[[Image:dween cast.png|thumb|220px|Fifty-five days after Halloween]]
'''Decemberween''' (also called [[what I want|X-berween]] and D'Ween) is a [[holiday]] celebrated by the people of [[Free Country, USA]] 55 days after [[Halloween]], on December 25. It bears many similarities to '''[[Wikipedia:Christmas|Christmas]]''', with colorful lights, garlands, and the giving of presents, but also has some obvious differences. Though Christmas carols have made appearances ("O Holy Night" in [[A Holiday Greeting]], "O Christmas Tree" in [[The Best Decemberween Ever]] and "Jingle Bells" in [[Decemberween Sweet Cuppin' Cakes]]), their correct words are never sung and only the tune is used. [[Decemberween food]] has some unique variations on more recognizable cuisine. Instead of turkeys and hams, the traditional meal is bunnies, much to [[Marzipan]]'s chagrin. The origins of the holiday are complicated, involving at least one Angel, two [[Kobe|Kobe Bryants]], the [[Wikipedia:Santa Claus|Santa Claus]]-like [[Dr. Christmas]], a sailor named [[Archibald]], and [[The King of Town (Decemberween)|The King of Town]]. Although the holiday's origins are explained in the pageant in [[A Decemberween Pageant]], only glimpses of it are seen in the [[toon]], leaving most of the story a mystery. In the [[Old-Timey]] days, Decemberween is described as "the most sanitary time of year", and was celebrated by piling up all the dead rats one has accumulated over the year. Decemberween can also be celebrated in [[Decemberween in July|July]], time permitting. There were no Decemberween cartoons in 2003, 2005, 2009, or 2011, although the latter two years were due the site being on hiatus.

Every year, [[Strong Sad]] is trapped in the bathtub so he won't be able to enjoy Decemberween with [[The Brothers Strong|his brothers]] and The Cheat.
==References to Christmas==
Though Decemberween is the winter holiday celebrated in Free Country, USA, some characters still make references to Christmas.

*Excluding "Decemberween Teen Girl Squad", "Decemberween in July", "Decemberween Short Shorts", and "Happy Dethemberween", all of the Decemberween toons have the word "xmas", an abbreviation for Christmas, in the URL address.
*[[A Decemberween Pageant]] features the character Dr. Christmas.
*In [[Pumpkin Carve-nival]], [[Homsar]] remarks, "I'm the ghost of Christmas past", a reference to Charles Dickens' [[Wikipedia:A Christmas Carol|A Christmas Carol]].
*In [[3 Times Halloween Funjob]], [[The Goblin]] is dressed up as a [[Santaman]].
*In [[Peasant's Quest]], the description of the [[Peasant's Quest Items|Super Trinket]] tells you that "It looks like it can either kill you or make you the hit of your Christmas party."
*In [[animal]], Strong Bad says if he was a made-up animal he'd want to be a [[Made-Up Strong Bad Animals#Deep Sea Fangly Fish|Deep Sea Fangly Fish]], the kind with "Christmas lights and custom lures".
*On the [[TV Time Toons Menu|toons menu]], the description for [[Happy Fireworks]] says "Strong Bad ruins Christmas. Wait, what?"
*In [[Bug In Mouth Disease]], Homestar calls the King of Town "Santa".
*In [[concert]], Strong Bad says that in place of pyrotechnics, [[sloshy]] strung Christmas lights over the bass drum.
*In the [[Quote of the Week#QW-2007-11-15|Quote of the Week]] for November 15, 2007, Coach Z states "I feel like that school child on the first day of Christmas!"
*In [[The Homestar Runner Gets Something Stuck In His Craw]], Narrator Strong Bad calls Strong Sad "The Ghost of Christmas Suck".
*In [[Hooked on Decemberween]], [[Brainkrieg]] sings "I'm gonna spell [[Swears|a cuss word]] on the roof with Christmas lights!"
*In [[Decomposing Pumpkins]], Brainkrieg again mentions Christmas lights in their song.
== Fanstuff Discussion ==

I was the one who originally said this was better left for being on the fanstuff wiki (I put the deleted thing on, but [[User:Tabacco|Tabacco]] removed it I guess). Anyone else thinks this should be put as fanstuff? Because it's not a part of the official homestarrunner.com site. {{User:Iyeru/sig}}
:This differs from fanstuff, as this is an official licensed Homestar Runner game (like the long-delayed [[Homestar Runner RPG]] or the appearance of "Trogdor" in [[Guitar Hero]]). Since it is official licensed (and even being "developed" by Videletrix), then this will be documented by the regular Wiki. The same thing would count towards things like [[Strong Bad Gameways]] or any of the [[:Category:Interviews and Public Appearances|live appearances]]. {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 17:33, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
::Yup, exactly right. {{User:Trey56/sig}} 17:43, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
:::Besides, it's mentioned on the official Homestar Runner site! --{{User:Jay/sig}} 17:47, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
::::Game News Soon doesn't direct to anything, so it may not be possible this is the same thing. But whatever. '''Close this mess.''' {{User:Iyeru/sig}}
:::::The news isn't supposed to be revealed in full for another hour and forty-five minutes. Keep your pants on, for real. Anyway, it's fairly obvious that this game and the notice on the site are related. --{{User:Jay/sig}} 18:16, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Intrepid editors may find [http://www.telltalegames.com/strongbad/faq this page] helpful. It's not 100% done yet but since we're running late we wanted to get something up with more info. --[[User:Tabacco|Tabacco]] 22:22, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
:Heyyyyy, the whole site is up now! --[[User:Tabacco|Tabacco]] 22:52, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Some info for you: I have a [[Wii]], and have every episode of [[SBCG4AP]] on it, and have all of the free demos of them on my computer. So I can help with a few things. And shouldn't each page of SBCG4AP, such as [[Homestar Ruiner]], have links to pages like: [[Homestar Ruiner Walkthrough]], and [[Homestar Ruiner Responses]]? Sende feedback please. -{{User:Mas12806/sig}} 21:17, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
:They do, on the template. {{User:Strongkinghomsarsmith/sig}} 21:22, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
== And you can play too! ==

