The Topplegangers

'''The Topplegangers''' are the shady [[Wikipedia:Mercenary|mercenary]] commando biker gang and book club whose action figures were seen in [[8-Bit is Enough]]. The members are Swampslash, Subtlefuge, Dryghost, and Fudgeclank. They fight for either side, depending on who is the highest bidder, and reside in their [[Topplegangers' Hideout|hideout]]. Each is sold separately with rifle and gear.

The gang is likely a reference to Zartan's mercenary group, the [[Wikipedia:Dreadnoks|Dreadnoks]], from the G.I. Joe toyline by Hasbro. Their name is a pun on the word "[[Wikipedia:Doppelgänger|doppelgänger]]", which means a ghostly double of a living person, or any double or look-alike in particular.

The group is further mentioned in [[2 Part Episode: Part 1]]. The members of the [[Cheat Commandos]] who had been fired decided to enlist their help in breaking [[Blue Laser Commander]] out of prison. In this episode, Subtlefuge is named as the leader, not Swampslash. In [[2 Part Episode: Part 2]], Subtlefuge, like several other Cheat Commandos characters (Fightgar, Blue Laser Commander, Flashfight), speaks with a British accent.

Their figurines are seen in [[8-Bit is Enough]], but there are noticeable differences between them. For example, all four have normal The Cheat colors in figurine form, but they are all different colors in the cartoon. Additionally, Fudgeclank looks far more colorful and clown-like in the cartoon than the figurine.

My vote is that Bennedetto isn't so much a character as it is just an average everyday popcorn maker that Homestar, in all his geniusness, thinks is a character named Bennedetto. Well, I remember in 5th grade we learned about gangs. (A police officer came as a special guest.) What gangs do, is they try and see how tough you are by beating the crap out of you. Then, you are in the gang, and there is bad stuff (I don't know the specifics, because I've never been in one, thankfully), like weapons and drugs. Then if you want to get out, they have to "jump you out." That means you get beaten up, but a lot harder, and some people have died trying to escape/get out of gangs. [[User:Tgcdse|Tgcdse]]

*This email seems to indicate that The Cheat is making an appearance as the actor who plays Firebert.

In school, we learned about gangs from a police officer, and these are confirmed facts: For anyone who doesn't know, gangs "jump in" potential members. Turning aside from the [[HRWiki:swear|swear]] side-discussion... I still think the link between "has his lunch handed to him" and the stealing of lunch money is tenuous at best, and should be removed as speculation. Save for one mention that's relatively hidden on [[Hairstyle Runner]] (which is a rather old page), TBC have avoided using "ass" in H*R, to the point of [[lady fan|replacing it in other common phrases]]. Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. In the brochure for the On Point Kings, it says "earn your 'stache". This reminded me of Superstar Saga because the points you earned were actually called "'stache points" and also because strangers in the game always referred to your mustache as a 'stache, even if it was awkward to do so. It was one of the game's running gags. I was thinking in Nintendo, since it seems to be the Chaps favorite platform.
