Cheataholic:

The user name users choose for themselves is no longer set in stone. On request, Bureaucrats can change user account settings and article histories such that all previous edits of a given user are attributed to the new name using [[Special:Renameuser]]. Note: You must make the request from the account you want renamed; anonymous requests (except users whose usernames begin with a lowercase letter and therefore cannot log in) are ignored for security reasons.

As far as I know - unless there are some Easter eggs I missed - I have watched every toon and played every game on the Homestar Runner website, and am always anxiously anticipating the next update (accidental alliteration).

I visit the Homestar Runner Wiki mostly to check for updates to H*R, and to do [[HRWiki:WikiGnome|Gnome work]] on pages with missing information.

Although I am not a member of their wiki, I also enjoy watching [http://www.bonusstages.com Bonus Stage].

*GET YE FLASK. You drop into a vortex. Alas.

You come out at a crossroads.
*NORTH will take you to a monk's cottage;
*SOUTH will take you to a troll bridge;
*EAST will take you to an overlook above a village;
*WEST will take you to some creepy woods.
Start with NORTH.

You are outside the monastery.
*NORTH again takes you inside.
*GET STEIN. The monk bops you over the head and tries to boil you alive.
*SOUTH That was close!
*SOUTH back to the crossroads.
*WEST to the creepy woods.

You are in the creepy woods.
*LOOK INSIDE LOG. There are coins.

*TALK KIGALONIAN. Lots of guys turn around. You have to select the right one, 1-6; The correct answer is the same as was described to you by the barkeep in the pub.
*He gives you a map of the creepy woods.

*EAST to the sandwich shoppe.

You are outside the sandwich shoppe. It is closed and locked.
*LOOK WINDOW to see inside. There is a disgruntled worker and a condiment bar. Looking at it shows you there is BLOOD.
*KNOCK to get the disgruntled worker's attention.
*TALK MAN. He says they're closed, but he can give you something if you ask for it by name.
*ASK FOR BLOOD (or KETCHUP or CONDIMENT). He gives you "fake ketchup."
*WEST to the village.
*WEST to the overlook.
*WEST to the crossroads.
*WEST to the woods.
*The map reveals a path to the west. WEST to take it.

You are in a clearing with an old HAG and her SCRAPBOOK.
*LOOK SCRAPBOOK to flip through the pages.
*TALK HAG. She says she only talks to her dead husband, who died of the bloody head. Hmm...
*USE BLOOD (or KETCHUP) ON HEAD
*TALK HAG. She must test you to know for sure whether you are her husband. Are you ready? YES to take it.
*The answers are from the scrapbook. Whatever was written on the sign on page 1 is the answer to question 1, the item on the table on page 2 is the answer to question 2, and the number of child-looking creatures on page 3 is the answer to question 3.
*You have proven yourself. She says her husband died of the bloody head from going on dungeon expeditions without his FLASK-GRABBING glove, which she gives to you (her "husband") so you can fulfill his unfinished business.
*USE GLOVE at any point from here on.
*EAST to the woods.
*EAST to the crossroads.
*NORTH back to the cottage, but DON'T GO INSIDE!

You are at the monk's cottage.
*GIVE CORN TO BIRD. You have made a friend. The bird is added to your inventory.
*SOUTH to the crossroads.
*SOUTH to the troll bridge.

You are at the troll bridge. A TROLL blocks your path to the SOUTH.
*USE BIRD to fight off the troll.
*SOUTH across the bridge.

You come to a clearing with a DUNGEON DOOR and some skulls strewn about.
OPEN DOOR to your destiny.

*Hopefully you have put on your glove; if not, USE GLOVE now! If not, trying to get ye flask will again transport you to the crossroads, and the dungeon door will move.

*You then play an arcade game where you must press enter when the hand is exactly over ye flask. Each time you grab it, you then drop it and begin to tremble even more (the hand moves faster). This progresses through three levels of speed before you get ye flask and your quest is finished! You win!
*The screen is as follows:
The sanctum begins to rattle and hum. The walls open to reveal… THY NEW DUNGEONHOUSE! A live-in dungeon full of mazes, scrolls, keys, and maybe even a dagger! Ye cans’t believe it. Ye has thine own dungeon! This thing’ll keep thee busy for years! Ye grows to a ripe old age and ye flask becomes thy favorite drinking vessel. Ye hast several failed romances o’er the years but the maidens always make thee choose between them and ye flask. Tis hardly a choice at all. Congratulations! Thou art truly… THY DUNGEONMAN!

