The Virus is the collective name of various ravenous computer viruses that infected the Compy 386 in the email virus. The Edgarware anti-virus software was not able to cope with the 423,827 viruses found on the machine, resulting in a total infection of the Homestar Runner universe. The resulting abnormalities were ended by Bubs and his shotgun, who destroyed the viruses along with the Compy 386. The Virus made a reappearance in Main Page 22. The Virus caused several instances of breaking the fourth wall.
clear
Harmful Effects of The Virus
Email "virus"
*Strong Bad could not delete the virus-filled email.
*The Compy experienced a "Flagrant System Error".
*The Compy's screen turned to liquid and it "peed the carpet."
*The computer desk turned to gridwork and appeared to absorb the Floppy Disk Container.
*The No Loafing Sign turned to HTML code and vanished.
*Strong Sad's head disconnected from his body and turned into pixelated emoticons from Strong Sad's Lament, complete with description. It also caused his body (but not his floating head) to turn around and go through a looping walk cycle while still remaining in place. Eventually, he turned into a trading card from an old character page and flew out of the top of the screen.
*The top of a main page crept in to the top of the computer room, turning the "Go on and see What's New!" into "Stave it off, 123" from for kids, causing glitchy versions of Quote of the Week, Weekly Fanstuff, and the Sketchbook:
**Quote of the Week's box was backwards and bounced around the screen, lodging itself at the top. It said "Don't TAPE it!" instead of "Get it," and clicking on "Hear it" would cause a broom from Peasant's Quest to scroll across the screen and emit a loud and glitchy noise.
**Weekly Fanstuff was an upside-down picture of Coach Z from when he tackled The King of Town in Where's The Cheat? (minus the King). The description was "Stick to your Books" written in "MS Font Specialty," and the "Close" button was misspelled. Moving the cursor over the Close button caused the words "A BOOK" to appear.
**The Sketchbook turned into a Flash color mixer. Scrolling over it caused a green X to appear.
*Strong Bad was able to accidentally run outside of the box enclosing the email, out into the surrounding black background. When he tried to re-enter the Computer Room, it moved to the left.
*Homestar's body was replaced by The Homestar Runner's, and he glided across the room rather than walking, leaving a trail of ghost images. After this, his head fell off.
*Homestar was able to pick up the words from the bottom menu.
*Several pop-ups of old-school Homestar from Homestar Talker appeared, each saying "Making out with Marzipan is totally awesome!"
*Marzipan turned into an ASCII art picture of herself and emitted a loud and glitchy noise (the same noise made by the broom earlier).
*Strong Mad turned into his old Yearbook picture and his old character description appeared at the top of the screen. When he moved, he made Homsar's walking sound.
*The King of Town was teleported to Teen Girl Squad issue π;. Here, The Ugly One had a deformed mouth and did not speak in word balloons. She slapped the King nine times, as Strong Bad did to Homestar in crazy cartoon.
*The H*R Loading screen was activated in the middle of the email, which then turned to a Windows 95-style "It is now safe to turn off your computer" message.
*Bubs' mouth became a broken JPEG, his eyes disappeared, his arms were stuck in one of his dance moves from Dancin' Bubs, his midsection disappeared, his legs became 3D, and his shotgun looked like Homestar's leg.
*The Stick turned into sky, where a badly disproportioned Strong Bad delivered dialogue from The Reddest Radish, The Cheat floated around, turning into different versions of himself, and a silhouetted Rather Dashing flew across the screen.

Main Page 22
*The Compy turned into several other computers from H*R, such as the Tandy 400, Tangerine Dreams, and the Pom Pilot.
*The menu buttons had irregular fonts and shapes.
*Homestar's face could turn into the old-style face from A Jumping Jack Contest.
*Scrolling over Games made part of the Main Page turn into a scene from Peasant's Quest.
*Scrolling over Characters made Homestar speak with a deep unintelligible disorted sound.
*Scrolling over the Download button caused several popups featuring Monte Negro and Biscuit Dough Hands Man. Eventually the Edgarware screen would pop up, with Edgar replaced by a Powered by The Cheat-style Bubs.
*Scrolling over the Store button makes it bigger. Homestar's head also moves to the left, and he says "Alright" rather than "Store". If you do this 22 times, the Store button will be at normal size.
*Scrolling over Toons made the Museum button fall, crushing the sbemail and contact links. You cannot click on those links until you scroll over Toons again.
*Scrolling over the Email button caused a duck from Duck Guardian to appear and be shot, blowing a hole in the HTML code, while a disproportioned Strong Bad with Marzipan's ponytail appeared in the corner.

