Three cheers for my first transcript! Hooray! Seriously though, I left out a whole lot of stuff. People should verify that my dialogue is accurate, check for spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors, and add details that I wasn't able to. == It's Dot Matrix ==

An explanation of my (reverted) removal of the fact that The Printer is apparently dot matrix is in order. It's Dot Com, you're absolutely right. The printer that The Paper comes from is obviously a dot matrix. That's a very distinctive sound, and the appearance of the font clinches it. But my point is that the fact has nothing to do with ''this'' toon. We've known for years that it's a dot matrix. There's no new evidence presented by this picture of the printer.

On the other hand, if someone could find a specific ''model'' of printer that this new picture is based on, that would be noteworthy. But I've tried. I'm kinda on the fence about the Tejas fact. On one hand, I agree that it should be mentioned that Strong Bad has pronounced "Texas" as "TEH-hahs" in the past, and the writer of the email may be directly referencing that. BUT: I think it's also important that people understand that "TEH-hahs" is not uniquely Strong Bad's pronunciation, but rather how "Texas" is pronounced in Spanish. *It's TTATOT. They're based on numerous craft how to shows. Martha Stewart would probably be the best known, but there are really so many that you'd have to have something more specific to call it a reference to Martha Stewart (For instance, Martha Stewart actually made something out of junk mail and kitty litter, or actually called her scissors "snip-snipperouskis"). == It's Dot Benday ==

Strong Bad's comic strip does indeed use [[Wikipedia:Benday dots|Benday dots]]. (Well, at least some overlay effect that's clearly supposed to ''look'' like Benday dots.) Benday dots are indeed the trademark of artist [[Wikipedia:Roy Lichtenstein]]. However, there's no clear connection between Lichtenstein and this toon. They're both referencing the same source, which is inexpensively printed and melodramatic color comic books/strips. Lichtenstein's only known for the technique because he exaggerated it and introduced it to high art. It had already been in use for decades. As for mentioning the Benday dots themselves, I don't see the point. Any artist trying to evoke a comic strip feel would be likely to use a similar effect. I was tempted to add a Goof about Marzipan's snip-sniparooskies behaving like [[Wikipedia:pinking shears|pinking shears]] while being called scissors. (Note that they make a "crinkle cut" without her having to turn the paper or the scissors.) Then I noticed that Wikipedia defines pinking shears as a type of scissors. This doesn't agree with my experience where pinking shears and scissors are two different (albeit closely related) tools. :Remember that Wikipedia isn't always right - in fact, it's frequently not. If you have strong evidence that the WP article is wrong, you should feel free to go and correct it there. This is especially true if you want to use WP as a reference here.
:That said, I'm not sure this is all that noteworthy in this case. Measure your pumpkin and decide how big you can/want to make the carving. Make sure you leave an inch or two on the edge so your pumpkin (in my case, a Cheat O' Lantern!) is stable. Then size the stencil to your measurements and trace the stencil - I used a thick-bladed knife to cut out the stencil while pressed against the pumpkin (thick blade so you can see the cuts). Do the normal pumpkin carving stuff, cut the topp off and clean 'er out. I am surprised nobody's done this yet, I am making a mod for the game. It is called "Stickly Man Adventures." == Weird glitch. ==

My brother's a big fan of this game. One day, long ago, we we're checking out the Continue Menu, and ALL THE LEVELS WERE THERE!!!!
My brother noticed the strange thing that happened, and swore that he didn't make all this happen. He didn't have a clue of what was going on. Then I thought, ''This is obviously a rare glitch. I didn't do anything.'' So now when I see "stinkoman level <#>!" on the

I see. That's probably also why my grandmother's computer has it too. Oh welll. List of levels my brother hasn't beaten yet:

*5.2 (It's pretty hard, my brother can't get though the uptants in a row)

*7.2 (My brother has beaten this level at grandmother's, but when we came back it was gone.)

*8.1 (For some reason, it came out today. My brother can't play it because he's still asleep. That, and the computer can't access the game.)

*8.2 (Ditto.)

Bosses:

*Tampo (Even if it's the first level boss. it was supposed to be easy.)
*Nebulon (If you can't beat the .2 level, you can't see/beat the boss.)
*The Liekand (He has seen it, though.)
*An Ice Machine (Ditto with The Leikand.)
*Unnamed Boss (For the reason he can't play Level 8.)

I don't believe that the PUSH stove has been used in level seven. I don't recall that snowflake either (or maybe I do, it might be something else that I'm thinking of). :The purple arrow things are part of the Stinkoman level editor that TBC use, of which remnants remain in the stinkogame.swf on the site (but can't be accessed as vital parts seem to be missing). I'm not adding this to the item page, but if someone can verify what I'm remembering and thinks it's useful, then add it to the "Real World References" for the Level -0 (Negatory) world. I seem to remember that in the original NES Metroid, with just an autofiring controller (ah, NES Advantage, we had good times, yes?), you could get wedged in a door, then collapse/expand rapidly and climb up through the wall. If you did this on one particular door, you would go up into a very strange and frankly hazardous area that was all messed up (sounding a lot like that lost Sonic level). It was easy to get stuck, and I don't think any of the doors worked properly. Anyone remember what I'm talking about? If so, it's perhaps another possible reference like that Sonic world, with the advantage that no Game Genie or anything was required to get to it. -- DLR, Aug 3 2005, 1:00pm

The Game Genie version is such that the entire thing looks like nothing but static (since the HPZ graphics were removed from the final cartridge) and the Sonic 2 Beta version is not glitched, just unfinished. I do think it may be a reference to Hidden Palace, because there are [http://www.sws2b.com/zones/hidden_palace_final screenshots] of it. They do look similar to -0. In both versions, the level is incomplete, but in the beta ROM which I have, the graphics are not messed and it is easier to play. I still like to think that Level -0 is a reference to the 'Glitch City' bug in Pokémon Red/Blue versions. The randomly generated graphics are similar, as is the ability to defy the game's physics (example: Stinkoman can stand on the air at the beginning of the lever, and you could Surf through solid objects in the Glitch City bug). Also, there are many points in Glitch City where your character could become trapped in a place that seems solid, just like the opening cut-scene where Stinkoman was stuck in the wall. TBC have made Pokémon references before (Cheatachu, anyone?), and the glitchy nature of the first Pokémon games are widely known. Now, I wouldn't go so far as to compare Ekersby with Missingno., but the parallels between Level -0 and Glitch City are very similar.
But, with all that in mind, Super Mario Bros.'s Minus World was still the first thing to come to mind. Glitch City occurred to me just as soon as I started playing the level. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]