*When the hag asks how many children you have, the scrapbook photo may not correspond with her required answer. (ie: there are four wee hags pictured, but she kills you until you give up and say three)

=== Fixed Glitches ===
*Some hours after its release, the game began in the ''Hag's Clearing'' where you have no points yet possess the Fake Ketchup, already used.
*There was a warp portal that took you directly inside the dungeon that was accessed by typing "GO IN LOG" or "ENTER LOG" at the creepy woods; however, if you have not yet gotten the flask-grabbing glove, you will be unable to win the game. VOIPing back out from this path would cause a gateway to the dungeon to appear at the crossroads, and then at the creepy woods.
*When the game was first released, if the hag had 4 kids, then any answer you give her (including 4) would be taken as incorrect. The only way to fix this was to restart. This was fixed soon afterward.
*Also upon release, it was possible to get stuck by grabbing the stein in the monastery, then escaping the cauldron and re-entering the monastery, then pressing C to continue. This was later fixed so that you now continue from outside the monastery.
*Originally, if you typed LOOK FLOOR while holding the bone, the picture of the bone would appear.
*Originally, if you typed LOOK BONE or LOOK FLOOR in Yon Dungeon after using the bone, it would say that the bone is still on the ground. New phrases were later added in place of this.

*The obsession with "getting a flask" has run throughout the Thy Dungeonman series. It originated with [[Strong Bad|Strong Bad's]] earliest concept of the game in [[video games]], in which "you'd just have to sit there and imagine why on Earth you can't get ye flask!"

Cheatachu72 is an obvious reference to [[The Cheat]]'s screen name. But enough about that. Here's how I learned about Homestarrunner.com.
(In detective voice-over) It was church. I was sitting at my seat at church, Church @ The Springs (best church ever) when, in the craziest voice in mankind came from the church's screen. '''Teen Girl Squad! [[Cheerleader]], [[So and So]], [[What's Her Face]], [[The Ugly One]]!''' And it was the infamous ''Let's Get Yogurt!'' episode. I was immediately hooked. Anyways, I asked my friend if he knew where the toon was from, and he said a website called Homestarrunner.com. The 1st toon I ever watched was the also infamous [[Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon]]. I then watched all of the [[Strong Bad Emails]] there were at the time ([[mile]] was the new email). I can now proudly say that I have seen every toon (including easter eggs) in the H*R universe, and I keep that title by waking up extremely early on Monday morning and checking HRWiki's Updates page so I don't have to strip search Homestarrunner.com for updates(Ix-nay on the detective voice-over). My H*R related dream is to get my Strong Bad Email answered.

Sometimes the Brothers Chaps recreate the entire cast of the website in an alternate style. This section is for tracking and organizing all of the variations of the main characters.

There are also complicated narrative modes on the site. Strong Bad often answers "What If" questions in his emails, which leads to minor variations on normal characters. Anything created by The Cheat has a very rudimentary flash style. Puppets are sometimes used in lieu of animation. The 100th Strong Bad Email deliberately uses an animation style which matches some of the earliest work of the Brothers Chaps. The 100th Strong Bad Email deliberately uses an animation style which matches some of the earliest work of the Brothers Chaps. Tom: I'm seeing some deletion of redirect pages on the deletion log. It looks like most of those pages will not be missed, but it does help to have some "common" misspelling articles redirect to the proper article. This is not for sloppy linking , as no pages SHOULD link to a redirect page. This is for people who come to the site, punch in a name into the search box and are taken to the correct page.

:I agree. The ones I've been trying to catch are old links that were not fixed correctly during the move. Things like "MainPage 10" that were used instead of "[[Main Page 10]]" becuase of CamelCase on 'Tavi. The person who created that redirect then went ahead and created one for "MainPage 11", even though nothing linked there. I don't see the need for 21 pages to be created like this. Another example is "sbemail1" and its companions. There isn't a need for that.

I'd rather that a link show up in red and someone pick up on their mistake right away then have them continue to make links to redirect pages. If you want to make something on your own and then have it somewhere that you could link to from your userpage, that would be better. I know a background that you would make would most likely be good and wholesome for the Wiki and for Homestar Runner, but I wouldn't want to encourage other not-as-good backgrounds to be made. You are always free to make your own backgrounds, keep them to yourself, use them on your computer, and do what ever you want with them.

The problem is this: the Wiki is text-based, and information provided through text makes things much easier to search and quicker to load. I'm not really sure that having a screenshot of every different one is needed. Why would it need to be seen by the viewer? Could they simply watch the toon or email instead? One thing that really needs to be done regarding The Container is having the links to the page standardized. Every Fun Facts section on every email and toon that has The Container in it should link to the Floppy Disk Container page in a uniform way. You could get started on that, if you want. And then there's what the disks actually reference. There's a subpage of the Old Wiki page on that needs to be copied over and gone through with a fine-tooth comb.