STRONG BAD: {popping in again, and throwing his hat and cane} We did it!!! Lalalalalalalaaaa!

{The scene again rises like a curtain, revealing the Computer Room. The Lappy is in its place at the desk.}

STRONG BAD: The Lappy! You're back...y! You and I have some unfinished business, little lady!

{Strong Bad sits down. Cut to the Lappy's screen.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} There ya go, Jake-ula. Now all the cliffhangers have been for reallysolved. Okay, Lappy, I hope your battery's charged, {music starts} cuz I'm finally taking you out for those hush-puppies you always wanted!!!

{He picks up the Lappy and walks off. Cut to a silhouette of Strong Bad holding the Lappy and walking across the sunset. Ghostly images of the Tandy and Compy appear over his head. The music suddenly stops with a record scratch.}

FEMALE LAPPY 486: But Strong Bad, I'm hate hushpuppies!

STRONG BAD: Man, I coulda sworn one of you guys liked hushpuppies.

{The Paper comes down, reading "It was me. I like hushpuppies." The music starts again. It eventually stops again with a record scratch.}

FEMALE LAPPY 486: Can we please find my toe?

{Strong Bad stops walking and looks up toward the ghostly images, which speed away.}
Easter Eggs
*When Strong Bad says "Luke South", click on the Compy's exposed gear to see a southward traffic sign.
*At the end, before the old computers fly away, click their contrast knobs for the Bad Graphics Ghost and a dancing skeleton.

clear

Fun Facts
checkstuffpage

Explanations
*Structures or people are called the Eighth Wonder of the World in order to liken their perceived greatness to the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
*Leviathan is the name of a sea-monster mentioned several times in the Old Testament. The word "leviathan" is often used to refer to any large monster or creature.
*A hushpuppy is a deep-fried ball of cornmeal commonly eaten in the southern United States.
*Pesto is an Italian sauce frequently served over pasta. While many variations exist, in its classic form it is made of basil, pine nuts, extra virgin olive oil and pecorino romano cheese.

Trivia
*The floppy disk container reads "silpheed".
*This is the shortest Lappy Era email to date at 2:48.

Remarks
*Strong Bad has no problem typing commas on the Lappy, despite its missing "toe." However, the "toe" as we see it is just the cap of the key; the rubber dome beneath the key may still be intact, allowing Strong Bad to use it.
*As in retirement A, The Paper doesn't have a link to Strong Bad's email address.
*The contrast dial on the Compy does not work during the intro.
*This email uses the Compy's loading screen.
*The hole in the Compy is smaller here than it was at the end of virus, making it possible to fit a token amount of legible text onto the screen.
*Strong Mad appears to have no tongue or uvula.

Goofs
*The Brothers Chaps neglected to move the Lappy's screen mask when Strong Bad picks it up, so you can see some of the wall through the screen.

Glitches
*The Compy's left-sided screen line continuously moves back and forth during the last scene.

Inside References
*This email follows from cliffhangers and retirement A. In fact, Strong Bad's closing remarks are directed toward Jake, who sent the email featured in cliffhangers.
*The Cheat was previously compared with an anvil in huttah!.
*The skeleton image on the Compy's computer is from Peasant's Quest.
*Marzipan's curtain contains another case of Lowercase i's.
*The picture on Strong Mad's curtain resembles the Strong Man. Interestingly, although the figure in the picture is wearing the Strong Man's larger outfit, Strong Mad's costume consists of only a loincloth.

Real World References
*The Dust Bowl was a series of dust storms caused by poor farming techniques that ravaged the central United States and Canada from 1934 to 1939. Hundreds of thousands of people were displaced.
<!-- LOTS of things are called the "eighth wonder of the world." This is already noted in Explanations. -->
{Strong Bad says "Double Dear Strong Bad" in place of the first line, and after reading "wonder", he comments "You mean, more amazing than checking an email on this computer?!" In place of the name, he says "Luke South".}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Well, I am very serious too. Serious about the most incredible, tantalizing, pants-defying, mind-googling sights in the whole world!! {stops typing} Lalalalalalaaaa!

{Cut back to show the whole computer room. A boater hat falls on his head and a cane into his hand.}

STRONG BAD: Ladies and Luke, I give you...

{The Computer Room rises, as if it were a theater curtain, revealing a carnival tent.}

STRONG BAD: {as a sideshow caller} Strong Bad's Amazing Feats of Wonder! {Strong Bad appears in the foreground} Gawk and squawk as I walk and talk like an old-timey sideshow caller, and add "Lalalalalaa" to the end of everything I say lalalalalalaaa!

