[[Homestar Runner]] and [[Marzipan]], although officially dating, have a rather tenuous '''relationship''', as has been evidenced several times. While they are occasionally affectionate toward one another, their relationship is most often strained, as Strong Bad observes when he refers to Marzipan as Homestar's "estranged girlfriend". Homestar frequently insults Marzipan (although he may not realize that he is doing so), and Marzipan occasionally treats Homestar with contempt. Occasionally, they even break up or mention breaking up. Nevertheless, they always end up together again. Marzipan, at least, regards their relationship as [[Wikipedia:open relationship|open]], and as such has gone on dates with [[The Cheat]] and [[Bubs]]. Homestar's chagrin at this shows that he does not agree with Marzipan's assessment of their relationship as open.
