'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Thanks, shadow self! We'll do battle later. Today's missile ''{produces a paper}'' comes from Josh Keady in Corvallis, Oregon! ''{reads in a nervous high-pitched voice:}''

<blockquote class="email" style="background:#FFF;color:#000">
Dear Homestar.<br/>
<br/>
How long should a person keep<br/>
a pair of shoes? I have this one<br/>
pair that has been around for<br/>
years, but they're falling apart<br/>
pretty badly now. My girlfriend<br/>
thinks that I should get rid of<br/>
them. So what do I do? Repair<br/>
or replace?<br/>
<br/>
Urgently waiting for your advice,<br/>
Josh
</blockquote>

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Now you see those three little words?

''{He holds up the paper to the audience, and the camera zooms in on it.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' "My girlfriend thinks"?

''{As he says each word, the appropriate word is highlighted, with a different sound effect for each. Cut back to Homestar.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' That's your problem right there! ''{puts down the paper}'' I got one o' them, too. ''{Gets up and walks toward the Arturo.}'' The lad-ays just don't understand that it can take a man's shoes five to several years to finally get that sought-after walkin'-around-with-someone-else's-slightly-larger-foot-pelts-on-your-feet feeling! Stuff like holes, duct tape, and rank odor are&mdash;

''{Zoom in on the Arturo. A picture of a man's head appears.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{from offscreen}'' &mdash;just the shoe equivalent of graying hair&mdash;

''{The hair of the man in the picture grays a little.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' &mdash;buying a blue Miata&mdash;

''{A convertible appears under the head; the head is big enough to fill the both of the front seats.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' &mdash; and dating your graduate assistant!

''{A woman appears beside the head, proportioned correctly for the car. The head winks with a "ding" sound effect. Cut back to Homestar, sitting back down at the desk.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Now first of all, Josh, let's find out how old your shoes ''really'' are. And by that I mean&mdash;

''{Cut to the image of a very battered-looking shoe with "STREISAND" scrawled onto the side. Green clouds are seen behind it.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{voiceover}'' &mdash;how many office supplies you got holdin' 'em together.

''{Rubber bands appear wrapped around the shoe.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Rubber bands for laces?

''{Paperclips appear on the shoe.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Paperclips keeping the tongue from falling apart?

''{Two binder clips appear.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' These little things doing... ''{The clips grab parts of the shoes as Homestar hesitates.}'' their... little thing? Why do I wanna call these&mdash;

''{Cut back to Homestar. He's holding up a binder clip.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' &mdash;"cow clips"? ''{turns around}'' Does anyone else call these "cow clips"? No? ''{He holds the clip up to the camera and and opens it. As though providing the sound for the clip:}'' Moooo! Moooooo! ''{puts the clip down}'' If your kicks are old enough, as my pair of&mdash;

''{Cut to a stylized closeup of Homestar's feet. Black hairs are visible on Homestar's legs. His left shoe has some green slime coming out from the sole, is torn and stained, and has multiple oddly-colored bumps on it. His right shoe's sole is coming unraveled.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' &mdash;Freshley's Trackfaster Pro Squadrons ''{a logo for this brand appears}'' certainly are&mdash;

''{Cut back to Homestar.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' &mdash;then you can usually distract a few more months outta your girlfriend with...

''{Cut to a stage over two blue lumps.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{voiceover}'' A puppet show!

''{The camera pans back, revealing that the stage is very small and the blue lumps are part of Marzipan's couch. Marzipan is sitting on it, looking cross. One of Homestar's feet comes up over the sofa; his foot has googly-eyes attached to it and some fake "hair" that resembles blonde pigtails. It "speaks" by having its sole partially disconnect from the rest of the shoe.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{as the shoe-puppet}'' Tra-la-la! I'm a lonely Swiss miss lost in a chanted<!--sic--> forest!

''{Another leg appears. This one also has googly eyes, but a small purple wizard cap and drawn-on eyebrows and a mustache.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{as the second shoe-puppet}'' Yes! And now you will toil away in my ''toil''-et mines! While I get all the kickbacks! ''{as the first puppet}'' Oh no! Who will save me?

''{A third leg appears. This one has the googly eyes on the sole, rather than the foot, and has a blonde "wig" on it. Marzipan sits up, startled.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{as the third puppet}'' I'll save you!

''{Marzipan gasps loudly. The screen dims as the camera zooms in.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{voiceover}'' And when your puppet show gets canceled after three seasons...

