STINKOMAN: {punches the air} Hah hah hah hah hah hah hah! {kicks the air} Hya hya hya hya hya hya!

{The Homestar Runner walks up, kicking his can. The can taps Stinkoman's foot.}

STINKOMAN: Waah! {jumps} Who are you?

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: I'm the Homestar Runner.

STINKOMAN: That name is dumb. It sounds like it is soooo dumb.

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Well, what's your moniker?

STINKOMAN: I go by Stinkoman. That's the name of talented fighter if ever there was one.

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Okay, if you say so. Would you care for some dry meal? {pulls out a bag of dry meal which makes a dry wheezing sound}

STINKOMAN: No way! I'm training for fighting, or maybe a challenge. So what's that thing you're kicking around?

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, that's just an old can of water soup. I kick it around ever since {sadly} my dog worshed away in the storm of '28.

STINKOMAN: You seem like you might not be from around here. Do you have any special powers?

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: I can play a mean worshboard. {pulls out a washboard that says "worsh it" and plays it}

STINKOMAN: {flinches} What is that? What is that? Some kinda robot?

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: What's a robit?

STINKOMAN: You don't know what a robot is? Hahahaha! You're so dumb! Ahahahaha! Dumb.

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, go soak your fat head.

STINKOMAN: Are you asking for a CHALLEENGE? {starts to power up}

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yes sir. Yes sir I am.

STINKOMAN: {jumps high into the air} DOUBLE DEUCE!!!!

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: {pulls out a pea shooter and shoots at him} Ptooie. {hits Stinkoman in the eye}

STINKOMAN: {falls to the ground} Ow! My eye! It's like my eye! It hurts so bad!

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Well, folks, you know what that means. Now I'll do a dance. {starts dancing}

STINKOMAN: Hahahaha! That dance cracks me up! Hahahaha! You gotta teach me!

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Just kinda shimmy and shake.

STINKOMAN: Yeah! Now I got it! {starts dancing}

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: 20X6!

STINKOMAN: 1936!

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: {stands on one leg} 20X6!

• The Homestar Runner's "worsh board" was a common, improvised musical instrument in the nineteenth century, typically used for percussion in jug-band music.

• This cartoon shows that Old-Timey takes place in 1936.
• The Old-Timey scratch line behaves irregularly:
  • Sometimes it sticks out of The Homestar Runner's body; other times it doesn't even reach the edge.
  • There is no scratch line on The Homestar Runner's feet, hat propeller, or worshboard.
  • The scratchline changes rotation with the rest of The Homestar Runner's body while he is dancing (see image at top of page). Given how scratch lines are formed, it is entirely impossible for it to be anything but perfectly vertical.
  • During part of the toon the dry meal sack has a scratch line (independent of The Homestar Runner's), but for the rest of the toon it does not.
• Stinkoman's mouth does not move when he says "DOOOOUUUUUBLEEEEEE DEUUUUUUUCE!"
• The term "robot" was coined in 1920 with the play R.U.R., well before 1936.

• The Homestar Runner kicking a can around is a reference to the series of cartoons in Kick the Can.
• "What is that, some kinda robot?" refers to the very first Strong Bad Email.
• Stinkoman uses the DOUBLE DEUCE.
• The Homestar Runner's dance music was originally used in Parsnips A-Plenty, as was the dry wheezing sound used for the dry meal. In Parsnips A-Plenty, the sound was used as Sickly Sam's disappearing noise.

• The kicking attack Stinkoman practices bears a strong resemblance to Chun-Li's lightning kick attack from Street Fighter II.
• The 1928 Okeechobee hurricane is often referred to as "The Storm of '28". The fourth-deadliest hurricane in United States history, flooding and rainfall extended through Georgia to southern Virginia.

• The phrase "shimmie and shake" was later used for the Toons Menu description of 500 The Cheats.
• Different universes (including the Old-Timey and 20X6 ones) would again collide in alternate universe.

MIKE: Ooh, a nice little title screen there.

MATT: Oh, these are always fun to do. Mixing the weird, different universes of the Homestar Runner world.

MIKE: Yes. This was the first—Was this the first thing that Stro—Stinkoman was in after the japanese cartoon email?

MATT: Yeah, I think so. This was the first fleshing out of his character a little bit. {pauses} I like how Old-Timey Homestar Runner has scratchies only on him—

MIKE: Yeah.

MATT: —and his voice.

MIKE: And—and his audio?

MATT: Yeah.

MIKE: I think Old-Timey Homestar Runner is my favorite character.

MATT: What do you think Old-Timey Homestar Runner's dog's name was, Mike?

MIKE: Um...

MATT: Old something?

MIKE: {laughs} Yeah. Old Eyelids? Cause he had eyelids? {Matt laughs} His eyelids were really big, actually.

MATT: Okay. They droop down off his face?

MIKE: {laughs} Yeah. Instead of having big droopy jowls, he had big droopy eyelashes. Wait, what did I say? Eyelids, not eyelashes.

MATT: Yeah. You think there's an anime name for those mushroomy things? Yeah, it's been like that.

MIKE: Really?

MATT: That's terrible. It looks really bad.

MIKE: An anime name for the mushrooms?

MATT: Yeah.

MIKE: I do think there's a name for them, but I can't think of what it might be right now.

MATT: {laughs} There's the snot— There's the snot bubble. There's the tear that comes up the side of your face. And then there's the weird, angry mushroom when you're laughing.

MIKE: They mean something to someone, but not to me.

MATT: Get down.

MIKE: It's like the end of the pale green pants.

MATT: Yeah.

MIKE: Hello?

MATT: Hello?

• Stinkoman appeared in Main Page 17 between japanese cartoon and this, contrary to Matt and Mike's claim, but this was in fact "the first fleshing out of his character" since that email.
• The Pale Green Pants are from a children's story called "What Was I Scared Of?" by Dr. Seuss.
• "The tear that comes up the side of your face" is correctly referred to as a sweat drop and is a common element of anime, though it almost always goes down one's face.