Too bad this game can't be played by me. Not everyone's good enough to get a Wii. Although the article says it's also for the PC, I highly doubt that will be a reality. It makes me so frustrated when new consoles come out. Especially onces that cost over 200 USD, when I could get something productive (Like Photoshop CS3 Extended) for 320 USD. Which I ''will'' get 'cause I have no Wii. Why not get the wii, you ask? Because I want my damnz photoshop! Been entirely too long since I last had it. {{User:Iyeru/sig}}
:It will be out for the PC. Guaranteed. --[[User:Tabacco|Tabacco]] 23:13, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
::What retailers will you be distributing to? Target? Wal-Mart? If it's K-Mart, I advise against it. Madison, WI has '''no K-Marts whatsoever'''. Also, will it be good for only Vista? Because I can't switch to Vista, my computer won't allow me to upgrade my BIOS to do so. Besides, dozens upon dozens of users say Vista is crap for Gaming. {{User:Iyeru/sig}}
:::Our first run distribution is almost always through our website as downloads. With Sam & Max, we released the games as downloads and then once the whole season was over we assembled a disc and offered it up free to season subscribers. Not sure if that's what we're doing for Strong Bad (nobody tells me anything fun), but they will be available to download from our site. And no, they won't be Vista only. Our system spec is pretty generous in fact, so it shouldn't require too new and crazy a computer. --[[User:Tabacco|Tabacco]] 23:18, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
::::Do you expect people to buy over the Internet only? Or are the downloads free? Because I somewhat despise Internet purchasing. Of course, I do have a Debit Card (Sorry, will never, ever use a Credit Card) if I so need to do an online transaction. But I haven't used the card in over 4 months. {{User:Iyeru/sig}}
:::::It sounds like Tabacco answered this in his last post: they'll certainly be available for download, but if that's not an option for you, it's possible that they will be eventually released on disc format. {{User:Trey56/sig}} 23:24, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
::::::Some sites require you to pay for certain downloads though. Like "Adobe Extend." {{User:Iyeru/sig}}
:::::::Yep, this game will cost money, just as the exclusive DVD content does through the Homestar Runner store. It's good too; I've often wondered if there was a way for TBC to make some money off of their games! Fans have been able to support them by buying DVDs for a while, so I think this is great. {{User:Trey56/sig}} 23:30, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
::::Still awaiting answer for if we ''have'' to buy over the Internet, or if we can send in check/money orders. {{User:Iyeru/sig}}
:::::We also accept Paypal and Wire Transfer. You can use the latter if you like. --[[User:Tabacco|Tabacco]] 23:42, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
::::::You stil didn't say if I can use check or money order though; I will only use them. If you can't do money order / etc. it's better off not to purchase. Not everyone likes the Internet... I'm sure not liking it anymore... I've been distancing myself from it more and more. {{User:Iyeru/sig}}
:::::::No, we don't take checks or money order. You sound pretty determined not to purchase, so I'm not sure why you're so insistent on pushing the issue, honestly. I think we can call this closed. --[[User:Tabacco|Tabacco]] 00:01, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
::::::::Well, since homestarrunner.com's toons always seems to reference old technology (with the exception of the cheat's computer, and Pom'Pom's technology) it makes sense to allow people to send you checks and money orders. Mind you, checks are not as old as regular legal tender >>; I was originally going to try out this game in the future, but you've made me not want to. Not like it'd support an Intel GFX Card anydangway. {{User:Iyeru/sig}}
== Legal Rampage Issue ==