''{Cut to a closeup of Marzipan}''

'''MARZIPAN:''' ''{angrily}'' You mean the whole last season was a ''dream?!'' Gimme a break! They shoulda just had babies, and then the babies shoulda gotten married.

''{Cut to Homestar at his desk.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ...then it's time to start wearin' giant socks ''{holds up a giant sock}'' over your old shoes with even bigger shoes ''{holds up a shoe that resembles his own, but larger, and has "SIZE 18" written in it}'' on top of 'em! And since you got one o' them ''thinking''-type girlfriends, I say throw another sock-shoe ''{holds up an even bigger sock and a "SIZE [[STRONG MAD]]" shoe}'' layer on top, just to be safe. ''{moves the socks and shoes to the sides and looks between them}'' And at this point, if nothin' else, you'll probably make a pretty good power-forward. So go ahead and post up. I'll be there to hit you in the paint.

''{Cut to the gym; Homestar is wearing enormous socks and basketball shoes. Marzipan is with him, and there is a basketball on the ground between them. Homestar steps back and forth.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Hoo! Heh! Hoo! ''{holds up his left foot, as if kicking Marzipan}'' Hoo-yah! ''{drops his foot}'' Hoo! ''{turns around}'' Hup! ''{turns back}'' Come on, Stockton! I'd like to see you break through this impenetrable wall of defense!

'''MARZIPAN:''' Homestar, you said there was gonna be a dance here tonight!

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' That's right: the ancient art of watch-my-baskeeball dance!

'''MARZIPAN:''' Uh... I think it's bas-''KET''-ball.

''{A whistle is heard. Homestar's third leg-puppet, with an ankle-band that looks like a sports referee's shirt, leans in.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{as the puppet}'' Technical foul! Art Stockton! First down!

''{Cut to a closeup of the Arturo. The picture of the head in the car with the woman appears. "email homestar runner at DJmankiewicz@homestarrunner.com" appears on the screen. The head winks with the same "ding!" sound effect.}''

==Easter Eggs==
*At the end, click on the woman to see a scene with Strong Bad in the Field.
:''{Strong Bad is wearing shoes that look like [[Soolnds|Strong Sad's feet]].}''
:'''STRONG BAD:''' Ah... ''that's'' the feeling I've been looking for! Come on, foot-pelts!
*At the end, click on the car's front tire to see Homestar doing battle with his shadow.
:''{Homestar is looking at "Shadow Homestar." There are health bars at the top of the screen labeled "HOMESTAR RUNNER" and "SHADOW HOMESTAR".}''
:'''ANNOUNCER:''' Round one! FIGHT! ''{"FIGHT!" appears in the middle of the screen.}''
:'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Aw, man! ''Shadow'' Homestar?! ''{sarcastically}'' "Hey, I've got a great idea! Let's dip the main character in a vat of ink and make you fight ''him'' before you get to the end boss!"
:''{Shadow Homestar suddenly leaps forward and kicks regular Homestar repeatedly, knocking his health to zero. Homestar collapses on the ground.}''
:'''ANNOUNCER:''' ''{quietly}'' Heh heh... geez. Sorry to laugh, that was just... rough. Ouch! ''{"OUCH!" appears in the middle of the screen.}''

== Fun Facts==
===Explanations===
*Hitting someone "in the paint" is a basketball term for someone inside the borders of the free throw area.
*Babies and weddings are often cited as signs that a television series has [[Wikipedia:Jumping the shark|jumped the shark]].
*Marzipan's remark that the entire last season was just a dream refers to a gimmick employed by [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AllJustADream several television series] in which such a revelation is made, usually in the last episode of that season.
*Homestar's remark that he will "do battle [with Shadow Homestar] later" refers to the common occurance of a hero [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EnemyWithout overcoming a dark or evil version of himself] in video games and other media.

===Trivia===
*This email was sent in by wiki forum user <span class="plainlinks">[http://forum.hrwiki.org/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=7133 mr_josh]</span>.
===Remarks===
*When Homestar is reading the letter initially, "My girlfriend thinks" is split over two lines, but in the close-up, it is all on the same line.
*Homestar holds up four items (two socks and two shoes) individually. This would mean that, if he had [[invisible arms]], he would need to have four to hold all these items.