{Strong Bad ducks down. Cut to inside the tent.}

STRONG BAD: First, in our gallery of ocular oddities, is a contortionist with a twist!

{He moves away, revealing a curtain painted with "MARZiPAN - SHE-TYPE! KA-RAZY?"}

STRONG BAD: Feast your Dust Bowl-ravaged eyes on {Curtain lifts, revealing Marzipan with her hair tied up.} Marzipan, the Human Woo-man {rolls the next "R"} Rrrrrotini!

{A logo for "The Human Woo-man Rotini" appears. Marzipan curls her neck like a spring. The audience makes amazed sounds.}

STRONG BAD: Behold! An ocean of pesto!

{Green liquid flies in from offscreen and lands on Marzipan.}

MARZIPAN: That's not part of my act!

{Cut to The King of Town, with some of the green liquid dribbling down from his moustache.}

THE KING OF TOWN: I know! It's a part of mine lalalalalalalaaa!

{He sucks in the liquid. Cut back to Strong Bad.}

STRONG BAD: Now, direct your attention to the Pee Wee Stage...

{Again, Strong Bad moves aside. Now the curtain shows "THE CHEAT - AND HOW! PART ANVIL?"}

STRONG BAD: ...where the flea circus has left town, and the inmates are restless!

{The audience ooohs as the curtain is lifted, showing a manacled The Cheat.}

STRONG BAD: Gather strong at The Cheat's Flea Prison Riot!

{As the above words appear, a magnifying glass focuses on The Cheat and zooms in on a tiny prison in his fur, where a number of small black dots are rioting and squabbling. The prison has some flames coming out of the windows, and a siren is heard. Cut back to Strong Bad.}

STRONG BAD: And lastly, so ghastly, the ate-thh wonder of the world!

{Cut to curtain showing "Strong Mad - ATE THH! NECK?"}

STRONG BAD: House-mouth!!!

{The curtain lifts, showing Strong Mad in a loincloth. A "HOUSE-MOUTH" logo appears. The audience gasps.}

STRONG MAD: DAAAAH!! {Opens his mouth very wide, taking up most of his body and creating the shape of a house.}

STRONG BAD: {popping in from the side of the screen} This land-locked leviathan conveniently subsists only on outdated electronics!

{He ducks away as the Compy is thrown in Strong Mad's mouth. He closes his mouth. A second later, he jumps a bit as a sparking sound is heard. Strong Mad gulps it down.}

STRONG BAD: {popping in again, and throwing his hat and cane} We did it!!! Lalalalalalalaaaa!

{The scene again rises like a curtain, revealing the Computer Room. The Lappy is in its place at the desk.}

STRONG BAD: The Lappy! You're back...y! You and I have some unfinished business, little lady!

{Strong Bad sits down. Cut to the Lappy's screen.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} There ya go, Jake-ula. Now all the cliffhangers have been for reallysolved. Okay, Lappy, I hope your battery's charged, {music starts} cuz I'm finally taking you out for those hush-puppies you always wanted!!!

{He picks up the Lappy and walks off. Cut to a silhouette of Strong Bad holding the Lappy and walking across the sunset. Ghostly images of the Tandy and Compy appear over his head. The music suddenly stops with a record scratch.}

FEMALE LAPPY 486: But Strong Bad, I'm hate hushpuppies!

STRONG BAD: Man, I coulda sworn one of you guys liked hushpuppies.

{The Paper comes down, reading "It was me. I like hushpuppies." The music starts again. It eventually stops again with a record scratch.}

FEMALE LAPPY 486: Can we please find my toe?

{Strong Bad stops walking and looks up toward the ghostly images, which speed away.}

This is the shortest Lappy Era email to date

STRONG BAD: {singing} I'm livin' the Strong Bad life, I take an email for my wife. I take an email for my wife. {brings up and reads the email}

<blockquote class="lappy email">
<div>subject: Hey Strongbad!</div>
Hey Strongbad,<br/>
Does Strong Badia have any Mysterious Myths or<br/>
Legendary Legends?<br/>
Cephas<br/>
Cornwall, CA<br/>
</blockquote>

{Strong Bad says "Strongbad" as "Two words. Two different words. That are not one word. That are 'Strong' and 'Bad'." and the name and location as "Cephas Cornwall of the Corn Army".}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Mysterious Myths or Legendary Legends? Isn't that a show on one of those channels up in the high hundreds? Ya know, like between the CG Dinosaur Channel and the Homes with Rollercoasters in Them Network? Well, if not, it should be! {makes a static-like sound} Come on! {makes it again, but this time the screen cuts to static} There we go.

