forgets to stop marching and walks right off the other side of the screen.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Strong Bad, so I see you decided to join the other side, eh?

STRONG BAD: What joining?? I am the other side!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Ten-Hut! Prepare to feel the flouride sting of the Homestarmy! Strongbadia... will be ours!

STRONG BAD: No it won't. We're about to play some badminton. So.. no invasion.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh. So I see. {pause} Retreat!! Fall back men! We're in over our heads!

STRONG SAD: Hold the line! Hold the liiiine!

STRONG BAD: And take this stupid thing with you.

{Strong Bad kicks the popcorn popper. A crash is heard off screen.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Bennedetto! Don't you die on me Bennedetto! Not on my watch! Don't you give up! {Tearing up} You never gave me the five bucks...

{Cut back to Strong Bad's computer}

STRONG BAD: {Typing} And that, my dear Hankerin', is why Strongbadia will never need an army, though we are in dire need of a copy of the official rules of badminton. No idea what we're doing. None.

{The Paper comes down.}

STRONG BAD: {mumbling} Firebert. Terrible!
Easter Eggs
*Near the beginning, click "Three-to-one Marny" to see a handbook containing the rules to playing 3-person marny, as written by the guy who wrote the book (Lem Sportsinterviews) in the Strong Bad Email studying. Click the rulebook to read it.

*At the end, click on "No idea" to see a scene at Marzipan's House.
:Homestar is walks up to a microwave.
:HOMESTAR RUNNER: Mrs. Benedetto, my name is Colonel {still pronounced as written} Homestar Runner. I served with Frank in the Homestary at the battle of Strongbadia. I hate to give you this news... Frank was one of the finest frigging soldiers I ever met! And he still kinda owes me five bucks. So, if you could just... fork it over...

*Also at the end, click "army" to see a Firebert action figure. It's reminiscient of the action figures in the Strong Bad Email action figure, and later appears in the Cheat Commandos cartoon.

Fun Facts
*The Painting of a guy with a big knife was first introduced in i love you, then again in CGNU.

*Homestar says that the enemy is Gordon Lightfoot, a Canadian singer. He says "...the trees you're always huggin' comes to save you when Gordon Lightfoot starts creepin' around your back stair". This is a lyric from one his most famous songs, "Sundown". It goes like this:
:"Sundown, you'd better take care, when I find you've been creepin' 'round my back stair"

*The box Homestar is standing on at the stick says "Twelve Of Them". This is a reference to fingers, in which Homestar stands on a box which bears the words "Eleven Soaps".

*It looks like Strong Bad has finished the painting of a guy with a big knife. (In i love you he didn't paint the bottom few inches.)

*Except for the popcorn popper (Frank), everyone in the Homestarmy is wearing a cereal bowl as a helmet.

*The painting walks into Strongbadia by itself. Homsar carries the popcorn popper.

*Homsar keeps walking off of the screen when the Homestarmy arrives to invade Strongbadia, most likely because the cereal bowl is covering his eyes.

*The popcorn popper (Frank Bennedetto) within the ranks of the Homestarmy is most likely a West Bend Hot Air Popcorn Popper 01568 Popcorn Maker.

*This, local news, and flag day are the only times we see Free Country, USA with a grey sky.

*Frank Bennedetto may have been the only casualty of the Battle of Strongbadia, but he may not have died. Homestar led Mrs. Benedetto to believe that he was dead, but the appropiate term is more 'missing in action'. You see him behind the fence in the Strong Bad Is In Jail Cartoon, and actually back in the army in the Labor Dabor puppet thing.

*Mrs. Bennedetto (the microwave) has the regular microwave numbers, but also a pound sign and an asterisk, like on a phone.

*When Strong Bad says it's been a while he was referring to the fact that this was the first update in a few weeks.

*Although Strong Sad says that he forgot to rewind after the second "crowd cheer" at the pep rally, the rewind sound does play after the second cheer.