Transcripts are at the heart of our wiki, allowing us to have a reference guide for Homestarrunner.com and to save us the hassle of sitting through an entire toon to check a line or scene. With this in mind, to what extent will we transcribe the game? I'm against the idea of recording EVERY single line for two reasons: firstly, it would be a massive job to do. Undoubtedly there'll be tens of thousands of lines of dialogue throughout the game and it'll be impossible to find and store them all. The second reason is for legal issues: it seems to be OK to transcribe toons on the website since the transcripts won't significantly affect page views to the website and the toons are free in the first place. This game, on the other hand, will not be: the point of buying and playing the game is to find the dialogue yourself. And I don't want Telltale's lawyers to hit this wiki with a cease-and-desist order if they feel our actions harm the sales of their game. However, I think it'd still be OK to write walkthroughs and post Fun Facts on the game, in a similar manner to other websites. {{User:The Chort/sig}} 19:42, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
:A few minor stylistic things aside, I think the best way to "transcribe" this game (I don't think that's the right word) would be entirely similar to [[Thy Dungeonman II]] however, without creating the companion page [[Thy Dungeonman II Messages]]. This system would give us the fun facts and the walk-through and the glitches and the tips and everything else that you would expect from The Wiki, without any of the legal or commercial issues you spoke of. I mean [[User:Tabacco|Tabacco]] seems to be very involved in The Wiki (at least concerning SBCG4AP), and with Telltale's consent I see no problem making a [[Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People Messages]] page or something of that ilk (but with '''FAR''' fewer syllables). {{User:Flashfight/sig}} 08:56, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
::Exactly; we seem to have plenty of communication with Telltale through [[User:Tabacco|Tabacco]], so I'm sure that we can make sure whatever we do is acceptable to them (and TBC). It would be nice to have everything transcribed (transcriptions of game messages aren't a substitute for playing the game, in the same way that you don't forget about watching the cartoons and just read the transcripts - but even more so, as it's interactive), but obviously that depends on their wishes. -- [[User:Mithent|Mithent]] 09:51, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
:::I can't see how there'd be a legal issue *period* if we thoroughly "mapped out" this game. If there *was*, [http://www.gamefaqs.com/ GameFAQs] wouldn't exist. Furthermore, I've seen numerous "Game Scripts" there. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if someone beat us to it. [http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/data/945803.html Exhibit A] -{{User:YK/sig}} 05:03, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
::::Second. There's stuff on GameFAQs that's [http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/gamecube/file/920182/33006 much more in-depth] than is sane, even for us. Plus, we transcribe DVD-only content all the time, and TBC don't mind. And since TBC are working so close with Telltale, I doubt they'd let them sue us either. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]] 05:20, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
:::::I don't think there would be an issue with that sort of thing, but if someone 'offcially' associated with the wiki wants to shoot me an email, I can put them in contact with someone to be sure that it would be cool. There are lawyers lurking 'round every corner, but we generally prefer enabling awesomeness over litigiousness in everything we do at Telltale. Also, for what its worth, each episode will have ... a lot ... of dialog. [[User:TTGJake|TTGJake]] 06:58, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Related note, what about the Dev Blog! "written" by Strong Bad on the Telltales Games site? Any plans of documenting that on the Wiki? There could be a whole mess of running gags hidden in that... {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 20:23, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
:That is in fact written by Strong Bad. Well, it's written by [[TBC]], which is close enough, right? :) [[User:TTGJake|TTGJake]] 06:53, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
::I believe the Dev Blog is not being documented for the [[Talk:SBCG4AP Dev Blog|same]] [[Talk:Strong Sad's Lament#Transcript|reasons]] why [[Strong Sad's Lament]] isn't: that it's just duplicating large chunks of text from the website, that ''"it ''replaces'' the actual site"'' and that it would cross ''"the copyright-infringement line to a degree we should not be able to get away with."''. However, if the posts start being removed or if the website is eventually shut down, backed-up transcripts and images will be added to the article. {{User:The Chort/sig}} 16:41, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
:::The way that the [[SBCG4AP Dev Blog]] is being handled now (summarizing posts, pointing out specific references) is perfectly fine. At the time I wrote that bit, there wasn't a page started to note the contents. I think a similar approach should be used with the games, simply because of the volume of dialog involved, the non-linear nature of the game play, and potential legal issues. Particular pieces (such as openings, previews or set pieces) could be transcribed, proved proper clearances are granted first, but a wholesale transcription would be impractical. Noting references, goofs, etc.? Fair game. {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 16:30, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

== New gameplay/interview video ==

There's a video [http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/18383 here] showing off some of the gameplay (including [[Snake Boxer V]] footage), as well as an interview with some of the developers (I assume this is new, I didn't see it mentioned on the page anywhere). I think IGN are going to interview TBC about the game tomorrow, but I'm not sure... --{{User:Venusy/Sig}} 12:07, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
:On a related note, it looks like the [http://kotaku.com/378793/telltale-games-demos-strong-bads-cool-game-for-attractive-people-for-wiiware Kotaku] review of the game demo has some more detailed information that was is revealed in the Game Videos piece. {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 18:03, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

== External link organization ==

Since it looks like this game will produce a large number of external links (IGN et al. game reviews, material from Telltale, forums), how should we organize them? Traditionally, we've put forum links on the bottom (which in this case would include both Telltale's and ours), and material directly from Telltale at the top. But should we make subsections for each? I'm trying to think of scalability at this point. {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 16:40, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

:I think you're right, it will helpful to have them divided up into sub-sections. I liked {{p|l=http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=Strong_Bad%27s_Cool_Game_for_Attractive_People&diff=557820&oldid=557810 what you did}}, but I tried {{p|l=http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=Strong_Bad%27s_Cool_Game_for_Attractive_People&diff=557824&oldid=557820 reorganizing it a bit differently}}. Not sure if it's optimal yet; maybe we'll have to wait to see what kinds of external links we end up getting as it's released. {{User:Trey56/sig}} 16:53, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

== Screenshots ==

This may sound silly, but how do you accses the screenshots on the Tell Tale site?
:Not silly at all &mdash; scroll down to the end of the dev blog, and just below them on the left-hand side of the page are four TV screen-shaped pictures. Click on one of them to bring up the screenshots. Hope that helps! {{User:Trey56/sig}} 13:29, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