{Cut to Strong Badia. Strong Bad carries a stick.}

STRONG BAD: Strong Badia. An idyllic fruit-opia. Rich in madeupstories and nottrueities. The nottrue-est of which...

{He prods The Tire with his stick. The Bear-Shark pops up. The Cheat runs by, panicked.}

THE CHEAT: {screams in The Cheat}

STRONG BAD: ...is the mighty bear holding a shark. {spooky jungle music starts} More than a mere security counter-measure, its origins lie in the skies of old.

{Cut to a starry sky. Constellations of the Strong Badia flag's snake, the guy with the big knife, a hand giving the "OK" symbol, a board with nails in it, General Tso's chicken, a fish with an afro, and a marathon runner sporting a Union Jack singlet.}

STRONG BAD: The stars tell us that two of the seven elemental spirits of Strong Badia, the fish wearing a 'fro wig and the British distance runner, combined forces to defeat the others.

{The runner holds out a hand to the fish just before all the constellations fight in a cloud of dust. In the end, the runner emerges holding the fish over his head.}

STRONG BAD: In paintball... or maybe Red Rover.

{Cut back to Strong Bad}

STRONG BAD: Then, through years of bad story-telling and the telephone game,

{Over the following, images of a satyr holding a fish, labeled "Wildernessman withst Sea-Beast", a moose with a chameleon in its antlers, and a bad drawing of the bear-shark on the fence appear.}

STRONG BAD: The mythic beast transformed into the bear holding a shark we know today. These ancient fence drawings show evidence of destroyed crops, stolen babies, and family bike-rides. {The screen pans over to show bad drawings of the same.} Or family pie-sitting contests. Bear-holding-a-shark fever gripped the nation.

{Cut to Bubs' Concession Stand, with various Bear-Shark merchandise.}

BUBS: {holding up an ice cream bar} We got Bear-holding-a-shark frozen delights, {looking at a pile of glasses near him} and these shot glasses are always popular with the kids. Oh, and my favorite: {reaches down and produces a necklace} these Bear-tooth-holding-a-shark-tooth necklaces!

STRONG BAD: {voiceover} Of course, not everyone caught the fever.

{Music starts and Bubs dances. Then, cut to Strong Sad. The screen reads "Bear Holding a Shark Skeptic".}

STRONG SAD: I'm sure it's just a weather balloon or a foreign exchange student. These strange beasts just aren't real!

{Cut back to Strong Bad}

STRONG BAD: ...said the elephant-footed ghost man. And then, one day, the Bear-holding-a-shark got the break all made-up creatures dream of. {Taps the Bear-Shark with his stick a couple times} {The screen becomes more and more blurry, and zooms further and further into Strong Bad, on each word:} Blurry photographic evidence.

{Cut to Homestar Runner}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Now, I'm a little fuzzy on the details. But I was in the woods, walking my dog, Pom Pom. All of a sudden, he started growlin' and poopin' all over the place {chuckles}. And that's when I saw it.

{Static, then cut to a very fuzzy video reel of the Bear-Shark walking through the woods.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {voiceover} A very. Scary. Monsterman.

{More spooky jungle music}

STRONG BAD: {voiceover} Now that we've seen all the evidence, it's up to you to decide: {the following words appear on the screen} Mysterious Myth? Or Legendary Legend?

{More spooky jungle music. Cut back to the Lappy.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Join us next week when we examine startling new evidence in the Biscuitdoughhandsman conspiracy.

{Yet more spooky jungle music. The Paper comes down.}

by strong<br />
:STRONG BAD: {holding one of the Bear-Shark ice cream bars} So this is supposed to be the bear holding a shark? Looks more like... Morgan Freeman.
:BUBS: Oh, right! That's what it is! Now gimme twenty extra bucks for that Shawshank style.
*Click on "Biscuitdoughhandsman" to see Coach Z reporting an incident.
:COACH Z: {with voice digitally altered} So there I was, minding my own creepy business, when I found this severed hand in the lacker room! {He holds up a biscuit with a bite taken out.}

Fun Facts
Explanations
*"CG" is short for "Computer graphics".<!--The "G" really does stand for "Graphics", NOT "Generated"-->
*"Telephone Game" is a game for children where a message is whispered from one participant to another, along a group, causing the message to be increasingly distorted as time progresses.

Trivia
*The T-shirt in Bubs' Concession Stand reads: "My baby got stole by the bear holding a shark!"
**On March 27, 2006, a real-life version of this T-shirt was introduced in the Store.