*This is the first appearance of any of the Cheat Commandos, that being Firebert (aka, the Cheat.)

*The fact that Firebert is not a good commando name is referenced again in the Cheat Commandos toon "Shopping for Danger", when Firebert is ordered to "stay here and think of a better commando name".

Fun Facts
*This is only Teen Girl Squad issue that doesn't have Strong Bad saying "It's Over!" at the end.
*MSG stands for monosodium glutamate, a flavor enhancer commonly added to soups, canned vegetables, processed meats, and Asian cuisine. According to the Food and Drug Administration, MSG has a limited number of symptoms, usually among people who may eat a large dose (greater than 3 grams) on an empty stomach and people who have severe asthma. The short-term reactions known as MSG Symptom Complex can involve numbness, tingling, burning sensation, chest pain, headache, rapid heartbeat, nausea, weakness, and drowsiness. MSG and other glutamates usually affect only the nervous system, and claims of deteriorating stomach lining due to MSG consumption are unsubstantiated.
*When What's Her Face meets the other girls after leaving the thrift store, one of her shoes appears to be torn, reavealing what appear to be toes. However, in issue number 5, the other girls are at the beach and it appears as if they have none.
Fun Facts
*The muscular guy who shows up with the Presidents is musician Henry Rollins (formerly of the punk band Black Flag). A photo of Hank can be found here.
*Henry Rollins has tattoos of the Black Flag and Einsturzende Neubauten logos.
*"Cigarrette" is misspelled.
*The boat that hit cheerleader is named S.S. Inevitable.
*The mailbox has "W. Herface" on it.
*The stamp on the postcard has an outline of Abe Lincoln.
*It's possible Henry Rollins is with the Presidents because his real name is Henry Garfield, similar to President James A. Garfield.
*It is impossible to do a late three sixty shove it to boneless. A boneless is a variation of an ollie, and therefore would have to come first.
*This Teen Girl Squad issue subtley implements the "birds getting killed" tradition by the mailbox eating the postcard with birds on it.
*This is the only issue where What's Her Face doesn't get hurt. Unless you count her feelings...
Strong Bad Email #34

Strong Bad uses the Cheat's computer, "Tangerine Dreams", to answer an email. He gets asked about his weirdest dream.

Cast (in order of appearance): Strong Bad, The Cheat

Transcript
{The Cheat is typing away at his computer. Strong Bad shoves The Cheat away.}

STRONG BAD: Out of the way The Cheat! I gotta use your computer.

{He sits in front of the computer and presumably types &quot;strongbad_email.exe&quot; but nothing appears on the screen.}

STRONG BAD: Time to check the email... time to check the email... TIME... TO... CHECK... THE... EMAIL! Er, The Cheat. I'm having some problems.

{The Cheat comes and stands beside Strong Bad.}

THE CHEAT: Hunuwinitw.

STRONG BAD: Your computer has too much computer in it and not enough typewriter.

{The Cheat clicks the "SB Email" icon and the email window appears on the screen.}

STRONG BAD: Okay, here we go.

<pre>what is the weirdest dream
you've ever had?

-marie</pre>

{The Cheat clicks the Reply button in the toolbar.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Okay, Marie, I'll tell you, but you gotta understand...the day before, all i had to eat was like...13 pudding pops, okay? So the whole dream was just a picture of...well, lemme show you.

{Strong Bad pulls up a picture on-screen of the map of the United States in tight, white, underdrawers.}

THE CHEAT: Muwh!

STRONG BAD: The United States in tight, white, brand underdrawers. Briefly, let's discuss what this dream means. No really, you guys can interpret this one how you want. Me, I blame the pudding pops. Okay, so... maybe I shouldn't have shared that with you guys. Uh... see you next week.

{The Paper comes down.}

STRONG BAD: How's it going, Texas?