===Inside References===
*Homestar is wearing [[Freshley's]].
*In the gym, Homestar is wearing Air Cardgages, first seen in [[diorama]].
*Homestar's shoe puppets feature [[googly-eyed objects|googly-eyes]].
*Homestar previously fought himself in [[strong badathlon]], and that email also featured a somewhat random appearance of the name Streisand.
*Strong Bad's walk in the Easter egg echoes how he walks when he leaves Club Technochocolate wearing the [['Lectric Boots]] in [[extra plug]].
*Covering a character in ink to create his silhouette was previously performed on [[Killingyouguy]] in [[dangeresque 3]].

===Real-World References===
*Homestar calling Marzipan "Stockton" likely refers to [[Wikipedia:John Stockton|John Stockton]].
*The gruff announcer in the Homestar vs. Shadow Homestar Easter egg says "Round 1, FIGHT!" in a voice very similar to the announcer in [[Mortal Kombat]]. His laugh is also reminiscent of the sound effects in the series.
** The music that plays during this scene is similar to the beat of [[Wikipedia:Ryu (Street Fighter)|Ryu's]] theme from [[Street Fighter II]].

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{as the shoe-puppet}'' Tra-la-la! I'm a lonely Swiss miss lost in a chanted<!--sic--> forest!

== Fun Facts==
===Explanations===
*Homestar's remark that he will "do battle [with Shadow Homestar] later" refers to the common occurance of a hero [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EnemyWithout overcoming a dark or evil version of themself] in video games and other media.

===Trivia===
*This email was sent in by wiki forum user <span class="plainlinks">[http://forum.hrwiki.org/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=7133 mr_josh]</span>.
===Remarks===

===Inside References===
*Homestar is wearing [[Freshley's]].
*In the gym, Homestar is wearing Air Cardgages, first seen in [[diorama]].
*Homestar's shoe puppets feature [[googly-eyed objects|googly-eyes]].
*Homestar previously fought himself in [[strong badathlon]].

===Real-World References===
**Furthermore, Shadow Homestar is reminiscent of [[Wikipedia:Noob Saibot|Noob Saibot]].
** The music that plays during this scene is similar to the beat of [[Wikipedia:Ryu (Street Fighter)|Ryu's]] theme from [[Street Fighter II]].
== Killingyouguy in Dangeresque 2 ==

"He was obliquely revived in Dangeresque 2, when Dangeresque tells him to "Either give me that tape, or punch me in the face." Killingyouguy choses the latter."

Looks like it's just Strong Mad in Dangeresque 2. I guess it's a reasonable conclusion that the original editions of both movies didn't have a costume for Stong Mad, and then they made him into Killingyouguy when they remastered Dangeresque 1. Or something. On second thought, I guess it still makes sense to call him Killingyouguy, even if he has no costume.

:There's no reason to assume that the character played by Strong Mad in Dangeresque 2 is Killingyouguy. There's a [[Unnamed Bad Guy|new villain]] in Dangeresque 2, which implies new henchmen. For the meantime, I'm going to remove this comment from the article. --[[User:Upsilon|Upsilon]]
::Yeah, just because strong mad was killing you guy in dangeresque 1, doesnt mean he's killingyouguy in dangeresque 2. {{User:Bubsty/sig}} 06:29, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

''{Homestar Runner's Theme Song plays as the scene lights up.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Thanks, shadow self! We'll do battle later. Today's missile ''{produces a paper}'' comes from Josh Keady in Corvallis, Oregon! ''{reads in a nervous high-pitched voice:}''

<blockquote class="email" style="background:#FFF;color:#000">
Dear Homestar.<br/>
<br/>
How long should a person keep<br/>
a pair of shoes? I have this one<br/>
pair that has been around for<br/>
years, but they're falling apart<br/>
pretty badly now. My girlfriend<br/>
thinks that I should get rid of<br/>
them. So what do I do? Repair<br/>
or replace?<br/>
<br/>
Urgently waiting for your advice,<br/>
Josh
</blockquote>

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' That's your problem right there! ''{puts down the paper}'' I got one o' them, too. ''{Gets up and walks toward the Arturo.}'' The lad-ays just don't understand that it can take a man's shoes five to several years to finally get that sought-after walkin'-around-with-someone-else's-slightly-larger-foot-pelts-on-your-feet feeling! Stuff like holes, duct tape, and rank odor are&mdash;

''{Zoom in on the Arturo. A picture of a man's head appears.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{from offscreen}'' &mdash;just the shoe equivalent of graying hair&mdash;

''{The hair of the man in the picture grays a little.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' &mdash;buying a blue Miata&mdash;

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Now first of all, Josh, let's find out how old your shoes ''really'' are. And by that I mean&mdash;

''{Cut to the image of a very battered-looking shoe with "STREISAND" scrawled onto the side. Green clouds are seen behind it.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{voiceover}'' &mdash;how many office supplies you got holdin' 'em together.