Remarks
*The location given in the star chart, 118 degrees north and 28 degrees west, is impossible. As on Earth, 118 degrees north does not exist in star chart notation.
*Cephas is a Hellenization of Kepha, a name which is the rough equivalent of the Greek Petros, usually anglicized to Peter in English translations. The name is properly pronounced "KAY-fus". Strong Bad pronounces this name "CEE-Fus", a common anglicization.
*Although Strong Bad calls the Bear Holding a Shark by that name in this e-mail, he also called it a "bear-shark" in date.
*The "Bear-Tooth holding a Shark-Tooth" necklace Bubs offers for sale is clearly made with bear claws, not bear teeth. Actual bear teeth are much smaller and closely resemble dog teeth.
*Cornwall is a city in Ontario, and a city in California. The e-mail says "CA", so it is not known which is correct.

Goofs
*When Strong Bad is introducing Strong Badia for the first time, his right arm is briefly missing.
*If you click on the Trogdor Easter egg directly before the static, the egg will appear over the static and disappear as soon as it arrives in Strong Badia.
*Although Strong Bad berates the email's author for combining two words into one ("Strongbad"), he includes the word "rollercoasters" in his reply. "Roller coaster" consists of two separate words.

Inside References
*The ancient fence drawings include another appearance of pie.
*A Mighty Warrior first appeared in Teen Girl Squad Issue 10, and has mentioned corn each time he has appeared.
*Biscuit Dough Hands Man first appeared in Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon.
**In the email pizzaz he was also the subject of the "next episode".
*The constellation scene features the Strong Badian flag's snake, the big knife guy and his knife, and General Tso's Chicken, which all had connections to Strong Badia in the past.
*The fish constellation's 'fro wig also appeared in monument.
*Coach Z's voice was digitally altered before in couch patch.
*The Bear Holding a Shark first appeared in date &ndash; in that email, The Cheat touched The Tire, received an electric shock, and then was scared off by the bear-shark. In this email, Strong Bad touches the Tire with a pointer and avoids the shock, and The Cheat is once again scared away by the bear-shark.
*The "Bear Holding A Shark" ice cream bar is similar in style to the ice cream bars of Homestar Runner, Pom Pom and Strong Bad, as seen in the Museum.
*"Strong Bab" is a reference to The Secrets That I Keep, in which Strong Sad's birthday card was signed the same way by Lil' Strong Bad.
*Homestar Runner's pronunciation of "monsterman," as one word with the last syllable unaccented, matches the pronunciation of "Santaman".
*The cottage and Trogdor sprite used in the "Walking with Trogdor" Easter egg come from the game TROGDOR!.
*One of the fence drawings appears to be a thatched-roof cottage being burninated.
*Once again Homestar refers to Pom Pom as "his dog". He was previously called that in Pumpkin Carve-nival.
**A notable detail about Homestar's footage is that the bear-shark's feet are white and have blue soles, suggesting that the footage is not authentic. The Bigfoot footage has been debunked for similar reasons.
*The "Homes with Rollercoasters in Them Network" is likely a reference to the many home improvement shows that exist on channels like TLC and The Discovery Channel, in which rooms are redecorated to fit a specific theme. <!-- Do not add possible origins of the Bear-shark here. Not only are there multiple possibilities, but the Bear-shark did not debut in this email (it first appeared in "date", about two and a half years before this email appeared.) -->
Justin<br />
Murfreesboro, TN</blockquote>

{Strong Bad pronounces "TN" as "Tekken".}

STRONG BAD: Oh-ho-ho-ho! Devilish laugh. {types "Ohhhhhhh. (devilish laugh)"}

{Strong Bad clears the screen and types again.}

STRONG BAD: Dear Justin, In addition to the cut of your jib, I likes the sound of your town. Murfreesboro. But we got the All-Wide Science Fair just around the corner and I've been straining for a project. So far alls I've come up with is the effects of gasoline. {pauses a bit} On fire. {stops typing}

{Cut to a blue-print-style background, followed by a jar of coffee powder and a spoon. The spoon takes some coffee powder and "heaping spoonful" appears with an arrow pointing at the spoon.}

STRONG BAD: {voicing over} So, I figure&mdash;

{The title "How to make science work for me" appears}

STRONG BAD: &mdash;I just drop a couple of heaping spoonfuls&mdash;

{Said spoon and jar of coffee powder appears}

STRONG BAD: &mdash;of Sanka

{Said juice appears.}

STRONG BAD: and collect the ensuing data.