Fun Facts
*If you look closely at The Cheat's screen you will see an icon called "So Cool a Flash." This was the subject line for the popular Klez Virus.
**In japanese cartoon, Strong Bad says a Haiku at the start of the email in which he says "So cool an email", which is again probably a reference to the virus.
**Also, the window in which the US in underwear appears is called "So Weird a Dream" -- another obvious reference.

*The Cheat is typing before Strong Bad pushes him out of the way, but when the computer screen is shown moments later, all that's there is the Mac desktop. There's nothing that The Cheat could have been typing into.

*Note that the state of Louisiana's underpants are only halfway on (and they are on sideways). It's likely a vague reference to Mardi Gras and its reputation for drunken nudity and general wildness.

*In the top-left corner of The Cheat's computer is the little rainbow star that appears beside the contrast buttons on the Tandy 400.

*According to The Brothers Chaps, the weird dream was one Mike actually had. He drew it up as a visual aid for Matt, and it served as the inspiration for the email.

*The phrase "Time to check the email" and the tone in which Strong Bad says it is likely a reference to the old 1980s Dunkin' Donuts commercials where the Dunkin' Donuts man said "Time to make the donuts" in a very similar sing-song tone.

Stiny asks why Strong Bad's name doesn't end in "man."

Cast (in order of appearance): Strong Bad, The Cheat

Transcript
STRONG BAD: All these... emails... I don't understand.

<pre>Dear Strong bad:

Why is it that your superhero name does not end
in "man" just like Superman, Spiderman. etc, etc...

Your friend

Stiny</pre>

STRONG BAD: Umm... {typing} I don't think you're in a very good position to be criticizing people's names, STINY!! I mean, what kind of a name is Stiny anyways? It sounds like some supervillain's little sidekick that he's always ordering around you know. {stops typing} Like, "STINY! GET ME A DANISH!!" {An image with Strong Bad drawn as Strong Badman accompanies this} or "STINY! WHO SPILLED COFFEE ALL OVER THE PLANS FOR MY DEATH RAY?!" {Another image of Strong Badman accompanies this} Stiny, eh... {clears screen, resumes typing} Naw, you know what? I'll change my name to Strong Badman if you agree to be my sidekick: Li'l Stiny. And you can wear a little mask and a little cape...

{The camera zooms back and we see The Cheat appear wearing a mask covering his eyes and a little cape.}

STRONG BAD: Hey The Cheat... er, just doing an email.

THE CHEAT: Hrinun.

STRONG BAD: What? No! Of course you're still my sidekick!

THE CHEAT: Uhuynidah.

STRONG BAD: Yeah, that cape looks great on you. Look, I was speaking hypothetically.

THE CHEAT: Uhuysuwituwa!

STRONG BAD: Oh come on, don't give me that!

THE CHEAT: Ptawoh!!!

{The Cheat walks away angrily.}

STRONG BAD: Ah, The Cheat!

{A "Strong Badman" comic book appears on the screen with a picture of Strong Badman drawn on it (see above). On the bottom of the page, there's a blurb that reads "CLICK HERE TO EMAIL STRONG BAD!!" Click on the text to email him.}

Fun Facts
*Unbeknownst to viewers of this email, Stiny is the name of Homestar creator Craig Zobel's little brother.
*The Paper doesn't come down at the end of this email. Instead, a comic book appears with the usual "Click here to email strong bad" at the bottom
*You can still click on the contrast buttons when Strong Bad is talking to The Cheat, but nothing will happen.
*Strong Bad's floppys don't have a name.
*The "No Loafing" sign is in the wrong place.
*The little black box with Strong Bad's face in the corner of the comic book is a reference to old Marvel Comics that did the same thing with Spider-Man's face.
*"All these... emails... I don't understand.", is a reference to the Elton John classic "Rocketman" (another "-man" name), as performed by William Shatner at the 1981 Science Fiction Awards (as mentioned in the DVD commentary). One line of the song is, "All this science I don't understand..." The intonation is dead on. Footage of the performance is available on the Net; it's classic Shatner cheesiness.