== question! ==

So will this be available on the Wii Shop Channel under the WiiWare section and can I buy it with Wii points? Becausue if not I can't buy it! --[[User:Acam30|Acam30]] 20:53, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
:Yes, you'll be able to get it off the Wii Shop Channel. Don't worry. It's for both PC and WiiWare. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]] 20:58, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
::Just curious to find out why you can't buy it. Do you not have a Wii? If that's the case, then disregard my next statement. If you do, Wii Points can be each purchase directly through the Wii or purchasing a Wii Points card at many fine retailers. Hopefully, Telltale will announce how many Wii points each episode will be. {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 21:07, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

== Episode One Info VS the IGN preview ==
Ok, thanks to the preview on the telltale official site, I think we can theorise that the IGN preview actually happens after the scenes in the trailer. 'Homestar Runner invades Strong Bad's house and Bogarts his style.' Of course, it could also be that the trailer scenes are actually a flashback.

Either way, we can't be sure that the game begins with the IGN preview anymore, so I was wondering what we should do about it[[User:Gerkuman|Gerkuman]] 14:02, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
:I was thinking the same thing. The preview for [[Homestar Ruiner]] seems to take place before Homestar hides in the basement for indecency. From the various reviews, though, it is clear that the preview was still an early build. (For example, the GameCyte review mentions that a plot clue is found under a cardboard box in the middle of the field, but the actual game, the clue location would be more challenging.) I would suspect that Strong Bad going directly from his song to talking to Homestar is a similar splice, and nobody knows what the final sequence will be until it's released in to the wild. {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 14:13, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
So I noticed Telltale is having a [http://www.telltalegames.com/community/blogs/id-338 contest] to design the H*R characters in Mii form and receive Homestar Ruiner as a gift on their Wii. (For those not in the know, downloads can be paid for by Wiis other than the one receiving it.) What I was wondering is, is this contest worthy of its own article or not? == T For Teen ==

Ok we were all surprised it got a t ranking but i bet they TellTale did so on purpose and made the esrb think it was worse than it really was for the moneymaking t rating. and mild suggestive content (if it is not a telltale tall tale) is probably something like saying home run or some other extremely mild euphism. Who agrees? Zelda games do it all the time. [[User:Physicsguymonsterman|Physicsguymonsterman]] 01:00, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
:Most of the cartoons on the site would get a T rating as well, if the ESRB system is used. I mean, just look at emails like [[lady fan]], [[sisters]], [[dreamail]], [[do over]]... plenty of suggestive themes there (without even mentioning Coach Z's problems), and the Teen Girl Squad comics probably fulfil the requirements for mild cartoon violence. The Poopsmith pretty much covers crude humour. --{{User:Venusy/Sig}} 09:34, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
::The ESRB ratings are: Early Childhood, Everyone, Everyone 10+, Teen, Mature, Adults Only and Rating Pending. As you can see, Teen is the most suitable rating since the game probably contains "contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling, and/or infrequent use of strong language." (The PEGI equivalant is 12+.) Undoubtably, there'll be [[Teen Girl Squad]], references to [[making out]], and maybe some [[whatsit]], [[blood]] and [[crap]]. So I'm assuming TGS is what bumped it up, unless the game contains [[Commandos in the Classroom|''very'' illegal pony fights]]. {{User:The Chort/sig}} 13:56, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
::: Cartoon Violence and rude humor can be in e 10(i think tgs might fit into e actually) whatever the suggestive material is and it would have to be a little but more mature than making out is why it is teen so i think hmmm maybe telltale told theesrb that there was sug mat. even though its making out scince esrb doesnt play the games.
::::I doubt TTG would just tell the ESRB that there was more mature material than it would normally be. As for suggestive material, according to the ESRB website, minimal suggestive material (as long as there's nothing else that would give it a higher rating) can credit a E rating. Suggestive material also is descripted as "Mild provocative references or materials". I'm not sure what else would qualify for the "mild suggestive themes", but remember that the crude humor and mild cartoon violence might merit a "T" rating themselves. {{User:DevonM/sig}} 14:32, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Traditionally, when The Brothers Chaps have done an interview, we've made a separate page for it, in part because they were so infrequent. But, so far there has been at least four interviews with them ahead of the launch of the game. The IGN interview already has a page, but I've put the [http://coldhardflash.com/2008/05/chapmans-cool-interview-for-animation-people.html Cold Hard Flash], [http://www.gamecyte.com/2008/05/08/a-chat-with-the-chaps-sbcg4ap-qa/1184 GameCyte] and [http://kotaku.com/5016138/lunchtime-with-the-brothers-chap-strong-bads-creators-speak-and-eat Kotaku] interviews as part of the game promotion list. And then most buyers would eventually visit the site. == Voice Acting ==

Just a note regarding the amount of voice acting and the claim that Matt and Missy do "most of" it. The most recent time this was added to the article, the editor cited a Gamespot interview. I think the confusion may arise because when asked "How much of the original voices to you have?", Telltale representative Brett Tosti replies that "95% of it is done by Matt Chapman". ''But'' he immediately goes on to say the other 5% is Marzipan (which he confirms is voiced by Missy). In fact, he's pretty emphatic that all of the voices are done by the original H*R talent. They work this fact into the interview twice &mdash; they are obviously proud of it. Anonymous, were you refering to a Gamespot interview other than the one with Brett Tosti?
== Baddest of the bands ==