Well since you already have the list of where the disk case occurs, it should be easy to find the toons to put the link in. I'll get on it later. As far as the floppy images go, I don't think they're NEEDED per-say, but I think it would be kinda cool. It lets people really VISUALIZE the floppys. They would be really small pics too, not full screen. But if you don't want them I won't put them there. As for other pics though, I have been kind of going through the sites putting pictures on everything, if you don't like any of them, feel free to take them off. I just think that any character, object, or place does need a picture to really visualize what the afforementioned thing is. Most of the pages I did only have one or two pics, with the exceptions of The [[King of Town's Castle]] place page, and the [[Tandy_400]] computer page. I kinda may have gone overboard on those ones. Look 'em over and decide. The [[Monkey_D]]'s page also have a few. If you don't like them you can fix them how you see fit. Alrightie. Update on the floppy disk container. I've been slowly working away at the Floppy disk container with screenshots page, no help needed there, but as I do so I realized another thing missing from the floppy disk container section, and an actual USEFUL thing, is a breif description and history of the games listed on the floppy disk containers. So that being said, I'm also plugging away at that in my little corner of the floppy disk page. If you would like the commentaries on the main floppy disk page too, which I think would be useful, please let me know so that I can add them to both pages as I go along. No rush though, it'll probably be a few weeks before I'm finished researching them and all. Let me know if you think this would be an improvement to the floppy disk page though. Though I agree that it's a good policy, I think that the 'see above' thing destroys the look of the summaries, especially once they are all finished. Plus, 'Manhunter New York' appeared in an e-mail at the top, then a toon way at the bottom. So it would be kind of hard to just say 'see above'. Plus since the picture is repeated, why not the explanation? You are the moderater, and whatever you decide I'll abide by, but in this case, since it's only for about 4 floppies, a number that's not likely to be increased, could I just repeat the explanations?

Template? I don't know much about website formating or whatnot. Basically everything I do on the Wiki I learn by looking at how somebody else wrote a code, and then copying that pattern. Hey Tom, I thought JPG format was to be used for videos and pictures, and PNG for all flash material. Plus I think the JPG looked clearer and brighter. :Ah ha. There's a little catch here though. We are talking about a screenshot of a movie or image, and not the actual image itself. Screenshots should always be PNGs. The only kinds of JPGs we should have are photos like [[:Image:TheBrothersChapsBandW.jpg]] or [[:Image:mattchapman.jpg]]. Actually, I never thought about NPOV. While I was doing all this, I used reviews as sources, it's easier to just take the opinions of the writers and condence them. But I think that meathod has given the summaries a multi purpose, to now give you a bit of background about the game for curiosity's sake, but also as a type of mini review, for those who are deciding whether or not to find and play them. It gives the summaries a critical and reviewish type feel. Now to go back and do them all NPOV'D would take some doing, and in my opinion I don't think would be as enjoyable to read. What do you think?

All the emails were in both categories when technically all SB Emails are part of his filmography by default. Hiho. I'm not getting much of a response on the [[Talk:Main Page|Main Talk Page]], so I figured I'd go straight to the source, assuming that the source(s) are moderators. Anyways, here's my question. Who's in charge of the Main Page, not so much the look of it, I don't really care about that, but moreso the organization of the links to pages. Now I'm no moderator, but I was curious as to why the links are organized the way they are. Why are Inside Jokes part of Wiki Stuff, Yet Songs part of Knowledge Base? I've been thinking about the layout, and I belive I've figued out a good way of sortage, and am hoping for either a yes or a no. Either one, as long as I can maybe get some kind of explanation as to why they're sorted the way they are, should the answer be a no. Anyhoo, without further ado, I give you my sorting idea...

Basically it consists of the Knowledge Base containing ONLY the things listed on the H*R main page(s), and putting everything left over into Wiki Stuff. It would look something like this, and would have the added bonus of evening the two sections out, leaving External Links on the bottom...

As you may have read I have an issue with the [[HRWiki:STUFF|STUFF]] page. I am very glad someone has spearheaded an attempt to control the "fun fact" problem, but I still think that the voting and discussion for disputed Fun Facts should be made on the article's talk page and not on the STUFF page.

If a controversial article like [[Wikipedia:History of Israel]] can exist on the Wikipedia by using the Talk page and without resorting to a common page voting system, I think the Homestar Wiki article [[virus]] can too.

Now that we have people's attention with the [[HRWiki:STUFF|STUFF]] page I suggest that we move content discussion back to the Talk pages where they belong.

I have created a preliminary template:disputed

This could be used to let contributors know that there is a dispute, and to direct them to the talk page. The Disputed Fun Facts link should go to a page with the info that [[User:furrykef |furrykef]] wrote on what is and is-not a good fun fact.

People were not using the talk pages effectively in the past, which is a failure of us the users, not of the talk pages.

I indeed was amazed at all the users who were very interested in voting. It appears that a quick vote and comment is much easier than proposing fixes and improvements.

:You also presented the idea that this problem inherent mostly because the Homestar Runner Universe is finite. I completely agree. I also believe this is why some users, instead of improving on articles that already exist, create very small articles for very fringe elements of said universe. :While this may not be the time or place to discuss your other comment on that talk page about proper classification, I believe it would be important to address that issue with whichever system is accepted for the dealing with fun facts.

:If we were to adopt your proposal, I would want some sort of centrally located instruction page. As you mention, this could contain some of Kef's rules from the STUFF page. I'd also want it to list all the pages that are currently going through the process.

:Of course, your proposal is in direct conflict with the current STUFF system, which the users seems to have latched on to. I like your proposal, but I'm interested in hearing how you would implement it given the current circumstances.