DVD Version
*The DVD version has a hidden creators' commentary. Just switch your DVD's audio language selection during this email.

Commentary Transcript
(Commentary by: Mike Chapman, Matt Chapman)

MATT: That's a reference to Shatner performing Rocketman-

MIKE: That's true

MATT: -at the 1981 Science Fiction...

MIKE: Science Fiction Awards, yes.

MATT: Video Awards or whatever. Um, so THIS one, it was great. We, um... I remember, we finished this, we worked on it some at my Uncle John's house in Winnemac, Indiana

MIKE: Some at grandpa's

MATT: And we finished it up

MIKE: Aunt Dean's old room.

MATT: In Aunt Dean's old room, and there was nothing there. We could wax the floor that day. So it's this room with this old, that old, like, 2 inch thick wallpaper. And, uh, with some pink print.

MIKE: Pink flowers, yeah

MATT: Yeah. And, just, we brought a TV tray and finished it on this laptop that kept crashing Flash 5. It took us forever to finish it. And, uh, did we, I wonder if you have that picture somewhere, 'cause I remember you took a picture-

MIKE: Yeah, I think I do.

MATT: -'cause we were going to make it look like, the uh, say this is our office. Just this giant, empty old- old lady's room with me and Mike. The laptop. How about those white circles The Cheat has for eyes?

MIKE: Is that the first No Loafing sign?

MATT: Uhh, maybe.

MIKE: I dunno.

MATT: I don't know if processing- was processing around yet?

MIKE: Uh, yeah

MATT: 'Cause I think that's where it first appeared.

Fun Facts
*Matt's talk of processing is a reference to the Email Processing Room (where, coincidentally, the No Loafing sign does NOT make an appearance)

HypocrisyofCake: Revised accuracy of fun fact

StrongBadEmail #110

Allison wonders what a Strong Bad television series would be like.

Cast (in order of appearance): Strong Bad, The Cheat, Homsar, The King of Town

Transcript
{We see Strong Bad at the Compy 386 playing Peasant's Quest. He has a score of -38 and is in the area with Kerrek.}

STRONG BAD: Uh, let's see here... {typing} Make friends with Kerrek. {A message pops up. It reads "The Kerrek says he has enough friends already. And he doesn't like your short, short pants." His score also drops to -40.}

STRONG BAD: What the!? (presses enter} Um... {typing} Buy Kerrek a cold one. {Kerrek smashes him on the head. There is another message. It reads "The Kerrek is a Teetotaller and is offended by your offer. He pounds your head into the ground. You dead." His score also drops to -45.}

STRONG BAD: What? Oh man... Stupid game! {types "quit." a message says "You quitter."} I guess I should do the thing that I do. {pulls up the a> sign and types "strongbad_email.exe"} {Reading}

<pre>Coolest guy ever - - - Strong Bad,
I've been wondering if you ever
thought of making your own television
series? Kids everywhere would love
you, and your awesomeness.

Allison , NJ</pre>

{instead of saying "- - -", he mumbles "henna" three times. After reading his own name, he stops reading and says, "Whoa! Three hennas! Must be an important one!" Then he continues reading. After the comma, he says "unnecessary comma," and he pronounces "Allison" as "All is on"}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Television?!! Kids?!! Wait, do you people think I'm intended for children? Like, the littlest, tiniest babies? You know, that watch those shows on public television. I don't think I'm cut out for that type of sugarjob.

{Cut to a piece of yellow paper used for teaching Kindergartners writing. Strong Bad is super-imposed on it with a bazooka gun, a monster with horns, a bunny with fangs, and a creature that resembles a man sticking its tongue out are drawn in crayon around him.}

STRONG BAD: {Smiling beatifically} Okay, kids, we're gonna play "Where's The Cheat?". Can you say, "a-The Cheat"?

KIDS: {half incoherent} The Cheat. {one child mumbles} Christopher Columbus.