== Drop a whale on 'em ==

As I noted on the [[Strong Badia the Free]] page, the Whale says "Get your lighter from the anvil, please," which can be connected with the fact that you get the lighter from The Cheat (compared with an anvil in [[huttah!]]). As I was playing a new game that didn't have the lighter yet when I saw that, I suddenly started wondering something. And then I look up what the whale says in [[Homestar Ruiner]] and:

*DRIVE-THRU WHALE: When the End Times come, we will all dance the Conga of the Apocalypse.
*DRIVE-THRU WHALE: Always double-down with a king in the hole.
*DRIVE-THRU WHALE: Lighten up, jumpy jumperson.
*DRIVE-THRU WHALE: You can't get ahead until you get a head.
*DRIVE-THRU WHALE: Sever you head, please. It's the greatest day.

Each of these, though a bit strained, can be compared with an event in Homestar Ruiner. Some of the others too, though they're bigger reaches. Could the whale be giving coded hints??? --{{User:Jay/sig}} 07:13, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
: A-''HA!!'' I opened up my SBtF second game that had defeated all the countries except Country. Tried talking to the whale several times, but he only said generic stuff that had nothing to do with the rest of the game - and suspiciously enough, did ''not'' say anything about getting a lighter from an anvil. I went on to Country, got the monster to appear, hacked off one head (IT REGROWS!!!), and went back to the whale. And what do I get? "Would you like flaming skulls with that?" He didn't ask that before. And to those who have played the game, I pose the question: WHAT do you need to do in Country in order to defeat the Ice Head of the Taranchula??? With this in mind, I can say with maybe 80% confidence that, yes, the Whale is giving hints. --{{User:Jay/sig}} 07:28, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
:I was watching video reviews and playing demos of Sam & Max, and I realized that the "new item sound" for SBCG4AP is identical to the sound that's played when you get a new item in Episode 105: Reality 2.0 (that is, when you get something while wearing the virtual reality goggles). == 3-D animation ==

You know, I noticed something. On the DVD, the 3-D animation looks silly and a bit premature, and in SBCG4AP, the graphics are smoother and much more dignified. I also noticed that most of the lines that are said during the game don't match the animation. And in the Wii menu when Strong Bad says "Onward to Strong Badia! Strong Badia... THE FREE!" It looks like they just re-used the animation from the first episode when he said "No time for the emails right now. :::OK, after a few days with the icons I've concluded that the screencaps did the best job of summarizing each episode. {{User:Bad Bad Guy/sig}} 21:23, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
::::I still disagree. {{User:DeFender1031/sig}} 21:44, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
I don't think that uniformity is a strong enough argument to justify replacing the screencaps. The [[Games]] article isn't very uniform, and the [[Toons]] article contains 0 title cards. Why? Because we provide pictures that say something about the plot. We should do the same here. {{User:Bad Bad Guy/sig}} 13:49, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
What's with all the crappy pictures? It's a bit odd that the game actually has a function for taking pictures built into it, yet nobody appears to be capable of getting a good screen capture. Most of the SBCG4AP pictures on the wiki are blurry or pixelated - is everyone playing on 640x480, low quality mode, windowed? I don't know how the Wii version works, but surely screenshots saved to SD card from there can't be that pixelated... -[[User:Poopsmith Z|Poopsmith Z]]
"oh, homestar in his army uniform. must be a war" I don't know why I didn't realize it sooner, but all that proved was that the icons are misleading. Which I still believe. :Personally, I think that solution A is probably the most elegant. However, I would point out that the main purpose of the SBCG4AP article is summarize the entire series. Any sort of extended plot summary of each the individual games, as well as screenshots, should be left to the game page. To that end, it may be worth thinking about moving some of the gallery images off (as was done previously with the reviews) to the game pages. {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 03:04, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
:::As I explain on my subpage, more time in "Strong Badia the Free" is spent protesting than battling. When the characters finally go off into battle, during the last five minutes of the game I might add, the game just cuts to a loading screen, then shows what happens a week after the battle ended. Further problems are caused by a fact I pointed out earlier: the "Homestar Ruiner" icon tells us nothing other than the fact Strong Bad is in it. Also keep in mind that you can always weed the Telltale website for seemingly better screencaps. {{User:Bad Bad Guy/sig}} 18:01, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
::::::It's nice that you think so. Those are the official images that telltale and TBC chose and i think it's a bit arrogant and presumptuous to call their logos "misleading" and insist that we provide something "better". There's also no reason that we need to have a screencap that gives a good idea of what the game is about on this page. We're just giving the descriptions and links to the articles on the games. In short, it's fine how it is. {{User:DeFender1031/sig}} 18:03, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
On an unimportant side note, while the main screencaps at the Telltale forum announcements for the last two are the same ones I picked for each episode's main Wiki article, the one for "Strong Badia the Free" tells us even less about the game than the pictures we use. [http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6423 Take a look.] But only if you want to. {{User:Bad Bad Guy/sig}} 18:18, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
:I made another table on my subpage just now, but it's pretty tall. <s>Is that a problem?</s> I realize now that it is. Also, I'm not sure what to make of this quote: "Those are the official images that telltale and TBC chose and i think it's a bit arrogant and presumptuous to call their logos 'misleading' and insist that we provide something 'better'." I believe I was '''not being presumptuous at all''' because I never called the logos misleading and whenever possible, picked episode screencaps from among those that TBC and Telltale selected. Where did you think I got them from? I can't even pick different screencaps since I play the Wii versions of the episodes. I also wish to respond to this quote: "There's also no reason that we need to have a screencap that gives a good idea of what the game is about on this page. We're just giving the descriptions and links to the articles on the games." You can make a similar argument for the [[Toons]] article, yet we do it anyway. {{User:Bad Bad Guy/sig}} 21:40, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
::Something I just noticed is that the official game website has the icons, and pages for each individual episode have screencaps, but the logos are nowhere to be found unless you count videos. So if anyone should be called pretentious and wanting something better than TBC's intents, it would be you. But I fortunately know better than to insult you like that. {{User:Bad Bad Guy/sig}} 03:44, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
:::I'm not so sure you do, actually, given that you pretty much '''did''' just say Deffy was pretentious. Sure, you stuck in a modal to make it a hypothetical situation, but that really makes no difference on the effect of what you're saying (i.e., "if anyone should be called pretentious and wanting something better than TBC's intents, it would be you" has basically the same effect as saying "you are pretentious and wanting something better than TBC's intents"). {{User:Heimstern Läufer/sig}} 04:55, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
::::Oh, I didn't know there was no difference. I thought what I did was kind of like, "You deserve this, but I'm not giving it to you", and that it was completely uncalled for for him to call me arrogant in the first place. {{User:Bad Bad Guy/sig}} 12:03, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
:::::Well, I didn't say there was no difference at all, just that it was basically the same. But the thing is, with actions, you can say "you deserve X, but I'm not going to give it to you", where X = a punch in the face, a kick in the rear, you name it. With words, once you've said them, they're there, regardless of whether you meant to give them or not. Now, as for your assertion that Defender's action were out of line: to be completely fair, he didn't really call ''you'' arrogant; rather, he said what you were doing was "a bit arrogant". Still, I do agree that it was pretty undiplomatic and didn't help the situation. Can we all possibly make up and agree to be cordial from now on? That would be great. == Bonus DVD ==