{The spoon drops the powder in. It spoons some more powder, pauses while "yet another heaping spoonful" and another arrow appear, then stirs it in.}

STRONG BAD: I'll definitely get first place. And who knows? I might even win me a Noble Peacie Prize...

{"slight discoloration" and another arrow appears next to the juice, and "slightly disgusting" appears with yet another arrow pointing at the jar of coffee.}

{Cut to view of Strong Bad and Strong Sad in the basement. Strong Bad is holding a legal pad, which he makes periodic notes in. One of Strong Sad's eyes is open unnaturally wide, and he holds his hands high above his head. His fingers twitch from time to time, and some erratic music plays in the background.}

STRONG BAD: So Strong Sad, tell me, how do you feel?

STRONG SAD: {speaking very quickly and clapping his hands together over his head} I feel great! I feel great! I feel great! I feel bad. I don't even watch football! I don't even watch football! I can't remember my leg.

{Cut to Strong Sad following an annoyed The Cheat on hands and knees. Strong Bad is in the background, watching and taking notes.}

STRONG SAD: Hey The Cheat! Listen up! Widdlywiddlywill! What did I say? What did I just say? Did I say anything? What about this one: hoo hee haw whadiawah! Did that mean anything? {Strong Bad voice-over begins} Did I offend you? I hope I didn't offend you.

STRONG BAD: {voice-over} After being exposed to my control Cheat, subject started acting way creepier than normal...like, even for Strong Sad.

{Cut to Marzipan's house, where she is trying to paint with Strong Sad next to her. We see Strong Bad in the foreground making more observations and taking more notes.}

STRONG SAD: Mar-zi-pan, Marzipan! What do you wanna make? You wanna make some wood-davers with me? I got pine cones! I got peanut butter! I got everything we need! I said pine cones! Pine cones! Gonna be successful! Gonna be phenomenally successful! Sell 'em at the corner store! Sell 'em at the five and dime! Marzipan, you gotta get on the train, get on the wood-davers train! Here goes the wood-davers train! It's takin' off! It's a new century!

{Strong Sad continues to ramble on as Marzipan walks away and Strong Bad continues.}

STRONG BAD: {voiceover} The subject's condition continued to deteriorate, and he began making up arts and crafts activities. Like wood-davers.

{Cut to Strong Bad's basement. Strong Mad is sitting on the couch, and Strong Sad is hanging upside-down from the ceiling.}

STRONG MAD: GET DOWN.

STRONG SAD: No!

STRONG MAD: GET DOWN!

STRONG SAD: No, no... Parakeet.

STRONG MAD: {in disbelief, and very clearly} Did you just say "parakeet"?

{Cut to a field with Strong Sad and Coach Z. Strong Sad alternates bouncing on his left and right legs. Strong Bad is in the background making notes and observations again.}

STRONG BAD: In the final stages, subject became: {The following words come up on the screen in Tandy text as Strong Bad says them} Erratic, violent, and Really Funny to Watch.

STRONG SAD: {slapping Coach Z in the face} Hey Coach Z! Hey Coach Z! Whaddaya got? Whaddaya got for me? How about that? Wanna play some soccer? {while Coach Z is speaking} Some hockeyjock? I got whatever it takes! Hey, ya want some salad? Pasta salad? Tuna salad? Fruit salad?

COACH Z: Woo! Woo! Cut that out! Don't hurt me! I don't wanna die! I'm just an old man— {Strong Sad steals Coach Z's hat after it falls to the ground} Ooh! Ooh!

STRONG SAD: ...Salad! Fruit salad! Fruit salad! Fruit salad! {Slowing down} Salad... {powering-down sound} ...Salad as a rock? Um... Coach Z, what are we doin' here?

COACH Z: You was tryin' to shank me.

STRONG SAD: Feelin' woozy...

{Strong Sad falls on his back. Coach Z's hat lands on his stomach. Cut to the All-Wide Science Fair auditorium stage, where a picture of Strong Sad on his back is shown on Strong Bad's easel under the caption "Results:".}

STRONG BAD: At this point, the test subject...was dead. {Gasp from the audience}

STRONG SAD: {Offscreen} I was not dead!

STRONG BAD: ...Shut up. And all of this data could only bring us to one conclusion: ...Strong Sad's adopted. {another gasp from the audience}

STRONG SAD: {Offscreen} That's not true either!