STRONG BAD: Not good enough. F minus minus. {"F--" appears on the screen. A buzz sound is heard. Cut back to Strong Bad. Behind him are a tree and an open box. A toilet is in front of him.} All right, dumb children. {rubs his hands together} Find The Cheat! {The Cheat comes out from behind the box.}

KIDS: {say things like "There he is," or "Right there." They continue saying this.}

STRONG BAD: Um, no, he's behind the box. {Turns around and points to The Cheat} No, uh, he's not even behind the box, he's barely obscured by the box. {turns around} Look, The Cheat is behind the freaking box!! {Kids stop talking and the music soundtrack screeches to a halt. Strong Bad comes closer to the viewer.} HE'S BEHIND THE BOX! I'LL KILL YOU!! I'LL KILL ALL OF YOUR DOGS!!(1) {Cut back to Strong Bad at the Compy 386}

<!-- It's dogs, not dolls. Please see discussion. -->
STRONG BAD: So, you can see how that might be less than pleasant. What with all the letter writing and the angry mothers and the subsequent stringing me up in town square for all to see. But you know who's a natural for that sorta thing? None other than America's favourite blue midget Homestar: Homsar!!

{Cut to an all-white scene. Homsar comes through a faraway door. He walks closer to the viewer and stops.}

KIDS: What do you know, Haddi-man?

MAN: {As the words are sung, they are shown one by one at the bottom of the viewer's screen. Homsar rides by in a boat with a flag. The background is green with flowers. His shirt says "if you lived here you'd be home"} We'll have an adventure, and several long trips. We'll make some new friends {Children appear behind Homsar} and maybe get a bite to eat!! {An orange with "abc" on it appears behind Homsar. A lot of Homsars now appear and disappear.} All 'cause we say, {A red Homsar with a flag appears. White liquid spills onto the screen. A logo that says "Whaddaya know, Haddi-man? with a Homsar on it appears.}

KIDS: What do you know, Haddi-man?

HOMSAR: DaAaAaA! I'm a trendy totebag!

{Cut to a tan scene. Homsar disappears and reappears in various places, making raspberry noises. When he stops, "g" appears in front of him.}

KIDS: A "G"!

HOMSAR: I'm not gonna lie to you, that's a healthy piece of real estate!

KIDS: A "G"!

{Cut to a purple background with a person playing a guitar on a chair wearing sneakers. As the words are sung, they appear on the screen.}

MAN: Stave it off, 1-2-3, and now you can count to three.

HOMSAR: That's a real popular song! Who wants to hear of it fifty times more?

KIDS: {shouts of approval}

{Cut to a purple place. Now we see two of the guitar-playing people, one superimposed over the other. Again, as the words are sung, they appear on the screen.}

MAN: Stave it off, 1-2-3, and now you can count to three.

{One of the guitarists is suddenly upside-down. The song repeats.}

MAN: Stave it off, 1-2-3, and now you can count to three.

{Cut back to the Compy.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Good gravy. I've got two words for the children that are raised on that crap: HELD. BACK. ...REPEATING THE THIRD GRADE. LOW STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES. I GUESS THIS WAS MORE THAN TWO WORDS. THE PAPER, PLEASE TAKE US HOME.

{The paper comes down}

Footnote
(1) There has been ensuing debate over whether Strong Bad says "dogs" or "dolls" at this point. A poll conducted about this seems to point toward "dogs" being most accepted as correct

Easter Eggs
*At the end, click on the words "good gravy" to see the KOT's new food product.
*Also at the end click "crap" to see a CD jewel case and hear a sample of All is On's album.