The bonus DVD version of SBCG4AP is in the works (they are promising to have it out by Comi-Con in July), so a question now becomes, how do we handle the release. Is it like another DVD? Should it be another section of this article? Telltale has [[Telltale:forums/showthread.php?t=8279|given some hints]] of the contents, such as [[Behind The Bad]] and mp3 of songs from the games, but I don't think we've had to deal with a physical release of any of the games before. {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 04:22, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
== Better screenshots ==

Are there any screenshots at the official websites for episodes 2 and 3 that do a better job summarizing and promoting the episodes than the ones I selected? Right now, I'm leaning very strongly towards changing the episode 3 picture to the second one featured [http://www.telltalegames.com/strongbad/baddestofthebands/screenshots here]. Regarding Episode 2, I can't say whether the ones of Strong Bad and the flag are better than the protest one because while Strong Bad is in them, he's not really doing anything. {{User:Bad Bad Guy/sig}} 15:39, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
:So, [[:Image:Strong Badia the Free.png|here's]] the screenshot I was thinking of using for episode 2. Like the one I picked for episode 1, it supplements the summary well, but unfortunately wouldn't hold up if you find it by itself. If it becomes the main screenshot, then I think the gameplay trailer article would have the picture where the flag is in the distance. Is this idea so good or no good? [http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=HRWiki:Sandbox&oldid=644242 Here] are some examples of how pages would look with the flag picture in place of the protest picture. {{User:Bad Bad Guy/sig}} 15:11, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
== SBCG4AP function discovered (?) ==

I've noticed that in SBCG4AP episodes, right-clicking ends the character's line that is speaking and goes on to the next one. For example, in the tutorial, Strong Bad's lines:
**"The magnifying glass* goes in my inventory."
**"Click here to get to the inventory."
If I right clicked at the *, Strong Bad would not say, "goes in my inventory" but instead go on to the "click here..." line.
==Recent==
The reason I said that sbcg4ap was recently released is because, um, it was recently released! Sorry for the confusion. 2008 wasn't that long ago. The game has been gradually increasing in popularity since it's release. The game explains all modern h*r relationships, and nothing has changed since it's debut. I'd suggest saying that the game was recently released because of the short period of time since it was released, compared to the entire lifespan of homestarrunner.com. It was at PAX 2010, by the way.
: In the world of video games, two to three years is a fair amount of time. What's more, the longer the Wiki exists, the less true that "recent" is anyway. Better not to put such descriptors, even if it was released last week. --{{User:Jay/sig}} 22:06, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
Okay, before I go too far and before all the hard work I've been doing goes to waste, I'm restructuring to get all external links in with some alt attribute values thrown in. Is this good so far? Is this necessary? All of these are there real values, since you're probably wondering.

:Oh yeah, and I remembered there was some article that had a bunch of external links organized in columns with page titles...anyone remember what that one was I thought it was? I thought it was The King of Town DVD or Yearbook, but that isn't it. --[[Special:Contributions/68.94.95.107|68.94.95.107]] 00:07, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Today, for the past hour or less, I've finished it for the heck of it. Can we put it in the article, or do I need to improve it?