''{Rubber bands appear wrapped around the shoe.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Rubber bands for laces?

''{Paperclips appear on the shoe.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Paperclips keeping the tongue from falling apart?

''{Two binder clips appear.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' These little things doing... ''{The clips grab parts of the shoes as Homestar hesitates.}'' their... little thing? Why do I wanna call these&mdash;

''{Cut back to Homestar. He's holding up a binder clip.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' &mdash;"cow clips"? ''{turns around}'' Does anyone else call these "cow clips"? No? ''{He holds the clip up to the camera and and opens it. As though providing the sound for the clip:}'' Moooo! Moooooo! ''{puts the clip down}'' If your kicks are old enough, as my pair of&mdash;

''{Cut to a stylized closeup of Homestar's feet. Black hairs are visible on Homestar's legs. His left shoe has some green slime coming out from the sole, is torn and stained, and has multiple oddly-colored bumps on it. His right shoe's sole is coming unraveled.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' &mdash;Freshley's Trackfaster Pro Squadrons ''{a logo for this brand appears}'' certainly are&mdash;

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{as the shoe-puppet}'' Tra-la-la! I'm a lonely Swiss miss lost in a chanted<!--sic--> forest!
I'm no master at editing wikis, so I think I'll just mention it here. == Late Nite JengaJam! ==

Hey man, I was just wondering, since you're so far involved in transcribing the [[Late Nite JengaJam Interview - 4 Oct 2007|interview]], would you like to break up the transcript into sections by time index and topic, just to make it easier for transcribing and reading later on? I think initially we should break it into 5- to 10-minute chunks so that way multiple people can transcribe it at once (if they jump on the opportunity before you do) and we can get this done faster. Does that sound good to you? Also, I like how you add <nowiki><!--time index notes--></nowiki> into the transcript. That's really helpful; we should keep those. Keep on being for good and for awesome! &mdash;[[User:BazookaJoe|BazookaJoe]] 02:41, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
:Since the interview is so long, I think having multiple people do the transcript is a good idea. I'd love to do the whole thing, but doing interviews can be tedious. I'll break it into subsections with time code notes tonight. Those time codes were just for my own reference, but if you find them useful, I'll keep them in. {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 02:57, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
:My understanding, and one that I have tried to enforce, is pseudocharacters are not included in the cast lists. You did point out three exceptions ([[army]] and [[montage]], as well as [[3 Times Halloween Funjob]]), and I have fixed those to be consistent. {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 01:48, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
:I use the Apple DVD player on my Mac. It will display when the disc is inserted but is not playing. I've also seen some standalone DVD players made in the last few years ago also have the ability to show the jacket picture, but still doesn't seem to be a real common feature just yet. {{User:Wbwolf/sig}} 16:01, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
::::Well, not necessarily. One could argue that, by the "math" of the transitive <strike>butt</strike> gimmick property, Dallas: 1 season = 100% direct reference by what Marzi said, whereas Newhart: 1 series/8 seasons = 0% direct reference by what Marzi said. And as much as love Bob Newhart, I really think Dallas is the most likely reference (this coming from someone who hasn't even seen Dallas, but is just familiar with certain famous attributes, this being one of them). Having said that, though, I don't think there's a strong enough case to put that specific one in the article, so I don't think there's any other way to do it, no matter how much I hate general, ambiguous references (I usually don't find 'em very useful). (Though I do maintain that Dallas did it first, in the 85-86 season (Newhart ended in 1990), and that they've referenced Dallas at least once in the past, with the [[Caleb Rentpayer]] thing.) -[[Special:Contributions/132.183.151.21|132.183.151.21]] 22:47, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
== Homestar's Shoes? ==

Think it should be noted somewheres that Homestar's feet/shoes act like (and are referred to as) shoes in this toon? As far as I know, there's been a dispute over whether Homestar wears shoes or not, and this, especially the puppet show, could possibly confirm that he does.-Nonuser mster24
:Or that he doesn't. Note the fact that in that one closeup, his supposed "shoes" have those gnarly wart-looking things and his leg region is shown to have hair, despite the fact that there's no clear boundary between his "shoes/feet" and his legs. '''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Give it the gas, people! It's the breakout album of the year, Homestar Runner!