Fun Facts
*Peasant's Quest:
**The commands Strong Bad uses were not originally part of the game but were added after this email debuted.
**It is impossible to get a negative score in the real game.
**If you look carefully, you can see that the Kerrek isn't walking around in the "Kerrek tracks" area.
**Kerrek is a teetotaller confirming that Cold Ones are alcoholic.
*Strong Bad's Show
**The fake show hosted by Strong Bad is a spoof of many children's shows; the kids heard shouting the answers to Strong Bad's questions are taken from the show Blue's Clues. Strong Bad's show is actually a curious reversal of Blue's Clues; in Blue's Clues the kids know all the answers but the host is completely clueless.
**One of the crayon drawings in Strong Bad's show looks similar to Dijjery-Doo.
**The drawing in top right corner of Strong Bad's show is the gelatinous monster from kids' book.
**The positions of the crayon graphics in the first scene are all rearranged when the scene zooms in on SB's face.
**Strong Bad's game of 'Where's The Cheat?' with the children is likely a reference to the cartoon Where's The Cheat?.
*Homsar's Show: Whaddya Know, Haddi-Man?
**The way Homsar enters and walks closer to the viewer is from the British kids' show "Bod". This is likely, as TBC have claimed that Bod was one of their influences.
**The opening theme/scene of Homsar's show has some similarities to the "It's a Small World" ride at Disney.
**The noise Homsar makes when he teleports around sound like the PBS show Boobah.
**When Homsar talks after the G shows up (complete with various head movements and hat flyings, as per usual), his shadow stands still.
**The "If you lived here you'd be home" shirt is possibly a reference to The Firesign Theatre, a radio group in the sixties and seventies, who had that line spoken on their record How Can You Be in Two Places at Once When You're Not Anywhere at All.

*The Party Mix CD with the song "All Is On" is a parody of the various "Kidz Bop!" and other 'kid-safe' albums. The spine of the CD reads "Songs we found on the street".

*Strong Bad refers to hosting a kids' show as a "sugarjob," echoing the email sugarbob.
Biography
Strong Bad is one of the most popular characters. Strong Bad answers e-mails with a passion, usually every Monday or Tuesday. He's Strong Sad's big brother and Strong Mad's little brother. His is the dominant personality and he loves to push everyone around: he's often ridiculing Strong Sad, abusing Homestar, or prank-calling Marzipan. He has boxing gloves for hands, a Mexican wrestling mask for a head, and it is confirmed that the mask IS actually his head in this interview. His favorite saying is (or was for a time) "holy crap." He is a stickler for grammar and spelling, and hates it when asked "Hey, Strong Bad, how do you type with boxing gloves on?". He usually does what he does best when he gets an e-mail like that: DELETED!!!

He fancies himself as a criminal mastermind, and totally popular with the ladies, though there is little evidence of this later claim, and even admits at one point he doesn't really know anything about the ladies. He seems to have a grudge against seagulls, as shown in issues of Teen Girl Squad. He doesn't know it yet, but The Cheat has hidden a video camera in his Computer Room, which The Cheat uses to spy on him, like in huttah!.

The original concept for the 100th e-mail, flashback, would have explained why Strong Bad never wears a shirt - he originally wore a star shirt, and when Marzipan got Homestar one, he tore his off in protest, and remained shirtless ever since.
STRONG BAD: Hold on, I'm not done with the props yet! {turns to camera} Greetings, party people in the place to be! I am called Strong Bad! Hand over all your moneys in a paper and/or plastic bag! Ladies, form a line to my left for makeouts! Dudes, form a line to my right for high fives! Anyway, like I said, I'm Strong Bad. I've been described as cool, awesome, hot, video games, the hottest, and real real hot. Me and my big brother and our The Cheat pretty much run the show around here, as well as serve as a sort of multi-purpose criminal element. Yeah, we got a lot of-
STRONG BAD: What are you doing here?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Well, I was gonna get a high five, but, I see I'm already here. And with a snake on my head!

STRONG BAD: Yeah, that's right. So I'm gonna have to charge you double. You know, since you're both here.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: That sounds reasonable. {pronounces it re-zon-able}

STRONG BAD: Okay, I only accept gold nuggets. Or maybe Denver Nuggets. ...Whatever you got on ya. Chicken nuggets?