'''Removed. It's now on the page with some improvements. You can see this one [http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=Talk:Thorax_Corporation&oldid=604435 here].'''
:You know, I looked at the [[Goats]] article thinking about replacing it with the "The Mythological Goat of Success" image with it's alternative text, and it could have been helpful to have it already in the database (well, I don't mean by in this talk page). Also, looking at an [[Talk:Thorax Corporation#Domain Business?|earlier note of]], "(Of course, the site is full of links. It's not easy finding them all.)", I think this will be a good contribution. If no one has any comments, I'll be adding this to the page in an hour, and adding a "<nowiki>{{uncensored}}</nowiki>" at the top of the page, due to the language of some of the alternative texts and page titles. Or maybe I'll just make a non-templated warning and add that to the top of the page. Yeah, that sounds better. --[[Special:Contributions/75.41.212.228|75.41.212.228]] 19:00, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

== Thorax Template? ==

Just so that we have all of it documented on the Wiki, should we make a page for each page, pop-up, etc.? I would like to transcribe the content of all the site, however, getting it all on one page would make it a little cluttered. I understand the lack of attention brought to Thorax due to its swearing, but I think we should allow an individual page for each page. --[[Special:Contributions/75.41.212.228|75.41.212.228]] 20:38, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
:Really, anybody? Since it's crawling with links, it would be helpful to document the pages. Not to mention it would make listing the references a lot more easier when doing it with separate pages and not as a whole. And it would be easier on Running Gag pages to link a Thorax Page to it's own article instead of either linking the page in a running gag's article, or leave the user to just search for it in that giant External Links section I had to make. --[[Special:Contributions/71.157.173.166|71.157.173.166]] 18:19, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

== Content Warning Removal ==

I beg to differ on the removal of the content warning you did, It's Dot Com. I covered alternate texts and page names, which include "WHO THE HELL DOES THIS GUY THINK HE IS?", and "sex appeal". "HORAX" could also be taken the wrong way. --[[Special:Contributions/70.253.165.204|70.253.165.204]] 02:46, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
::That, and this should be considered an uncensored article, in which I made that template of use. It will put Thorax in the uncensored articles category.
:::I've also documented the PRODUKTs now. No, not to get <nowiki>{{coverscontent}}</nowiki> back up there, its just a coincidence that I found it helpful to have it in the database while this was going on. Since the PRODUKTs contain mild swearing, we need it more than earlier. --[[Special:Contributions/70.253.165.204|70.253.165.204]] 03:27, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Leg and Strong Sad seem to have much in common. They both have two brothers who seem to dislike them greatly and they are both kinda abused. I think this is note worthy. Any opinions? Gent let's his financial woes get the best of him and LASHES OUT at the suits at JENKINS INC! Feel the sting with every biting comment, grimace in disgust at each lewd advance, recoil in horror at the sheer lack of control of a CEO scorned!<br />
== The Delabor Family ==
The Delabors are a family of pushy, money-grubbing corporate bigwigs with a tenuous grasp on the English language. Gent, Rode, and Leg are probably brothers; their relation to the others is unclear. Delabors mentioned on the Thorax website include:

[[Image:Gent delabor.jpg|thumb|75px|Gent Delabor, Sr.]]
*<span id="fam_gent">'''Gent Delabor, Sr.'''</span>, the CEO and Chief Executive Officer of Thorax Corporation, LLC,,., the CFO of Global Stardom Entertainment, and Webmaster of Second Income Stream dot com. His age is hinted between 18 and 65. He appears to run Delabor family affairs, which he manages from his parents' basement. Gent is even more pushy and money-grubbing than his relatives. Gent believes himself to be a genius, though in reality he is stupid, arrogant, and even abusive to his brother, Leg. He also believes himself to be more popular than he really is, claiming to receive about 300,000 emails a day. Gent really receives only about 3 a day (most of the time from himself sent to remind himself to pick up more grecian formula) and claims that this lack of emails is because his [[Wikipedia:Microsoft Outlook|Outlook]] is screwed up. Gent displays his low intelligence in many ways, once even going so far as to buy a $643 plane ticket to the town of Awe, Mississippi, just to try and meet someone named PuckHead0 who sent him an email which stated that he (PuckHead0) was in awe.

[[Image:Rode delabor.png|thumb|75px|Rode DeLabor]]
*<span id="fam_rode">'''Rode Delabor/DeLabor'''</span>, Thorax's marketing consortium. Rode is apparently Gent's chief lackey and business partner. Rode spells his last name as "DeLabor", which he claims is not because of an inability to type/read/speak the English Language(TM), but because he just thinks it makes his name look "Peruvian". Rode claims that he grew up in the farm fields of Frederick, Maryland, U.S.A., dreaming of INDUSTRY and then eventually left (because of INDUSTRY) to go to the big city, leaving behind his alcoholic father and his misanthropic mother. These claims, however, are all lies, and it's clear that Rode doesn't like his parents very much.