''{Homestar Runner's Theme Song plays as the scene lights up.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Thanks, shadow self! We'll do battle later. Today's missile ''{produces a paper}'' comes from Josh Key in Corvallis, Oregon! ''{reads in a nervous high-pitched voice:}''

<blockquote class="email" style="background:#FFF;color:#000">
Dear Homestar.<br/>
<br/>
How long should a person keep<br/>
a pair of shoes? I have this one<br/>
pair that has been around for<br/>
years, but they're falling apart<br/>
pretty badly now. My girlfriend<br/>
thinks that I should get rid of<br/>
them. So what do I do? Repair<br/>
or replace?<br/>
<br/>
Urgently waiting for your advice,<br/>
Josh
</blockquote>

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' That's your problem right there! ''{puts down the paper}'' I got one o' them, too. ''{Gets up and walks toward the Arturo.}'' The lad-ays just don't understand that it can take a man's shoes five to several years to finally get that sought-after walkin'-around-with-someone-else's-slightly-larger-foot-pelts-on-your-feet feeling! Stuff like holes, duct tape, and rank odor are&mdash;

''{Zoom in on the Arturo. A picture of a man's head appears.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{from offscreen}'' &mdash;just the shoe equivalent of graying hair&mdash;

''{The hair of the man in the picture grays a little.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' &mdash;buying a blue Miata&mdash;

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Now first of all, Josh, let's find out how old your shoes ''really'' are. And by that I mean&mdash;

''{Cut to the image of a very battered-looking shoe with "STREISAND" scrawled onto the side. Green clouds are seen behind it.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Rubber bands for laces?

''{Paperclips appear on the shoe.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Paperclips keeping the tongue from falling apart?

''{Two binder clips appear.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' These little things doing... ''{The clips grab parts of the shoes as Homestar hesitates.}'' their... little thing? Why do I wanna call these&mdash;

''{Cut back to Homestar. He's holding up a binder clip.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' &mdash;"cow clips"? ''{turns around}'' Does anyone else call these "cow clips"? No? ''{puts the clip down}'' If your kicks are old enough, as my pair of&mdash;

''{Cut to a stylized closeup of Homestar's feet. Black hairs are visible on Homestar's legs. His left shoe has some green slime coming out from the sole, is torn and stained, and has multiple oddly-colored bumps on it. His right shoe's sole is coming unraveled.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' &mdash;Freshley's Trackfaster Pro Squadrons ''{a logo for this brand appears}'' certainly are&mdash;

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' ''{as the shoe-puppet}'' Tra-la-la! I'm a lonely Swiss miss lost in a chanted<!--sic--> forest!

And since you got one o' them ''thinking''-type girlfriends, I say throw another sock-shoe ''{holds up an even bigger sock and a "SIZE STRONG MAD" shoe}'' layer on top, just to be safe.

==Easter Eggs==
*At the end, click on the car's front tire to see Homestar doing battle with his shadow.
:''{Homestar is looking at "Shadow Homestar." There are health bars at the top of the screen labeled "HOMESTAR RUNNER" and "SHADOW HOMESTAR".}''

== Fun Facts==
===Explanations===
*Hitting someone "in the paint" is a basketball term for someone inside the borders of the free throw area.
*Babies and weddings are often cited as signs that a television series has [[Wikipedia:Jumping the shark|jumped the shark]].
*Marzipan's remark that the entire last season was just a dream refers to a gimmick employed by several prime-time television series in which such a revelation is made, usually in the last episode of that season.

===Remarks===

===Inside References===
*Homestar is wearing [[Freshley's]]
*In the gym, Homestar is wearing Air Cardgages, first seen in [[diorama]].
*Homestar's shoe puppets feature [[googly-eyed objects|googly-eyes]].
*Homestar previously fought himself in [[strong badathlon]].
*Strong Bad's walk in the Easter egg echoes how he walks when he leaves Club Technochocolate wearing the [['Lectric Boots]] in [[extra plug]].