{The Paper comes down as a close up of Strong Bad's project is shown.}

Easter Eggs
*At the end of the e-mail, click on the various pictures on the right side of Strong Bad's science project board to see some of his car sketches.
:*Top notecard: "A Jalopy"
:*Middle Sticky Note: "Shark-mobile, can it work?"
:*Bottom Looseleaf: "The Fast"
*Hold down the mouse button over the paper in the folder on the left side to see Strong Bad's original project, The Effects of Gasoline on Fire. The left side reads:
<blockquote>about the<br>
author:<br>
strong bad<br>
fifteen<br>
bucks in his<br>
wallet right<br>
now. bet<br>
than you,<br>
poor person.</blockquote>

The right side, which is on fire, reads:

<blockquote>somebody<br>
should<br>
probably<br>
be keeping<br>
an eye on<br>
this.<br></blockquote>

*Move your mouse to the right side of the screen to find an arrow which you can click on to see Homestar Runner's project. It is blank except for the words "AW MAN. IT MELTED." and a puddle on the table.
*Click on the puddle and you'll see Homestar explain his project.
:HOMESTAR RUNNER: For my project, I opted to use more social studies...a-than science.
:CROWD: Ah, I see! Impressive! {miscellaneous chatter}

Fun Facts
Trivia
*With the exception of the Halloween toons, this is the first time Coach Z is seen without his hat on.
*Two versions of this were put up on the site. The first, which can be viewed on a mirror here has Coach Z saying "I'm just a crazy old man!" while being slapped. However, the version currently on the site has him saying "I'm just an old man!" The reason for this change is unknown.
*This is the first instance of Hyperactive Strong Sad.
*The "All-Wide Science Fair" sign is printed on fan-fold paper, possibly from the same printer as The Paper.
*In the end when we see Strong Bad's Science Project, the sheet of paper in a pocket under the blue words "What's a Wood-daver" reads:
<blockquote>Strong Bad's
Science Fair Project
(not "The Effects of
Gasoline on Fire" again)</blockquote>
*The summary on the Podstar Runner RSS feed for this video says "Strong Sad gets caffeinated."

Remarks
*Strong Bad says "coming in at number 91" at the beginning of the email. (This is e-mail #91.) In the email flashback, he says he lost count of his emails somewhere around #51, but it could have been a coincidence.
*The sound of Strong Sad coming down from his caffeine 'high' is the same sound used in gimmicks when Strong Bad's Tandy 400 shut down and was about to explode.
*Strong Sad's bulging eye is an upside-down copy of Bubs' smaller eye.
*Strong Bad says "my control Cheat", a rare use of The Cheat's name without an integral article.
*Strong Sad is moving so erratically, he has two mouths to add to the illusion after Marzipan walks away.
*When looking at Homestar's project, you can find an invisible "back" button by pressing Tab.
*Sanka is coffee with most of the caffiene taken out, Strong Sad still gets hyper off of it, regardless that it has 97% less caffeine than normal.
Inside References
*"Hockeyjock" is likely a reference to personal favorites.
*Despite Strong Sad's protests, Strong Bad claims that Strong Sad is dead (and adopted).

Real-World References
*All of the Easter eggs are intact, but have been condensed down into two Easter eggs.
**The first DVD Easter egg (found via the hidden Strong Bad Icon to the left of the Project Title) features a peek at what Strong Bad's original project was, closeups of all three of the "cool cars," and a closeup of the paper in the folder. Plus, the fire from the original project burns a corner off The Paper.
**The second DVD Easter egg (found via the hidden Strong Bad Icon to the right of the Project Title) combines Homestar's Project and his comments on it.
{Strong Bad pronounces "TN" as "Tekken".}

STRONG BAD: Oh-ho-ho-ho! Devilish laugh. {types "Ohhhhhhh. (devilish laugh)"}

{Strong Bad clears the screen and types again.}

STRONG BAD: Dear Justin, In addition to the cut of your jib, I likes the sound of your town. Murfreesboro. But we got the All-Wide Science Fair just around the corner and I've been straining for a project. So far alls I've come up with is the effects of gasoline. {pauses a bit} On fire. {stops typing}

{Cut to a blue-print-style background, followed by a jar of coffee powder and a spoon. The spoon takes some coffee powder and "heaping spoonful" appears with an arrow pointing at the spoon.}

STRONG BAD: {voicing over} So, I figure&mdash;

{The title "How to make science work for me" appears}

STRONG BAD: &mdash;I just drop a couple of heaping spoonfuls&mdash;

{Said spoon and jar of coffee powder appears}

STRONG BAD: &mdash;of Sanka

{"heaping spoonful" appears with an arrow pointing at the powder}

STRONG BAD: &mdash;into Strong Sad's orange juice,

{Said juice appears.}

STRONG BAD: and collect the ensuing data.