[[Image:Leg delabor.JPG|thumb|75px|Leg Delabor]]
*<span id="fam_leg">'''Leg Delabor'''</span>, lovelorn, legible bachelor and social gadabout who sells a series of self-help tapes. Like Rode, he is one of Gent's partners. Leg is frequently the target of Gent and Rode's scorn, derision, and ridicule. It is unknown if he is actually biologically related to the other Delabors, as Gent claims that they "got him from the gypsies in 19$7". Gent has made Leg sign no less than 35 contracts, the 28th of which legally, mentally, and physically bound Leg to THORAX CORPORATION LLC,,. in legal matrimony with the strongest of legal solvents and tapes, preventing Leg from having relationships with, among other people and things, females. Violations of this contract are punishable by up to 12 times in prison or 2 hours in the hall closet (whichever comes first). Gent even claims to have beaten the ever-loving crap out of Leg for about 2 and a half minutes when he found Leg emailing a female named Adrian.

[[Image:Sted delabor.JPG|thumb|75px|WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!]]
*<span id="fam_sted">'''Sted Delabor'''</span>, who works for Gent in an office cubicle, or "ofice-cubikle", as he says. He is the the "new guy" at work. He is the other Delabors' "3rd cousin-in-law twice divorced". Although he seems to believe that most of the time people tend to pick on the new guy, but that the fellows at the Thorax "ofice" have been nothing but helpful, and even mentions that Gent Delabor himself pointed him in the direction of the men's room after he had been holding it in for the first three days of his job. He is perpetually on his fifth day of work at Thorax, as he mentions that it had been yesterday when the "men's room" event happened. Sted looks up to the other Delabors, especially Gent, but the others think of him as "WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!" (which they claim is their way of saying "Welcome, friend. Don't steal any of our stuff.").
*<span id="fam_el">'''El Delabor'''</span>, the "mystical, phantom Delabor", who occasionally writes produkt offers for Gent. Gent used to just think that he was Rode in a sheet.
*<span id="fam_mark">'''Mark Delabor'''</span>, Thorax's webmaster and a spokesman for Second Income Streak dot com.
*<span id="fam_reg">'''Regular Size Delabor''' ("Reg")</span>, probably one of Gent's four children, born on January 1, 1994 at St. Monty's Animal Clinic. He is property of Thorax Corporation, LLC,,. He weighs 9 lbs 9 oz 9 oz and has a height of 4 or 5 (no unit of measurement is given). His temperament is fuggy.
*<span id="fam_patricia">'''Patricia Delabor-Jones'''</span>, a shift manager and one of Leg's customers.
*<span id="fam_granpa">'''Granpa Delabor'''</span>, The other Delabors' grandpa. He warns "when El Delabor comes for you, it's time to pay the piper."
<pre>
THORAX CORPORATION LLC,,. is SORRY!

SORRY YOU HAVEN'T PAID US YET!!

That's right! We're sick and tired of waiting for your money!
So we're going to make it so YOU DON'T HAVE A CHOICE!

How you might ask? By offering you the STARDOM OF THE LIFETIME!!

Our Stardomineers(TM) have been schemeing for hours and they've
finally come up with the solution we both need, a true Stardom
Scheme that'll fix you good! Listen to this crap!

Elvybody wants that new deck, that old porch 911, or that hideous
veranda across the street. Who wouldn't? Well now you're thyme has
come! There's no reason for you to pass this up. We could say we'll
cut up your family, but then we'd go to PRISON! Why resist? Open your
arms slowly, so as not to startle us, and let our Stardom come boring
into you.

Here's how it works:

-Tell a fiend about THORAX CORPORATION LLC,,.
-Lie to them until they give you a check made out to Gent Delabor, Sr.
-Send us that check (US Dollars only! Canadian currency will be spit
on and returned!)
-We'll cross out the amount your friend wrote and write down how
much we really want.
-Now it's your turn!
-Try and grow a third arm.
-Take one of your own blank checks and make it out to yourself.
-Now cross out the amount you wrote and write down how much you
really want.
-Take that check TO THE BANK!!
-Repeat until optimum Stardom is achieved.

It's really that easy! Do it from home, in your spare time, or whenever
we call you! If you tell one friend, that's only one check. But if you
tell 12 friends, that's at least 5 CHECKS!! Imagine, spend money you never
even earned and live like a true Burger King!

They say 'proof is in the pudding,' but we hate pudding! Here are
some quotes:

Gary Pantselection won't stop going:

"The Stardom is dripping through my hands!
Somebody get me a bowl!!"

E.L. Fudge commands:

"I called 911 and they never even SHOWED UP!
Thanks THORAX CORPORATION LLC,,.!!"

Low-Grade Fuel Substitute cries out:

"The trap is set. When Stardom comes traipsing
up the back steps, I'm entitled by law to beat it
to death with a length of lead pipe!"

Don't worry about signing up! There's nowhere to sign. In fact, we're
coming over right now! Just breath deeply and give in to the soft,
mustard-stained bosom of Total Stardom.
'''NOTE:''' The "[[Wikipedia:alt attribute|Alternate Text]]" details are found in the [[Wikipedia:HTML|HTML]] code. They specify what text to show if an image cannot load. This is required for images by the [[Wikipedia:World Wide Web Consortium|W3C]]. A mock up of alternate text "in action" are seen on the navigation buttons when you roll over them, as if they were actually non-existent images on a webpage viewed with earlier versions of [[Wikipedia:Internet Explorer|Internet Explorer]]. However, Leg Delabor's photo on the Our Gentle Staph page ''is'' a non-exsistant image, so the alternate text is displayed along with whatever other actions a viewer's browser employs.