===Real-World References===
Could the claim in the Easter egg that Shadow Homestar was "dipped in a vat of ink" be a reference to the ending montage of [[dangeresque 3]], where the silhouette of [[Killingyouguy]] was shown to be made by painting Strong Mad in black? It should probably be noted that this is another instance of [[duplicate characters]], both with the 3rd Homestar leg (which is obviously not part of homestar when he's shown on the basketball court) and possibly also because of the Shadow Homestar. ==Homestar's Arms==
I'm no master at editing wikis, so I think I'll just mention it here. There should probably be something about how Homestar holds a big sock, then a big shoe, then a bigger sock, and then a bigger shoe, more than someone could hold with two hands (as he lifts them up seperately, and they don't move afterwards).
:There is a place to do that. I'll try to find it for consistancy. -{{User:Opus the Penguin/sig}} 17:39, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
::Try going [[invisible arms|here]]. I also added a remark on the article. -{{User:Opus the Penguin/sig}} 17:51, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
:::Okay, does anyone else think the Chaps are doing this on purpose now? I notice the whole "doing-things-that-would-require-more-than-two-arms" controversy has seemed to heighten somewhat on this wiki lately, so are they just adding fuel to the fire? Do they ''enjoy'' making those who try to find at least some level of vague sense-make in the cartoon squirm uncomfortably in their seats? (Not that I'm one of those people, I'm just sayin'. It's a weird co-weenky-dink.) [[User:Lucentas|Lucentas]] 21:04, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

== Dream ==
When marzipan says that "the whole last season was just a dream", could this be a reference to the infamous ending of the Sopranos Tv series?
:This is the fourth suggestion so far as to what show it's referring to. I think that pretty much makes it something that can't be pinned to any one thing. The other three are Roseanne, Dallas, and Newhart, as seen when i removed them [http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=Hremail_2000&diff=627207&oldid=627205&rcid=586009 here]. {{User:DeFender1031/sig}} 19:44, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
:::The show Newhart is arguably the most famous as making the ''entire show'' was a dream in his earlier show. But I don't want to get into an argument about which is "more famous", because if one is mentioned, they all need to be. The best way is to make an ambiguous reference. -{{User:Opus the Penguin/sig}} 21:33, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
There's a big controversy on how to include a remark about how "the entire last season was a dream." Why not just add a non-specific reference like; "Several prime-time shows have revealed in the season's last episode that the entire season had merely been a dream."? I'm not good at writing these things though, but i'm sure someone could make it sound very good and succinct. -{{User:Opus the Penguin/sig}} 21:01, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
:Why hasn't anyone else thought of this? Nice idea. -Nonuser mster24
::I'll take a shot at it. [[User:Lucentas|Lucentas]] 21:08, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
:::Okay, it's up. Wasn't sure whether to put it in Explanations or Real-World References, but if I've erred someone can move it. I tried to word it as succinctly as I could, but of course if someone can reword it better, go for it. [[User:Lucentas|Lucentas]] 21:13, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
::::Great summary, that's better than I could have put it. However, I believe that it belongs under Real-World references as it really isn't explaining anything rather than mention something said is referring to a real-life show(s). -{{User:Opus the Penguin/sig}} 21:29, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
:::::Actually, general references to culture rather than references to something specific go in explanations. it's in the right place. {{User:DeFender1031/sig}} 21:35, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
::::::I almost changed it, but realized the same thing trying to rephrase it. I like it where it is. -{{User:Opus the Penguin/sig}} 21:45, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
::There has only been one show where they had an entire season which was a dream. That was Dallas. This is a direct, complete reference to Dallas. -[[User:Jdhannan|Jdhannan]]
:::-as opposed to NEWHART which was only 8 seasons dreamed up. If I do my math right, NEWHART is 800% more direct than Dallas. My point is, there's more than one show which did that and we have the reference already in the article. We appreciate your input, but this has been discussed. Please see above. -{{User:Opus the Penguin/sig}} 22:32, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
== Homestar's Shoes? ==

Just another wrench in the works-of-clearing-up-ambiguity is my guess. [[User:Lucentas|Lucentas]] 21:08, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Having said that, though, I don't think there's a strong enough case to put that specific one in the article, so I don't think there's any other way to do it, no matter how much I hate general, ambiguous references (I usually don't find 'em very useful). :I'll take a shot at it. [[User:Lucentas|Lucentas]] 21:08, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Why hasn't anyone else thought of this? Nice idea. -Nonuser mster24
:Okay, it's up.
== Homestar's Shoes? ==

Just another wrench in the works-of-clearing-up-ambiguity is my guess. [[User:Lucentas|Lucentas]] 21:08, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
::Either way, we include references to his shoes on [[Homestar Runner's Pants]]. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]] 21:12, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