{The spoon drops the powder in. It spoons some more powder, pauses while "yet another heaping spoonful" and another arrow appear, then stirs it in.}

STRONG BAD: I'll definitely get first place. And who knows? I might even win me a Noble Peacie Prize...

{"slight discoloration" and another arrow appears next to the juice, and "slightly disgusting" appears with yet another arrow pointing at the jar of coffee.}

{Cut to view of Strong Bad and Strong Sad in the basement. Strong Bad is holding a legal pad, which he makes periodic notes in. One of Strong Sad's eyes is open unnaturally wide, and he holds his hands high above his head. His fingers twitch from time to time, and some erratic music plays in the background.}

{Cut to Strong Sad following an annoyed The Cheat on hands and knees. Strong Bad is in the background, watching and taking notes.}

{Cut to Marzipan's house, where she is trying to paint with Strong Sad next to her. We see Strong Bad in the foreground making more observations and taking more notes.}

{Strong Sad continues to ramble on as Marzipan walks away and Strong Bad continues.}

STRONG BAD: {voiceover} The subject's condition continued to deteriorate, and he began making up arts and crafts activities. Like wood-davers.

{Cut to Strong Bad's basement. Strong Mad is sitting on the couch, and Strong Sad is hanging upside-down from the ceiling.}

STRONG MAD: GET DOWN.

STRONG SAD: No!

STRONG MAD: GET DOWN!

STRONG SAD: No, no... Parakeet.

STRONG MAD: {in disbelief, and very clearly} Did you just say "parakeet"?

{Cut to a field with Strong Sad and Coach Z. Strong Sad alternates bouncing on his left and right legs. Strong Bad is in the background making notes and observations again.}

{Strong Sad falls on his back. Coach Z's hat lands on his stomach. Cut to the All-Wide Science Fair auditorium stage, where a picture of Strong Sad on his back is shown on Strong Bad's easel under the caption "Results:".}

STRONG BAD: At this point, the test subject...was dead. {Gasp from the audience}

STRONG SAD: {Offscreen} I was not dead!

STRONG BAD: ...Shut up. And all of this data could only bring us to one conclusion: ...Strong Sad's adopted. {another gasp from the audience}

STRONG SAD: {Offscreen} That's not true either!

{The Paper comes down as a close up of Strong Bad's project is shown.}

<blockquote>about the<br>
author:<br>
strong bad<br>
has at least<br>
fifteen<br>
bucks in his<br>
wallet right<br>
now. bet<br>
that's more<br>
than you,<br>
poor person.</blockquote>

The right side, which is on fire, reads:

<blockquote>somebody<br>
should<br>
probably<br>
be keeping<br>
an eye on<br>
this.<br></blockquote>

*Move your mouse to the right side of the screen to find an arrow which you can click on to see Homestar Runner's project. It is blank except for the words "AW MAN. IT MELTED." and a puddle on the table.
*Click on the puddle and you'll see Homestar explain his project.
:HOMESTAR RUNNER: For my project, I opted to use more social studies...a-than science.
:CROWD: Ah, I see! Impressive! {miscellaneous chatter}

Fun Facts

*Sanka is coffee with most of the caffiene, Strong Sad still gets hyper off off of it, regardless that it has 97% less caffeine than normal.
Inside References
*"Hockeyjock" is likely a reference to personal favorites.
*Despite Strong Sad's protests, Strong Bad claims that Strong Sad is dead (and adopted).

Real-World References
*When reading "TN" Strong Bad says "Tekken" instead of "Tennessee". Tekken is a popular fighting game by Namco.
*The "shark-mobile" may be a reference to an old Hot Wheels car called "The Sharkruiser."
*"Cut of your jib" is an old sailors' phrase, used to describe the expression on one's face, or the appearance of a ship from afar (the shape of the foresail, or "cut of the jib", described a ship's character). *Ironically, Sanka was the world's first brand of decaffeinated coffee. Invented in 1903, Sanka was first marketed in the United States in 1923.
*A five and dime was a type of store popular in the mid-1900s originally selling items such as candy and small toys.
DVD Version
*All of the Easter eggs are intact, but have been condensed down into two Easter eggs.
**The first DVD Easter egg (found via the hidden Strong Bad Icon to the left of the Project Title) features a peek at what Strong Bad's original project was, closeups of all three of the "cool cars," and a closeup of the paper in the folder. Plus, the fire from the original project burns a corner off The Paper.
**The second DVD Easter egg (found via the hidden Strong Bad Icon to the right of the Project Title) combines Homestar's Project and his comments on it.
